Not bad, our server was new, fast and very polite. My wifes steak was a little over cooked but we did not have the heart to ask for a new steak. The drinks were good though. Try the Peach Tea Vodka, it hits the spot. The price was pretty good too since we were able to take advantage of the early dinner special. Our waiter had a terrible attitude problem. It was a busy night, but I would expect no less from a Texas Roadhouse. The plates on our table had burnt cheese on them. They were quickly replaced with what can only be described as "coffee stained" plates. We never received rolls, and when we brought it to our waiter's attention, he responded with such hateful spiteful attitude we were appalled. My drink tasted like it was half salt water... We love this place. We drove past soooo many times writing it off as another chain restaurant. Big mistake! We still prefer Longhorns for steak but everything else here is wonderful! I could eat the cinnamon butter alone and be happy. Our wait is never long, servers are always very energetic, enthusiastic, and courteous. I do often feel sorry for them having to wear "I love my job" shirts. I have worked in this industry before and I highly doubt that is true, but they would never let on that they thought any different. My first time I think I've ever been to a Texas Roadhouse... We were impressed with everything. When they found out I'd never been here they brought out a sample of the green beans and a card for a free app next tune we come in.... my rob eye as his sirloin were cooked exactly the temp we ordered and the flavor was great on both. If I could give zero stars I would. Arrived at 8:30 with a rather large group. We were told 20 minutes, well 45 minutes later they were saying only another 15 minutes. We were seated one hour after arrival and it is currently 10:20 and we have not seen any entrees. Worse part is there were empty tables (closed sections) in several areas and we were not allowed to sit and be served in those areas. Do NOT go to Texas Roundhouse in Covington. I called to be put on the waitlist to come in at 4pm. They told me the next available dine-in time was 5pm. My family and I got to the restaurant at 4:50 and they told us that we have to wait another hour. We sat down for a little bit to see if things would speed up and we could be seated in the next few minutes. While we were waiting, there were two waiters standing at the podium talking and on their phone when they could've been cleaning the tables. Another family of 8 walked in, asked to be seated and were seated immediately. My family and I looked around the restaurant and saw four clean tables that could fit a family of 8. They told us they knew we called to come in at 4 but still couldn't get us a table until 6. We ended up waiting an hour and a half when we started calling another restaurant. That restaurant said that we could go in and have us seated in 15 minutes. We're NEVER going back again!!!! read more

The rolls were very good. The server said the mashed potatoes were real. They may have been partially real, but mixed with instant or something. They were terrible; husband couldn't eat them. The lettuce in the salad has obviously been out for a while; mostly brown and white. I had the sirloin and it was fair, after sending it back to cook a little longer. Our server barely made it to the table. He sort of leaned our direction and then hurried off. He didn't stay long enough to ask if we needed anything. I don't think he wanted to be there. He's a tall heavyset guy who walks around eyeballing the attractive waitresses and lady patrons in the building. This place has a management problem with to go orders. It's never ready at the time set for pick up. I have had to wait 3 times in a row even though I showed up at my pick up time. You are left standing in the middle of a busy corridor. I couldn't continue to wait on my last visit, so they disabled my Texas Roadhouse app. I have been a loyal customer for years, but the Covington, LA location can't get things right. So I've always been a big fan of Texas Roadhouse. Great drinks selection, I've always liked the food and a great place to bring kids because it's nosy so my kids won't be disturbing everyone around us. However, me, my two kids and my mother in law went on Wednesday and I was not impressed. I always get the country fried steak with white gravy and potatoes with white gravy. My steak this time was very chewy and the coating was just falling off. The gravy was good so I ate most of it but it just wasn't as good as it has been. The waiter was ok. I knew he was busy so I didn't give him a bad tip but we were done with our meal and it took him 15 minutes to finally come back and say "oh did you want your check?" If I didn't have my kids screaming and ready to go I wouldn't have been upset at all but my kids were ready to go. I can't bring myself to give them less than 3 stars big fan of Texas Roadhouse. Food is ok but holy smokes is this place dirty. There was trash all over the floors and a number of dirty tables. There were servers just standing around and sitting at tables. My Dad, sister and I were in a mood for a steak so Texas Roadhouse is where we landed. We stopped going there in the past due to poor customer service. Other patrons would be greeted upon entry and the waitresses would look elsewhere when it was our time to be seated. However this time, four of them greeted us so I was optimistic that this trip would be different. So much for optimism...The first thing, the hostess did not bring a basket of rolls to the table (I mean who don't like the rolls, they're delicious). Second, we were sat all the way in the back when we bypassed several that were available. The hostess quickly placed the saucers and utensils on the table with a your server will be right with you. Underneath the table was food and shells, but when I looked at tables surrounding us, they seemed to be swept under. Third, 10 plus minutes later, five waitresses bypassed our table without so much of a hello (no, bread, no drinks, no service). Finally, Kate (the sixth waitress) stopped and asked if anyone grabbed our order, we informed her no and she jumped on the ball. We weren't even in her section and she took care of us without breaking a sweat. Later my dad told me she stopped by the waiter (his name starts with an R) and informed him that we were not serviced. Do you think this waiter came and apologize for his absence? I am here to tell you he did not, in fact another lady was sat in the same section and he appeared within 30 seconds. He visited her table over 8 times during her meal. He was so attentive, I thought he was going to wipe the corners of her mouth each time he appeared (I know your like seriously chick, you were counting? Yes, I was. Remember kiddies, you never know who is watching). Anyway, enough about the waiter that shouldn't be name (again it starts with an R). GREAT FOOD, VALUE, AND SERVICE. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, but I love this place! I also never order steaks at a chain restaurant. However, the quality is that of a locally owned place that takes pride in all aspects. You can't go wrong with the value and consistency. One out of 15 times did I have a bad experience and the manager made it right. Can not beat the kids menu resulting in a fantastic family eatery. The prime rib is lean, tender, and just perfect! Roadhouse is almost always a 'known quantity', but this trip was better than expected. Very clean and well staffed (we were seated at 1630). Our server, Dillon, was very attentive and right on top of things. Three ribeyes and portabella chicken were ordered. The steaks were exactly to order and the chicken was awesome as well. My husband and I enjoyed our visit at the Slidell Location. I realize its hard to get the same fantastic service each time you go unless you request the same waiter. I ordered the prime rib its was juicy and flavorful, my husband had the ribs they were not dry had the right amount of BBQ.
