So many people had told us this was the best! NOT! We ordered quiche....bottom crust was still doughy! Not much taste, except for an overpowering "egg" taste. I chose the chocolate pie, thinking it would be like Granny's! The chocolate tasted like it came from a Sexton Food can of pudding...NOT homemade. Bottom crust, again, was not baked to a crisp...still raw spots! My friend ordered the Almond Joy pie...It looked like rice pudding mixed with small chocolate chips. Too much coconut! She commented that the bottom crust was a bit soft. For the price charged, I am not returning. I think a good idea for a salad sample plate would be a small scoop of chicken, tuna, and another choice. I suggested it...they NIXED it! read more

When we went in, the prices were different than online and the items we purchased were just alright. Food is good (I love the chicken pot pie)! Sandwiches leave a little to be desired. Staff is hit or miss on customer service. We were shopping and enjoying squeeze me on the square. As we were leaving and saw a giant slice of pie. We waited in line for 10 minutes. The menu was very busy and lackluster. We got three mini pies. A cherry crumble, a pecan, and a peach. We had our pies warmed up. They were delivered very warm and would have been perfect for ice cream. Too bad ice cream wasn't offered to us. We dug in expecting good pie. We were VERY disappointed. The peach pie was EXTREMELY dry. The cherry crumble had little filling. The pecan pie had way too much vanilla which made it hard to eat. The crust on all of the pies was very hard and dry. The giant plastic slice of pie mounted to the roof of the building was probably tastier than the pie inside the store. If only they would serve a slice of pie like that with the filling oozing out like that...Oh well. We will never return to this establishment and never to the City of Kyle the "pie capitol of Texas" which is the biggest lie I've ever heard. read more

Have heard about this place & finally stopped by for lunch & pie to go. I agree with the reviews regarding service staff, not good! Quite rude! I took a cupcake back up to the counter because it was a soggy mess & the guy behind the counter wanted to argue about it. As far as lunch goes, the sandwiches were on stale bread with hard Colby cheese (no one asked what kind we wanted) & the food overall is mediocre, probably best to just focus on the pie. Should have known when place was not busy on sat @ lunchtime. If u have kids, don't get the choc cream pie as it has a dark choc flavor that kids don't typically like. We ordered 40 pies from Texas Pie Company for our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier with them! We had a mix of blackberry, peanut butter, buttermilk, and apple pies. Our guests raved about them. We ordered ahead of time, then sent a friend to pick them up on Friday afternoon. All in all, a great experience. I'm sad to say that the second visit I had here was just as unpleasant. Yes, the pie is actually VERY good and they often have over ten varieties of pie to choose from, so that's wonderful. It is nice to have a place nearby to find a dessert for a party, etc. - a place that isn't H-E-B. However, the people working here all seem annoyed that you're bothering them, they aren't helpful, they don't give you any tips or recommendations, and I honestly felt like I had walked into someone's home by accident. This turned out to be a great family owned joint good for a quick cold deli lunch and FANTASTIC pies. The deli food is nothing fancy at all, but the price is right and it tastes okay. The pies on the other hand are OUTSTANDING. If you get anything here, get the Chocolate Pie. I'm not huge on chocolate and I had 3 slices at Thanksgiving. They have, hands down, the. best. apple. pie. I've. ever. tasted. ever. Everything about it is perfect. The top is like a crunchy chewy sugar cookie. The shell is soft but wont fall apart. The filling is a perfect consistency and is perfectly sweetened without a hint of sourness that plagues so many others. Apple pie has been my favorite for 22 years and I've had it on three different continents. Hither to my favorite was always my mother's. Whose isn't? I love my mother and would never tell her as much, but their pie makes hers taste like shameful garbage. I did try their chocolate cream once which wasn't anything special but mercy, that apple pie. They also have a peanut butter one that I've been meaning to try but as you might be able to tell I'm just a wee bit preoccupied. It's only fifteen minutes south of Austin and well worth the drive. Came here this past weekend for lunch and of course pie! The egg salad was really good! My husband ordered the chicken salad and the kids had turkey and cheese and they all ate their food. We've been wanting to try this place for some time, but due to their previous odd hours kept missing out. Finally last week stopped in for a late lunch. Tried the Ham & Gouda Quiche, not bad taste but crust was over-baked. Sandwiches were acceptable. Then we got 6 small pies to go. All different flavors. We weren't WOW'd. I think they have new owners and this place is hopping. We tried the blueberry, chocolate fudge, pumpkin, and the almond joy pies and oh my God they were all melt in your mouth, stomp your feet, and yell awesome! I've never had a pie from them but we order dinner from TPC about once a month or so. We are all most fond of the chicken pot pie in my family. For $17 we pick up a dinner already cooked, ready to serve, feed our family of 6 and have leftovers for the hubs to take to lunch. You do need to specify if you want it heated already or you'll be picking up a frozen entree. The king ranch is good too. Very different from my own but my kids like it. Overall, an excellent alternative to 'picking up something on the way home' if you know you don't want to cook tonight. read more

The pies here are fantastic! But be aware they close at 4:00 on Saturdays. We went for pie today half an hour late. In the 3 minutes we sat there searching yelp for other dessert places, 7 people (not including our group of 7) walked up to the doors and were just as frustrated as we were to find that they were already closed. I admit I am a pie snob. The chicken pot pie is almost as good as homemade. Crust is nice and thin and crisp, filling is ample with lots of chicken, veggies, and gravy. All in all one of the best I've had. I would go back for it! BUT, the cherry pie I tried was not nearly as good. The bottom crust was too thick and almost burned, filling was tasty but too dry and there was not nearly enough of it. The topping was a crumb topping and WAY too thick, hence part of the reason for the dry filling. Not much better than something you get in the frozen aisle at the grocery store. I was sorry I hadn't tried one of the other pies just to give me something to compare this one to. All in all, a good place for the lunch menu, but go somewhere else for dessert! read more

I used Texas Pies instead of the traditional wedding cake. I saved a ton of money and it was huge hit at the wedding! It also provided our guests with options, as opposed to the typical vanilla. Also, it was much easier to get it to the wedding - we had friends pick up 14 pies instead of paying a delivery fee. Would recommend this option to any bride in the area. read more

I was just craving a sandwich. A simple turkey sandwich. Not a sub, not some big bread monstrosity. So, I went to the Texas Pie Company in Kyle. I remembered they have some sort of lunch deal where you get a sandwich, chips and a cookie for a relatively good price. I went in, ordered the turkey/swiss on sourdough, and upgraded the cookie to a piece of chocolate cream pie. It was the best sandwich i've had in a long time, simple, to the point and delicious.
