This is one of our favorite little places to go Thursday through Sat as they are closed Sunday through Wednesday. They always greet you with a smile and make you feel like welcomed. Great value. Generous serving sizes. Cash discounts. Brisket could use more smoke. Too much 'Texas Cheat'. Produces moist, tender bbq. but if not enough smoke first, not enough flavor. I go there often, just wish there was more smoke on the brisket. read more

Some of the best ribs in the Houston area! Fall off the bone with great smokey flavor with a tasty peppery rub. Bbq sauce is flavorful and they put it on the side. Prices are decent as well. I always get the coleslaw and potato salad to go with the ribs. Place is fairly small and only open Thursday thru sat. Its a bbq diamond in the rough! Worth the drive on a weekend. read more

I am a cook, I've travelled the world, and I don't give reviews often. The service was okay, but the food is not great for the price. I grew up here, but I wouldn't recommend family from abroad to try this food as an example of Texan BBQ, because I've had better Texan BBQ from other restaurants. I come here every time I go to the lake and even pick up to cater events. They have a drive threw window that makes it really convenient to take back to your house and for just a quick pick-up meal. They have the best ribs I have ever had and I've had ribs from many famous places all throughout the south. Also their baked potato salad is a must grab. It taste amazing cold and heated up. This is the only BBQ I eat in montgomery county. The food is awesome and the family service is great. You gotta try the spice chicken and my favorite the sausage wrap. Great moist, smoked, succulent brisket with a nice charred crust! I vacation nearby frequently and have seen this place for years but never stopped. Big mistake as this place has some of the best brisket I have ever had (on par with all the central texas greats that you are thinking of). I ordered a one meat plate and 1/2 lb. chopped beef. I thought the person taking the order asked about the 1/2 lb. meat and I answered chopped beef. She was actually asking about the one meat plate where I wanted ribs. I asked her to change it when the order came out and she said she would have to ask the boss. I was standing next to another customer when the owner came out and said, "Which one of you wanted to change your order?" I answered me. He then said, "at what f****** time did you decide you wanted ribs?" I was stunned, to say the least. I apologized, got the food I wanted and left. I have been going here since it opened. They catered my daughter's wedding. I am not used to, and do not accept being spoken to like that from anybody! I don't know if I will ever go back. read more

Very impressed, especially with the owner. Visiting from Minnesota, we really liked their brisket and so we ordered some to take back home with us. They packed it up for us and the owner told us that there would be fat on it to make it moist and told us how to cut it off. He was right on and it was very good when we heated it up at home, especially with their delicious sauce. We also tasted their ribs and they were meaty and delicious too. My wife and I were staying on Lake Conroe for the week, and had heard about the local BBQ restaurant that was only open for business on three days (Thu-Sat). So, when we drove by and saw it open, we figured it was fate. At 2:30 pm on a Thursday, I wasn't really hungry, but I wanted to give it a fair trial -- ordered the 2 meat plate (sliced brisket & ribs) with 2 sides (Baked Potato "casserole" & Pinto Beans). The Missus had to have her chopped beef sandwich, so she helped me out with my sides. So early, the place was dead quiet, except for a fairly busy drive-thru business. We had the small indoor dining area (picnic tables & Texas motif) all to ourselves. I thought the food was very reasonably priced. Quantity . . . a bit short -- only two (2) ribs, but they were moist and meaty. But, the sliced beef brisket was outstanding -- Eight (8) quarter inch slices! Made two good sized sandwiches on the supplied sliced bread, and still took half of it home. No "condiments" or extra napkins evident. Asked for and received extra BBQ sauce and it was excellent. We washed the meal down with fresh sweet tea, and that was it. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Just a side note: The "Baked Potato Casserole" was really a cold potato salad dish with reminders of a loaded baked potato in its makings. Good meal. Good price. Go Hungry. Thumbs Up! read more

My husband and I have frequented this BBQ place since it opened. Love Danny's BBQ..BUT..my husband went in the other day to order 2 things. He misunderstood the girl at the counter and got the wrong meat in his platter. He asked to please change it as this was not what he wanted. The owner came out and cursed at my husband!! I was appalled. He would appreciate an apology and feels it would be very difficult for us to go back there under these conditions. read more

Not sure why everyone raves about this place. It's ok at best. Had the ribs and chicken plate with baked potato casserole and coleslaw. Ribs were good but chicken was dry. Coleslaw had no taste besides cabbage and the casserole was really just potato salad, not what I expected. You can't get fries after 3 pm, not sure why. On the plus side, their peach cobbler was delicious, but no ice cream available. This place feels and looks like someone that loves to BBQ and created a very small restaurant.
