I ordered a filet medium-welldone with shrimp and a side of buttered corn and cheese stuffed potatoe. The filet was juicy and tender. The shrimp was too salty, but the side dishes were great. The cheese in the potatoe was really thick and stretchy. When I asked for a bag of peaunuts( which they offer in a pail for free), they gave it to me without any extra charge. The complementary bread they gave us was th e best thing ever. The best thing about this restaurant would be it's service. Ordered a Dallas filet and got a sirloin and was told that it was just a smaller version of a filet. I order only 2 types of steak here, prime rib and the Dallas filet. I think I know my cut of beef. Visited Texas Roadhouse on Fort Bliss 06/04/2016 Was very disappointed as it took 30 minutes to be seated because were put down as a party of 4 instead of 2 and even the Greeter told it it would be 10 minutes. Overall the food was good except I my order was a medium sirloin steak and it came out rare to medium rare and even after the manager took it back to be re-done it still came back medium rare with blood still pouring out and all over the plate. I will say our waiter Darrell was excellent and even kept apologizing for the cooks and for the new guy on salads as he was so far behind. Our salad came after we had already had our steaks. I have visited this particular Roadhouse on several occasions and was very satisfied in the past, just this particular time was not satisfied with the food. read more

I of course was concerned it didn't burn her. I touched it and it was as cold as if I had taking it out the freezer. I called the waiter over and put it on another plate. Told her it wasn't cooked at all. She then stuck her finger in it and said yea it's cold. Like WTF? So they take it back, the manager brings another out. But wait it gets better it's the same piece of meat the waitress stuck her finger in.. At this point I'm really pissed off not hungry at all. I call her back over they take it back and bring another one out. It's not cooked it's purple and cold. Like do you not know how to grill? She then takes it back brings another one to go. Sitting there for a hour and 20 mins with NO food and a waitress who has a stick up her butt because I called her out. After raising my voice the Manager finally took it off my bill and then I asked that's it. We sit here for a hour and 20 mins for you to correct one thing that you couldn't get right 4 times? I wasn't by all means looking for a handout but come on. She then knock off my husbands meal because he refused to eat after this happen. The last visit here we chose to sit on the patio instead of indoors because the wait time was more reasonable (20 minutes patio; 45 minutes indoors). Almost thirty minutes later our buzzer went off. Considering it was a busy weekend night, we were sort of expecting something like that. There is a nice patio area near the restaurant that is a part of Freedom Crossing with wicker chairs, tables, and a fountain so we sat there and 'people watched' while we waited. The service on the patio was okay. Not terrible but not great either. We received our buttery rolls quickly which is always a plus. We ended up ordering an appetizer (onion blossom...or is it cactus blossom?) plus entrees. Our appetizer came out in just under twenty minutes. It was pretty good at first but as you worked your way toward the center, the grease/oil became overwhelming, pooling in the center. It visibly dripped, steadily, off the breading when you picked up a piece so a large portion ended up being uneaten. About half-way through our grease-soaked app, the entrees arrived. Food was so-so. My only complaints on my entree was that my burger was a bit pink; I ordered it well-done. Fries were room temp and tasted a little on the stale side. To be fair, I was so hungry that I would have eaten a cardboard box at that point. I would be willing to dine here again due to positive past experiences but for lunch or a week day dinner, but probably not a busy weekend night. read more

Went here while TDY...was surprised to find that there was a THR on base. It was a normal chain restaurant, but the service was not that great. Tables were dirty, bar area was dirty as well as slow. As always, we had a great experience. I usually get the same roasted chicken and sweet potato. Today I decided to get something different so I ordered the chicken sandwich. I have to say it was the JUICIEST and most well prepared grilled chicken sandwich ever! The chicken actually covered the entire bun and was extremely flavorful! The grilled mushrooms were not your average sliced mushrooms either. They were huge and plentiful. My husband precede a cheeseburger which he said was also excellent. The customer service was great at the bar and the kitchen manager came to introduce himself. He was extremely nice and seemed to sincerely care how the food was to his customers. First we order an app. Kinda surprised after 20 mins we get our salads but no app. An amazingly polite manager comes and asks if alls ok we mention the apps. She's prompt and sees what the issue is. The potato skins weren't up to par. After a combined ones 30 years experience in this industry we know it means kitchen didn't even fire the apps. Know what it happens so were like it's cool. App comes out and .... Hair on the skins ewwwwww. We stop eating . Steaks come out I ordered the three filet medallions at medium hubs ordered the bone in prime at medium rare . Slice in. Mine is medium rare. And rare. Hubs medium we'll worst part was the succulent fat was burned to a crisp. Hubs mashed had Weird hard pits in it as we'll . We honestly stopped eating. Manager came up and ... We'll to help her we showed her the issues. Poor girl. I know how it feels when it's a crap service. We told her .. Look we will pay but to help you the issues are bad and it'll help you to know. She's appreciative and did give us a voucher. This location really takes advantage of having most of it's clientele being Soldiers. We are used to much worse and this location offers terrible service as a result, knowing we usually don't complain. Came with a party of 5. Three salads were served of five ordered on time. The other two came out minutes before the entrees. Speaking of entrees, two steaks arrived first. Mine came about 5 minutes later, over cooked. The other two were MIA, waitress said the tickets were misplaced. She takes my steak back and returns a minute later asking me how I wanted it cooked again. My recooked steak arrives, very rare but hey it's better than overcooked, before the other two in my party received theirs. That's right, two of us finished eating and I sent back and received a new steak BEFORE my two other friends received theirs. On top of this the waitress tells us they are slacking in gift card sales and wants us to buy gift cards and purchase our meals with them. Takes huge balls to ask that. Every other time I've been here the service has been great. Today was a different story. myself and 3 friends went in with a separate group and ordered our food like normal. After 30 minutes of waiting for our order we noticed the other group we arrived with already finish their food. So I ask a manager what the problem with our food was. She came back 5 minutes later and told me "yeah there's no real reason to why your food is so slow, next time ask for a manager" In my book that's not a good enough answer to a customer. Instead I got: I ordered an appetizer, a salad and the 12oz prime rib, everything arrived at once (timing is not their forte), the loaded baked potato was only warm and didn't even melt the cheese, and the sautéed onions were still raw. They only offered another baked potato, really. Wow. I'm so disappointed that I'll never return to Ft Bliss's Texas Roadhouse ever again.
