2021 April. Chili's in Freedom Crossing inside Fort Bliss Main Post. I have visited this location several times this Spring. Like many businesses inside Fort Bliss Im grateful they are available inside post for soldiers. But, Just like many other chain restaurants in the Freedom Crossing area every time I have visited the food was good, but the costumer service is simply no good. Disappointment. Again, their food and drinks are good but orders take forever and if you happen to need more drinks or food yeah your waiter will likely not be there when you need them. Also paying your bills takes a while.

I visited this location during my lunch break today. The place seem to be busy but not too crazy. The service was a bit slow. I dont blame the servers. There were only two servers for the entire restaurant. My server-Juan was pleasant and friendly. I ordered an avocado 6oz sirloin medium rare with a side of asparagus. After a long wait the Manager brought my plate to my table. My sirloin was missing the avocado and pico de gallo that comes on top of it. When I mentioned it. He replied with "Oh shit, that's true" "I'll bring the items on the side". He never did. Neither he apologized for the long wait or the mix-up with my order. My server came to the table and asked if everything came out alright. I told him that my stake was over cooked and that I was missing the topping for the sirloin. He apologized and brought the items immediately. To some this might be a silly thing to complain over, but if you love a good sirloin as much as I do. I believe you understand the disappointment that comes along when your sirloin is overcooked.

First time using this most recent addition to ever-popular Freedom Crossing Shopping Complex on Ft. Bliss. Now, Chili's is one of my favorite chain restaurants, so my expectation was naturally fairly high. As I was contemplating on what to eat for lunch on this holiday, I noticed I received an email earlier in the morning for rewards offering free appetizers. I decided to order online for take out. I was going to use a gift card I acquired earlier this year. With a rewards email (on my phone) and a gift card in my hand, I went to pick up my food. Though I arrived 10 minutes earlier than my pickup time, food was already ready. I was hoping that my hot food wasn't getting cold, and my cold food wasn't getting warm... Transaction was less than ideal to say the least. First, the cashier said she couldn't process my rewards QR code. Well, what she really said was they don't honor rewards at this location. Second, she said she didn't know how to process a gift card which was no more than email print out with QR code. Finally, she went to get a manager after trying something on the cash register, and he guided her how to process them. My hot food definitely got cooler after that. I was so hungry by the time I started to eat, and I really don't remember how it tasted except I kept thinking I could use more pico de gallo for my nachos. I may not come back here though it's a very convenient location relative to where I work and live. However, the restaurant I normally use never gave me any issues. I hope you won't have any issues when you come here like I did today. I wish they would train their employees to provide better customer service like simple processing of coupons and such. Maybe it was her first day on the job. The interior of the restaurant looked very nice and up-to-date since it's a newly opened location after having done some remodeling from the previous tenant. I will highly recommend for everyone to join Chili's rewards club. It's free to join, and they will send you rewards from time to time. Most common one is free chips and salsa with a purchase of adult menu items. I think as long as you eat at Chili's every three months, you can maintain the benefit. Sometimes they will throw in fresh guac or queso for a limited time. I used my free appetizer reward as I mentioned it before. It's worth joining if you eat at Chili's at least occasionally.

Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad was delicious.

Great atmosphere. Very attentive staff. Manager even came out and chatted with us. Margarita of the month was great and came out quick.

Chicken bacon avocado sandwich with frozen fries. The cooks bacon is cold, the cheese is slightly melted but cold, and the avocado is sad.

The food was absolutely amazing -- everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. You could tell a lot of care went into both the menu and presentation. For starters the atmosphere was so cute. Absolutely loved the bar and hanging pots everywhere. Such a clean restaurant and cute vibe. Our waitress was very nice and friendly to us. So no issues there! For drinks I got their berry lemonade which tasted just like lemon juice. I had to request for sugar to be added since it was so sour so beware. My food had came out and to be honest I'm just a little bit disappointed. The rigatoni was cooked but the sauce for it was really not tasty? Like there was almost not a flavor I can taste. Of course there was something but it was very plain and barely even there. It also was not spicy whatsoever. I added grilled chicken too and oh boy was that dry dry DRY. The burrata personally I'm not a fan in general so of course I wouldn't be a fan this time either but they gave a nice little plate full of it. They added some oiled toasted bread and it was way too crispy in my opinion. My partner got the chicken Parmesan and his dish tasted great! Very juicy chicken and cooked all the way. The sauce was perfect too nice and flavorful and great pairing with the chicken. His butter noodles were just like regular butter noodles so not bad. Finally the crème brûlée. Probably the most disappointing dish we ordered. It took repeated stabs to break the sugar glaze on top. Me and my partner were honestly thinking that they added the cream on top to hide how burnt it was actually. Unfortunately because the glaze was so thick and burnt it made the rest of the cream taste have the burnt flavor. It was sad because my partner was looking forward to this desert. Also took wayyy longer to arrive than our entrées. I will say that the waitress was very helpful and she actually covered the crème Brulé. I didn't even ask she just offered, I think she could tell that we didn't enjoy it and I had nicely told her it wasn't what we were expecting so thank you sincerely. Overall I think this is a perfect spot to maybe try drinks and hang with friends. Food was okay, wouldn't try it again in that regard but overall a decent spot here in El Paso if you're looking for something new. Maybe best to ask what's their best dish to serve. Overall thank you.

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

I ordered the "I got your Six" cheese curds which comes with marinara sauce. They were tasty however they weren't hot which was a bummer. For a main course I order the corned beef hash which comes with a mound of potatoes, sliced corned beef and two eggs; I asked for the eggs to be over medium. The food was pipping hot and serve on a cast iron plate. Unfortunately my eggs were over cooked so I didn't get to enjoy the warm yolk pour over the potatoes. One could even claim it's as epic as Robert Downey Jr. making his comeback as Tony Stark...but perhaps that's a bit hyperbolic of me to say. I mean, it's just A-OK for now. And that's only based on the one dish I had a chance to try so far. Let's review. The decor and interior have both been modernized to an updated, contemporary feel. I still recall the previous interior setup, which featured more tables and less bar. It was not impressive AT ALL. Now? The bar takes up half the restaurant, but this look actually works, considering the Irish Pub is a bar first and a kitchen second. This much is made obvious once you take a look at their menu. Yes, it's small. But that only means it's easier to execute, right? Weeelll...'bout that.. Now, I admit I'm a harsh judge of character when it comes to fish n' chips. I'm a damn Yankee after all. The Irish rendition was....actually pretty okay. It didn't blow me away...especially when half the batter came off of one piece of fish in particular, only to reveal the fish itself didn't even fill half the batter (what even IS this sorcery?). But the flavor was fine and at least the batter didn't overwhelm said fish to the point of resembling the texture of a breaded condom. But, I digress. Here's the bottom line. It's fine for what it is and where it's coming from. I'd give the fish a 6 out of 10, as some pieces tasted a bit more rubbery than others. I do love the presentation of the dish, plus the way they do their fries. Well....they're basically chips. In fry form. As in...you have steak fries that are flatter than the plate and about the thickness of kettle cooked chips. I'd honestly never seen anything like it before and they weren't half bad. This version of fish n' chips also came with a Chipotle Aioli. Up until now, I had no idea what the hell that was. All I know is it tastes good as f*ck on the fries and yes...even the fish (though this New Englander still prefers tartar sauce). Now, of course, they use cod for the fish. Not my particular favorite, as this is a rather cheap fish, actually. But I understand why they chose it; so, this isn't a deal breaker for me. You have to wonder if the waitresses here like wearing the uniforms this place gives them. I didn't take any pictures out of modesty for the ladies, but uhm....let me put it this way: it's like the Irish tailored edition of Hooter's uniforms. With skirts. It's just a good thing all the ladies were clearly taught never to bend over too far. Or else they'd inexorably be revealing what color undies they were wearing. Anyways, moving on.. Not a bad place to revisit post makeover if you're in town for lunch. This is only an initial review for me, as there are at least two other items I'd like to try before maybe updating this rating. For now, I'm gonna give the newly revitalized Happy's Irish Pub 3 crispy beer battered cod pieces stacked over steak chips with Chipotle sauce out of 5.
