I had been missing the nachos so I came over here for lunch. One of the first people in the building. My server was very nice quiet but nice. I asked if I could get a half nacho or a kids nacho since I had sleeve surgery and they said no which is fine. I paid full price and took my leftovers. I also ordered a dozen rolls what was upsetting was I was never offered my 4 free rolls I assumed since I ordered them to go they would give them to me but they did not which kinda sucks. My nachos also were not topped in the ways they used to be very sparse for 16 dollars they did still taste good though.

Everyone knows Tahoe Joes is good! But , yesterday I had the best meal I have ever had there. Our waitress was fantastic, and the food was perfect, hot, juicy and delicious. This is my birthday month, so I decided to enjoy some Prime Rib! Amazing! My daughter and I decided on their dinner for two. It includes an appetizer, seared calamari, then a choice of steak, prime rib, or roasted chicken, and you share a dessert! So we ended up with pistachio crusted seared calamari, their amazing beef veggie soup, prime rib, baked potato and amazing cheese cake to top it all off. We only ate the appetizer and soup and half of the prime rib and we were full. So the rest will be lunch today! I see that as a win for us, two meals for two days. I highly recommend this meal choice you get it all for about $75.00 and to me good cooked meals are always worth paying a little more. Enjoy eating!

A friend loves coming to this restaurant and decided it for his birthday dinner. We made reservations prior to coming. They only seated us if everyone was present. Came with a party of 4 and seated us at the booth but it was really small and cramped. Our table was missing the drink menu so we couldn't order drinks right away. The waitress Meagan was nice and took our order but they took a long time to give us bread. We had to ask them for the bread. Drinks and food came out and they were good. I got the Wild berry Lemonade ($10), a beer ($6.25), Half rack of ribs ($29) and Whisky Peppercorn Sirloin ($28). Three of us got baked potato and I thought it was cute that they come out with a baked potato topping station. I felt like my water only got filled one time unless we asked. We noticed our waitress was taking care of multiple tables which is why it probably took so long. They also took a while for the check and to go boxes. The restaurant also had a sign saying they closed at 8pm instead 9pm. We assumed it was due to low staff. The food was delicious I took some home for leftovers. Just wish the service was faster and maybe a bigger table too. On a positive note we were able to get a free birthday cheesecake that came with a candle. The piece of cheese cake was big enough for 4 to share.

3+ Phone ordered in + In person purchasing gift card experience: Tahoe Joe's remains a reliable local favorite for a solid meal in a cozy, lodge-themed setting. The wood-grilled flavor of their food sets them apart from typical chains, and the atmosphere is perfect for anything from a casual date to a family celebration. Service: Hostess was ok with my gift card purchase. I had to pick up for to go order separately. Portion size: Generous enough to justify the price. It's a great go-to spot when you want quality prime ribs and a salmon without leaving the city. Not sure why they stopped including the soup in the meals; salad only.

We came here for lunch because we were craving steak and didn't feel like cooking it at home . I've always driven past Tahoe joes and wanted to try it so we ended up coming here . We came at 2pm, and you could order from the lunch or dinner menu so we ordered from the dinner menu. We got the rib eye with baked loaded potato and green beans , and the crab cake side dish . It was more than enough food for two people . The rib eye is A+ it was super juicy and tender , one of the best rib eyes I have had in a long time . The crab cakes were good but a bit pricey for the portion size . I'll definitely be back for the rib eye . Service was really friendly as well .

We sat on the bar side of the restaurant, but unfortunately the AC wasn't working in that section--it honestly felt like we were outside, which is my only complaint. The young bartender, however, went above and beyond, keeping us stocked with cold water and offering great customer service--thank you for that! We ordered our food directly with him, and he nailed it. My steak was cooked exactly the way I like it--no raw center, no red. Excellent job! I would have given five stars if not for the heat. Maybe next time when the AC is working!

It is insane how low people have scored this restaurant. I absolutely LOVE this place! Ambiance is nice, typical steakhouse vibe, service excellent every time. Today I got takeout and the order was perfect, I never need to look in the bag make sure it's all there like some places. I got the wood-grilled chicken salad which has this beautifully light champagne vinaigrette, you can taste the smoke flavor in the chicken, that and the gorgonzola balance the sweetness of the dressing and raisins. Also a fully loaded baked potato cooked to perfection. The asparagus also has that wonderful smoke taste from the wood grill. Whether dinning in or getting takeout I always leave happy :)

Tahoe joe is a old school steak place that gives you a FANTASTIC steak. Unique to its name, i had the famous Joes Steak - which is a 19 hour slow roasted top sirloin - tender to a fault and wonderfully flavorful. Sarah was absolutely helpful in steering me between prime rib and ribeye to the unique Joes Steak that beat my expectations, all done with a bright smile! The decor is old school, woody, and when i first stepped in i had a feeling the steak was gonna be good. The manhatten drink was ok. Pricing is not too bad either.

My son received a Tahoe Joe's gift certificate from his school for perfect attendance. Loved that Tahoe Joe's was supporting schools so we decided to give them a try. As a first time visitor I was surprised that the menu was not as robust as I expected. The server was pleasant although a bit slow which was surprising given how few customers there were. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp were good and filling although the veggies were over cooked, almost burned. Not my preference. The chicken pot pie soup was the highlight of the meal. Very thick and tasty. My son enjoyed his ribs and was quite satisfied. Overall it was a decent experience. Might be back but only if in the area.

Went for lunch today with two friends. As always, the place was great. I've settled on that California Chicken Sandwich, so that's what I get every time. Never a compliant. Good news--they have apparently returned to giving you a cheesecake for your birthday :)

Ask the Community - Tahoe Joe's

Is the dinner menu served all day or just after 4pm?

There is a lunch menu and a dinner menu, but with the exception of prime rib (after 3 pm) I believe the other dinner entrees are available at lunch time.

Are there tv's in the bar area? Happy hour looks good on paper, looking for another spot to catch the game.

    Sports are on

    Any vegetarian options?

They have great salads and lots of veggies or. Mushroom fries, artichokes, potatoes and rice.

For the main course, the Harrah Ranch steaks were incredibly flavorful and juicy, The T-Bone steak we ordered was cooked exactly to our liking. Even the side salad stood out because the lettuce was so crisp. To top it all off, the service was fantastic from the second you walk in. When making the reservation, i made a note that it was our anniversary! When we arrived and checked in, the hostess acknowledged our anniversary, as did our server! Very hospitable that they acknowledged it, as some other places don't. The food has been great both times and the portions are generous! Some high end places get a little skimpy, especially with the sides. Not here! This time around, I ordered the Prime Rib, got the whipped potatoes and substituted the Brussels sprouts. Both were generous portions. Also love the added touch that they'll give you fresh horseradish to go along with the horseradish cream for a little extra kick. My wife had the Ribeye, which we've both ordered before, and it's delicious. She ordered the cashew green beans, but they were very saucy and some were burnt. When brought up to the server, she said she would have the kitchen make her a fresh ordered without hesitation. Within a few minutes, a nice sized portion of fresh Cashew Green Beans arrived! The Wedge Salad is also delicious and generously portioned. It could actually be a meal for someone, if so inclined. The atmosphere is also very welcoming and private. We've sat inside and on the patio, and actually preferred the patio seating! I can't say enough about the hospitality of the staff though. There's a gentleman who is either the lead host or a manager, that's been there both times. He takes a personal interest in the customers and makes sure to visit each table, which you don't often see. As we were walking out, he was also walking out behind us. Even though we were a few steps ahead, he wished us (again) a happy anniversary and to have a great night! This is a special place in Fresno and a great choice for a special occasion. Anyways, with regards to the food, my partner and I got some spicy baked mussels to share, with a ribeye steak and lamb chops for entrees. The mussels were pretty underwhelming - I felt that it was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and didn't offer much in terms of flavor. With the entrees, we asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium but they came rare, whereas the steak did come in medium rare as ordered. The lamb chops were okay but the steak was extremely salty and a bit too charred; I had to wash down my bites with water. With both entrees we were given a choice of either rice pilaf or garlic baked potatoes. The rice pilaf legit tasted like elementary school lunch rice (the ones with the teriyaki meat patties if you recall the 2000s, iykyk). The potatoes were alright, not bad but not great. Also wanted to note that both dishes came with like 2-3 tiny cherry tomatoes which is barely anything and would last you at most a couple of bites. Last thing I wanted to note is pricing. The lamb chops were in the upper $30s and the steak was $59, which pretty overpriced imo for whay is presented. Of course, that's also on me for trying to go for a "16 oz" steak (which I kinda doubt it was) vs. their pastas or other popular dishes but I think it's worth pointing out. All in all, I really think you can get much better bang for your buck at other semi-fancy/fancy places such as LimeLite or Willow Osteria to name a couple of examples. I would give this a 1 but the service was admittedly quite solid. Sadly, I don't think we'll come back.
