I travel for work from out of state, and I ask people for recommendations on where to eat. I was told the restaurant right next door (Rosa's) was great, but that Texas Burger was bad. I was also told that the Texas Burgers in Midland and Odessa were good. I was intrigued. So I took this as a challenge. How bad could it be? Well, it could've been much better. The restaurant was clean. I got my food to go. I had to ask questions a few ways to find out what was on the burger. I also got an order of fried shrimp as a side (those were fine; it's very hard to ruin fried shrimp). Good food, great atmosphere, amazing customer service. New to the area, my husband suggested we try this place out. Not being a burger eater, I'm typically not seeking burger joints, however, the menu seemed fitting for my family so we decided to try it. And ... DEFINITELY recommend! I was blown away by how courteous and friendly the staff was. Let me clarify - ALL of the staff. We were greeted by at least 4 staff members, all eager to assist us upon our arrival. The gentleman that took our order was patient as we tried to obtain food requests from our 5yo and 2yo. Every single booth was cleaned and inviting. Once my children picked their preferred booth we didn't wait long before our food was ready. Numbers are called for customers to pick up orders from the counter, but within seconds staff members are quick to help deliver your food to you. My son ate his grilled cheese without hesitation and my daughter devoured her corn dog and fries. (While these may seem like simple orders, these are picky eaters, so I was a happy mom.) My chicken strips were lightly breaded with actual white meat inside - not weird blended meat like some places can provide. My husband enjoyed a well sized double burger. Having immediately seen the ice cream stand upon walking in, our children, of course, wanted to have some after eating their lunch. We each ordered one scoop - trying chocolate, strawberry (with actual strawberries), and mint chocolate chip. All eaters were satisfied. The restaurant remained busy, but not crowded. A television sharing a news station was on in the background. The atmosphere was welcoming - not too loud, but not library quiet either. Staff continued to keep all areas cleaned and the demeanor of each employee remained positive, professional and helpful. Solid 1.5, 2 is pretty gracious. They definitely do not seem like they were prepared to open. Im sure once they work out all the kinks they'll be on or with sonic and every other fast food place. We placed our order, I said no tomatoes and got tomatoes. We got our kids burgers with cheese, pickles, ketchup only....no cheese on either burger. They didn't give me my fries. All items were on the receipt. After getting it fixed the manager asked which cashier rang us up. We explained it our order was correct, just not made that way but I guess they've had a lot of complaints because they stood behind cashiers. As far as quality, no seasoning. I would compare this to if Sonic and Dairy Queen had a child of lesser quality. To fix the kids burgers they threw a slice on, didn't let it melt and handed it back. Another customer has asked for no mustard on their hot dog and it was smothered. When he brought it up the guy helping said, so do you want a new one? Like he was confused. Will probably try again after they've been opened for a year but definitely not in a rush. Terrible food unfortunately. Unless you like eating bloody burgers that are barely cooked with smushed buns and grey, yes GREY hotdogs in a soggy bun that completely sticks to the container it is in, I would avoid this place. They also didn't put any cheese on the hotdog. We both threw our food away halfway through because we were worried about food poisoning. It has been bad twice, and that is all the chances we are giving it. It appears the staff needs some training on food preparation. The customer service was okay. The building looks nice. read more

Now imagine being in a giant ass Denny's styled place that has Texas crap plastered all over so it's "Texan" y'all. The food here is absolutely terrible. The "side salad" that came with my steak finger dinner was half a cup of literally brown wilted slimy lettuce. French fries are nearly impossible to mess up, unless you reheat old French fries, which is exactly what they tasted like; soggy, mealy, nasty and inedible. The steak fingers were barely adequate. Seriously, Dairy Queen is miles better. The roll it came with was so doughy, I thought it wasn't fully baked. I truly cannot believe this place is still in business. I should have just burned up the $10 that this meal cost. What a tragic and disgusting experience. Shame on you Texas Burger. You suck. read more

Terrible place. The burgers tasted like cardboard and looked nothing like the pictures advertised. (Sorry, don't have pictures).

The food was extremely cold and tasted like nothing. I had a regular "Texas burger" and it was served with a gallon of mustard but no toppings in sight. The service was slow and I waited forever to have my order taken in the drive through. This restaurant is an affront to the state of Texas and with Rosa's Cafe next door serving food many times better for a lower price, it's unbelievable this place hasn't gone under yet. read more

All I have to say about this place is they miss treat there employees. while eating ,I saw and heard a few things. How one of the employees got in trouble over a banana split on making it! there was to much whip cream and the manger scolded the poor girl in front of customers. very unprofessional poor girl, I can just imagine on how embarrassed she felt. A few weeks later the same girl got sent home I can only imagine For what. Young adults make mistakes! And you managers y'all wont keep employees Y'all need to do better and stop cutting there hours so they can quit and stop telling them labor is to high nothing but lies as I to was a manage. The sweet tea is good that's all I can say. The burger was meh to be honest and the was the highlight. The fries were cold and they tasted and felt like they were from the store. I could not get two bites into the chili dog the bun was old and hard and the dog was cold and felt mushy. My wife ate the chicken tender meal and said her stomach felt off shortly after. This is one of the few burger joints that sells a fresh certified angus burger. If that's not enough, they make their own homemade ice cream in house! Our family always enjoy Texas Burger and are so grateful to finally have one here in San Angelo! The homemade chocolate shakes are the best!! read more

I have only been to this specific Texas Burger a few times, but I grew up in Odessa, and Texas burger was a childhood favorite. Hate to say how much that has changed. I just went through there and let me say how underwhelming it was. Fries were soggy yet undercooked, somehow. The chicken was completely different from all the other times i can remember, and the texture was almost rubbery. The "salad" was literally some lettuce with a whole tomato slice on it like that's something someone would actually eat? My boyfriend ordered the chili cheese fries and shared a few with me and honestly the first bite was pretty good, but the more i ate the more that underwhelming feeling hit me. Left feeling nauseous... The only thing that made the trip there worth it was the gravy. Wouldn't recommend... at least not in San Angelo. read more

I swear this has to be a money laundering scam, because this has to be one of the worst burger joints, and judging by the reviews they don't care. I ate Texas Burger twice, and the only thing uniform about their burger is the disappointment. Tatter-tots served had other fries and fryer garbage, burgers are slathered I mean dretched with mustard to mask super-dry smoked "Angus beef" patty. With the name Texas Burger, you'd expect the quality to match the price, and be on par with BBQ establishment that serves burgers. In truth the quality is well below a Sonic or Burger King; which is hilarious given how the other two are on the same street. The name presentation for Texas Burger doesn't mean it a place for burger connoisseurs, although burger connoisseurs should eat there just once just to witness how a burger can still be bad despite claims that it was made from angus beef and made in TEXAS. Please if you love burgers pass the Texas Burger and continue forward on Knickerbocker, there's a Sonic, Wendy's, Burger King, and Whataburger. The other burger joints offer a better quality uniform product at a lower price. read more
