Somehow, every time I've come here, the experience has been excellent. I honestly cannot remember a single bad meal. This isn't a place I visit every week or even every month. It's more of a special occasion destination every few months. Part of the reason is that every visit turns into an event. We always go for the full experience, and by the time we leave, we're completely stuffed, happy, and already talking about when we'll come back. The quality of the food is outstanding. Everything arrives hot, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Whether it's one of the signature cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork, or something from the Market Table, I've yet to find an item that disappointed me. Usually, by the end of the meal, I've lost track of how many different things I've tried because I'm too busy enjoying all of it. One thing that always makes me laugh is the famous red and green card system. In theory, you flip the card to green when you want more food and red when you need a break. In reality, after a few visits, the staff seems to remember what you like. I've had servers and gauchos walk by with cuts they know I enjoy and offer them before I even have a chance to flip the card. That's not a complaint. It's actually one of the reasons the experience feels so personal. The service deserves just as much praise as the food. From the moment you walk through the door, you're welcomed warmly. Throughout the meal, someone is always checking to make sure you're enjoying yourself, asking if you need anything, and making sure the experience lives up to expectations. It never feels forced or scripted. The staff genuinely seems to care that you're having a great time. We usually arrive around 5:00 or 5:30, before the dinner rush really gets going. That timing has always worked well for us and allows for a relaxed, enjoyable meal without feeling crowded or rushed. Fogo de Chão isn't inexpensive, but that's because you're getting an experience, not just a meal. Between the quality of the food, the attention from the staff, and the overall atmosphere, I've always felt like I got my money's worth. At this point, if someone asks me where to go in Providence for a memorable dinner, Fogo de Chão is always near the top of my list. Fantastic food, exceptional service, and a level of consistency that is surprisingly rare these days. Five stars without hesitation.

Very poor experience and bad food. Pricing options were very confusing, and complicated. The main…read morebuffet line they have out is $11.49 a pound, and then the meat behind the counter is $16.49. I took about a pound and a half from the buffet of the beef stew, chicken, rice, plantains, and tomato salad, and a cheese ball. Then I ordered separately the meat behind the counter. The more expensive meat that was supposed to be medium rare was incredibly gamy, hard to swallow and quite under seasoned. Not good at all. That was a waste. The beef stew was also under seasoned, the sauce lacked flavor, and taste. This was softer, it was fine meat but nothing that should be restaurant grade. The rice resembled a sea. Someone dumped way too much salt in, it was dreadful. The tomato salad was not salted, and had no dressing, a lackluster item. The plantains were not crisp as they should be. The cheese bread ball, a cheese flavored rock. Worthless. Lastly to the chicken which was the brightest spot, it was nice and soft and juicy, perhaps the only good thing on that whole buffet line. And this didnt come close to cutting it for me. As if I wanted more I would have to keep on paying and I was already $30 down. I never intended to spend so much. The pricing seems fair but once you start eating, you will go though plates and have to stop yourself before the bill is in the $40 plus dollar range. It makes no sense why they charge per pound and not just do one charge and it be ayce. Charging 11.49 for rice or beans, at 11.49 at the same price as the beef stew is ridiculous. The sauces that they have also are all mass produced processed junk. They didn't taste fresh. Terrible waste of money, won't be back find literally any other restaurant to go to. Another thing, this restaurant had flags around there store, I believe for the world cup, you would think this is fine and dandy however in the front of the store a freaking NORTH KOREA flag was hung up, and get this, it went right next to a Russia, China & Iran flag!!! This is a massive naivety, even though I don't believe it was deliberate it is unacceptable.

There are tables but the spot in general is no-frills. I got the yellow rice and peas, black beans, Maduros, Pernil, and steak. Everything was great but I wasn't a fan of the maduros. They were way too mushy for my liking. I wish they had pao de queijo! The staff was friendly and quick. Great spot for a quick and affordable bite.

Every restaurant has a day here and there where they just don't meet expectations, this was one of them. I did express my disappointment to the main server, who confirmed they were short staffed and apologized. Our main sever and all the gauchos were very good and friendly. The main server was on top of everything, but the gaucho service was extremely slow. My wife and son barely ate much meat due to the slow service. I ate more, but waited and waited for several cuts, which made it to our table not nearly enough. I usually finish off with the Picanha, but after asking specifically for this cut, waiting nearly 30 minutes with my family sitting impatiently, I threw in the towel and flipped my card to red and asked for the check. The steaks and meats that came out were excellent, with maybe 1 cut being a little over cooked. I know we are in a time where finding, hiring and retaining quality employees is challenging, but it's still disappointing when you pay good money for a higher end restaurant and leave disappointed. Will I go back? Of course, it is Texas de Brazil. I have dined at all 5 of their restaurants in NY and Albany is usually good, but this isn't my first disappointment at the Albany location. It makes me second guess making the trek there, versus finding a steakhouse closer to me.

In a nutshell, this spot is decent. I'm not really interested in any kind of gamey meats and don't eat a lot of meat in general, but once in a while is fine. I didn't find the selections to be worthy of asking for seconds or even finishing some of the firsts. Several pieces of different meat options were on the dry side and overall just didn't do it for me. I will say that the single slice of filet mignon that I had was excellent. The salad bar is the star here. Oddly enough, one of my favorite things was the pineapple carpaccio - thinly sliced pineapple in what seemed to be a brown sugar syrup situation. They had a lovely smoked salmon and so many other salads to choose from that it was almost overwhelming. The spot that I went to in the past had sushi grade raw salmon and I was hoping to find that here (as mentioned, it was smoked). Our friends that really enjoy meat options noticed that several different choices were never offered to our table. Overall not bad...but it wasn't my favorite and quite sure I won't rush back any time soon.
