Staff were kind and expedient from the get go. Previous experience years ago of feeling rushed thru along with an hour wait wasn't positive but so greatly improved on today's visit. Cancer is already sensitive and scary situation so patients should always be treated with great care and individualized attention, the staff felt assuring and patient today. Parking was not a problem and the distance to the door was very accessible. With the new redesign, the waiting room and patient rooms are very comfortable and spacious.

Whichever oncologist is currently available, that's who you'll get. Unbelievable! Shoving medications down your throat whether you really need them or not. Failure to inform particularly vulnerable patients about side effects they are likely to endure. Insisting on trying to fill prescriptions through their own pharmacy, costing hundreds or thousands of dollars, bypassing cheaper pharmacies. When my own insurance company preapproved payment through their own in-house pharmacy, these greedy jerks kept calling me, telling me they were going to fill my prescriptions at outrageous prices. Again, unbelievable! P.S. it's been my experience that any reviews filled with mostly five star and one star are very suspect. That usually means real people are angry, giving one star reviews, so the organizations try to balance that anger by posting fake five star reviews. How else to explain people who hate them, along with people who claim they are perfect?

She spent extra effort to become a specialist in internal medicine, but seems to exist to care for families. 'Caring' is the most descriptive adjective for her. Our sons and their families live out of town, but if any one of them got really sick, we would run, not walk, to get them here for Dr. Chanda-Kim's opinion. It must have been through the grace of God that we found her. We always have the feeling that she truly cares for us, and that her heart is set on keeping us healthy. We never feel rushed when we are with her, but it is clear many folks have found out how good she is and she has gathered a large retinue of patient-admirers. I would wager none of them feel rushed either. She has proven with us many times many times the Lord blessed her to be a brilliant diagnostician. Dr Chanda-Kim is as brilliant as any of the many great specialists in her 'recommended' specialist list. For any specialist to make it to her list is a feat and high distinction indeed. Finally her nurse and associates are proficient and caring too. Her association with Seton has always provided competent and reliable billing, insurance contact, back office help, and easy to use Patient Portals

Although the two excellent doctors I saw at this practice quite literally saved my life, I'm…read moreunfortunately changing my review to one star due to ongoing issues with the billing department. I'm on Medicare with a Part G supplemental policy, which means that after my annual deductible (around $232), I should have no out-of-pocket costs--what Medicare doesn't cover, my supplemental insurance does. Over the course of my care--including ultrasound, CT scan, PET scan, biopsy, and a 10-day hospital stay totaling nearly $500,000--I had zero billing issues with any provider except this one. My GI doctor, ARA, primary care physician, St. David's Medical Center, and multiple specialists all billed correctly with no problems. Nearly a year later, this practice billed me about $18. After spending significant time on the phone with them, Medicare, and my supplemental insurer, that amount was revised to about $14--which I ultimately paid out of frustration after hours of back-and-forth. Now I've received a new bill for $640 (from March 2025). When I called, I was given unclear explanations about "co-insurance" and told to contact my supplemental insurance company--but the bill itself is difficult to interpret and includes vague line items like "Adjustment SEQUESTRATION W/0," with no meaningful explanation. At this point, I've lost confidence in the billing process. I will be filing complaints with the Texas Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. There's only so much time and energy a patient should have to spend trying to resolve what appears to be a billing issue. PREVIOUS REVIEW, WRITTEN APPROX. 3/25 After determining I had a lesion on my liver from an ultrasound, I had a CT scan and then a biopsy. I was referred to Texas Oncology by my GI Doctor and got an appointment with Dr. Chadha within a few days. Dr. Chadha was great. Calm, confident and very knowledgeable. We were pretty scared but although he didn't minimize the danger of this cancer, he said that it looked as if it was localized. He ordered a PET scan to see if this cancer had spread anyplace. Then set up an appointment with Dr. McKenzie, the surgeon, for a week later. I also had several vials of blood taken in the office before I left. I was pretty impressed with the efficiency of the office. I went to see Dr. McKenzie the same day as my PET scan. He said he'd glanced at the results and it looked as if nothing had spread, but it still had to be evaluated by the radiologist. He scheduled surgery to remove part of my liver for a short time later. I went in for surgery at St. David's Medical Center. I have to give a shout out to that hospital. I ended up spending 10 days in the hospital as my digestive system didn't "wake up" properly after the surgery. I had been told that there was a very good chance this would happen and he wouldn't send me home until it was working. The people who treated me at that hospital were marvelous. Every single nurse, tech and cleaning person was just terrific! Two days after the surgery Dr. McKenzie told me that the results couldn't have been better. He had removed all of it, there was no spread anyplace and I was cancer free. I was thrilled that I wouldn't need radiation or chemo either. Dr. McKenzie is such a warm, empathetic gentleman. He takes pride in his work and who wouldn't be proud of performing life-saving surgery? Marvelous Doctors!

I…read moredislike going to any sort of doctor's office, so I wasn't thrilled to have to make a second trip to get my rib fracture checked out. Anyway, these folks were very helpful about getting us an appointment set up. My husband called first thing in the morning and they were able to slot us that morning. We arrived ten minutes early, as requested, checked in effortlessly, took a seat in the nice waiting area (they even had a couple of loveseats so my husband could comfort me while we waited). I was called in without much of a wait at all, and was not rushed as I gingerly and slowly made my way to their backroom. My husband was permitted to accompany me, which I appreciated (though obviously he had to wait outside the X-ray room to not be needlessly exposed). The nurse was kind to me and listened to my concerns and was very empathetic. She asked good clarifying questions about the nature of the pain, location, length of injury, etc. I was very happy they had an X-ray machine that allowed me to stay standing rather than having to lie down (laying down and getting back up are quite painful in my current state). It looked to be a well-equipped facility and efficient operation with knowledgeable staff. The nurse was quick and communicative, and the whole thing took no time at all. I think we were in and out in under twenty minutes, tops, start to finish. She instructed us to stop by the front desk and request the results sent to myself, since I don't have a primary care doctor and the urgent care people we saw the day before were useless pricks. Went home and had an update in my email inbox about the injury within two hours!

The…read moresecond time it had to be rescheduled because although I communicated when scheduling that I had a temporary device inserted, I was not told to bring the office report that it was removed. It would have been simple for the tech to simply call the providers office to have it faxed but she chose to send me away. I was told to bring it on the next appointment. Not fast track was made so I had to wait a long time to get a new appointment. That being said, this time when I scheduled I let the staff know the issue and that I now had the permanent device implanted. I asked about if I had to bring it they said no, just the medical card and device program. I then uploaded the information about my device including a photo of the card. I then received a call from the corporate office about the information I had already uploaded. I called back and told the person who called me it had already been uploaded. She said that was all she needed and I was good to go. I arrived early for my 9:20pm appointment. The person who checked me in and the tech Josh were respectful. I dressed for my exam. Allison, who works at the Westlake and Kyle offices. the MRI tech is completely disrespectful. She called someone else who remained on the phone. A they spoke I came to understand that I would need to reschedule, because I did not bring the excise report from the trial, even though the control module I had turned off both devices including the trial that had been removed. I indicated I understood I needed to reschedule. And that I specifically asked the scheduler who indicated it was unnecessary. Then Allison felt the need to scold me telling me well you were TOLD.... This was completely uncalled for. She could have simply said yes ma'am, I'm sorry but we will still need that report for liability purposes. Not begin to argue or scold me. I told her several times she did not need to speak anymore, but she kept trying to in an effort to put me in my place. She is very rude and lacks the bedside manner required to deal with patients. I would recommend she go to training so she understands it is not ok to be confrontational. Thank heavens my insurance covers me at Baylor Scott & White where they take the time to train staff and things that are necessary are handled well before the patient gets to the office. I have always used ARA in the past, but now I understand that, as a paying customer, one who ultimately funds these facilities, we do not need to subject ourselves to rude, discourteous, disrespectful and misinformed treatment to receive the services that we require. In addition to which they have kept my money for 8 months. I vote DO NOT continue to fund these institutions by continuing to provide them with your patronage. Just say yes to Baylor Scott & White and no to Austin Radiology Associates.
