Not sure where to start. I travel for a living and order takeout at least two or three times a week for the last 10 years. This is only the second bad review I have ever left. I understand businesses are struggling during Covid, but that should be all the more reason to provide superior customer service. Sadly, this dining establishment failed from start to finish. I ordered their two meat takeout option, brought it back to my hotel room and found that all of the meat was too tough to cut with a knife. I called the restaurant and they said they will do their best to fix it, if I bring back the food, which I had to box back up chimichurri and all. I was met by Patrick the manager, who proceeded to inspect my food in front of me to make sure that I was not trying to get what I can only conclude was free meat . He then proceeded to have me sign a piece of paper agreeing to The fact that the new prepared meal was more satisfactory. What is confounding, is that without having even tried it , I was committing to its preparedness. Besides the fact that when I arrived the dinner was not yet ready, (although I had been told it will be ready when I get there). No overt apologies were made for the additional 45 minutes getting this fixed had cost me. My suggestion to Texas de Brazil in Birmingham Alabama is as follows; if you mess up, own it, and do not to make the customer feel as though they had done something wrong. read more

This place is definitely an experience. The salad bar is very diverse and filled with all sorts of tasty things; fruits, veggies, a variety of topping meats, soup and many other things. Of all the meats the filet was my favorite followed by the sirloin. For dessert we ordered the carrot cake and bananas foster pie. Both were delicious and were gone in a flash. My husband went here for the first time for a pre-Valentine's Day meal. This place did not disappoint at all! We got seated immediately. Our server, Oz, didn't an excellent job taking care of us. All of the other severs and and gauchos were extremely attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! The only part that wasn't tremendous was my key lime pie that I got for dessert. Everything else was marvelous. Expect to eat more food than you have ever eaten in one meal! They just keep bringing the meat, bread & potatoes not to mention the unbelievable salad bar. I would like to start out by stating Wendy was a good server. She took care of our basic needs ie water, drinks, plates. With that being said a few things that I noticed. Upon arrival the hostess did not connect being the first point of contact her energy is important. We were seated by the window for a 5pm reservation. We noticed the floor was extremely slippery just an observation. Our server went over how everything worked since it was our first visit. We were presented with one drink menu for four people and quickly asked what we would like to drink?? Wow slow down, lots of info the minute you sit down. Ummmm only one person had the time to look at the menu. We all visited the salad bar and agreed it had a good selection. Our server took our drink order after that. Then the meat parade started I only have a positive review for the gauchos and the meats. You get lots! While eating the sun was shining directly in one of our eyes, we closed a few of the shades however the main one was broken. I get things break however why sit us there in the first place? 45 mins of squinting is not pleasant especially when nobody would address the issue. Ok the tedious side of me: wipe off the salt and pepper shakers, polish the glasses better, fix the broken toilet paper roll holder. I am a fairly easy going diner but at about $80pp I expect a bit more. Had someone gone the extra mile to correct the fact that the sun was blaring through the window it would have been that little extra that might have made the small things nothing. We will not be rushing back to this location anytime soon. My number one suggestion: tighten up! read more

This restaurant is like no other. There is no menu and just 1 price. Basically, it's salad and meat. The salad bar is fabulous with dozens of good things--including a pretty good sushi. After you eat your salad, you turn your card to green and immediately you will be surrounded with servers with grilled meats. Delicious--and eat all you want. We enjoyed it. I was not quite sure what to expect because two friends gave me totally different descriptions. We arrived fairly early in the evening with no reservations but were seated almost immediately and our waiter was at our table quickly to take our drink orders and direct us to the salad bar. The selection, preparation and presentation was remarkable and we went back to our table and enjoyed everything even though we had made completely different selections. We were told when we were ready for meat to turn our table marker over to green but what we were not told was that is would start a rapid fire selection of many wonderful meats. Some of them were rather salty but if you sliced away the crust it was not a problem. Of the dozens of items we had from the salad bar and the meats only one was less than perfect. The pork was very dry and tasteless but that was hardly a reason to subtract a star. The desert tray was filled with rubber or plastic molds of the real thing but the ones we had were over the top. My only regret was that I had lunch that day and did not come hungrier. I will go back soon. read more

The Birmingham location of Texas De Brazil has the worst customer service that I have ever seen. I made a reservation on Tuesday for a birthday, due to weather the location had closed for the day and proceeded to call me 3 times in a row to tell me that I would have to reschedule the reservation. I did so for Saturday at 6:30 for 4 people, called back the next day and changed it to Saturday at 7:30. Today is Saturday and I received an email saying that I had missed my reservation for Friday at 4:00, which was not apart of any conversation I have had with the staff. I called today when they opened to resolve the issue, when a very rude woman answered the phone, to which I tell her I missed my non-existent reservation and was frustrated about my reservation not being logged for tonight, to which her answer was "okay that's fine then." I will not be coming to this location due to the lack of customer service. read more

Holy cow. That's all I can say. The whole experience was superb. Jason's service was spot-on without being obsequious and the meats which were delivered to our table were utterly fantastic. I recommend the flank steak, filet mignon, beef ribs, and lamb chops, which were PERFECT. The whole experience could not have been better. I went here a week before my baby was born and I was really excited because I always wanted to go to a Brazilian steak house we made reservations which I'm thankful of because the wait time was crazy we were say at a table and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful the waiter we had was kind of a jerk because when I asked for a Virgin daiquiri he quickly asked me why with a snotty attitude I told him I was pregnant he disappeared and we saw he was attentive to the tables who had wine and alcohol we turned our cards over and started to get meat we got our sides 30min later besides the rude waiter the food was great it melt in your mouth the manager was very attentive I can not wait to go back read more

Elaborate salad bar, entertaining entrees, excellent wine selection. Upscale, fun, atmosphere with a very courteous staff. We come for special occasions, and they never disappoint us. Bacon wrapped filet mignon was my personal favorite. 15+ meat options. Flip the card from red to green for unlimited entrees. Back to red signals that you are stuffed and you are done. This is my first review of anything, ever... I typically do not take the time to review anything but the reviews that I read on YELP, prior to my visit to this restuarant, were very helpful and were spot on. Firstly, the food earns five stars. This was some of the best meat that I have ever eaten. Also, the salad bar is outstanding. The food will not disappoint you in any way. The service, however, leaves something to be desired. Our server was very nice and somewhat attentive but appeared to be stretched too thinly. I waited 20 minutes, or so, for a beer and after reminding her that I still had not received my beer, I told her to bring me two so I would not have to wait, again. The gentlemen that go around to the tables with the meat selections were also inconsistent. There was a 10 - 15 minute stretch when everyone at our table was looking around trying to flag down one of these guys to bring anything to our table. As the night went on, however, they seemed to hit their groove and the meat service became more consistent. I dined with a party of six, and it is my recommendation that if you wish to have good conversation while you eat, you may want to consider another restaurant. The atmosphere was very loud. The server had to stand right next to you so that you could hear her and that she could hear you. As a point of reference, I am not a difficult person to please. I am not so narcissistic that I will allow the smallest slight from a server to ruin my night. As a matter of fact, I tipped our server 20% on a $550.00 meal because I did not place the blame at her feet. In my opinion, she did the best that she could with a difficult situation. I too, think that the service will improve over time. If the opportunity presents itself, I would return to this restaurant without too much kicking and screaming. AMAIZING FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE! The concept is quite unique - set menu/set price for unlimited awesomeness. Take it easy on the salad bar, them prepare yourself for the most flavorful selection of meat you have ever had. I would recommend the picanha, flank steak (with chimmichurri), lamb chops, and def save room for the parmesan crusted pork tenderloin. This was my second churrascaria experience. My first was at Rei do Gado in San Diego. I'd say this place didn't quite rank as highly as Rei, but that could be because of nostalgia. I had the full dinner, my wife isn't a big meat eater so she opted for the salad bar (really more of a sides bar). On the whole, service was quick and the meats were all well prepared (most came out a delicious medium rare) but about every 3rd time I was offered filet it was well-done for those of you who like your meat cooked to death. The "salad" bar included everything from a Parmesan wheel, olives (the best green olives I've ever had), prosciutto, salami, shrimp, salmon, some sort of sushi roll, greens, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others. The hot bar had the frequently mentioned (and delicious) lobster bisque, some sort of potatoes au graten the wife loved, and other things I also didn't sample. My wife also LOVED the fried bananas they brought to our table. The atmosphere was great, though I could see how the older and more curmudgeony of patrons would complain about the noise and how closely everyone is seated. In general though, I really feel like the churrascaria experience is unique and a city like Birmingham should feel very grateful that something like Texas de Brazil has set up shop. Lastly, our waiter was Will H. who was like a little white Aziz Ansari and he was the man. He said he was from Baton Rouge and had been asked to help staff the new location, and it was pretty obvious why. If you go I hope you sit in his area and get to enjoy the great service and tip him well. read more

This place is almost identical to Fogo de Chao. Lots of meat on slabs that are continually served. Salad bar was pretty good, and their Lobster Bisque soup was decent (no meat). The little rolls that they put on the tables were really delicious. The meat was also pretty good, in particular the pieces covered in bacon. The green/red cards seemed to be pretty pointless thought, because even on red, I was continually getting offered different meats so didn't really see the point. Overall, was pretty good but I never feel great after eating in places like this. read more

Filet, bacon wrapped filet, sirloin, and short rib were particularly good. The salad bar had a nice variety of things, and I liked the lobster bisque. Caipirinhas were expensive but tasted good. I understand the restaurant is great however I would not recommend purchasing a gift card. I purchased a gift card for my grandson in the amount of $100.00. At the time he went to use it his waiter informed him he could only use 80% of the card. When I contacted the home office I got some crap explanation that it was a happy card. Just went to this location in Birmingham, AL to celebrate Christmas with the family and me returning from a deployment. This is not my first time to Texas de Brazil but to this specific location. The food and server were great! Well ...at the completion of our meal I applied my 20% military discount and my $240 bill came down to $199.93 (I was ecstatic) because I had $200 in Gift Cards from Christmas. Our server then told me both discounts couldn't be applied and I was confused because I only applied one discount, the military. I asked for the manager and he told me because the Gift Cards were purchased at Costco at a discounted rate I couldn't apply "two discounts". I am still super confused by this since the only discount I asked for was military... the manager continued to argue with me and he was incredibly rude. I will not be coming back to any Texas de Brazil ever and and the manager RUINED a nice family night. I can't believe of the lack of customer service he provided. I always though the customer was right and he should have done the right thing for the circumstance and just discounted both. Texas de Brazil needs to reconsider him for management position. Leal was his last name and he needs to be removed or retaught customer service!! The worst part about it was I asked him to split the check at $200 and $40 if he wasn't gonna honor the total discount. That way he could apply the 20% discount on the $40 and apply the gift cards to the $200. He then refused ... is it's Texas de Brazil's policy to not honor military discounts? With the price level, it is at the "special occasion" level but I have now been twice and was very pleased both times. I love the taste of the meats, salt and all, so that is a personal taste. Had terrible service! The server was well below par but the main problem is me and my spouse are young and the other tables were older people and our waitress spent 90 percent of her time with them. Waited well after my first plate of food to get my soft drink. Only got one water refill and asked for more mashed potatoes for my meal and never got any. At this restaurant if you park in the complexes parking lot you have to get your parking verified. So I put my parking pass in with the check (which I have always done and it's never a problem) and the waitress never verified it so I had to walk all the way back.
