Stopped by for early dinner on a Monday night. I was a party of one so decided to sit at the bar and not take up a table. I was delivered a hot bowl of rolls before I even sat down in my chair. Ordered iced tea. Was super fresh. I went for the 6 oz filet and loaded sweet potato and a salad. The steak was cooked to perfection medium rare. It cut with my fork no knife needed. I was visiting Amarillo for three days over Christmas, 2021. i arrived at the Texas Roadhouse the first night at 5:30 PM. they told me it was going to a hour to hour and half wake. My wife and I went to Bubbas across the parking lot and was seated right away and received excellent service. The second night we order from the Texas Roadhouse for pickup and it was a one hour waited again. So, we went into the bar to wait for our order. Customer arrived after us at the bar, order drinks and dinner and received their food before we got our to go order. The third night at the Texas Roadhouse, we order food to go, was told one hour to hour fifteen minutes. We went into the bar, order drinks and the same dinner we had order to go. We receive our drinks, dinner and ate before the order that we got to was ready. They also cater to the regular local people before they take care of tourist. I noticed that at the bar. So, if you are not a regular customer from Amarillo or if you are a visiting Amarillo, i would not recommend this place. Bubbas across. the parking lot will take care of you. I came here on Saturday night and it was PACKED. I have to say, for a place that's super packed that it was only a 20 minute wait for a table. I honestly think it was less. The customer service here is great. Our server Aaron was very attentive and later a, what I believe was manager or lead, came by to check on us as well. I appreciate how enthusiastic the servers give their birthday cheer. For a place that was super packed I gotta give to them for not letting them affect their business. Today was o birthday and I called at 6:40 p.m. to get on the reservation list, gave my phone number 951.400.8405, kept checking on the wait time, and was told 3 times that it would be another 25 to 35 minutes. At 8:55, I requested to speak to the manager as I was parked in the front door handicap spot, I saw people who arrived 1 hour after me being called to be seated. Still, the hostess is telling me it will be 35 minutes. I showed her my phone where I called at 6:40 pm. Showed her I had no texts from the roadhouse to tell me my table was ready. She took my phone and saw I was telling the truth, and she verified the number only to see her hostess had entered my phone number as 9514008504. The general manager never came to speak to me or to make the situation right. Our party of 4 left to Longhorns as we were treated very badly, 3 times I had gone inside to check on our wait and repeated our phone number and was told the that yes the would text us ithat we still had to wait!!! My son drove from Castlerock Colorado, and I drove to Amarillo from Odessa to meet halfway to celebrate his birthday. Roadhouse's mistake ruined our celebration. They need first of all to focus on the job, actually handwrite the phone number, and verify the number while the person is still there checking in. I hold no respect as the manager never stepped up to make things right. If I'm there, it's because I have money to pay. I'm generally a fan of Texas Roadhouse. I was thinking of finding one in Amarillo as I drove down I-40 and was pleasantly surprised to find one out front of my hotel. This one was not disappointing. I love their fresh baked roles with honey butter served when you come in. I like the buckets of peanuts and peanut shells on the floor. I like the large mugs of beer and very well prepared steaks. My Caesar salad was better than most. My sirloin steak was perfectly done and tender. The steak fries were yummy. Plenty of fast moving servers kept customers from ever waiting. My seat allowed me to watch a Baseball playoff game while I age. The only thing I would suggest to improve would be to focus less on big corporation beer, and light beer. Put it one or two local micro brewery darker beers for variety. I had a great time. This place was barefoot friendly. read more

Was there at 5:10 pm. We ordered our drinks and waitress Marissa brought them. We went ahead and ordered our dinners as we already knew what we wanted and did not want an appetizer. The waitress never came back. About 30 minutes in an asst. manager came through and I requested a salad and said our waitress never came back. About 5:45 my salad was delivers by another server and 5:55 my meal was thrown on table at my table partner by a different server. We waited till 5:58 pm and I went to speak to that same asst. manager about our waitress and my friends dinner. they said they could not find his ticket. Then they tried to take my dinner as it as cold and said do you want a hot meal. I said no to leave the dinner as it would take another hour to get my hot dinner. We both got our dinners at 6:20 pm delivered by service manager and she said there would not be a ticket. I said I wasn't planning on paying for anything. The whole time our server is serving a table of 7 in the back and never visited our table. We packed up our food and left in 10 minutes. Drinks never asked to be refilled. When we were leaving, there were 5 servers standing near the table of 7 with a saddle. The service by Marissa was NOT ACCEPTABLE. It was HORRIBLE!! Does she still work there? The last time I had Texas Roadhouse was in Bahrain so you can imagine my excitement when I got my meal. Enjelikah was the best waitress I've had in awhile. I remembered her name because it's a different way to spell Angelica. I am moving cross country so I had my dogs with me and had to eat quickly. I don't like leaving my babies in my vehicle any time of day, but I was tired of eating fast food and needed a real meal. I'm not sure what it is about Texas roadhouse that keeps me coming back. No matter what town you're in you can always expect a decent meal. This is the only one in town and we frequent it without fear on the busiest of nights. It must be the honey cinnamon butter with the rolls. I actually do enjoy their prime rib. Note that temperature of your steak is hit or miss but they will always try and make it right if you send it back. Their seasoned rice side dish is kind of amazing. This roadhouse is just like any other roadhouse and you get what you pay for. It can get crazy crowded busy on weekend dinners FYI. They do take out orders as well. My friends all order the rib eye and don't have any complaints. They have early dinner specials. Oh and I also enjoy their beef tips drenched in mashed potatoes and gravy. read more

This review is not for the restaurant itself, but for our server, Lani. After trying to go somewhere else with higher Yelp reviews, we came here because it was right across from our hotel. The food as decent and cooked to order (make sure you look at their cooking specs for steak), but like I said, this review is for a staff member. Lani was great! She was prompt, friendly, and accommodated our orders. Even more so, she saved me from losing my camera. I got a call not 3 minutes after getting into my hotel room and was informed that a server was in the lobby with my camera! I had left my camera on the table, and she walked it over to return it to me! She even waited for me in the lobby, making sure it was delivered to its owner. What a disappointment since my last visit here. My wife and I always looked forward to making the Texas Roadhouse in Amarillo our primary stop on our way from Vail to Dallas. We have done so 3 times a year since 2009. Previous experiences were all very good and at least rated 3 stars. This year we stopped on our way back to Colorado the day after Christmas and were sorely disappointed. First off the restaurant was cold...we mentioned this to our server and he informed us the thermostat was turned as high as "they were allowed" (???? WTH?) and it was cold not just for us but others in the restaurant were eating in their ski parkas???. Steaks were mediocre at best best and for the price ($55.00) I will take my business elsewhere....you could have a better quality meal at Lone Star or K Bobs for that matter....lost customers have the final economic vote. My family and I come here once a year whenever we visit amarillo, and last year we had the worst experience we have ever had here. We all ordered medium rare and when we cut into it, it was well cooked. When we talked to our server about this, she didnt offer to exchange it even though it wasnt what we asked for and was inedible from how tought it was. We asked to speak to a manager, who never came by the way. So this year when we came to visit Amarillo, we questioned if it was worth it after the experience we had last time. This time was so much better! We had Brittany as our server and she was the sweetest waitress you could get. She constantly checked up on us to see how we were doing, asked us if we wanted more of their delicious rolls with honey butter, and never once did our glasses reach the end before she could fill it! I'm glad that my family and I got Brittany today, she definitely made us forget our last experience here. read more
