Came in for dinner, the place was packed. Maybe because it is Saturday. There is one men's and one women's restroom in the venue, a hostess needs to unlock one outside otherwise. Of course the meat comes around with gauchos, and the food at the salad bar was less than mediocre 3/10 . The meat I received was not tender and I was outdone.I had a Brazil kiss cocktail and it was good 10/10. Our server was nice and attentive. I will not return.

My parents and I decided to come here for their anniversary dinner. They restaurant had plenty of tables and a nice size bar area. We were kindly greeted and quickly seated. Once seated our very nice waiter explained how the different types of meat will come out. We started with their very nice and fresh salad bar. Different side dishes were placed at our table. The bananas were my favorite. The meat that came out was very tender and flavorful. The only downside about this location is the garage parking and they do not validate parking.

Truly awesome Brazilian steakhouse dining experience that has a great lunchtime deal where you also get to partake in the salad and soup bar. The cuts of meat are excellent, the bananas have a divine cinnamon flavoring, and the cheese bread is addictive. Fine dessert offerings as well such as their key lime pie and passion fruit mousse. Absolutely perfect service that is extremely attentive, prompt and accommodating (she also made an exceptional cappuccino with steamed milk, caramel and cinnamon), and the servers that come around with the meats are also very consistent. Interior decor also very fancy, great decorations and style and extremely spacious with many tables and seats to choose from. Highly recommended!

I love the salad bar. We visited here almost a year ago and had a very similar experience. The service again was pretty awful. Pretty much totally ignored again. Waiter never checked on us the entire lunch. The first responder discount also decreased from 20% to 10%.. the interior is nice.

The atmosphere here has an upscale feel to it. That being said the tables are absolutely packed together like sardines. The salad bar area is very good with lots of choices. The Lobster Bisque is excellent. The side items of Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Fried Bananas are excellent, heck I had four servings of the Fried Bananas. The fries are very average though. The meats were mostly very good and tender. A couple of them were too charred for my tastes. The service was very friendly, but very inefficient. There would be large periods where my waitress just seemed to fall off the planet. The place was extraordinarily busy though. Even with reservations there was a wait. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Probably, it was good, I just don't love feeling like a sardine.

This was my first time here and I absolutely LOVED IT! I ate so much that I could've kept sittin there and kept eating lol! I DIDNT WANNA LEAVE! The meats were so good and endless and plentiful! And the SALAD BAR?! Yall the salad bar was INSANE. The tabouli was so fresh! So yummy. I got pretty much everything they even serve at the salad bar and packed my plate before the meats even started coming around! (I'm so glad I did that cause now I had a REAL DEAL MEAL. For the cost of dining here i DEFINITELY GOT MY MONEYS WORTH AND SOME. I'm excited to come back sometime soon! I do see what people mean by it being packed tho but I don't see why it wouldn't be! I mean the place has the meats fr. The fried banana was really yummy as well! Also the interior was definitely beautiful especially above the salad bar! As far as the restrooms yall.... How they that packed with one one woman's and one men's toilet. YALL GOT ONE TOILET AND ALL THESE PEOPLE. I found that baffling fr. But anyway I still 5 star this place cause the food had me on my back tryna breath

A deeply disappointing, traumatizing experience at Texas de Brazil - Downtown Detroit I arrived to attend a business dinner presentation hosted by Green Line Retirement Insurance located in Livonia, at Texas de Brazil in downtown Detroit. What began as my simple question about seating quickly escalated into an uncomfortable and distressing encounter. Upon arriving a half hour early, I reasonably asked if any corner seats remained available in the meeting room. Although guests had not yet arrived, the layout of seating was quite cramped for the size of the room. The host, Mark Zayti, responded in a manner I found unexpectedly harsh and dismissive as he immediately told me to sit or leave. When I expressed concern about the tone and proximity of his response, the situation quickly and shockingly escalated within seconds. Mark told me to, "Get My Fat Ass Out!" I felt profoundly offended and my personal space was being encroached upon, and it became necessary for me to verbally insist that he not touch me. At that point, the restaurant manager approached. Rather than de-escalating the situation or gathering context, she immediately sided with the host and asked my husband and I to leave. Her approach felt aggressive and accusatory, and we were physically nudged toward the exit. Despite our attempts to explain, she threatened to call the police and made statements that mischaracterized our behavior. This experience was deeply upsetting ---- traumatizing. I expected a professional environment, especially given the nature of the event. Instead, I felt dismissed and unsupported. I believe the manager's response lacked the neutrality and professionalism required to handle a conflict between guests. I hope Texas de Brazil takes this feedback seriously and provides additional training to staff on conflict resolution and guest relations. No one should feel unsafe or unheard in a public dining space. Green Life Retirement's CEO, Mark Zayti's, vile and threatening behavior and disrespect should not be excused, normalized or tolerated.

Great service, clean restaurant, great drinks, and the food was amazing. I have been to one in Memphis that didn't add up to this one. If I'm back in Detroit I will go again.

Lots of meat to choose from!

I've been to this location multiple times, and it's always been a positive experience. At $55 per person, you're getting a great deal for a buffet compared to what you would pay at a high-quality steakhouse. All the food tastes delicious, but I highly recommend the picanha and flank steaks. The service is exceptional. Karen (a good one) served us on two occasions and was friendly. Someone who I believe was the manager also checked in on us to make sure everything was going well.

Last night,I tried this restaurant for the first on a Friday night. The wait was 40 minutes and so we belied up to the bar for $5 rum cocktails to pass the time. The staff was exceptionally responsive from the amazing host, friendly bartenders, to the management staff walking around. I went into this restaurant completely unaware that it was an all you can eat buffet and meat. I thought it was a steak house. I tried the buffet and although the food was fresh, it wasn't tasty. Nothing really stood out enough for a return trip. There were things that looked tasty, but were bland or just not in season like the fresh cut asparagus and tomatoes. I liked the idea of the charcuterie items, but fancy cheese wasn't enough to really wow me. Back at the table I flipped my coin and the meat fest began! It was a cool experience and the meat (cuts of pork loin, steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp) was flavorful... but tough. This included the rare cuts of filet which I didn't even think was possible. They keep it coming though. So, at least you can get your money's worth of food. We did have dessert, as well. And those were amazing! Huge portions! I would recommend this place to others to try for a night out, but probably wouldn't return myself because the food wasn't worth it. But I did enjoy my experience. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and nestled in a business building downtown next to a unique fountain. Perfect for pictures! Dinner was 53.99 a piece and the dessert was 10.00 each. Very fair for the amount of food offered.

    Are the staffs wearing mask?

Hi Shao, thanks for reaching out! Yes, all of our staff are required to wear masks, while guests are highly recommended to do so when not seated directly at their table. We look forward to serving you soon!

Because of Covid, are they still offering tge salad bar?

Hi Melanie, thanks for reaching out! Yes, our salad area is open as usual at our Detroit location.

With Covid are they still having the salad bar area?

Yes they are. You have to use hand sanitizer prior to approaching the salad bar area as well as their hot food (rice, beans, soup).

    Do they have high chairs?

Yes, we've taken my children there and had high chairs before. And kids under 2 eat free! (mine love the lobster bisque)

Can I use coupon on Sunday? I registered a Eclub online, and received 20 bucks for dinner. Can I use it?

Yes you can and if they are over booked and you can get in they will honor you with a rain check

Can someone tell me more about their experience having lunch there? What is the major difference between lunch and dinner?

They have lunches only on Fridays. Special pricing $24.99 . It's almost the same as the dinner.

The leeks were good as well - topped with nuts (hazelnuts?). I did not enjoy the scallop dish. Lauren took great care of us and encouraged us to order whatever we were craving. Dangerous advice, but we happily accepted . Warning - the ratings are real. They're not a mistake. We started with our usual cocktail, the Instant Karma (5/5). It is the perfect balance of citrus and salt with a light cucumber note. Clean, refreshing, and it pairs well with everything. The roasted sweet potato (6/5) is one of the best vegetable dishes in the city. The caramelized exterior gives way to a soft interior, and the crispy quinoa adds a subtle light crunch that plays against the creamy texture. The salsa macha brings a smoky, nutty depth without the heat, and the crema ties it all together. I had to physically stop myself from scraping the plate (actually they had to take it away ). The tagliatelle (5/5) with beef bolognese and parmesan was flawless. The pasta has that ideal handmade chew, and the bolognese is rich without being heavy. The parmesan blends perfectly into the sauce and stands out in every bite. The potato pierogi (10/5) were the star of the night. Soft potato-filled pillows with horseradish crema, apple, and crispy shallot pieces create this perfect sweet, tangy, creamy, and crunchy bite. Each forkful felt intentional and balanced. I felt guilty, because in my head, I didn't want to share with my wife, but I did anyways . The cruelty of having to split an odd number of pierogis...well played...we should have just ordered another one. We also ordered the smoked potatoes and the pan roasted half chicken with sauce au poivre (always 5/5 for both) The smoked potatoes, with raclette, and crème fraîche, are always a must. These winter variation was just as good! The chicken remains one of the most consistently well-executed mains in the city. I have tried recreating it at home with the cold pan method and it never comes close. Every time we dine here, it feels like four or five different dinner experiences in one evening. Selden Standard continues to set the bar for us in Detroit. We love the staff, the food, and the memories tied to this place. Cheers to many more amazing years to come!

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here, and I'm glad that we got to experience it. We arrived in advance of our reservation and grabbed a seat at the bar. All of the food looked amazing, both on the menu and with what people were ordering at other tables. We chose a variety of dishes - cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, squid ink orecchiette, octopus, mushrooms, and scallops. I would recommend all of them, but the standouts for me were the Brussels sprouts and the scallops. Flavors were unique and textures were especially on point with those dishes. Service was good, but we both felt like it was slow. There was a slight glitch in the beginning of the night where the host stand didn't mark that we had checked in when we actually had, which probably contributed to the half hour wait at the bar. Aside from those points, it was an impeccable night!

My mom and I also decided to order separate pasta dishes and split them, I went with the carbonara and she went with the stuffed shells (conchiglie alla norcina). Hands down my favorites were the artichokes and the asparagus. So fresh and flavorful! The stuffed shells were also quite good and quite a hearty portion. Admittedly my least favorite dish was my carbonara. It was very pepper forward which I'm not super crazy about. I anticipated that given the base is their cacio e pepe but I was curious to try it as the chef intended but for me it was a bit too much. It was still very good, but next time I'd ask them to go a little easy on those extra pepper grings to match my personal palate a little better. The Brussels were heavenly and the octopus was flavorful and tender (very nicely prepared). Aside from the Steelhead entrée, my wife and son both had the Ribeye Cap w/ yaji, peanut, & kiwi. Both the steak and fries were cooked to absolute perfection, as was the gnocchi. To top it all off, our server was wonderful. Highly recommend They did provide a sweet birthday crème brûlée!

Our server was very welcoming and helped to set up our food order into courses that allowed us a very relaxing evening Cocktails were really good. I had a Last Word and it was very well done. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with warm wood trim. The bar area looked stellar and very French-bistro like. I will sit there next time No so Highs Food was good, but just OK. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.
