This location is exceptionally convenient because of its central location between San Jose and Salinas. Additionally as Level 3 chargers the charge is exceptionally fast. My most recent charge was on Sunday during PG&E off peak hours but the rate was still .41 cents a kWh. Not sure why the rate was so high but it is what it is. During that visit I observed at least 3 charging units with the cables on the ground. I recognize that the tesla design is not ideal and it tends to not remain connected if the user doesn't hook it correctly but clearly it's a major problem at this location. My charging station (1B) had the cable pulling away from the charging handle that connects to the vehicle. The unit was operable but could pose a danger to customers not being careful. I reported it to Tesla and expect it will be serviced shortly. For those not familiar you can call Tesla during work hours M-F at 1 (877) 798-3752. Choose Option 2 for Super Charger support. What's up: Continuing on our journey up north, Gilroy was one of our charging stops. Although we were too early, the Gilroy Premium Outlets were within walking distance from this spot. The chargers are located near San Ysidro Ave and the Super 8 Motel. Parking: There were a good number of charging spots available. Most of the chargers were back in parking spots. There were also a few head in chargers that were located to the right of the sign that indicated "Battery Storage Unit". Environment: In addition to the Tesla chargers, there were also the Blink Charging Stations and the EVgo Charging Statins close by. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The chargers were located in a convenient location. Close to the outlet as well as food like In-N-Out, there's a lot you can do while you wait for your car to get charged. read more

This supercharger is probably going to be your first or last stop to/from Los Angeles. There are a ton of stalls and they are relatively fast! I may have just gotten lucky at Gilroy, but unlike a few of the superchargers on my LA Trip I didn't get a bad/slow supercharger (a few of the stops on my road trip to LA had faulty chargers). GILROY ISN'T GILROY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CHARGING STATION AVAILABLE HERE... This station can be a little hard to miss the first time around so pay attention to the directions carefully on the T map when you're being guided here. Located behind the In-N-Out, right off San Ysidro Avenue are 10 bays available for use. After coming here about 10 times, I also noticed that there was never a time I had to wait in line to charge up, which really makes the entire experience worthwhile and hassle-free. What I love about this station the most though, is that it is located right beside the In-N-Out, so whenever I'm here, I find myself walking to there for a quick restroom break and then ordering me some fries. =) One huge downside to this location is that there are NO overhangs, so prepare for the sun in your face AND slower charging times during the summer seasons. I really hope they can install some overhangs or solar panels over the bays some day because it really does get HAWT here. read more

Can you say perfect location?? It's genius to put a charging station here at the gilroy outlets. Not only you can go shopping but there's also lots of places to eat with a walking distance. There are ten stalls to use FREE of charge!!! It's smart that tesla made the new 4 stalls accessible by just pulling in because I've seen people have trouble backing in their cars into the charging stalls. I have used this charging station lots of times and all of the charging stalls are always working. I cant wait when tesla opens more FREE charging stations so all the charge anxiety is non existent. It is very stressful to run out of charge in the middle of no where. Came here from the South Bay on our way down to Monterey. When we pulled up on a Sunday morning we saw a few teslas charging but with 10 bays and cars charging up in under an hour, you are either back on the road right away or waiting for no more than an hour. Enough time to shop at the outlets and grab a coffee before hitting the open road again. The location is clutch; next to shopping, food, freeway, and on a major route to and from Bay Area to LA. I had a choice between this one and casa de fruta but at 340am I think it will be better to charge here close to 101 and not lose the momentum so to speak. Quick chargers here. When you think you're right, you don't think of chargers you think automatically about garlic and the flight lines for the glide of planes nearby or dirt bike racing or the farms we were visiting, friends and family mainly family and they told us that there's a brand new charging area here that we should check out it's right next to shops, coffee and gas stations even though we don't need a gas station since we drive a Tesla they have a vending machine right next to it if it's after hours but I think it was only taking coins at the time in cash so if you wanted to use your card, be mindful of that But it is right next to gas stations food spots and if you're there during the day it's in the shopping center next to multiple shopping centers very convenient forward facing and the standard reverse back up to charge stop by this place leave a review. make sure you contact them if there's anything wrong with any of the chargers for a community of Tesla owners together is better. read more

Essential Supercharger for the LA to SF road trip. Plenty of charging spots available, and great location to shop while charging. Charging rate of over 200 miles per hour get you back on the road quick. Gilroy premium outlet shops are just a short walk away. Shopping deals aren't great, but it's a nice little walk to stretch the legs for a while. Quick restroom or snack stop at McDonalds if the kids are hungry. Great location to charge up before cruising around SF, Palo Alto or other Bay Area destination. read more

Not sure why people like this supercharger. Today, at least 2-3 chargers do not work at all. Several seem to charge no faster than 60kW. Once we found a charger that worked, the fastest charge I saw was at 85kW. And with all the bum chargers and how busy it is with only 16 stalls, cars were moving all around like musical chairs trying to move their car to a working spot. read more

Awesomesauce. I've never waited. There are a lot of chargers here.. Sorry I don't know the exact amount... maybe 12? Anyway the mall is usually open late every night except Sunday. The in-n-out is open late. So while you are charging if you need to use the rest room those are your options. I like that the the chargers are easy to find, they are in the parking lot right on the street. They have always worked well for me and I have been using this location since November 2014. read more

Super charging is always great. Added bonus is the walk to the bathroom was about 10 min for my daughter and I. It took us 20 min to go to the bathroom and back. By then, the car had charged 100 miles. Awesome place to stretch your legs and to charge your car. read more

This location now has 10 charging stations. It rarely fills up except for the weekends around noon time. It is at an Outlet and close to Denny's, In and Out Burgers, McDonalds, King Eggrolls, and Tung Kee. If you are here beyond 10 or 11pm, the parking lot lights are off so it gets dark. However, a security patrol car comes around every 10 minutes. read more
