It has been weeks of trying to make an appointment to get help with my Tesla with no answer. I've left numerous messages by phone trying to make an appointment and never received a call back. If we have to get Teslas repaired and fixed only at Tesla dealerships, how does this business model work when nobody picks up the phone or returns a phone call trying to get your car fixed, and this is the only Tesla service center in all of Marin? I am no longer recommending getting a Tesla to my friends as I had been before. read more

I purchased my whip from this location. After a couple of years my service needs seemed to be adequately handled at the Berkeley Gilman location. That was until those chuckle heads, didn't repair issues with cameras and auto pilot. I literally think they simply kept my car all day, had to Uber to pick it up only to find the issue was still there and eventually got worse! So I decided to try this location instead, a toll fee and 4 extra miles but it was worth it! Not only did they fix the issue, I was able to secure a loaner car. I've never been offered this at Berkeley. I came to pick up a little after 5 pm and they escorted me to my car. Took pesky messages that kept popping up in the app from Berkeley (wanting me to complete their survey) and I was on my merry way! Close enough to Pete's for a cup of joe while you wait if you have to. And immaculate on the service bay! Of course since it's under warranty it cost me Nothing for the privilege! read more

I booked service at this location due to bad experiences at my nearest location, but I was extremely disappointed that when my service appointment came around a few weeks after booking it, this location couldn't provide me with a loaner vehicle. My vehicle is being serviced for a recall - something that is entirely Tesla's fault - and I need my vehicle to drive my kids to school, so the fact that they couldn't even offer me a loaner for a couple of days while my vehicle is being serviced is ridiculous. read more

What a disappointment. Several weeks ago we notified Tesla that our car was no longer self-locking, our driver profiles were not consistently linking to our phones and our phones themselves were not connecting to the car. Initially Tesla set up an at-home appointment, but then changed us to a service center appointment. We brought the car in last Thursday as scheduled and today, FOUR DAYS LATER, Tesla says they are just now getting around to looking at our car. WHAT??? They say they need the car for another THREE days to "fix" the problem. No loaners provided, of course, and their $100/day Uber voucher is useless for everyday work, errands and appointments ... which we can't simply postpone for an undetermined amount of time while our car sits unattended in their so-called "service" center. So we just took our car back, without them having done anything to repair it. We now have a very expensive car that is not working properly and we've little-to-no confidence it ever will. What we learned, though, is that Elon reduced Tesla staff by 50% ... no doubt to try and buffer growing public mistrust in all things Elon and Tesla's plummeting stock price. Honestly, looking back now we deeply regret going with Tesla as our first EV. Elon was always an odd dude and we should have rationally thought through the long-term ramifications of buying anything from such an unstable, egocentric, attention-seeking automaton. It was our mistake and now we're paying for it by owning a car its maker clearly cannot support. Hopefully you will avoid our mistake. Tesla is not ready for prime time and never will be, IMO, so long as Twitter-boy has anything to do with it. Elon is first-rate carnival barker when it comes to marketing/promotion, but a third-rate Steve Jobs when it comes to delivering reliable technology. The Tesla service center in Corte Madera is nothing more than a symptom of a company that, like Elon himself, is long on promises and short on follow-through. They're over-worked, under-staffed and clearly under-resourced. In my 40+ years of car ownership (BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, Ford, Nissan, Oldsmobile and Toyota), Tesla is by far the worst in customer service, communication, public relations and overall competence. I will start by saying that I really love my model X. However, for the last couple of months, I've been experiencing an issue in the front end where it squeaks loudly while driving. It's apparently a known issue documented by Tesla for the models X,Y, and 3. It's a problem and defect with the upper ball joint where water can get into the upper ball joint boot thus removing the grease. There's no zert fitting and while my car only has 57,000 miles on it Tesla refuses to take care of it. They also want $220 just to tell me what, we all know it is. They also don't want to sell other local repair shops the Tesla parts to fix it, so leaving it at that I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with Tesla service. Also, if you want to get a live person to talk to get ready to jump through some hoops and navigate there Their website or phone app. read more

When I took autopilot off my order, they didn't point out I would be paying the current price, which was about $5k more at the time. I fought it hard since my sales advisor was so checked out they avoided talking about the price increase and just rushed me through it. I kept using the word "negligent" and finally got my lower price, although they never admitted they honored my original price. It just changed back to the original one day. They were a bunch of slimy jerks who kept passing the buck and giving me the runaround. read more

Tesla is slow and hardly responding to my requests, and I feel like a hostage: I'm unable to complete urgent repairs to my roof. I returned my lease and picked up my new vehicle today. For all the talk about lack of customer service and lack employees post COVID I want to give a special shout out to this crew. Upon arrival every single person was cordial, warm and attentive "how can I help you? Is someone taking care of you?" Shout out to Fletcher who did the lease return smoothly and easily we were done in under 10min. Big shout out to Miguel who took the time to set up my new vehicle, go over the new features and beyond answering my questions predicted my needs and made sure we set up the new vehicle right for me. He did all this in an upbeat, positive enjoyable attitude. Customer service is key for all businesses. How you treat your customers is the stories they tell ....is the lifeline of your brand. Amazing experience. I was stuck in a pickle as we were in the area on vacation and the locking mechanism failed for the trunk. Had a full day planned with Giants game and other activities. Was not trying to roll around the Bay Area with an unlocked trunk and car. Called them and they said they could help me in this situation. Was in and out in an hour (they replaced the lock for the trunk). The mechanic Josh was on point. 100x better than my local Tesla repair place who seem to be always looking for excuses to not help you. read more

Don't get your Service done at this location. They are not helpful and slow. I have attempted to come here twice and left both times. Jose attempted to help me. It took 30 minutes for him to tell me he didn't think my Tesla charger was damaged by a Tesla and attempted to charge for a new one, even though I am under warranty. Take your Tesla to SF or elsewhere where they care and provide quality service, it's worth the drive. read more

I've owned a Model S since August 2017 and a Model 3 since February 2018. Both cars have had a number of issues and each time the service center was always ready and willing to take care of them, almost without question. They wanted to ensure we loved our cars and for the most part we did. I always had a loaner car to drive home and the one time some expensive sunglasses went missing, they replaced them no questions asked. Unfortunately, Tesla corporate has recently (within the past few months as of this writing) started restricting what it's service technicians and managers can do, all in the name of saving money, but at the expense of customer satisfaction. Tesla is relatively new to mass manufacturing vehicles so all of us that own them are essentially beta testing not only the hardware and vehicles themselves, but also the software. We're providing them with miles on the road to improve their manufacturing processes and software. So, it's very disheartening when we have issues that any other car manufacturer would consider a defect and would fix without question, yet Tesla dares to call them minor cosmetic issues or environmental issues that aren't covered by the warranty. I know you are trying to become profitable, but I'd look for other ways to do this instead of alienating your early customers that are effectively allowing you to have some positive cash flow and provide you with data necessary to improve future generations of your vehicles. Service centers and their managers should be giving autonomy to do what's right for their customers. read more

Bad experience all around. I left the car for 3 days to get several minor issues fixed after purchasing it new a week earlier. I was notified it was ready and went to to pick it up only to find out just one of the items was fixed. I left it there another day and when I came back to pick up, I found out that none of the remaining issues were fixed at all. So, they set up a remote service appt for me, but then that was canceled by them without notice or any explanation. I emailed them last week to ask why it was canceled, no one has replied yet. I love the car. I am also a long term investor in $TSLA stock. That's not what I expected, what a disappointment. read more

I had my 2022 Model Y windshield replaced here. It was easy to make and change the appointment using the app. They called me ahead of time to confirm the final price and and took care of the paperwork with Tesla insurance. On the day of the appointment, I showed up on time to drop the car off. They offered me an Uber credit since they don't have a courtesy van, which I didn't need. The service only took a couple of hours, and I was notified via the app that the car was ready for pickup. They also showed me how to adjust the frunk knobs, so it closes evenly. Overall happy with their professional service. read more

I left my car here and informed them of multiple issues. Bad service all the way around. Here are my complaints: 1) it took the entire first day to ensure all the issues we spoke about were on the estimate. I have had previous experience where they told me my car was fixed and later told me issues I had raised never made it on the estimate, so I was meticulously going through their list and mine to make sure they matched up. 2) They didn't have loaners and stated that the loaner request needs to be made at the same time as making the appointment. 3) They gave me $100 Uber credits. I ordered a green Uber and that only got me a hybrid vehicle (not completely there fault, but they had stated to me that green was for plugins). 4) When it was "done", half of the issues stated "diagnosed" and they couldn't reproduce the issues. 5) They cancelled my Uber credits prior to pickup, leaving me STRANDED without a car. 6) I sent multiple chat messages via the app when the vehicle was done to see if the issues were resolved and to tell them my Uber credits were cancelled prior to pickup, but no response after 12+ hours. 7) Phone number on Yelp redirects to Service in app. Contacting other departments yields voicemails with 35 and 45 minute callbacks. Arrived for my 9:15am appointment at 9:12am. Nobody was there to greet customers. There was one person struggling to help, but they were not able to assist. This was insane. At 9:40, I was done, stopped someone with a Tesla shirt, gave them my name, key, pointed them at my car and left. Communication through the app was poor to say the least. 24 hour turnaround time. No communication about status even when the ETA for finished was missed. Closing at 5pm is absurd. This post sales experience was one of the worst I have had with a car. BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, and lower margin higher volume brands/dealers are miles ahead...and still offer a wash if needed. Competition is coming to Tesla, the full experience matters. Don't forget about existing customers. Mobile service has always been great...5 stars for mobile! I hope that any future need can be supported in this manner. read more

Counter employees and service is hit or miss. It really depends on which rep you get. The most consistent service comes from the South African employee (can't remember his name). There never seems to be enough employees to manage the wait and lines that form due to under staff. I went in for an easy part (12v battery) and the parts guy was no where to be found. There was only one counter person and she didn't seem to know where the battery was nor did she attempt to look. She proceeded to help everyone else that arrived as we waited for the parts person to provide an answer which never came. I ended up giving up and just left. Even though she had my info pulled up, no attempt was made to contact me after I left to report the status of the part. read more

It's time for an update. Since my negative review two months ago, unsurprisingly, I have not received a message from Tesla. I didn't expect one but hope springs eternal. Six weeks ago, someone crossed the solid line into my left-hand turn lane and hit my car. I hold no grudges as accidents happen; that's why we carry insurance. Right? I bring this up because my repair has been on hold for over a month. Why? Because the Tesla parts department hasn't sent a part, you cannot source anywhere else. The Tesla-certified repair shop is super apologetic, but it's not their fault. Tesla is to blame. Now Tesla's sales are down 10% from last year's sales, possibly Tesla may take a pause and question their business strategy. Perhaps creating a service department all can be proud of and developing a customer service department. I urge anyone considering purchasing an electric vehicle to go with an established car company, like Audi, Mercedes, Kia, etc., one that cares about their customers, has people who actually answer phones and emails, and one that doesn't make customers wait a month or longer for a bleeping part! I'll let you know how long it took to return my car. read more

Agree with other reviews, no greeter, seemed disorganized. Got there for 8:45am appt, was told it'd be 2 hours. They gave me Uber credits to get to work. Message said it'd be ready at noon. I messaged at 2pm because there was no message it was ready. At 3pm I called, and they said it'd be ready soon. I asked to just pick up next day at that point. He gave me Uber credit to get around, which was nice consolation. My Lexus service center is a 5 plus, this was pretty basic, aesthetically and service wise. Felt like a low level business, not a high priced vehicle place. Was disappointed, will consider a different location next time. read more

Horrible service. I scheduled a routine service for 2019 Model S that has never had any service needs. I just thought it would be a good idea. First I got a date/time specific appointment at the service center. Then they changed it to mobile service at my home, same day with an 8-12 window. It is now 12:30. No one has shown up. No one has called. No one has messaged. I called the center at 12:00 and was assured someone would get back to me. Nope. No call. No message. No response. No tech. Nada. read more

While I've had ongoing issues with Tesla as a company not being responsive to some serious complaints I've tried multiple times to resolve, the mobile service team at the San Rafael location is AWESOME!! They show up as scheduled, always treat my car with kid glove care, and address the required repair the first time around. A special shout-out to Scott Abrahamsen who goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure he takes care of his customers. He exceeds my expectations each time and is always willing to go the extra mile for his customers. I hope his managers realize what an enormous asset he is to their team!!! read more

Service here is lacklustre at best. Previous to the holidays I called ahead & logged a very specific issue with a date & time & then called ahead again before my apt. The day of apt I expected a seamless turnaround...drop car off, get loan car & be on my way. 45 minutes later that was achieved. Turns out them at despite my attempts at communicating this very specific issue with Tesla staff at this location they could not fix the issue at hand on that day. Long story short they were not going to cut into other people's service time. My issue is that if they had allowed enough scheduled time to work on my issue then it could have been fixed on the day. Fast forward to 2 weeks later where I had scheduled my car into be fixed from the original issue I run into exactly the same issue. 15 minutes just to be told that they cannot complete fixing this one very specific issue in one day...they would need my car over multiple days. I am told that 'there is a process to be followed' & they can't just push me in in front of all the other services scheduled for that day. All this despite this one issue already running over from two weeks ago! Whoever is in charge of service scheduling would do well in a customer service refresh & how best to meet (& even possibly exceed) customer expectations. read more

Adam, Dan, and Patrick took care of a loose trunk piece and some paint spots from a my new car delivery. It was done in couple hours in the afternoon. Car was completely detailed inside and out. I wasn't expecting to have inside wiped and vacuumed as well. All the issues were solved correctly and in timely fashion. Credited me with Lyft to get back to the office and back to pick up. Lots of credit for a days use. Not many people and didn't have to wait long. Only thing not so good is I couldn't call the service center, the San Rafael number goes through automations and never lets you talk to a person physically at the store. It kept telling me to go online and live chat which I couldn't find. read more

This service center has been open awhile, long before the model 3 came out. I was one of the first in the area to get my model 3 early 2018... I've been coming here for minor things such as air filter replacement after the fires we had, for my first tire rotation, and recently for a small noise I heard that started coming from the rear axle. They have really good tech guys here - who always immediately know what to do when I bring my car in - and they are quick! Friendly staff as well! read more

They are overwhelmed right now with some major growing pains, with a whole slew of Model 3s that were pushed through production too fast and exited the factory with issues. They generally are very friendly, and aim to please. Michelle at the front desk is amazing. The guy that works up there is like the flight attendant that smiles while they think of 300 different ways to say "NO." Every time I am there, I witness at least one customer having an epic meltdown. I have never seen the service people respond in any way that's less than professional, however. This is not like going to BMW or Mercedes or Audi. As long as you don't expect too much, and are very, very patient, this service center is fine. There is plenty of room for improvement which I assume will happen as they build more service capacity in Marin with their mobile service and hopefully more room at this facility. read more

They were so accommodating and friendly, it was just wonderful! I showed up for that appointment and it took only a couple of hours at which time I shopped at a nearby Trader Joes and had lunch at a Mexican restaurant while a waited. I like the new location in Corte Madera, but the service remains pitiful. Nothing but pushback on why they won't or can't fix stuff. Long waits. Terrible driveway for service center drop offs and pickups (one single lane so you can't get in/out easily). You'd get better technicians and advisors at the local high school auto shop class. read more
