We had my daughters birthday dinner there last night. This was our first time. The meat was so delicious and there was so much of it. It can definitely be overwhelming with how much there is. The salad area had lots of variety. It's very noisy in the restaurant, so if you're looking for something intimate, this is not your place. The biggest challenge we had was getting drinks. Our waiter wasn't very attentive. It took him over 20 minutes to find a wine list. He never asked if we wanted a second glass after we ordered. My parents and I decided to come here for their anniversary dinner. They restaurant had plenty of tables and a nice size bar area. We were kindly greeted and quickly seated. Once seated our very nice waiter explained how the different types of meat will come out. We started with their very nice and fresh salad bar. Different side dishes were placed at our table. The bananas were my favorite. The meat that came out was very tender and flavorful. The only downside about this location is the garage parking and they do not validate parking. read more

Truly awesome Brazilian steakhouse dining experience that has a great lunchtime deal where you also get to partake in the salad and soup bar. The cuts of meat are excellent, the bananas have a divine cinnamon flavoring, and the cheese bread is addictive. Fine dessert offerings as well such as their key lime pie and passion fruit mousse. Absolutely perfect service that is extremely attentive, prompt and accommodating (she also made an exceptional cappuccino with steamed milk, caramel and cinnamon), and the servers that come around with the meats are also very consistent. Oh, where do I start... We were in from out of town for the Grand Prix. We had tickets right on the finish line for the two of us, our daughter and son-in-law, and everything there was great. However, we went to a food truck for lunch and my husband spent $20 on his "Meat bowl" from a food truck, however, it was covered in all the things he didn't want on it. Not exactly happy, but it is what it is. Hours later, on our way out and starving, we decided to treat the family to Texas De Brazil. I had never been there, but my husband went to the Troy location years ago, and has raved about the meat quality, selection, and portions for years. Honestly, we were quite excited, as we don't have options like this where we live. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and professional, and seating took maybe 10 minutes. Again, our server was professional and friendly, and she explained the experience clearly. We ordered 2 waters and 2 Modelos. Drinks arrived quickly. Unfortunately, that is where our postive experience ended. Collectively, we made one trip to the salad bar. They had a decent selection, but I can't say we were impressed. While I was a little more adventurous than the rest of the group, I still only took a few pieces of lettuce, a piece of bread, tabbouleh, some ranch dressing a couple slices of cheese, some fresh mozzarella, but no meat. My husband and son-in-law got a bowl of soup, two or three slices of cheese and a couple pieces of lunch meat. My daughter got a bite of tiny things here and there. Let's be honest, who goes to a "Steakhouse" for the salad bar? We had our coins placed with green upwards and patiently waited for the meat we came for. And we waited. And waited. Eventually someone showed up with chicken and bacon. We each received ONE approximately 1.5 inch squared piece of chicken. ONE. But I think we were all kind of patient and excited for what was next, because again, who comes to a steakhouse for chicken? A server did come around with a skewer of sausages, however, he only gave my son in law one, and the rest of us were completely ignored! In fact we were completely ignored by EVERY meat server after that. After about a half hour, I decided that's it to get the manager, we're done. He was very friendly and apologetic and said that he would take care of it. However, he did come back with the "fixed" bill and told us we were doing it wrong because our coins were on red. Which we found highly offensive, because our coins had been on green, and when I decided we were leaving, I told everyone "Turn your coins on red, I'm done." However, when he finally returned with the bill, my husband just gave him the card, because we just wanted to get out of there, we were hungry and it was time to find somewhere with food. As we were leaving, I saw my husband was charged AND PAID $166 FOR ABOUT 6 BITES OF FOOD EACH, NO STEAK, NO LAMB. You have got to be ****ing me! Whatever, what's done is done. They will NEVER get our business again, and I will make sure EVERYBODY I know hears about my experience. If we ran our business the way they do, we wouldn't have any customers. It really is shocking and appalling that they are still in business. It's a shame for the server however, because she was great, and we always tip a minimum of 40%, regardless of whether it's the local diner or Morton's the Steakhouse. We still left her twenty dollars, because it really was not her fault, but it would have been over a hundred, had the restaurant treated us better. Honestly, I think the worst part for my daughter and I is we never got to order our wine to enjoy with our steaks! I joke, but do I? I know the owner is probably going to read this and reply with an apology, like he does with all of the other negative reviews. I just want you to know your apology means nothing to me. The atmosphere here has an upscale feel to it. That being said the tables are absolutely packed together like sardines. The salad bar area is very good with lots of choices. The Lobster Bisque is excellent. The side items of Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Fried Bananas are excellent, heck I had four servings of the Fried Bananas. The fries are very average though. The meats were mostly very good and tender. A couple of them were too charred for my tastes. The service was very friendly, but very inefficient. There would be large periods where my waitress just seemed to fall off the planet. The place was extraordinarily busy though. Even with reservations there was a wait. Overall a 4 star review. This was my first time here and I absolutely LOVED IT! I ate so much that I could've kept sittin there and kept eating lol! I DIDNT WANNA LEAVE! The meats were so good and endless and plentiful! And the SALAD BAR?! Yall the salad bar was INSANE. The tabouli was so fresh! So yummy. I got pretty much everything they even serve at the salad bar and packed my plate before the meats even started coming around! (I'm so glad I did that cause now I had a REAL DEAL MEAL. A deeply disappointing, traumatizing experience at Texas de Brazil - Downtown Detroit I arrived to attend a business dinner presentation hosted by Green Line Retirement Insurance located in Livonia, at Texas de Brazil in downtown Detroit. What began as my simple question about seating quickly escalated into an uncomfortable and distressing encounter. Upon arriving a half hour early, I reasonably asked if any corner seats remained available in the meeting room. Although guests had not yet arrived, the layout of seating was quite cramped for the size of the room. The host, Mark Zayti, responded in a manner I found unexpectedly harsh and dismissive as he immediately told me to sit or leave. When I expressed concern about the tone and proximity of his response, the situation quickly and shockingly escalated within seconds. Mark told me to, "Get My Fat Ass Out!" I felt profoundly offended and my personal space was being encroached upon, and it became necessary for me to verbally insist that he not touch me. At that point, the restaurant manager approached. Rather than de-escalating the situation or gathering context, she immediately sided with the host and asked my husband and I to leave. Her approach felt aggressive and accusatory, and we were physically nudged toward the exit. Despite our attempts to explain, she threatened to call the police and made statements that mischaracterized our behavior. This experience was deeply upsetting ---- traumatizing. I expected a professional environment, especially given the nature of the event. Instead, I felt dismissed and unsupported. I believe the manager's response lacked the neutrality and professionalism required to handle a conflict between guests. I hope Texas de Brazil takes this feedback seriously and provides additional training to staff on conflict resolution and guest relations. No one should feel unsafe or unheard in a public dining space. Green Life Retirement's CEO, Mark Zayti's, vile and threatening behavior and disrespect should not be excused, normalized or tolerated. read more

This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had at Texas de Brazil. I reserved a party of 12 for my best friend's birthday. We love coming here- the food, the salad bar, the ambiance. It's our go-to spot for large parties & special occasions. Everything was going fine and they stopped bringing meat to our table. My teenage son was looking at me, asking me why the food stopped coming to our table. They would walk past and not stop. We asked our server for meats- they never came. I went with friends last week and was so excited about the salad bar, amongst other delicious protein options that I could enjoy. I first experienced this steakhouse in Aruba about 18 years ago and vividly remembered the big wheel of Parmesan Reggiano and how the staff "shaved" it with a knife from the center, creating big curls; this location did it differently and less efficiently/ attractive. But I thoroughly enjoyed all the options for the best salad you could eat. I loved the button mushrooms in au jus/ wine to go with your meats and the chimichurri sauce as well! So delicious. The staff were very professional yet personable, attentive and helpful to make our dinner experience memorable. I tried the liçor 43 for dessert, as our server said, "It can help with digestion as it is made with 43 herbs and spices." It comes as a shot or a "mini beer" with a cream layer on top. I tried the mini beer which was tasty but felt like the cream inhibited full tasting of the liçor. My friend was kind and asked for a small taste without the cream and I enjoyed that much more! The prices for this wonderful experience are 3-4 $, but it's all you can enjoy, high quality food, drinks and service from a staff of professionals focused on you having a good time. I was surprised that for a restaurant this size, capacity approx 120(?) that the facilities have room for only one at a time for men and women. We parked in a nearby parking garage and walked maybe 2 blocks to the Compuware building, across from Campus Martius ice rink, and steakhouse is immediately on left. For the $200 we spent we couldn't have just had a nice steak dinner somewhere else,it was NOT worth it.We definitely will not be coming back! All the "meat men" didn't speak English so most of the time you didn't know what kind of meat you were getting. They kept coming around with the same chicken and pork. Then wouldn't come around for a long period of time. Our waitress tell us they were out of 3 meats. What ?!? It was only 7:00. They give you French fries and mashed potatoes, French fries were cold. Pork rib was rubbery. The only thing that was good was drinks and our server. At $55 per person, you're getting a great deal for a buffet compared to what you would pay at a high-quality steakhouse. Last night,I tried this restaurant for the first on a Friday night. The wait was 40 minutes and so we belied up to the bar for $5 rum cocktails to pass the time. The staff was exceptionally responsive from the amazing host, friendly bartenders, to the management staff walking around. I went into this restaurant completely unaware that it was an all you can eat buffet and meat. I thought it was a steak house. I tried the buffet and although the food was fresh, it wasn't tasty. Nothing really stood out enough for a return trip. There were things that looked tasty, but were bland or just not in season like the fresh cut asparagus and tomatoes. I liked the idea of the charcuterie items, but fancy cheese wasn't enough to really wow me. Back at the table I flipped my coin and the meat fest began! It was a cool experience and the meat (cuts of pork loin, steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp) was flavorful... but tough. This included the rare cuts of filet which I didn't even think was possible. They keep it coming though. So, at least you can get your money's worth of food. We did have dessert, as well. And those were amazing! Huge portions! I would recommend this place to others to try for a night out, but probably wouldn't return myself because the food wasn't worth it. But I did enjoy my experience. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and nestled in a business building downtown next to a unique fountain. Perfect for pictures! Dinner was 53.99 a piece and the dessert was 10.00 each. She came over and was very personable and funny and what a great smile. It is obvious she enjoys what she's doing whoever hired her good job - She made the Dining experience very pleasant. She made a lot of suggestions and she never let my Glass get half empty. She kept it full - and she kept checking on me to make sure I had everything I needed. - I eat out quite a bit and I do a lot of traveling and I have to say Kassandra made this one of the best Dining experiences I've ever had. She is an excellent server. I also wanna add the manager Shawn did an excellent job. You can really tell when a place really runs smooth - A lot of that has to do with the management so your management team is great especially Shawn. He has come up to me before when I had friends Dining with me and he has checked on us and is very friendly and very professional. The food was great. It always is - but like I said if the server isn't pleasant and it looks like she doesn't even want to be there no matter how good the food is that kind of ruins the experience - so as I said Kassandra really knows what she's doing. Had a recent visit on Valentine's Day. Made my reservation a while ago and was looking forward to a nice romantic dinner. Arrived on time for my reservation and that's when the trouble started. The lobby was so crowded. Overflow was out the door. At first, I wasn't worried, I had reservations. However, after getting thru the crowd and getting to the desk, we got our name down and could wait at the bar or the waiting area. Standing room only. We went to the bar and got a drink. Drink was good. However, it took 35 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Mind you, this was shoulder to shoulder standing room only. After getting seated, service was ok, I give it a B. However, the food, which even on other holidays and very crowded days, is usually great, was not up to par today. The salad was good, but the hot sides where just not hot. Lukewarm at best. They did bring on the meats, no problem there. They used to bring my diet coke in little small cans and charge $5 a can. No complaints there, I expect to pay at a good restaurant. However, today they brought it in a pitcher. Got a free refill too. Saved me a dollar or too. The problem is, my diet coke now had a not good fountain after taste to it. Actually, so did the water. I came to the car to get a smaller portion than the normal buffet and the bartender Amy was one of the worst employees of any restaurant from a service standard I'd ever seen. Below is why: 1) Brought my food in a to-go container even though I indicated wanted to eat at the bar. Stated the manager couldn't replate it even though I never touched or opened the bag. 2) Never spoke to me AT ALL but was comfortable acknowledging all other bar customers. 3) The Menu prices were wrong and Amy had no idea what the actual prices was very vocal about it being wrong 4) Use of profanity with regulars was very unprofessional 5) No sense of awareness that I'm Brazilian and she didn't care that she didn't know the names of the beers Or drinks. Ordered from here on Uber eats while away on a work trip. They have a two protein option where you get two sides as well as some of the Brazilian cheese bread. I also added on a lobster bisque. While ordering you could pick MR/M or M/W for doneness. I picked MR/ M and they were more M/W but I understand it's hard to judge based on delivery. The filet was very tough and did not really seem like filet. The garlic flank steak did not taste of garlic at all and was also very dry. The potatoes were good and the cabbage salad was just non mayo based coleslaw. The lobster bisque was okay but had no chunks and was a bit salty. For steak delivery it wasn't completely bad but I don't think I would get it again read more

Both days I tried to call them. I left a message. Never got back to me. I went there in person before I went to my other restaurant for dinner to see what the problem was. They don't know, and they don't answer phones. Place was so packed anyway with tons of people waiting around. Reminds me of Disney. I am no longer interested in going there. Love this place. The only thing that Mildly concerns me is sometimes I put up my stop sign so that they will no longer come to me for food. Doesn't work all the time, a lot of them don't speak English, but it was pretty funny when I took my stop sign and put it on my forehead so that they would pay attention that I no longer want any more food! I was beyond full and felt like I needed a wheelchair to leave the place. It is about $50 and some change per head but worth every penny you cannot take any food home but that's OK. My experience here was honestly a rollercoaster. I like the colors and the aesthetic but something about the dining area was giving cafeteria vibes so it was a complete clash. The server came and greeted us and asked if if we've ever been. I said no and she spent about 15 minutes talking non stop about it which I thought was a little odd. The passion fruit caipirinha was interesting -I liked it and then the bitter taste from the lemon rind I believe started throwing me off, but I would still drink it again. Also it was only $6 because of happy hour. We walked over to the salad bar and it was an overwhelming amount of food there . The lobster bisque soup was delicious. At this point I'm feeling impressed. Then the servers start bringing the meats to us and tell us what it is, you can try it or kindly say no. I thought the filet mignon was kind of too chewy . I liked the flank steak. They brought filet mignon wrapped with bacon and at this point things started to taste the same and I was getting overstimulated, and also very full. So I suddenly got an ick and realized the salad bar was more than enough "food". The server offered us liquor 43 shots with espresso or heavy cream and it sounded good so I tried it and it was my favorite part to be honest. It tastes like liquor and icecream it is a must try. Lastly I got the passion fruit mousse and Brazilian cheesecake. I love anything passion fruit so that was just amazing. This churrasco style Brazilian steakhouse is in a prime spot on the corner of Woodward Abe and Monroe St. Parking is kind of a challenge but there is a nearby garage. Also, while they do take walk ins, reservations are recommended to avoid long waits. The place is nicely decorated with a majestic floral arrangement affixed atop of a sprawling salad bar. There are full length windows all the way around offering nice views of the street. There is bar seating available. In addition to the salad bar which has an amazing selection of hot and cold items, the menu includes a large selection of chicken, lamb, beef and pork on long sword like skewers served directly at your table. This sounds exciting but depending on where you are seated, you may get often overlooked. We had to ask for some selections to come to our table and even still had a pretty long wait foe them. The ayce meat and salad bar also comes with bottomless mashed redskin potato, cheese bread and fried bananas. If you're not that into meat, you can opt for the salad bar and sides only. There are also cocktails and desserts menus available. In addition to being skipped over with the meat, the overall service was just mediocre. We had to wait quite some time for our server to initially acknowledge us and she was on the slow side throughout our experience. I've been to Texas de Brazil in Detroit many times and have always had a great experience--until this past Monday. My boyfriend and I went for a belated Valentine's Day/anniversary dinner and enjoyed a variety of meats, as usual. However, later that night, we both became violently ill, spending the entire night sick in the worst way possible. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that our sickness was a direct result of something we ate there. Concerned, I called the restaurant the next day to report what happened. No one called me back, so I had to follow up again on Friday. When I finally spoke to management, instead of any genuine concern, I was met with dismissiveness and an almost gaslighting response--acting as if I was crazy for bringing it up. They insisted no one else had complained, but that doesn't change the fact that we were both up all night extremely sick. For the record, I wasn't calling to get anything in return--I understand how hard the restaurant industry is, and I don't take complaints like this lightly. But the complete lack of accountability or even basic concern was incredibly disappointing. The customer service was terrible from the moment we checked in. The bartender didn't even acknowledge me or my fiancé when we sat for a drink so we never got one. When we were called to our seat our server asked us how do we prefer our meat cooked we let him know medium well, from that moment on we were only offered rare cuts of meat. Literally the only meat we got was the order of lamb chops that my fiancé put in. When we noticed we hadn't received any food we asked for besides the lamb chops we asked our server for the bill and the manager to speak with. The manager took about 10 minutes to come which was surprising seeing that it was a Monday evening the restaurant wasn't crowded at all and within those 10 minutes the meat we asked for about an hour ago was finally coming to the table but we were already over the experience. The manager took a percentage off of the bill which was okay but the experience was not. After enjoying this restaurant for a few years we will not be back. read more

I was shocked at how good this place was. Been to more than a half-dozen Brazilian steakhouses and this was one of the best experiences I've had in years. Excellent selection of quality meats that kept rotating out every 60-90 seconds (if not faster). Service was phenomenal. Will be back soon. read more

A different type of experience. The food is very good and fresh. They're charging website talks about Salmon. Note: there's no grilled salmon. Salmon is smoked and raw. All the meat comes out on a stick. Just different type of restaurant. read more
