I took my 2016 Model X in because the ceiling panel had dislodged from the vehicle. When I looked it up I discovered there was a recall for that very issue, however, when I dropped it off, the young woman who was checking us in kept arguing that there was no recall. We showed her several articles on the subject. She would disappear to talk to her Forman and then come back saying it didn't apply; at one point, in a very condescending tone, said, Just because you read it on the internet doesn't make it true." We had to point out: basically spell out for her that one of the documents we showed her was from Tesla's very own website, like, we had to point out the logo. She again scurried off to talk to her Forman and came back, this time finally acknowledging the validity of the recall. Although she apologized, I was still appalled at the level of incompetence and how disrespectfully I was treated. I also noticed that all of the service clerks were young, trim, attractive, white brunette women under 30. It was a little eerie how they all looked so much alike. It occurred to me that it seemed like an odd coincidence that every employee on the floor was of the exact same demographic. Not sure what their hiring criteria is but I, for one, would really appreciate it including knowing wtf your doing. After dropping the car off, I received a note from the mechanic letting me know I needed front tires. This was not unexpected. What was unexpected is that, a day later, I received a new invoice and note stating that I also needed fwd and aft links which added another $1000 to the bill. I didn't find a recall but did find a Service Bulletin that I thought would apply, but when I asked, I never got an answer; Just a follow up asking if I would approve the additional charges. At that point, I had pretty much given up on this Service Center and resigned myself to having to file a complaint with the AG for resolution. I love my Tesla, but the Lynwood Service Center was beyond disappointing. These cars aren't exactly cheap. But I think Yugo probably had better customer service.

When I arrived in the loaner, the service manager explained the repair, answered all my questions, and again had me on my way back home within 15 minutes, with a new battery.

I called four times and each call was answered in a timely manner. Unfortunately, each call was answered by 'hello' and that was it. They wouldn't respond to any of my questions or say anything. I believe they knew I was going to keep calling and on the fourth try, I spoke to the manager who had not even looked at my vehicle yet. I was calling early enough that I think only the manager would be answering the phones and I'm pretty sure I was speaking to the manager every time I called. I dont know anything about cars so I rely on honest mechanics. My household has 4 cars and I took them all to Sunny's. In the past 2 years, I have began to feel that Sunny's may be mis-diagnosing and overcharging for work. One car had the same issue, and I took it to Sunny's 3 different times as the issue never got resolved and I was being charged more and more for each visit. I eventually sold the car. Then, in a different car, a check engine light was on, although the car appeared to run fine, I brought it to Sunny's to diagnose. Sunny's gave an estimate for about $2500. I decided to get a 2nd opinion, and a different shop diagnosed it at about $420 and said many of the parts Sunny's wanted to replace looked fine to them. Needless to say I had the new shop do the work and have been happy.
