Some of the shittiest customer support I've ever dealt with. i bought tame impala tickets back last December. i received an email from TBO saying i could be refunded for the tickets as long as i mail them back. the address they provided in the email didn't make a whole lot of sense to me so i emailed asking if they could clarify the address, to no response. there was also a deadline on the refunds that i couldn't meet due to the short notice on refunds and their absolute shit customer service. if i could give 0 stars i would because there is absolutely nothing positive about them. read more

I was on hold for over 30 minutes and then they hung up on me?!? Terrible customer service. If you're going to have a large concert, make it so that if the code is not working that your phone lines won't overload. They had been open for about 5 minutes before I called Trying to buy concert tickets with my legit ticketmaster verified code and the antiquated site kept saying the code was invalid. If I could give ZERO stars, that's what I'd do! This has got to be the most INCOMPETENT ticketing office I have ever seen!!!! I have been to shows all over and have to say I have never had such horrible service. I was allowed to purchase presale Lady Gaga tix today...yeah we all know this is going to be a big show and you'd better have your system running properly! I logged in the second I was allowed to do so, snatched 8 EXCELLENT seats and sat in the "Texas Box Office Virtual Waiting Room" for 30 minutes. I finally reached a live person via telephone, she was clueless. Couldn't find my info...I had entered my name, address, credit cad number and no one can find me in the the system. So she looks for my seats..."Oh, sorry, those are no longer available." She then tells me that she can't secure tix for me, but that I have to log back in online and try again. OMG REALLY?! So my kids are now in the f'n nose bleed seats, while some scalper will be taking my orignal seats and gouging some pathetic teen/tweens who are dying to see the show. This site absolutely sucks. I just bought tickets for an event, and when I started the process a clock started ticking. Okay, that's normal. It puts pressure on you, though, so things need to be clear. They are anything but clear on this terrible site. You would think that there would be a seating chart I could look at while buying my tickets, right? Isn't that the most basic thing in the world about buying a ticket to a concert?? Hello!! But there wasn't one. Oh sure, there was one hidden at the START of the process that I found later, but nothing at all while I'm under pressure trying to buy the tickets. But I initially ordered 2 tickets, found out my wife couldn't go, tried to change it to one ticket. The site won't let you. On top of that the method for releasing a ticket obscures the method of getting back to the shopping cart. It pushes you back to the start of the process. There is a little cart/clock image at the top of the page next to the time you have left. Obviously that's there to tell you how much time the item will remain in your cart, right? Well, surprise surprise, you can click on the little funky picture to get back to you cart. Does it say that ANYWHERE? No it does not. Worst ticket buying experience of my life. I would avoid this site like the plague if I could, but of course they've got a monopoly. So they don't have to be concerned about the customer experience. And believe me, they aren't. read more

Hey friends do not order through these guys WORST customer service ever. Ordered tickets and they were sent to Round Rock, I live in Austin. So they were sent back to Secure Box. Sent me email told to do chat online. THAT was a joke chat online threw me off line 4 x finally got an agent to help through the whole thing. Said I would not be charged shipping and should recieve my tickets next day. Next day came no tickets, as welll as 2nd day no tickets. But I did get to emails saying I needed to contact them issue with my tickets. So I call boy oh boy, got sent to 3 different agents 35 minutes later, they say i will get them Sat delivery. And a store credit for the shipping, I don't want store credit i will never buy tickets again from them. UGH!!! read more

If there was a zero I would rate this as such. I have never had a good experience purchasing tickets through Texas Box Office and have always found the experience frustrating and just outdated. As a longtime George Strait fanclub member I have always been able to purchase tickets during the presale, usually a few days just before they go on sale to the general public. I have usually gotten pretty good seats, not great, but good. The only times I have ever encountered any headaches with the presale have been via Texas Box Office. Not even getting tickets to his Las Vegas show a couple years back were as difficult as getting them in Austin. George's final tour is in 2014 and no doubt I knew tickets were selling out quick and fast. Knowing that, I was not expecting great seats, even with the presale. Upon browsing the Texas Box Office site the night prior to the presale I saw what seemed to be four other presales as well. The Country Music Association, Jason Aldean, American Express, and all other VIP all had presales. After seeing that I certainly was not expecting great seats. So, I logged on at 9:55am, five minutes before the presale, just to check things out. Come 10:00am, I logged in with my fanclub username and....as someone stated before got lost in the "Texas Box Office Virtual Waiting Room." Screen kept idling and saying wait, don't refresh or hit back button. After about six minutes I tried my iPad, all the while keeping an eye on my macbook screen. From there I got lost in some 60 second countdown saying something about the site being overloaded and after 60 seconds the site would refresh and try again. Well from there I sat until about 10:30 frustrated and finally, FINALLY something seemed to be happening. I logged in again with my fanclub username and... Sorry, no price range ticket match found. Or something like that. It was pretty safe to assume that all presale tickets had already sold out. I decided to wait until later in the evening after work to try again since it stated the presale would be from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Once home, I tried at 6:30pm, only to find the presale link had been removed from the website. A phone call to Texas Box Office transferred to saying I was calling in during after hours. Thanks Texas Box Office. Thanks for NOTHING. EDIT: At StubHub, you can already find over 2,000 tickets for George's Austin, TX show. The presale started the day of this post (Tuesday, October 15th) and the public on sale date isn't even until Friday, October 18th. Oh, and the most expensive floor ticket is currently going for just a mere $9,500...that's right...almost 10K for tickets that haven't even gone on sale yet to the general public! read more

Worst ticket buying experience ever. I've bought tickets for concerts all over Texas for the past 10 years and I have never had as poor of an experience. When you make your purchase with a credit card, don't verify your address or resubmit the validation form more than once. It won't work. Also, the system "charges" your card/puts the funds on hold every time you hit submit. You have to then call the box office to fax a letter to your bank to take those funds off hold. Don't expect an ounce of customer service, either. A manager stated to me that the above problem happens to many people, and if they tried to make "exceptions" for every customer that had the above issue, there would be no way they could accommodate all of the complaints. So they know the problem and have not put forth any effort to fix it. This Black Keys will be the first and last concert I see at the Erwin Center. Don't make the same mistake I made, and save yourself the headache. read more

Like most of the reviews here, if I could rate Texas Box Office (TBO) a Zero, then I would. We were trying to purchase tickets as part of the American Express presale for the George Strait concert. We were able to get tickets in section 40 in our cart and with plenty of time remaining on the countdown and all the information entered correctly as a returning customer, we hit submit and the system returned a message that it was unable to secure our tickets. WHAT?! Given the system screwed up, we looked at the TBO contact page on the website. Seeing there was a line for ticket sales and a line for administration, we chose to call the administration line since we wanted to speak to someone about addressing this issue. The line asked us to leave a voice mail so we did - still waiting on a call back. So that was on Tuesday, so Thursday morning, we called again and a person answered and he was polite and indicated that we needed to call the sales line to see if they could help us given what had happened. He then warned me that they had just been going through another presale and I should wait a little while because they were swamped. With regard to my letting him know that I had left a voicemail and never gotten a call back, he said that they had a lot of calls and voicemails due to system problems and the he had tried to return some of them on the administration line but could not get to them all. Later, I called the ticket line, held for a while and then got connected to a person. I asked the lady who answered if she could help me with a problem that we experienced and began to walk her through the situation and heard a loud click - yep I was disconnected. Let's presume that was just an accident - at least I hope so... So I called back again and held for a while and got connected to a different person who politely listened to my issue. She then asked me to hold while she spoke with her manager. When she came back I was told, that there was nothing that they could do, there had been a number of issues including website/system crashes and I should try to buy tickets in the general public sale on Friday. I politely asked if there was someone else I could speak with regarding the issue. She said yes that her supervisor was at his desk and could take my call. She transferred me and instead of taking my call, I went to Tom's voicemail (hmmm), I left Tom a voice mail and you guessed it - I am still waiting on a call back!!! There was a day when companies cared about how they treated their customers. Having lived in the Metroplex for 15 years before moving to Austin (been here 12 years now), I have always been underwhelmed with TBO and the Frank Erwin Center but this experience takes the cake. Two calls never returned and when two of their employees admit to me that the issue we experienced was due to their system/website crashing and they still won't provide any assistance - really... What stellar customer service - NOT. If the TBO folks read these reviews or the venues that they serve read these reviews, it is time to move to the 21st century. Disband/fire/outsource the TBO company/function to a real event ticket management company like Ticketmaster or AXS who actually have the infrastructure to support the spikes that come with presale and high demand concert events and oh yeah they have professional agents answer the phones who will actually try to help solve problems for their customers. But alas, TBO gets what they earned in terms of this review, the charity star. read more

Terrible Customer Service so disappointed we bought tickets online for Sat then when I printed them they were for Friday I was very disappointed that they did that because it's my daughters first time and she was so excited and to watch her cry while we had to let her and my neice know they couldn't go was the worst feeling not to mention the money we spent that know we are being told they won't refund nor make the tickets for the day I clicked on. Purchased presale Paul McCartney tickets and received confirmation only a week later to find out they had cancelled my order and I did not receive an email about the cancellation and had I not had a back up plan would have been SOL to see an idol of mine since I was a child. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but it proved me wrong again.not only will you not get tickets, it will take your money numerous times without a clue to the consumer. Then you're stuck with overdraft fees until they release your money. If the performers only knew how many customers they lose because of this. This place charged my account $294 six (6) times, all while asking me to confirm my home address six (6) times. BUYER BEWARE!!! There's no way they would even sell you that many tickets, there's an eight (8) ticket limit. This would've amounted to 12 tickets.
