This restaurant is suppose to give a military discount. Well I was denied my military discount, the manager said he couldn't give it to me because the system wouldn't let him. REALLY? I have never been to a restaurant that the manager can't fix or change a bill, so I dont buy that excuse. It's a great overall experience and the service is great. I went a couple of weeks ago and treated a few of my friends from out of town and everything tasted great including my favorite lobster bisque! The only reason I'm leaving two stars is because the lack of meat that I requested. I asked three separate times for the Picanha and received none! It's my favorite meat by far and was very disappointed that I didn't get any. I heard from multiple inside sources that the Picanha was the most expensive meat and it has doubled in price the past year and that's why they are stingy with it. If I'm paying for it I expect to receive it. I also requested lamb chops only to receive them right when we getting ready to depart the restaurant and were already full. The "salad bar" was incredibly mediocre -- and what you have to rely on for all of your non-meat. And these foods were not kept fresh or at the correct temperatures! I went in July 2014 with my parents. I had their signature cocktail "The Caipirinha" to drink (with strawberry added), and it was the best drink I have ever had in my life!! I cannot speak highly enough of that drink. The bartender certainly knows his (her?) drinks. I hope that someday I can come back for happy hour and have more. I had some of their chicken, steak, and sausage. While the meat was, perhaps, not the best I've had in my life, it was very good. I had dessert too, because I am obsessed with sweet things and dessert is always the highlight of my meal. I can't understand why some people would pay to eat out and not get the best part (dessert)! It seems crazy to me! Anyway, I can't remember exactly what I had, (maybe the banana pie? I like bananas) but it was also very good, and I am very picky about desserts. If the dessert is not very good, I won't order dessert at the restaurant again....and I would order dessert here again. Also, I loved the fried bananas they served with dinner. I had the two that came with our meal and they brought me more for free. The service was good. I left stuffed and happy! I think I gave it down one star because I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that dessert had to be paid for separately =(. I have been here a few times and I will continue to return on special occasions. When we just went this evening we had Chris as our server and he was phenomenal. He was so attentive, informative, quick with service and just fantastic overall. This time was by far the best experience we have had there and because of Chris and our favorite meat server, who my nephew now named "Meat Jesus". They made us feel so welcome and like we were all friends. To anyone who has second guessed going here, do yourself and your stomach a favor. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is great, servers are great, managers come and visit and it's overall one of my top places to go. I will be returning, and I will be requesting Chris. I have been to several AYCE brazilian steakhouses in CA and NC, and have not met one that I didn't like until Texas de Brazil. Okay, let me rephrase. I don't exactly dislike it, but for the price they charged, I was expecting more. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't remember my server's name, but she made sure my guest and I were having a wonderful dining experience throughout our visit. The salad bar was actually delicious, which is a rarity. I remember a cold fish dish was served at the bar with some kind of jizzy looking sauce. Don't remember the fish or what kind of sauce, but it was bomb. The meats however did not meet my expectations. Most meats that were served to us were overly salted and tough to chew. I was so disappointed, considering that the price they charge are mainly for the meats. I also had creme brulee afterwards. This was our gracious salvage to the disappointing meats. I don't think I will return. I can get a better quality of meats back home in NC for the same price. Although, it will be quite a while before I return to the south. Maybe I will come back whenever I'm having my fat girl craving for endless meats! Other than the meats, I really couldn't complain at all. It absolutely was a great dining experience. read more

Having listened to our friends great reviews of this place, the wife and I gave it a shot on a Tuesday evening . We booked online and were promptly greeted and seated within a few minutes. Dining room was quite full for the middle of the week. Our waitress, Samantha, hit it off with us from the start. She was great; taking the time to carefully explain our dining options from start to finish. She was never intrusive, but was always there to bring over a clean plate; top off water; or ask if we wanted the meat to be cooked differently. As others have mentioned, the salad bar and the meat selections are wonderful and even overwhelming. You truly could go up four pant sizes in one sitting here- so go easy on the salad bar if you can help yourself. Management also came over on a couple of occasions to inquire about the evening. Two dinners/salad bar(included), two drinks; and two desserts- Bill came to $113. Worth it. TIP- sign up on their website for their promotions and emails. Honestly, I was beyond impressed with this place. I came here for dinner the night before my birthday. The wait was not terrible as long as you sit at the bar and have a drink or two...or five. The service was excellent. After being seated I went to the salad bar, which by far, was the most impressive one I've ever seen! The variety was incredible! Heaps of smoked salmon, spicy shrimp, artichokes, salad ingredients, various types of cheeses, Brazilian potato salad, pickled veggies... The list goes on! After I had that, I began to receive meat. Holy. Sh*t. I've never seen so much filet mignon, steak, chicken... I filled up on the filet mignon and steak(can't remember the type). It was so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and fried bananas were amazing as well, if you're into fried bananas. They were delicious. I avoided the rolls so I wouldn't fill up on that. So here's the deal..... Took my wife out for Valentine's Day and booked a reservation for 9:45 pm. Apparently this place closes at 10:00 pm. The entire staff looked annoyed, agitated and absolutely miserable that we came at 9:45. So why accept the reservation? I have been here twice, the first and last time. We were a party of 5 people, service was horrendous. We ended up getting our own clean plates and utensils. Dirty dishes were never removed from the table. The food was so salty much of it was inedible. The only good service was the water boy, who kept our glasses filled to the brim. I am sure that was to fill us up with water so we wouldn't eat as much. The atmosphere made me feel like I was eating in the mall food court. Comments to the manager went unanswered, told "they would use our experience as a training tool", meanwhile we were out $260.00. Visited this restaurant recently and I'm completely impressed. The atmosphere, the service and the food are all top notch! Just what syracuse needs,big city cuisine! We were a group of eight so we made reservations and were promptly seated. Order the passion fruit caipirinha, you won't be disappointed. They have a nice array of cold and hot food in the buffet and after filling our plates and taking our seats they brought out some of the most fabulous perfectly cooked meat I've ever tasted. The Texas DeBrazil restaurants are usually fabulous. I have been to the one in Fla several times and Chicago once. I went to the newest location inside the Destiny mall in Syracuse Ny last night. I must say it was awful! Very few meat selections. Only 1 meat stick carrier on the floor at a time. When I finally was offered a piece of meat it was dripping blood so i asked for it to be well done, I was denied. Salad bar offered very few items. Waiter kept starring at me and kept standing by my table, yet my glass was always empty and I had to keep asking for soda refills. Literally took over 20 mns to get my bill after I had to ask for it at front desk. Better service and quality at a McD's value menu. Stay away from Syracuse NY location of Texas Debrazil! read more
