I brought my wife here for a steroid injection to help with sciatic pain. If you have BCBS, expect a $55 co-pay. I was hoping to join her in the procedural room, but since they use an x-ray machine, guests are not permitted. She was out only after 20 minutes feeling significantly better. The sciatic pain had been greatly relieved and her mood was elevated. She'll be due back in 2 weeks for a followup. Update to follow if need be. read more

Dr.khan was super nice but their medical assistants are a mess. Audrey was taking care of me on my first visit on a Friday and she said I'll send in the referral for MRI and X-Ray and it was never sent. So I had to wait till Monday and call the office again. They said it was never sent so they sent it on Monday. I got a call from ARA they said the referral doesn't have a doctors signature so referral so they need to send it again. I called the Texas pain and spine today to put in a complaint and Alex the medical assistant said we sent the paperwork on Monday, i said because I called and told you guys that it was never sent. She goes "We do apologize but we get busy sometimes" Let me remind you I went in first thing in the morning on Friday when no one was there but me. I really liked Dr.Kahn but I am not going to deal with this incompetence. read more

Dr Kahn is awesome. I started seeing him after I was still having nerve pain and numbness 9 months post op acdf c5-c7. He took a cautious approach and it was a good 6 months before he recommended any procedures. To be sure nothing was wrong, he ordered a fu mri which revealed the damage. Dr Kahn as a gentle, but healing touch. I have used him now for over a year. His mannerism, office staff, EVERYTHING about him is a 100+. He has used nerve block on me and wow the difference is amazing. He is conservative with pain medications ... but does give them. The only good thing about this office is they can get you in quickly. Dr.Kahn is very injection and procedure happy, he basically says thats the only treatment he offers. So if you want different options for treatment go somewhere else. If your okay with getting loads of injections then he's your guy. Im a self pay patient and basically wasted $300 on the first and only appointment and what's incredibly annoying is I spoke to his nurse before making the appointment and she assured me that he used other treaments (other than injections), only come to find out after I pay and waited to see him do I find out he just wants to do a shit ton of injections only. So if you want to be a pin cushion then Dr. Kahn is perfect for you. read more

I'm 95% bed bound right now with writhing pain and on the most conservative and ridiculous pain management plan. (I have surgery planned in one week.) 1 hydrocodone every twelve hours and Tylenol both of which are good for nothing and don't scratch the surface. Nerve blocker twice a day which does actually work for a couple hours. But what about the other 20? I've explained my excruciating and continually worsening pain multiple times and I'm not being heard. I was told, "We've set you up with an appointment in TWO DAYS." and then when the appointment came, " Just try Tylenol." I've had to take an additional week of work so I can lay down, squirm and suffer until my surgery. I just wish I was being heard. read more

I had an amazing experience with Dr.Khan and his staff. Everyone that came in contact with me in the office and on the phone were helpful and friendly. After having spine injections they called and checked on me and every question and worries I had they put my mind at ease. During this time I was also in treatment with other doctors but Dr. Khan's practice was far the best at giving me peace of mind with any concerns I had. If you want shots go see this guy. He failed to even inform me that I had a cyst pressing on a nerve in my back that was clear on the mri that he supposedly reviewed. All he's going to offer is shots or nerve ablation. He was practically falling asleep in my follow up appointment. I would never dArken his door again. read more

I don't write reviews; however, telling my story here is part of my recovery process from the 2 1/2 months of excruciating agony I suffered under "pain management." Back in September, I woke up at 1:00 a.m. in such pain that I had to force myself to breathe. I was almost sure I had a ruptured disc because I had one in my lower back several years ago. My PCP suspected an impinged nerve as the pain ran from my neck, across my left shoulder blade, and down my arm. Two fingers were completely numb on my left hand. He gave me pain medication and ordered an MRI. It was everything I could do to lie on the table during the MRI, and the technician even offered to reschedule my appointment so they could provide sedation. I forced myself to endure the 15 minutes inside the machine because I desperately needed help. After a ruptured disc in my neck was confirmed by the MRI, my PCP gave me one more week of pain medication (two weeks total) and a referral to a surgeon. The surgeon gave me prescription-strength ibuprofen, said I didn't need pain medication, and referred me to Dr. Kahn. Still desperately seeking help, I saw Dr. Kahn and received a shot in my back that gave me one day of relief. I soon received a call from Dr. Kahn's office during which I said that I was in severe pain, could only sleep sitting up on the couch while leaning on my right shoulder, and was desperately trying to keep my job as I couldn't hold my left arm up to type on my computer. I heard the words, "I understand" so many times from this office that I don't ever want to hear these words again. I was given a nerve medication that had me walking into walls and suffering very uncomfortable muscle tingling and shaking in my legs. I reported all of this during phone calls from Dr. Kahn's office. I agreed to another shot but had to wait until insurance approved it which took 3 more weeks. I was contacted additional times by Dr. Kahn's office from someone who was very sweet but was offered nothing to ease the pain. When the disc in my lower back ruptured years before, we lived in a different part of Texas and I had excellent care, so I struggled to understand why I was left to needlessly suffer. My employer understood my condition and saved my family from financial devastation--including loss of health insurance--by allowing me to work from home where I developed a way to manipulate my workspace so I could type (too elaborate to go into details). I literally could have saved $1000 in copays, several days of missed work due to doctor appointments--and most damaging--a loss of trust in medical care in the US. The bottom line is--I suffered such excruciating pain and was ignored when I verbalized this pain for such a length of time that my husband and I are researching and making a plan to seek real medical CARE should either of us need it--and this plan will not include Texas Pain and Spine Physicians. read more

Completely unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. They require 24 hours advance notice if you want to cancel your appointment, but they canceled mine the day after they confirmed it and with less than 24 hours until my appointment. Guess it doesn't matter to them that my wife and I had to get the day off work for the appointment. read more
