My son had never been here before so I decided to have a visit after we saw clue at the BJCC concert hall. The only negative is they don't open until 4 PM on Sunday so we had to wait around. Kallie was our waitress, and she was very attentive and personable. Surprisingly, there was no sweet tea so my son got a strawberry limeade that he absolutely loved. I just got the salad bar while my son got the full dinner. The cheese bread was delicious and this is coming from a daughter of a Brazilian mom. Some of the sides that are brought out are garlic, mashed potatoes, french fries, and fried plantains. Honestly, the salad bar has so much cold and hot food. It's really enough for a person unless you're really into eating meat it was very clean and organized. You have a chip that is red and green. You leave on green when you want the meats. The salad bar has lobster bisque which is so delicious I will definitely be back and enjoy the salad bar. I encourage you to make a reservation prior to your visit. The bathrooms were very clean. 4.5 stars....went on a night that was not busy. I have seen it be packed on other days so today was a blessing! The food was delicious and I loved everything. The server was a little bit out of it but that's ok. We had a very good dinner and the atmosphere was great. The meat servers were all professional and nice. The meats were the star of the show. My fave was the beef rib. I forget what it was called. It was so tender and smooth like butter. The other nice thing is they came around at least twice for everything so if you missed it or wanted more, you had another chance. I loved their dessert selection. Came here for my husband's birthday dinner. I was excited about the salad bar since there aren't too many places that have them any more. Since this is a buffet, you can get right to it. There are basically two prices on the menu--one for salad bar only and one for salad bar and meat. I decided to get both since the salad bar was disappointing to me. I was hoping to make a big salad with lots of toppings but this is more like lettuce and sides. I definitely could have made a meal out of it it just wasn't what I was looking for. I didn't see too many things you could actually put on the salad. They had cucumber salad but no cucumbers. Also had shrimp salad. One side of the salad bar is like charcuterie which is great if that's what you want. They have a section that has one soup and warm sides presumably to go with the meat. The meat comes out fast as soon as you flip your card to green. I liked all the meat I tried with the exception of the Parmesan chicken. Servers were all very nice. Overall it was a decent meal. Let's start by saying amazing job to all the staff. We had dinner reservations at 5:30, which was a perfect time before the crowd really started to come in that evening. They explained the drink menu and the experience we were about to have together. Now I'm just going to say one of the best salad bars in the town, and even a charcuterie board with many options. They have various meat options, including steak, pork, and chicken. Out of the three different desserts, my favorite was the cheesecake. The bathroom has excellent lighting and is very clean. The last time I came to Texas de Brazil was prior to me being on Yelp. Sooooo it's been over a minimum of 7 years since my last visit. I recall coming here for my birthday. Anyway, we had a 630 pm reservation on a Tuesday. We ended up arriving early and the staff was very accommodating to seat us early. Once we were seated our server came over and explained the menu to us , as my guest had never been here before. We both enjoyed the salad bar! Sooo many endless options available. We both felt like the meats were overcooked. Unfortunately, we didn't receive many medium rare pieces. The personal fav was the flank. Absolutely tasty and the right temperature! The price is indeed worth it because there is endless food. I didn't love my $16 glass of cab nor my dirty martini (extra dirty). Definitely could have skipped them both and been just fine with water! Overall, we enjoyed coming here. The service was decent and not overbearing. Where to start. This was our first time going to any Texas De Brazil and it was amazing, the service was great, we never had to look for the meat service, the hot bar was excellent as was the salad bar. The ambience was very nice, the restaurant as a whole was very well decorated and quiet just a lovely experience all together. Will definitely be coming back. The only thing I would as to be changed is to take the hot spices out of the shrimp salad or have a milder version and less water in broth in the mushrooms they had a watery taste, like extra water was added; maybe cook them down some more. My daughter and I were visiting the Birmingham area one Saturday to catch a UFL game at Protective Stadium. Having been here before, we knew that Texas de was right across the street. The game started at 6 pm, so a 4pm reservation for early dinner was going to be perfect. We rolled into Birmingham a bit early, so we were going to have to wait, along with other hungry patrons, for the 4pm opening. While doing so, we decided to head across the street to the ticket office to see if we could get physical tickets to the game as souvenirs instead of the stagnant, cold electronic ones on the phone. Nope. They don't do that. Bummer. Oh well, back to the restaurant. Ahhh, but on the way back, I spied on the ground, something which looked like an advertisement for the game. Oh, a souvenir, I thought. I picked it up. It turned out to be an All Access game pass!!! There was a name on it, and of course, I had to Google it. It belonged to a cop. Hmmmmm, I should probably turn it in. We were some of the first guests to be let into the restaurant when they opened, and also the first to attack the extensive salad bar. Which is a meal in itself. A huge variety of cold meats, vegetables, cheese, fruit, you name it. There are also hot side dishes, too. Rice, potatoes, soup, fish stuff, (blah, if it's from the sea, it's not for me, unless it's seaweed, I love the stuff). The guys with the spears of meat were floating around the dining floor in choreographic splendor. Their offerings of succulent farm animals were being expertly sliced off the bone and teased off skewers to meet their ultimate destination, your plate. Right between the pile of salami and mound of artichoke hearts. Just brush aside the roasted garlic to make room. Please be hungry when you get there, and layer it on, or should I say, layer it in. Remember, there's always room for another sun-dried tomato. Quick Tip: Dessert will cost you extra. As decadent as it looks, resist the urge and head across the street to hit the craft table at the game. A lucky find can open a lot of doors. read more

If Yelp had 7 stars, these folks would have them. Wonderful fresh food and an unbelievable salad bar, followed by an epicurean carnivore experience. I will say the Passion Fruit Caipirinha is next level tasty. Those gauchos glide through the tables with skewers of tasty meat delights with such efficiency that it surpasses one's ability to chew rapidly. The sides they give you are just ok. The fries weren't good and the fried banana was ok but we got one that was pretty much cremated. You only get two. The potatoes were pretty tasty. The salad bar is lackluster and the lobster bisque I had just wasn't a good lobster bisque. I was disappointed. The meats were pretty tasty though. Salad bar did not have balsamic vinegar and 5 team members that I interacted with had no idea what I was saying (language barrier.) BreaD came out hot and fresh but all of the sides came out at different times. Was weird French fries was one of the three sides and were barely warm as well as the bananas. Years ago, there was a Texas de Brazil in Vestavia Hills near our house. We went once and weren't that impressed because the meat was well done and very dry. Jump to 2023, and we received a Texas de Brazil gift card from our kids. My husband and I were excited to try the restaurant a second time. Our second experience was so much better. I highly recommend it and definitely bring an appetite. If you have never been, it is a cool concept. They have buffet style tables with vegetables and salads and all-you-can-eat grilled meat that is carved tableside. The meat this time was good, medium well, and not dry. So much better. My favorite meats were the bacon wrapped filet and chicken. My husband enjoyed the flank steak and the lamb, and yes, it was all you could eat! My suggestion is to take your time and slowly try everything. Otherwise, you will get overwhelmed with the amount of food that comes your way. Our servers were Journey and Brianna, and they were both very personable. I highly recommend both of them. Some other favorites of the night were the cocktails. Journey and Brianna recommended the Caipirinha, which is a Brazilian cocktail. We tried the peach, and it was delicious. They recommended the coconut, so we tried it, and they were right. So good!! Besides the meat coming to your table. They will also bring cheese bread, garlic mash potatoes, and sweet bananas. All were great. Definitely try the cheese bread, especially when it is hot and right out of the oven. It is glutton free with white cheddar in the middle. My Grandgirls and I celebrated their perfect report cards here recently. Went there at opening time. The staff was outstanding and rewarded them for their efforts with free desserts. We decided to only have the salad and soup because we had a family event later. It was outstanding and might be what we do in future visits. Everything was fresh and healthy. The lobster bisque and bread was an amazing addition. Before I dropped them at home later, they were already excited for duplicate grades to go back. I love taking them out and enjoying great food. They are little foodies just like me. We all really enjoyed lunch and will be back next grading period if not before. read more

As a to go/ delivery order.... It was near perfect! So many well seasoned meats that were cooked perfectly!.... Except the filet. The only reason I cannot leave a 5/5 is the Filet was asked for medium rare and some pieces were medium well and others rare. A little home cooking fixed the undercooked pieces but the OVER cooked pieces could not be made better. The sides were Devine. Fresh ingredients with wonderful flavors! The cheese bread is addictive, I should have ordered more!! The Chimichurri is such a nice touch and addition to the order and truly complements every cut of meat. Just went tonight (6-29-25) for our anniversary dinner. By far the worst dining experience of my life. Started fine at first. We were seated quickly. Waiter was nice and explained everything to us since it was our first time. I asked if they had any medium well meat. He says yes and that there will be a variety of meats at different temperature on offer. Drinks were quick. There was hot food (gratin potatoes, rice, soup) and salad/charcuterie things to the side. All of it was very tasty. Amazing salad bar. To note: they have signs on the table that you flip over to indicate you're ready for or are finished with your meat. Everything was great up until the meat course. We wanted to finish our salad before moving in to meat. I was fixing to get up and grab new plates for us since we were finally ready. We were bombarded with people before we could even get up and get new plates, let alone flip our table signs over. They kept swarming me specifically because they had medium well meat on their skewer but my boyfriend also felt very harassed. He was told a piece of meat was well done but it was absolutely not. They had also clearly been off the heat for a bit because none of the meat was hot at all. It wasn't stone cold but it certainly wasn't hot either. Once I had a bit of everything I wanted to try I tried to tell two people no. I was flustered because I had one on each side of me. I ended up inhaling too quickly and something spicy got caught in the back of my throat. I started coughing uncontrollably. They ran off and I started chugging water. I had put chimichuri on my food and the oil was not going down easy so it just lingered. Ran out of water very quickly. My throat was burning and it hurt SO badly. The drainage was triggering my acid reflux which just made it worse. I was coughing for quite a while and nobody offered me water even though at least 4 servers walked by in the interim. I was very upset and started to feel sick so I asked my boyfriend if we could leave. We asked for the check, explained what was going on and our waiter brought it to us. He apologized and said he would bring us the manager. We paid the check and told her what was happening. She also apologized but sounded extremely insincere and just acted like she couldn't be bothered to deal with us. She said that she would speak to them and that this had been an issue before multiple times. I'm sorry but if you've had to speak to them multiple times this should have been taken care of a long time ago. Her tone makes us doubt whether she even will speak to them. Like I said, we paid and then we left. On the way home we decided to call them because truthfully, we should have been offered something more than what transpired to make up for the experience. They didn't do anything to make the situation right. When we got home, we called them and asked to speak to a manager. We asked for a refund and they basically just hung up. We called back and they put us on hold for so long that it had to have been deliberate. We hung up, called again and got hold of the district manager. They basically blew us off and told us they couldn't go anything and to call corporate on Monday. We would have accepted whatever they thought was appropriate but to basically tell us to screw off with no proper apology for what happened is unacceptable. Both I and my boyfriend have worked in food for years and we would be extremely embarrassed to have someone experience this and then not do anything about it. It's one thing to have a bad night occasionally but the way it's handled really shapes people's opinion of your establishment. This situation has guaranteed we will not be stepping foot back on their premises. For $50+ per person, there are much better deals around and I would go literally anywhere else before going back. read more

The salad dressing wasn't nasty, i took one bite and put it down. Simply and plainly the meat was over medium rare more like mid well and well done on most items. The steaks were under seasoned. We decided to dine in for the first time, and our waitress was well-informed and made sure we knew the deal before getting started with our plates. The ambience was dim but lively. It got overwhelming with so many meats being offered, even when the coasters were flipped to red, but the cuts were still very good (especially the picanha). Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely like to return. This is a great place, although I'm not sure the staff always adheres to the chips on the table. One size means stop, and the other indicates you're ready for another slice of meat of sorts. The venue is adequately lit and premises very well kept. Decor is beautiful and the location is great. Parking can be iffy, however that's normal in any city. For NYE dinner we decided on Texas de Brazil. We hadn't been here in years. It was definitely the right choice. It was just as good as I remembered. Wonderful service and atmosphere, and of course all the food was amazing. I love all the wonderful choices at the salad bar. The lobster bisque was especially good. Although they were all delicious, everyone particularly liked the parmesan crusted pork, flank steak and the chicken. They also bring crinkle fries which was a strange new surprise. My favorite meats in order are the flank steak, steak picante, and of course but not least filet minion and filet minion wrapped in bacon! The Salad bar is now served Corona Style. The server gave us a piece of paper and pen and had us check off what we wanted her to plate for us. All the servers had masks and the tables are the proper distanced. The servers were great! So we haven't been to Texas de Brazil in years but we were invited to a birthday dinner last night -Saturday night. Why why why ........ why does this restaurant not have valet parking by now. I thought that 50$ per person might come with parking - but no. There was an event at the BJCC so to top it all off we had to pay 20$ for parking because we could not find any other spaces. We had all the meats - the flank steak was the best. The food on the serve yourself bar was great as well. The service was ok. Our server was definitely in no hurry and the restaurant said they ran out of the famous fried bananas. The air conditioning was also not working so the whole restaurant was warm. While the food is still good -none of this was worth the parking hassle, warm restaurant and the mediocre service. read more

Texas de Brazil was my favorite place in Birmingham, AL. So much so, I purchased what is known as a VIP card. Then Covid-19 hit just after I made the purchase. The parent companies extended the one-year term on the card for a few months. As you know, Covid-19 issues were a few years. When it was somewhat safe to go back to restaurants, I attempted to use the card that was never used once. It was no good. I did not make a scene I just sent a note to the company via email followed by U.S. Mail. Nothing, not a word or a form letter. On that last night many months ago, I just wanted a nice experience. I asked for lamb chops which was a staple there. It seems, to get three small lamb chops, you had to pay extra. No longer included. Made no sense to me. Just raise the price, don't take things away. The service that evening was below average and the salad bar which is a main draw was not well kept. I am an Elite Yelp member. I that that honor very seriously. During the bad time, you had to cut many restaurants some slack. It was a bad time for all. Yet we are still the guests. We are still paying the investment. This is not McDonald's. Our expectation are at the level of the investment to eat there. Why write this review today. I just got yet another email asking me to reserve for Mothers day and by a VIP card. The only challenge was they offered inconsistent cooked rations. We wanted medium well and only the ends were. The middle sections were too rare. Some were almost well done. This made us only get smaller pieces of the cuts we wanted. But we were forced to sit and wait for other cuts to come and had to cherry pick the cuts we wanted. That wasn't fun.
