The worst steak I ever had. Y'all went up on price and down in quality! I will not be going back!

Usually this location is pretty good, and we have no complaints with our server. However, we arrived today-- at the height of dinner service around 7:30--to be told at the outset that they were out of lemonade, Coke, and a variety of other things, so many so that our server had a list to give us when she arrived at our table. We asked for a bag of peanuts and found out that they were out of those. Asked for the bread that normally comes with the meal, and found out that it was out, too; apparently, they had run out of yeast. Our food was ordered and came out basically as we asked, except our salads came out before our appetizer did. Additionally, my dad's sweet potato was lukewarm at best so that the butter never melted. While eating, I heard another server apologize to a neighboring table that the kitchen only had one full rack of ribs left. It makes one wonder why they were still operating with so many things missing from their menu this evening, and, predictably, no manager came around to check on the tables like usual. If this were my first visit to a Texas Roadhouse, I would be upset and would have a horrible impression of the restaurant. Hopefully this is a one-time occurrence and they can get their act together at this location soon. read more

The Texas Roadhouse in Covington had been a family favorite since they originally opened many year ago, but the current operators of this location are going to destroy the reputation of this with their poor understanding of what the food is supposed to look like and taste like. My wife and I went to this location on March 6 around 5pm and were quickly seated,. The very attentive server, who just started working there a short time ago, took our orders, so far so good. One favorite is the pulled pork platter, which has a picture on the menu of shredded, "pulled " pork cooked in barbecue sauce. When the food arrived at our table, it was lumps of fatty gristly pork with absolutely no barbecue sauce. When we mentioned it to our server she went to the kitchen and was told that the pulled pork sandwich was prepared with barbecue sauce. If that were true then why did the menu show it cooked in sauce as it has been the other dozens of times my wife ordered it. Maybe they should look at the menu photo as an instructional one and try to make it resemble that. There was no offer to prepare it properly or to credit our bill and offer to prepare something else. I suggest that Texas Roadhouse either train them in proper food preparation or replace the entire kitchen staff. Don't waste your money there unless this happens! read more

I've never been so disrespected in my life. I knew something was off when I approached the door with my girlfriend that the hostesses were nodding their head. I then entered and they proceeded by telling me they dont have anything available, only the bar. Half the restaurant was open mind you. They just did not want to seat us because they were closing soon. The manager came up and they were both together on not letting us eat there because they were closing soon. Very unprofessional. 7/27/18 7pm I stopped at Texas Roadhouse off I-12 on my way to Texas. I am Expedite drive who drives freight all across the country. The restaurant was slammed busy but I always eat at the bar anyway. Libby was on point and there was a pretty blonde too(I don't remember her name but she was a sweetheart. I had the 10oz Ribeye medium. The chef could not have made the steak any more Perfect! I have been to several locations and all were excellent but this location was more than exemplary! I love Texas Roadhouse because of the butter for the rolls have a special kick and the steak always taste fresh cut. The bartenders always get to know your name and make it a personal experience. Libby was on her game and is management material if ever I met someone who is perfect at her job. 1 of the managers Shelby comes and greets every sitting at the bar and has a great spirit about her. I will stop at this location every time I come to Texas from now on! I can't say enough great things about this I-12 location. I have been to Virginia,Massachusetts,Laredo and this is the best restaurant in the Country so far! 2-2-2022 I wanted to Thank and give a huge shout out to Lorna the manager . Texas Roadhouse, Covington, LA . We waited over 1 hour for our food due to a lost ticket . It was a slow night in the restaurant on a Tuesday. The waitress was nice but she should have recognized the time frame when others after us came in and was served before us . After over 1 hour wait, I went up to speak to a manager . Lorna the manger came at the same time and responded efficiently , professionally and accurately to the situation . We will be back to visit the Texas Roadhouse not only for the good food in Covington , LA but due to the exceptional customer service that Lorna the manager handled . We ordered a appetizer & then ordered our food a few minutes after. We got our appetizer & within 2 minutes after our meal came. We couldn't even enjoy our hot appetizer when all the other food is put in front of us. I understand if people have to go back to work. This was not the case. If you have to get out quickly don't buy an appetizer. We felt so rushed. The manager spoke with us & we told her that we felt rushed. She apologized & clearly just really didn't care. Food was delicious however the wait to get served took forever. Our waitress tried however she was not able to keep up. We arrived at 12:30 and we didn't get our food until almost 2pm. Needless to say we have a ton of to go boxes. We waited almost 30 min to get drinks. Being so hungry, we ate the bread and appetizer and so much time passed that we were no longer hungry for the entree we ordered. We have a bunch of togo boxes. This place is always buzzin but now we understand why! Service was excellent! We were served on hand and foot! Never had time to want for anything. Great place to watch the games with all the tvs around! The 11oz sirloin was juicy and delicious and the grilled salmon was cooked to perfection!! Both meals came w 2 side dishes which gave us a salad before our meal and veggies. This place made for a nice night out for the two of us and it also serves well for families with good prices. All of these things contributed to it rating a five star for casual dining. read more

WORST STEAK WE EVER ATE!! My 14-ounce ribeye was like a piece of leather and so was the person's filet that sat next to me. NEVER AGAIN! :( NOT worth the wait, and almost $100.00 we left there. The service was just awful. They told us they were short on help after we sat down and had waited all that time. They told us they were only half staffed. Our potatoes were cold and it was just a mess for us. Never going back to this place. We use to love this place but since COVID-19 it is NOT the same. omg where do I begin we had a beautiful day in Covington and for us to have to end our day on a bad note like that at this place was awful to say the least.First of all we sat at a dirty table you could still see the stains of food from the last people and the water from their glasses like wtf. Why can I not find a decent place like this that does not feature country music 24/7. It really makes me loose my appetite. But for real for the price you can't get a better steak. I knew better. I really did. My experience at Texas Roadhouse was awful. I should've known better and I learned my lesson. Chain Steakhouses have grown by leaps and bounds since Outback first came to the area many years ago. There must be four different restaurants with roadhouse in their name around the country, but this version is proud to be Texas. That means a western theme throughout the restaurant which I actually liked. Everything else pretty much ensured I will think carefully before every returning. I visited this location with my kids after watching a movie across the interstate. It was late, we hadn't eaten since breakfast and I knew I had a limited window before their inner demons came out. This restaurant was close and I figured they would have something for all of us. The restaurant seemed very dirty when we walked in. I'm not sure if it was the shells on the floor, but I'm sure that contributed to it. I remember loving throwing shells on the floor as a kid so maybe I'm just an old fuddy duddy now. The staff seemed very uninterested that we had arrived, but we were seated fairly quickly. The unclean vibe surrounded us once we were seated because there were at least four dirty tables filled with dishes around us. They slowly began cleaning up after we had been seated a bit, but it was off putting. Our server was reasonably friendly, but like the hosts, seemed uninterested in helping us. Everything was forced and done as if it were a chore. For food, I ordered a t-bone and the kids got chicken tenders. My steak was over cooked, bland and tough. I guess I could have sent it back, but at that point I wanted food and wanted to go. My kids said the chicken tenders were equally awful which surprised me. It's almost impossible to mess up chicken tenders. We got some to-go containers, paid the bill and rolled out. The entire experience was pretty horrible. This is a great steakhouse! Steaks are tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Hats off to Jeremy, who was our chef tonight. The fried catfish was tender, flaky, and absolutely delicious too! Not to mention those famous hot honey-cinnamon buttered rolls. Our waiter, Harry, was fantastic!!! He kept our drinks filled, and checked on us often to make sure all of our needs were met. Harry was friendly, and had a great sense of humor. We had so much fun, while enjoying our meal, and Harry made our "Sister's Day" celebration a memorable one. He even took a photo with us! We will definitely go to this Texas Roadhouse again, and recommend it to everyone! read more

Took over an hour for our steaks to come out, manager even asked us how we were doing and we told her that we were waiting for an hour for our food, she didn't even do anything about it or to help, just walked away. I ended up having to take my food to go as soon as it came out because I was going to be late for a meeting. Didn't expect over an hour just for my steak to come out and then once I got to eat my steak later that night it seemed like it wasn't even a good cut of meat. That was the second time that I've had to wait a long time for my food. The Texas Roadhouse in Slidell is 1000x better. I realize that we are in a pandemic. However, this restaurant is not following the rules, but is using that as an excuse. Called ahead for a table for 4 adults and 3 children. Got to the restaurant and we were told to go in by an employee outside. When we got in, we were told it would be 10-20 minutes, go sit in the car. (The temps were in the 90s.) We called ahead. When we were seated 15 minutes later, we were seated right behind another couple. Then a couple was seated on our other side. Yet the rest of the restaurant had mostly empty tables. Why the wait? Where is the 6 foot social distance space? Food was good. Service was mediocre. read more

Upon arriving we were seated immediately only to have a waitress who showed her face twice the whole hour and thirty minutes we were waiting for food. It wasn't the kitchen that was the issue, it was our server as other tables next to us were getting their meals fast. First time at this location and everything was great, even at 7pm. They had a good sized crowd but we were seated right away. Our waitress was there promptly for our drink orders. We had several beers each with our meal and never waited with an empty bottle on the table. The food was visually appealing, which to me is as important as taste. It was more then I could eat. Here in Covington for a basketball tournament. My wife and I wanted poboys and gumbo but ended up going in Texas Roadhouse. Sad part we have a Texan roadhouse in our hometown but never been. The food and service heee was A+. My wife ordered the portobello mushroom chicken with broccoli and a loaded potato, I ordered the herb crusted chicken with corn and steak fries. We were their today for my nephews birthday. It was 11 of us. We did need two tables so it took longer but everything took forever the bread, drinks, refills salads and food. Normally feel like I have a loser emblem on my forehead at most restaurants. Not here. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. From the front staff to the waitress and the manager. We were seated quickly and drink orders arrived right away. The manager Joe came over and told us about restaurant menu and history and orders put in. Steak and sides were perfect. Ordered an Abita draft after several minutes waitress comes back and says pump or whatever is not working on Abita been out for 2 weeks, so Coors light draft was fine. I'm thinking 2 weeks get it fixed... Then wife and I ordered a porterhouse steak with extra salad for we were going to split the steak (20 + ounces) and steak fries as a side that comes with the steak. Got the salads they are good. I am not a fan of the state of Texas. Apparently, neither is Texas Roadhouse. Their corporate offices are based in Louisville, KY. Anyway, I am a fan of the restaurant. They start you off with all you care to eat peanuts and dinner rolls with a killer cinnamon butter. I have dined here about three times since their opening. Always great service. This place gets packed, especially on the weekends. If you go during their peak time, expect to wait up to one hour for seating. Well worth it though. On my last visit, I had the oven roasted chicken. It was fall off the bone tender and juicy. You get two sides with most entrees. I chose the mashed potatoes and green beans. Both were delicious. Another in my party ordered the chicken fried steak which was devoured is quick order. For an appetizer, I would suggest the Rattlesnake Bites and the Fried Pickles. They serve their version of the blooming onion, called the Cactus Blossom. Also a good choice. read more

Should have walked out when the seating staff told a nice older lady in a wheelchair who was repeatedly passed up for a table and finally complained about a 45 minute wait "well they were in a booth and you need a table." Rudest thing I've seen in a restaurant in a long time. And I routinely eat out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Waited forever to even get a drink order in and then sent my filet back twice. After the second steak I told them I'll head somewhere else. Management seems to not care at all as this is the third visit in a row to this Texas Roadhouse where I have sent back a filet twice and cancelled my order. I used to love the Roadhouse, but they have just become "ok". We had the ribs special last nite - dry, dry, dry. The poor waitress had to talk about 5 minutes about specials and GIFT CARDS - really? Why make diners have to be interrupted in their evening to listen to all the promotional items. This is why I generally stay away from chains because it's never about the food and diners enjoyment it's about their bottom line. The peanuts were good though! read more
