We started with fried pickles. They were really good. I also had a long island ice team. It was $5 deal. I enjoyed it. The bread was also fresh and hot. For my entree I had the Sirloin & Grilled Shrimp combo. It's lean, juicy and a really nice portion. The shrimp were large and seasoned, grilled, drizzled with garlic lemon pepper butter. I have been here twice now. The first trip I had a Ribeye, salad and baked potato my husband had the Chicken Fried steak. We were impressed! Great service and delicious food! But within an hour or so of eating there I started having stomach pains off and on for 2 days. I decided to give them another try cause it tasted so good. The second visit was not great. Got there half an hour after they opened and got the prime rib this time. It was just ok. And the sweet potato I ordered was only hot on the bottom. The brown sugar wouldn't melt. The salad was on the verge of being not good to eat. Some of it was looking pink like old lettuce. My husband had chili as a side and it was lukewarm as well, the cheese wouldn't melt and it was cold a few bites in. The employees were great both times. I think we will pass on future visits. My husband and I went for our 28th anniversary. The food was excellent. My 8oz sirloin was cooked perfectly and my husbands was rare. Our server Sabrina was great too. We didn't need anything cause she made sure we had everything we need plus more. We got the combo appetizer with fried pickles, tater skins, and rattlesnake bites. All of it was hot and served with plenty of dipping sauce and sour cream. The restaurant was full but we walked in and was shown immediately to our booth. To the servers credit, she was professional and quick. I have nothing wrong with the staff outside the kitchen. However, the food was absolutely atrocious. The steak was dry and when I cut in, it looked initially good because yes, they did it rare in the middle, but they had the heat so high on the grill that it dried out the steak and made the edges so charred burnt and dry it was in edible. Whatsoever and very hard and dry. Not to mention there were huge bits of potato skin all through the mashed potatoes. I don't know what special education school the kitchen staff graduated from, but they can't cook a steak or bake potatoes to save their lives. I won't ever be eating here again. read more

Last 3 times that my wife and I have dined here, our steaks have come out either completely raw or burnt to a crisp. The last time we both got extremely sick, just moments after leaving. Onion bloom is always raw and inedible. Drinks taste watered down. Management is inept and allow servers to essentially hang out all night and neglect their tables. They can't seem to figure out cleaning tables off as they will have a line out the door with the restaurant full of dirty, empty tables. Terrible ribeye steak. Tough and grisly and really was probably the poorest steak I've had there

The first time I came here they told me the wait was 55m- 1hr 5mins. No problem with me. 1hr 45mins later I go check and I point out some open booth to the girl at the counter and she said that section was closed. I can customers sitting all around the area. They finally had a booth for us and our waitress comes and tell us she'll bring us bread. As I watch customers being seated after us being served bread. Our waitress comes back saying they ran out of bread, that she'd bring some when they have more. Ok, no problem. About 10mins I see customers being seated and served bread. So I stopped our waitress and ask for some bread. She said she'd go check then I see her go and take order on other tables and serve them and then bring bread to a table close to us. After 20 mins we finally got served bread. The food was great and the rest of the night went well. The whipped butter that came with the complimentary bread was delicious so we decided to give it another try. We were served bread as we got seated. We tried ordering the prime rib, and rack of ribs, both sold out. Luckily the next entrees we ordered were available. Some time had passed so we asked for more bread. I'm sitting close to where the kitchen is and I can see racks of bread sitting. I waited about 15min and ask for bread. She said they were out and I pointed to the rack in the kitchen. She then came back with bread. After some time we ate all our bread and I ask for more. She again told us they were out and that it was almost closing so they didn't want to "throw them away." We finished our food, paid our bill and as we were walking out I looked into the open kitchen and can see bread that's already baked sitting in the baking pan. Come on, it's just bread! Why you gotta be so over protective and stingy over bread. It's not even out of her pocket. These restaurants chain put out a $1 worth of bread and get back $70+ and waiters like this ruins it for them. It's not even about the bread, but the shitty customer service. We waited for nearly an hour to get our table, with several sitting open all over the restaurant. We went to this location on Sunday, March 10, 2024 (two people). Server was Kelsey. She came to the table pretty promptly and took out drink orders, and we proceeded to decide our orders. First side dish came out (Caesar salad) and not too long after that everything else came out. Food was decent though nothing to write home about. We ate, chatted, and drank our drinks, and that's when the trouble started. Our waitress brought a printed bill when we were only half done and put it on the table. Huh? The bill normally shows up on the kiosks that are present on every table and you pay when you're ready. We got the impression she wanted us to get out so she could be done with us. Upon asking her if the restaurant told her to do that, she said that no, she just printed it and brought it out and it was her bad (her words). Since the bill was presented on the kiosk why even bother with a printed one? We spoke to the service manager, whose name I didn't catch, before we left. He said that some "older people" like to get a printed bill. We're middle aged, not exactly toddling around on walkers. Did he think we're too befuddled to figure out an electronic bill? Because we've been to this location before and this was the first time we got the check any way other than on the kiosk. Anyway, they can save time and aggravation next time and simply tell us to GTFO because they can't be bothered. The last time I visited a Roadhouse was in Wisconsin about a year ago and I was really displeased with the steak, so I wasn't expecting too much from this one. We all three ordered the Ribeye steaks (10oz and 12oz). I ordered medium rare and the others were medium and well done. We also ordered a side of the onion thingy (blooming onion, something onion) like Outback and Chili's have. The waitress said they were out of the special sauce for it when she brought it to the table and gave us Ranch Dressing instead. It was very good. Hard to stop eating. But it would've been better with their dressing. Steaks came and they were all done perfectly. Very flavorful and weren't real thin steaks like the one I had in Wisconsin. Seasoned well and very tender. I had asked the waiter if he could have it done Pittsburgh style and was surprised that he knew what it was. He did tell me that if I wanted it Pittsburgh style it may come out a little more done than the medium rare. I sort of figured that, since most times a restaurant will overcook it trying to get the char on the outside. Rather than try it I said I'd take it just regular style, medium rare. Glad I did. This is such a fun place. Very relaxed. Buckets of peanuts around for munching. Great bar--flat screens around, with sports on. The bartender was terrific. The rolls are addictive. The dinner salad was fresh and delicious. The blue cheese dressing was very good. It was served on a chilled plate. The salmon was good (and like another reviewer said, a little salty). FINALLY at 730, we Advised them that we are done waiting... they tell us oh no we can seat you now, after at LEAST 15 tables were seated before us.. As we were walking in to be seated, we see a room FULL of employees, (without masks) Goofing off and literally playing on the floor.. We decided to stick it out. When visiting my family for the holidays, we decided to go out for a nice steak dinner. Instead of going to the familiar favorite Outback, we opted for something new and ended up at the Texas Roadhouse, conveniently located next to Cracker Barrel in Cape Girardeau and within a stone's throw of Highway 55. When we walked in, we saw some people waiting to be seated, which immediately gave us pause for concern since we were hungry and didn't feel like waiting for a half hour to get a table. We were told the wait would be about 15 minutes, but ended up being less than 10, which suited us just fine. While we waited we ate some peanuts, which were provided in miniature galvanized pails. We were also treated to country music playing over the speakers, which added a certain "down-home" ambiance that my parents seemed to like, though I would have been just as happy with silence. The menu here is definitely arranged around a certain laid-back, casual type of clientele, offering items like a "roadkill' burger and an assortment of fried appetizers. They also offer hot rolls with a honey/butter mixture, which was a nice touch and a bit more satisfying than simple slices of bread. The salad we had was satisfactory, though the caesar salad really looked quite plain and boring and only had a couple of croutons. Still, it tasted good and gave us something to munch on while waiting for our main course. The beer selection here is plentiful, though if you're looking for an imported lager or ale you'll be sorely disappointed. They have several flavors of Bud, Miller, and Michelob as well as Sam Adams, which I decided to try. It came in a big ol' tall mug, which prompted no argument from me and gave me something with which to wash down my buttered rolls. There appeared to be a small bar, though I couldn't tell if they offered cocktails as well as beer. I ordered the prime rib, which was a 12-oz cut, medium rare. The steak was very tender, though a tad heavy on the seasoning. I really do like to taste my meat, but feel as though this one had been slightly manipulated a bit. It was good - but different from a more 'naked' presentation you'll find at Outback and other steakhouses. The only minor complaint I have is that the amount of horseradish and dressing I received was insufficient for the amount of food I had to pair it with. They use little plastic cups but for some reason they were only partially filled, which left me scraping the bottom and wanting a bit more. I suppose they could be trying to cut costs, but really - how hard is it to fill up a cup to the top with dressing or horseradish? This minor quibble aside, this was an overall good experience. I still am not sure if I would go here instead of the Outback, but it's close enough in quality and price that I would definitely consider it. Bottom line: If you like country music, steak, and big beers the Texas Roadhouse could be right up your alley. read more

the worse dining experience of my life. My wife and I are both disabled and struggle walking. so after being told it would be 1-1/2 hr wait we sat in the garden area to wait our turn, decided to get drinks from the bar. I walked up there to keep her from having to do so. I was told by a very rude woman tending bar, that I was not allowed to have more than one drink at a time even though I was serving both of us. I was informed I had to bring my wife up to the bar to prove she existed before I would have permission to purchase a beer for myself.
