I'm giving 2 stars because the food and our steak was decent -- once it came out right. The "medium" we asked for finally was right after the 3rd try. Other than that, after 2.5 hours here for a family dinner with kids-- I couldn't run out of this joint fast enough, literally. Like I paid the bill and sped walk out. To start off, there was hair on our plate, to which the staff seems very nonchalant about it. Then, the steak we asked for as a "medium" came out so rare it could have "moo'ed". They took it back, nuked it, and served the same piece that we had cut into 3 pieces when we tried to show them it was rare. Then the SAME 3 pieces came back out as all different temperatures: one was well done, one was medium, and one was still raw. OMG. Needless to say, it didn't look right, and we sent back, AGAIN. We actually got asked if we wanted a new 12 Oz piece of steak, um... YES?? By this time, everyone had finished eating except for my husband. Poor guy Finally, When he got his meat, the fries were missing and they had to get it again. We were so over it by 10 PM trying to get our entrees finished. Then the walk past whatever room it was by the kitchen has this horrible sewerage stench. It made me feel dirty just walking by it. Everywhere, the bathrooms, the floor on dining areas were filthy with trash and debris. The air quality was so bad my oldest child kept coughing due to allergies. It's just not a a good place for any kids with a sensitive respiratory system. We walked in on a Saturday night at 8PM and the wait was 30 minutes. It took another hour before the food came out and by then it was 9:30 PM. We didn't order appetizers so they didn't have to make that first and it still took forever. Interestingly, they have the option to pay your check on your phone but apparently our sever didn't know anything about it. I just wonder how does the people who work there didn't know about the option for mobile pay when it was on the receipt. Anyways, it didn't work when we tried to pay on our phones and had to redo the payment on POS. So end of story is that once is enough. We will not be back to this location. The. Bloomingdale location is better from what I remember and I pray it will not be be this terrible of an experience if we ever go back. read more

I guess it's been a while, because the location moved from North Aurora Road to Route 59. It's still a good meal every time, and makes the whole family happy. The server was very patient with our large group, despite the fact that we didn't turn over the table as quick as we should have. The place is always busy, loud, and full of good country music. Because we were headed home for birthday cake afterward, I ordered one of the smaller steaks this time (8oz NY strip). And I was surprised how small that is. I would not have thought that steak was 8oz, and it was not medium rare. My baked sweet potato was good, but my buttered corn was not really. The corn was salty and not sweet. Our server Erik was THE most amazing server we've ever had, anywhere! I NEED his manager to know. He was incredibly attentive, courteous, and sensitive. He knew of some of our cultural differences and knew what items to point out on the menu offerings (ex. Recommending -bacon on items due to not eating pork without us asking!) He was so kind and well spoken, he took our orders efficiently and read them back, not missing a single detail. We visited Texas Roadhouse for a family lunch on a recent Sunday. I did not choose the place, and I was prepared to be disappointed. Much to my surprise, the food was decent and the service was very good. VIBE: It's a large, boothy place with unobtrusive background music. Very suburban. It was midday, so the light was good. It was a little noisy. SERVICE: Our server (Lexi) was cordial, well-trained, and attentive -- could not have been better. She stopped by often to see how we were doing and to see if we wanted more food or drinks. Food came out at a leisurely pace, which was fine with us; we did not feel rushed FOOD: The menu has a variety of approachable items; everybody is likely to find something appealing. Everyone in my party liked their food. I enjoyed the cactus blossom app (a clever takeoff on onion rings), and a surprisingly good salmon Caesar salad. There was a decent selection of cocktails, a few beers, and a small selection of serviceable wines. This isn't the kind of place I frequent, but for a family gathering it was perfect. New location has a lot more parking spots and is easier to get to. Came during the weekday for dinner and it was pretty busy. Had the cactus blossom that tore apart very easily. It was very crunchy and the dipping sauce had a kick to it. Had the porterhouse T-bone with ceasar salad and the seasoned rice. The ceasar salad was fresh and crisp served in a chilled bowl to keep it cold. The seasoned rice was a bit salty for my taste. It was a Saturday nite and we have been to a couple of these locations so we used the waitlist option which I always recommend. The location outside Louis Joliet Mall is my fave but this one isn't usually bad. This one was not great. Understanding they were packed the waitress took our drink order which was 2 drinks and 2 waters. The drinks came immediately the waters when the food came. We ordered at the same time the food came I had a burger no onion add mushroom and fries. My boyfriend chicken and steak and fries. We had the a small two seater table and she offered to remove nothing we were done with so there was zero room on the table even though I kept stacking on the edge. My boyfriend asked for silver ware and we waited. When she came through approx 45 mins later and not to ask if we wanted refills or more bread but to bring water he asked for silver ware and we asked for bread and napkins. 10 mins later someone else brought the food. He asked for silver ware and was told with an inhale they were running low and he would check. He did end of getting one about 10 Mins later. The waitress came back as I was scrapping my grilled onions off and I said they didn't put my mushrooms on. She said oh and they added onions.. she said I'll be right back and instead of taking the burger and fixing it she brought me A bowl of mushrooms. My boyfriend's chicken made him nauseous so at that point I picked at the burger and overly salted fries, paid and we left.. We went to. The Texas Roadhouse this evening we ordered a steak with onions. There were no onions when it was delivered. By the time I was done with my steak. Prime rib, I was on my first drink. I asked for a second but it took him so long to get it.. I then asked for the manager. The manager came talked with us. I told the manager that I didn't even get a second drink and the manager said. I'll have your server get it what my Server get it the manager should have got it. This place has gone down in the years. There's service as you can tell is bad. A previous time I went there. This place always give me touch and go service. The food is mediocre but the service is what always bothers me. This visit we asked for chili and a burger and extra extra crackers. Been coming to this location for almost 2 decades. In the past when I brought my family for dinner my military discount would be applied to the bill. Now they just apply it to my one single dish. I guess Biden's America is starting to hurt everyone and corporate is cutting back on discounts where they can. A little disappointing. The food is great here and the service is generally good. The Family and I had dinner at TRH in Aurora today. The meal was good as usual. My Bride and I enjoy their salads because they are ALWAYS so cold. Well, all was great, as we were about to leave my Son and me still at the table, one of the bussers came by and was cleaning the table in front of us as those patrons had left when we saw that busser picked food off of the plate of the people that left and are it not once but three times. The bathroom reeked of pee smell. The whole restaurant is empty and they put us there... why? The waiter was great, but the food okay. Still overcooked and missing the tasty goo that used to adorn the old dish. DISAPPOINTED. Wife's filet wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Had the "Rattlesnake Bites", that promised jalapeños. They were bland. Served with a "cajun" sauce that attempted to be remoulade, but didn't quite hit the mark. Seems like another case of corporate weasels thinking because they "cook the books", they can direct the cooks in the kitchen. They can't. Manager came up and asked "how's everything tasting?" in the faux sincerity they are apt to display; and I told her the truth in no uncertain terms. She looked at me like I just spoke the opening to "the Iliad" in perfect Ancient Greek. It apparently "did not compute". I opted not to offer the usual bullshit pleasant talk. My husband and I live near 59 and we absolutely LOVE this place. We go here at least two or three times a month if not more. We've had servers get our food wrong or waited for over an hour for our food before but tonight we had Anna and she did an AMAZING job serving us. She was cracking jokes with us and telling stories. She got all of our food orders correct and was quick to bring the check. We went on Veteran's Day (as my husband has served in the Marine Corps) and he asked for their special which we didn't know ended at 2pm today. Anna still gave us a Military discount. Very packed on a Friday evening, and the service and ambiance was great--very true to the Texas aesthetic. The food came relatively fast, and the bread was hot and buttery. The Ft. Worth steak was very flavorful, but our cut had too much fat on it and made it hard to cut. The cactus blossom came out steaming and the ribs were fall off the bone. The place was very crowded. We ordered drinks and an appetizer right away. The server came back and wanted to know the rest of our order and we gave it to her. Within five minutes, our salads came out before the appetizer. When the server came out again. I asked her to check on the appetizer, she explained that she forgot to put it in. I told her that if the appetizer is going to come at the same time as the entrées not to do it, she assured me that she would take care of this. The food came out together. If that wasn't disappointing enough, my steak came out with about a quarter of it un edible. Just chunks of fat see attached pictures. The loaded baked potato did not come out very loaded. Food is always good but The one thing they need to improve on is clearing plates off of tables. I will pile the dishes up to make a point and they still do not get it. I would think the manager would at least walk around and realize when dirty dishes are on the table. The bussers wait until you are completely done and get up to leave to clear dishes for the next table. the experience to sit there and stare at dirty dishes while eating does not make for a good experience. It has happened every time we go to where Its not even worth the money when you have to try and move things around to eat. The tables are small as it is then having to move salad and bread bowls around and empty drink glasses to eat your main meal is not relaxing. I also have to constantly ask for a refill instead of them noticing as many times as someone including the server walks pass the table. read more

Getting better, considering it is a very busy Restaraunt. Food was really good steaks, mashed, shrimp, corn, bread, and other items. Waiter was good but... forgot an initial beer order from when we first got there 30 min. prior. Had to ask only after waiting a while to flag down our waiter- it came a while after the food was there. Hard for someone tiny to drink a big beer now that food has come but no problem. Young teenage kid delivered one salad with a white dressing cup that came sideways on the very edge of the salad plate and was 3/4 empty dripping in SUPER SLO-MO as he handed it to us(6 of us with our EYES BIG). We had to lean and adjust our sitting position to avoid getting hit by the incoming dressing. That is the point where 999 out of 1,000 wait staff would at least have been like "I'm sorry let me get you some more dressing and a rag to clean that up" but we got the one... that walked away with 6 of us with our jaws dropped. He left a trail from the kitchen to our table of white dressing drips. We flagged another walking by so no one slips and they just left it too. And we had the nicest server, we saw her going way above and beyond for some of her other customers. She was friendly, knew the menu really well and was incredibly patient while remaining smiling and happy. Before going, I had no idea they did early dine specials. Score! Before 3pm on Saturdays or 6pm on Weekdays, you can get 11 different entrees for just $8.99, such a great deal! I ended up having the Chicken Critters dinner which is normally $10.99. The chicken was juicy and plump with a perfectly light breading on the outside and delicious honey mustard for dipping. You can pick any two sides so I went with Buttered Corn and Steak Frites. Both sides were great! And seriously, the portion was so huge it made for three meals for me. I also had their Wild Strawberry Lemonade for $2.99 and loved it! I ordered the early bird 6 ounce sirloin with 2 sides. That steak was closer to 3 ounces and exactly 8 bites. At first I was upset, but a basket of bread was included and a beautiful sweet potato with caramel sauce. I guess that is a good value meal for $9. I ate here once before with my coworkers and it was super fun and great service. I subtracted 1-star because both the silverware and the plates were dirty. Put a timer check up your customers in rotation. My Texas Roadhouse Experience was doomed from the start, as the service was trash before I got there the people didn't even get bread. Scheduled and paid for my order an hour plus ahead of time. When I was on my way to pickup the food I was called and told they were out of the Prime rib I ordered. Not sure why it wasn't put aside when I ordered? I canceled to order. I asked to be refunded and was told it would take 5-7 days. When I called the 800 number listed on my bank account 11 days later they said they would call me back in 15 minutes. Two days later I had to call them again. Got the sirloin steak cooked medium rare and it was horrible. To be exact, it was the worst steak I have had in my entire life. Some truck stops make a better steak. It was Incredibly chewy and even hard to cut with a steak knife. Heck it was hard to even stick with a fork. With every bite you taste how burnt it is. It's still medium rare on the inside but beyond seared on the outside and incredibly dried out. Beyond that, their 8 oz steak is 6 oz after being cooked. Good to know before buying. Horrible location, have been here before and this is the first time I tried it in a couple years and now I won't be going back. In addition, the rolls were completely smashed and stale. I have been wanting to come here like for a very long time. I am glad I did it was well worth it. Thank goodness we made reservations it was the memorial weekend jam packed. The food was very good and so much of it . The prices are very reasonable. I mean who wants to make a mess after work cooking at home? Not me lol. I came here with my familia and granddaughter we had a great time the service was prompt and we got to take food home. I have a huge steak with bone in the only down side it was too charred outside for me and too raw inside. The potatoes are huge and all the sides are ginormous my mom end up taking 2 Hugh sweet potatoes home plus half of her stake. My son order mashed potatoes and rice he took that home too. The only thing I did not like was the bread is sweet and sweet cinnamon butter for starters not my taste of choice. I like a good bread and butter as a started but that's ok I did not eat it.
