The first time we visited this place, the food was outstanding. Going back for a second time, we both ordered a half rack of baby back ribs, I asked for a side of mac & cheese and a baked sweet potato. When the food was delivered to our table extraordinarily quickly, we both noticed that our food was cold, as in as cold as being pulled out of the fridge, slathered with a little BBQ sauce and put on a plate. The only thing warm in my order was the baked sweet potato. Their version of "Texas Toast" was toasted white bread, not even Wonder Bread. No flavor to the cold white bread toast. Nothing special to write home about on this visit, which was disappointing, considering it was a Friday, usually one of the busiest times for most restaurants. This place was practically empty when we pulled into the lot. When we brought it to the attention of the staff, the young lady who was our server was busy helping every other table and not looking toward us. I got the attention of the manager and when he came over, I explained that everything (except the baked sweet potato) was cold. He took up both plates, apologized profusely and took the plates into the kitchen. This got the attention of our server and she asked what was wrong. When he explained to her that all of both plates were cold, she finally came over to talk to us and briefly explained they had a new person in the kitchen. I was thinking, if you have a new person in the kitchen, how bad is it when they can't understand that hot food needs to be cooked in order to be considered "hot"? The second plates they brought out were "warmer" than the previous ones but not by much. It was warm enough to eat and it still tasted good, the meat still fell off the bones and it was filling. The "Texas Toast" is NOT Texas Toast, no matter how you define it. In the end, when a restaurant makes a mistake like that, they usually compensate the patrons for their mistake. We were charged full price for our meal, which we paid without a problem, but this was NOT the "A Team" of this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good but the initial presentation wasn't on par with opur previous experience here. We will come back again, hoping they will perform as good as they did the first time we were there. read more

My husband's brother and I were driving from DC to Reedville Virginia. He had just arrived from Denver and pretty hungry. So we decided to stop here for dinner. We shared ribs and two sides. They gave us a huge portion of ribs with lots of fries and bread. Ribs were good but not juicy enough for us give them 5 stars. First time trying this place, great service from waitstaff. Super friendly and knowledgeable! We had helpful suggestions on the menu which really helped narrow down our decisions. We started with a fried green beans appetizer which was insanely good. Best part of the meal! It came with ranch dipping sauce, but we loved adding the sauces on the table to it. They offered mild, hot, and sweet BBQ sauces. I suggest the sweet cuz you can really taste the brown sugar. We both took the waitress' suggestion for the beef brisket sandwich on texas toast. Bread was crispy and held up nicely. We added alot to the sandwich including coleslaw and BBQ sauce. After lunch, we ordered ice cream for dessert. This was our second favorite thing we ate! I had the baby back ribs, they were superb, I can't imagine them being better. My wife had the sliders, she chose to get all three chicken. I don't know how they fit so much chicken on each one! She only ate one and I got one of her leftovers it was also delicious. The coleslaw and potato salad were on point. We also had the fried pickle spears, obviously made by the restaurant, I couldn't believe we finished the huge portion. I appreciated the BBQ sauce choice not being overwhelming and surprising to me we both went sweet which is not usual. I wish I remembered our waitress's name but she was a patient gem to everyone. Over the years I've eaten at T-ribs many times. Lunch, dinner and often carry-out. I've always liked it. My wife, not so much. Tonight we stopped in on the way home from the airport and ordered carry-out. 25 minutes later, with no one in front of us, In fact no one else in the place, we received our order. We drove home, 10 minutes. Opened our dinners and found a "well done " burger raw as can be. My chicken was soooo dry I thought it was a loaf of stale bread. Major disappointment! I've been disappointed at T-ribs before but never to the point I needed to tell you about it. Our dinner went in the trash. I'll go back someday. But not anytime soon. C'mon guys. Twin Kiss has some great ice cream but lately have been disappointed with getting very runny milk shakes, almost like drinking milk they are so thin. Wish they would be more consistent. read more

The quality of the food remains top knotch, 5 star (see previous reviews), but the servers as of late are hit or miss, ranging from 2 star to 4. I ordered the ribs that were over cooked and tough and I don't even know what kind of ribs they were cause they look different than a ribs I've ever eaten before my friend had the brisket it was dry and he didn't even finish it and he loves the brisket. The coleslaw was not even close to being as good as the Texas Ribs And Clinton, Maryland, and the french fries came to the table cold. I went here on Mother's Day because my mom wanted ribs and I did not feel like riding to DC. I ordered baby back ribs thinking that they would be meaty and tender. They were neither. Small ribs and they were tough. They tasted like they were cooked in the oven and not on the grill. No smoke taste at all. I was very dissatisfied and my mom was as well. That took FOREVER to make and I am still not sure why. About 30 mins later I get my food. I had a long drive back home so I sampled one of the ribs. Wait for it...... WHAT?! ZERO SEASONING, BOILED, CLAMY FEEL LIKE A WET FINGER!!! I almost gagged. By then I was half way home on a long drive. So I hoped that it was just a bad peice. NOPE... The whole rack tasted like that and had a light funky smell to it. I ordered a smoked chicken salad as well. I love it here! Great BBQ, delicious cream of crab soup, great hush puppies and refreshing sweet tea! Pretty much all you need!! They always have a steady stream of patrons and it's locals so you know that the food is good because they keep coming back. I like that it's not a big chain and it has a small town restaurant feel. Friendly staff too! Oh my most recent visit I dined for lunch for the first time. I got a chicken Caesar wrap and I really enjoyed it. You don't see that on a lot of menus and it was great to have something different. They gave me a huge serving of fries which was slightly overcooked to my liking but they were fresh and crispy. First time dining here with my parents last night. Food: 1/2 rack baby back with fries and slaw: - I just wasn't excited about the rib flavor. I was happy with how they were cooked but the bbq sauce just tasted like Kraft - fries are the 'steak cut' fries with no seasoning. Normally I hate fries like this and won't even eat them, but these were cooked quite well -slaw was my favorite part of my meal. Light and fresh. I wish I had ordered 2 slaw sides Service: It's a small space, but it was packed and there was only 1 server who was very overwhelmed and kept making mistakes. My dad ordered a full rack of ribs and only got half. My mom asked for no fries and got fries and when the time for the bill came, it was the entirely wrong bill (but somehow correct table number). We pass this place everyday on our way home and have never tried it so we finally decided to come here for the first time on Sunday, we enjoyed it so much we tried to come back on Monday but they were closed so we came back today (Tuesday) and brought the whole family! The first time we shared sides but today I ordered extra sides cause I couldn't decide and hubby didn't want to share his lol. We tried the house BBQs and the sweet one was the best, so good. Very disappointed. We tried a number of items and most of them were not edible. On the plus side, all the meat (brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs) were cooked just fine, but nothing had a bit of seasoning. When we put the house bbq sauce on, it was nothing special. In fact, someone in our party remarked that it tasted like Chinese sweet and sour sauce. The cole slaw and baked beans were similar to what comes from a school cafeteria. The worst, however, was the mac and cheese. It was literally elbow macaroni and scrambled eggs. I hate leaving reviews like this, because the staff were extremely nice and the food came out quickly, but when you spend over $50 on 3 meals, you'd like it to at least taste okay. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs, french fries with gravy and the macaroni salad. My friend had the brisket sandwich, french fries and coleslaw. Everything was excellent. The french fries were perfectly cooked crispy on the outside tender on the inside and not greasy. The macaroni salad and the coleslaw is some of the best I've ever had. I love fried food but I do not love smelling like fried food. Upon entering Twin Kiss Drive Inn, there was a rather unpleasant, fried odor in the air. Fried chittlins or some sort of intestinal parts would have been my guess. Food stuffs - strawberry shortcake sundae ($4) - a generous dessert made with a packaged, greasy cake, several mounds of decent soft serve ice cream, strawberry sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. In general, it seemed everyone was wowed at the size to price ratio, but not so wowed with the flavors. As far as desserts near Johnny Boy's, this is about the only place outside of Chain Store Hell (or Heaven depending on your disposition) that is Waldorf. A couple of friends ordered sandwiches there and again, were impressed by the value but not so much by the quality. Location - plenty of seating but like going to a pho restaurant, be prepared to wash your clothes afterwards. If you're wearing a dry clean only jacket, you may want to leave it in the car. Sorry to say that the pork chop in the carryout sampler platter #1 was NOT fresh- not completely spoiled, but NOT fresh, and NOT a different flavor simply from barbequing. Called and spoke to a manager, he offered complimentary platter replacement, I may take it, but doubtful, not our usual weekend trek. Sauce is red, but vinegar based, brisket pieces are very lean, so easily dry, burned ends - at least Dickies offers that as an option, 2 ribs ok. I think they need a different cook. read more

Aggressively indifferent staff. There are four tables of customers, two young women and an older man working the floor, but no one taking orders, refilling drinks, cleaning used plates away, or checking on eaters. The woman who brought the check, in the unasked-for-hurry-up-and-go typical of poor service, has been sitting with another table showing wedding photos for nearly fifteen minutes while I wait for a refill or, if nothing else,. someone to take my card and the check sonincan leave. It's a ribs joint, so I tried the ribs sandwich. Four ribs between slices of Texas toast. Bone-in ribs. It took longer for me to work the bones and cartilage out with my butter knife than it took for my food to arrive after I ordered it. Was there a point to calling it a sandwich? Second visit to this BBQ stop in RT 301. Good tasting BBQ. It's the vinegar based. I had the collards and fresh cut fries. Collards lacked flavor to me and it was the same on first visit. Plenty of fries and they were very good. Sandwich I plenty. You will leave full. Both visits the service was excellent and from what i gathered it looks like the owner was walking the restaurant checking on the patrons. That's a rarity now a days !
