Texas de Brazil in Fresno has become one of my favorite restaurants, and we go there at least once a month. I rate restaurants on a 5-point scale based on food quality, service, cleanliness, and price/value/variety (1 point each), plus wait time/pacing and atmosphere/ambiance (0.5 point each). Based on that scale, I would give Texas de Brazil a 4.7 out of 5. Every time we visit, the restaurant is spotless. Cleanliness is clearly a priority, from the dining area to the salad bar, which is always fresh, flavorful, well-stocked, and beautifully maintained. Even though it is self-service, staff are constantly checking the area, keeping it clean, and making sure dishes are replenished. The service is excellent. The servers are attentive from the moment you arrive. They offer drinks quickly, explain the menu, and remain consistently present without being intrusive. Your plate never stays empty for long, and you never feel like you have to chase someone down for service. The meats are absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked, flavorful, and plentifu, and I mean plen-ti-ful. Since Texas de Brazil is all-you-can-eat, you really do get your money's worth. It is on the pricier side, which is why I would take 0.3 off for price/value/variety, but the quality of the food, the service, and the amount you can enjoy still make it worth it. I've seen some reviews mention feeling rushed, especially during busy times or holidays. My recommendation is simple: use the red/green card system to your advantage. If you turn your card to red, they stop bringing meat to your table. When you're ready for more, turn it back to green. That makes the experience much more enjoyable and lets you eat at your own pace. Another plus is that they often have online promotions where you can buy multiple dinners at a significant discount, usually valid Monday through Thursday. Even when using those deals, the quality and service remain just as good. The only item I personally found a bit too salty was the Parmesan chicken, so I'd skip that one or try it with caution. As for dessert, they've all been wonderful so far, but the carrot cake is currently my favorite. I'm coming back to update my 1-star review after about a year. To be honest, I only gave this place another shot because I had a gift card, but I have to say... it was a lot better this time around! I went during peak hours on a busy day, and seeing the place packed actually made me feel a bit more secure. I figured with that many customers, the kitchen and salad bar would naturally stay fresher since the food is constantly being cycled out. While I still think any establishment should keep things up to par regardless of how slow it is, the difference in freshness this time was really noticeable compared to my first visit when it was dead. The service was great, which is a big win for me because even in my last review, I mentioned the service was the one thing they got right. I'm really glad to see that's still super consistent here. As for the food, they had a lot of "trendy" meats that I've been hearing about. I think it's a cut that's been all over TikTok the Picanha cut? I might be wrong on the name, but I'd heard people talking about it and it was super good and very tender. The biggest improvement, though, was the consistency. I prefer my beef medium-rare, and last time I was here, almost everything they brought out was well-done. This time, every piece that made its way to my table was cooked exactly how I like it. I wanted to see if this Brazilian steakhouse was worth the high price, so we tried Texas de Brazil on Valentine's Day. Even with a reservation, we waited about 45 minutes, though it was a busy holiday. The salad bar had lots of options like smoked salmon, shrimp, cheeses, and cold cuts. I also ordered the Bahia Breeze, which was tropical and reminded me of a piña colada. When the meats started coming out, the service was attentive but felt a bit rushed. The hot sides included mashed potatoes, fries, and fried bananas. I liked the bananas, but the lobster bisque was underwhelming. Out of five meats I tried, I only really enjoyed the spicy sirloin and Brazilian sausage. I also tried the Flank Steak, Garlic Picanha and Filet Mignon. The rest looked juicy but were tougher than expected. I had trouble chewing. First of all I have been to several Brazilian steakhouses. One of the more popular ones is not my favorite. FDC. My fave is GG. Texas de Brazil was one we hav been wanting try. I was leery because of the reviews but I give it a solid 4. The staff were pleasant and helpful and asked us many times if we needed anything. We aren't drinkers and took the recommendation of the pitcher of Brazilian limeade mixed with coconut and strawberry for $20 Yum! The salad bar had some decent options. Pearl couscous salad and Tabouli were delicious! The herbed goat cheese and marinated olives and veggies were also good. The cheese bread and mashed potatoes on the table is the best I've had at a Brazilian steakhouse. The meats were ok. Beef rib, flank steak and medium picana were the best. The sirloin was chewy and the more well done picana was as well. Honestly you are paying for the experience and should not expect perfection. TDB does a decent job in comparison to others. The weakest food we tasted was the lobster bisque. It was thin and very fishy. We enjoyed the potatoes au gratin much more. The restaurant was clean and spacious. First of all I am not sure why this this place is not rated higher. Took my son out for his birthday. We went out Sunday evening the hostess were so nice, polite and smiles all around. Our waiter Parker, AMAZING!! very knowledgeable great at explaining and introducing the beverage, originally I was going to stick with water but thanks to him I got to enjoy a passion fruit margarita, so good. My kids very much enjoyed their drinks as well. The meats were on point, everything tasted perfect. The salad bar had great choices. Nice and fancy atmosphere but not stiff or too sophisticated. The food sides, soups, salads, and meats are all you can eat. Boy oh boy the food was sooo goood. My favorite meat was the Parmesan pork loin, the beef ribs (which just melted I. Your mouth) and the sirloin. My husband's loved the steaks and love how they were all seasoned. This place isn't for serious conversation because you get constantly interrupted with meat options or management making sure you are enjoying your meal. Nice location as it's center in a shopping area and movie theater so perfect to grab dinner. Spacious waiting area. We waited only 10 mins or less without reservation on a Friday night for 4 people. Decor was cute with great ambiance for like a date night! Nice little enclosed clear glass wine cellar in the dining area. There's a cold food & small hot food area that is part of the all you can eat. Our server Hannah & Tiny are very knowledgeable with the items and menu along with providing great recommendations like the lamb and the mint sauce that complemented it. Hannah was super attentive to our table & Nick the restaurant manager also was kindly introduced and checked on us during our meal. The meats and food was good for the most part although I did hope they had a bit more of a variety of meats available for the cost and value. The lamb that was ordered (which cost extra) was cooked more medium well than it was medium rare as requested. Lobster bisque soup was good per the people who had soup. I came here to celebrate Mother's Day and had such a great experience. I was shocked about the quality of food and service at this location! I usually love churrasco and eat it when I'm out of town. I finally had the luxury of trying this location here in Fresno! The interior of the restaurant was clean and beautiful! It really sets the mood for a kind of intimate experience. We had prepared ourselves with a reservation and it was a seamless transaction! One thing about this location is that they are only open during dinner. I would love to have the option to eat here at lunch! Their salad bar was delicious and offered a variety of cured meats, cheeses, pickled items and also prepared vegetables. They also offered a few hot items such as rice, beans and sautéed mushrooms and candied bacon. One of my personal favorite items from the salad bar is their pineapples. They prepare it with cinnamon sugar and it tastes delicious. For the meats, my favorites were the picanha and flank steak. They were so tender and so juicy. It had so much flavor and was cooked perfectly. The flank steak honestly impressed me so much! I was sad to not have had a chance to try any of the lamb meats here though. The service was great! I just wish that there was more information given to my party about the meat options. I wish we were given a chance to request certain meats as well. I have had that offered to me at other churrasco grill restaurants but I wasn't informed here that it was possible to request certain meats. read more

I haven't been here since October 2021. My husband and I recently celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and I had made reservations: Wed 5pm 2 adults and 2 high chairs. We entered about 2mins after 5pm (when they opened) we were the first ones there. We were greeted. They provided us with our high chair request. The prices have increased since our last visit. Our server Tiny was nice. We've always enjoyed coming here, I just feel the whole process of having our servers come and explain everything can be a bit much and overwhelming; information overload. They offer buffet style salad bar and sides. We requested our meats to be seasoned on the light side. Everything was delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly and seasoned well without it being very salty. The enjoyed the lamb and the bbq chicken. The just kept coming and I was so disappointed to say I only had room for 2 plates. Towards the ends of service it got alittle busier, our server was a bit tied up and one of kids was just ready to go so we were a bit in a rush to just get out. We skipped out on desserts and our server also offered us some expresso to go but we also decline. Definitely coming back without kids next time lol The salad bar had a nice selection. You grab a plate at the salad bar and they bring you a meat plate. Try their house lemonade ($20 for pitcher)! They also bring you mashed potatoes, fries and fried plantains. I've never felt so rushed in my life. First time and last time for sure. If you like fast food steakhouse you got the right place. You have to be ready to eat and not converse with any of your guests. I was told enjoy the salad bar and as soon as you sit down on a small table as they bring you meat to crowd the small space. I wasn't even done with the salad bar and they already brought the first round of meat. Way different experience from what I'm used to at Fogo De Chão. I will say the meat was also lack luster and tough, yet the salad bar was great but you never got a chance to enjoy all the small tastes of Brazil. The second was their house sangria, which I have enjoyed before, but this time it was overwhelming sweet instead of refreshing. Our server was kind and attentive and the restaurant was clean. One thing I will say, in the women's restroom, the stall doors are large and heavy and come so close to the toilet that you have to squeeze past to get the door closed, so it was very difficult to fit. We came here for dinner on Christmas night because who wants to cook? I was so excited to finally test out and try this Brazilian barbecue place. I had been to others in Southern California. That were amazing so my standards were set pretty high! I was grossly disappointed... The service was abhorrently slow, it took us forever to get our drinks, it took us forever to get someone with meat, other than chicken to come over to us, and the environment was extremely chaotic and loud inside the establishment. We actually needed to get manager intervention in order for us to have different options of meat because they were just bringing over a bunch of chicken, and red meat options were being offered to other patrons that were closer to the front of the house. Once a manager intervened, we started getting a bunch of different types of meat, which was great. However, I will say that their meat is either severely undercooked or severely overcooked. The filet mignon was well done, the prime rib was way too bloody and difficult to cut into. One other downside is that the pieces of meat that they give you are super small. And if you're looking for Parmesan chicken, beware that it's bone-in. Sadly, the salad bar was not as fruitful as it should've been. There were very few options and not enough variety. I was really disappointed in their salad bar options. I'm sad to say that Texas de Brazil is extremely overpriced and not worth the money. The highlights of the meal were the cheesy tapioca bread balls and the people that were serving were actually really sweet. That's the only reason why I'm giving two stars instead of one. I think it's safe to say that we will never be dining here again. It's really not worth it... For the price that we paid we could've had a way better meal at a high-end steakhouse. read more

I am shocked that Texas de Brazil has such good reviews. The service is extremely inconsistent; some servers are great and others basically ignore you the entire time. The last two times we visited, the service was terrible. I doubt we'll ever go back. First, the salad bar. I've always liked the offerings at the TDB salad bar but it's definitely not the best of the chain Brazilian steakhouses. It's a 3 out of 5 at best. The hot bar has decent choices but they're not exactly my taste. I love the chimichuri and Brazilian vinaigrette. My daughter loves the pineapple carpaccio. Those are the only things we LOVE about this spot. Our family doesn't care for the cheese bread or mashed potatoes so we typically will ask the servers not to even bring those items to our table. When it comes to the meat choices, it's always a mixed bag. The bacon wrapped chicken isn't great and the drumettes are bland. The garlic picanha used to be a family favorite but the last couple of times it was just too fatty. The filet, which is typically a cut I really enjoy, was blah...nothing special, and the flank steak, like the picanha was too fatty to enjoy. I never tried the lamb or pork but wanted to try the linguica/Brazillian sausage. Unfortunately, we couldn't flag down the right Gaucho. The restaurant is always packed (which means to a lot of people, it's pretty popular) but unlike so many Yelpers that think the environment is fancy, it feels more like a Las Vegas buffet, jam packed and somewhat disorganized with a lot of confusion around the salad bar. Compared to Fogo de Chão, TDB doesn't even come close. FDC is 5 outta 5. But if you're really craving a Brazilian steakhouse, sadly, this is all Fresno has to offer. Though it's a TOTALLY different thing, I'd MUCH rather grab a Chicago-style steak at Yosemite Ranch. The service is top-tier and the food is always perfect. read more

First time doing Thanksgiving at a restaurant and we chose Texas de Brazil to try it. Was surprised that the cost was their regular daily price and they don't mark it up for holidays, that's a plus. Service was great from the servers going around cutting the meats and our designated server Kyle and the young lady, sorry I forgot her name, who suggested the type the desserts. We have been coming here since it opened. It hasn't been the same since COVID. I don't know if it's the management or if corporate just doesn't care. This visit was similar to the last few visits we have done (we typically "give it a go" a couple times a year). Our waitress rubbed me wrong from the start. She was too fake. She came over and plunked a bottle of wine down on the table asking what we would be drinking. Husband and I both said water. She asked "still or sparkling?" We confirmed "still." She brought us an $8 bottle of water. We didn't realize it until later, we should have asked for tap, but that wasn't an option she gave us. I feel it was a push to get us to pay for drinks regardless. When the bottle was empty, as were our glasses, she took forever to ask if she could bring another bottle. We asked for tap at that point and she seemed disappointed. The meat was not as flavorful as previously. We had a difficult time getting rare temps. Even when they brought "rare" it was closer to medium. The salad bar has undergone changes and I miss some of the things they used to have. I don't think the changes improved anything. I not only enjoyed my dinner and the service but mostly watching the boys and answer questions. It helped with conversation. Best meat I've ever eaten. I went to the Texas de Brazil in Denver and was so excited to try the one in my home town of Fresno. The service was way slower in pace in Fresno...but I went on Mother's Day in Denver and it was packed. The food in both cities was epic. The meat selection was wonderful, and the salad bar was sooooo delicious good. I could go on and on, but I'll keep it short but sweet. Extremely Disappointing Service for the Price! I visited Texas de Brazil in Fresno (River Park) with my children and their father, and the experience was far from what you'd expect from a restaurant charging close to $75 per person. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt completely off. The hostess didn't greet us, didn't acknowledge us, and just stared until I had to tell her we needed a table for five. Not a welcoming start at all. Once seated, our server (who was very sweet) did her best, but everything else was unprofessional. It was our first time here, and the passadores only came by about 6-8 times the entire visit. A few of the meats were good, but most were not, and we barely got offered anything. When I asked one of the guys for a second slice of sirloin, he told me to wait because he had to go around then never came back. At one point, our server asked if we wanted more meat, and I asked her if they were only supposed to serve one slice. She seemed surprised and said, "Oh no, I'll let them know." After she told them, two guys came out, and one of them was clearly upset. He slammed the meat down on our table and made strong eye contact with me. It felt completely unprofessional and unnecessary. The whole energy in the restaurant felt uncomfortable, and we ended up leaving early because we just didn't feel good being there anymore. For a $280 dinner, I expected attentive, respectful, and consistent service. Unfortunately, this visit fell far below that standard. This place is delicious. If your carnivore, it's really hard to beat unlimited deliciously prepared meat. Pro tip, they have other meats in the back that they don't walk around with; try the beef ribs! I went here for a work celebration with my office and I'm still full! Not every meat is great, not most meats have great seasoning and flavor. You can always ask for a piece to be cooked a little longer if you don't like it on the rarer side. Spicy picanha is my favorite, and as odd as it sounds, the fillet mignon is just okay. Totally not worth it to me, but try it if you want. The atmosphere is nice, but very relaxed. While we were all dressed up, I saw people who were dressed very casual. The individual sides are all pretty good. But I think the lobster bisque and those Brazilian cheese balls they drop off at the table are incredible Our server was just okay. We had to ask for our glasses to be refilled, but honestly, I was just happy that there were people offering me meat. Went here about 2 months ago the day before Valentine's Day. I can't say enough amazing things about our server Hannah. It was extremely busy, but she somehow made us feel like the only two people In the restaurant. She was beyond accommodating, personal, and welcoming. Best experience of service I have personally experienced. The atmosphere was great, food was delicious, but it was 10 times more enjoyable because of Hannah.
