It was pouring rain and we could barely see the road in front of us, thankfully the rain let up enough for us to see Texas Roadhouse lit up from the street. We had a coupon for a free appetizer (we ordered the potato skins) that was about to expire so we decided to give this location a try. We have been to the one in Bloomingdale, but haven't been here. While we were in the car we used the waitlist option and the app said that there was a 20 minute wait. Once we got inside there was actually only a 5 minute wait. The restaurant is huge and literally every table was full but because the restaurant is so huge there is always a party on the way out so the flow of traffic was nice and steady. I ordered the herb chicken breast, the waitress asked if I wanted it smothered in mushrooms and grilled onions and of course I said yes. She did not mention that it was an up-charge... I should have asked however the amount added to my plate was well worth the $2.99 up-charge. I picked the house salad and veggies because I knew my carbs were going to be coming from the two delicious rolls and butter I was planning on eating while waiting for my order to be cooked. My husband ordered a 9oz steak with a house salad and corn and wanted it cooked medium rare... it came out really rare. It was delicious but way too chewy and hard to eat. He was disappointed but did not want to send it back because he was hungry and ready to dig in. The atmosphere is fun, there were at least three tables nearby that were celebrating birthdays. They sing a song and it is really uplifting and fun to hear! If you're looking for a restaurant with great food to celebrate a birthday or other important day... or even if you're not celebrating anything special, come out and give this restaurant a try! I cannot believe it took us so long to give this place a try! Visited on a Thursday night with two friends. We only had to wait for a few minutes before we had a table. I ordered a BBQ Chicken Sandwich with mashed potatoes as my side. My friends both ordered the Prime Rib. Our food was good and enough for more than one meal. The restaurant is usually loud but there are TV's with sports, which is always a plus for me. I only walked into this place for the first time a week ago to scope things out, look at the menu, find out the good deals, stuff like that. It was a Saturday night and the wait was over an hour, so we went someplace else; but not before we formulated a real good plan. Texas Roadhouse doesn't have a "Happy Hour" per say, but it does have some $5 cocktail specials, plus a whole page of earlier-bird specials available from 3PM to 5PM, offering all of the the restaurants' most popular dinners, like steaks and chops, and all at about 2/3 the price of the same meals after 5PM. Also, the menu displayed a number for us to text that credited us with a free appetizer on our next visit. So we set everything up to return there today, free appetizer and all. After a tasty five dollar Long Island Iced Tea we dove into our 'blooming deep fried onion which came with a nice dipping sauce. As our mains my companion had the roasted Tuscan chicken and I had a thick grilled pork chop cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was juicy and delicious. We each got two sides with our meals, so my friend had buttered corn and mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and I had a baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar, and a cup of Texas red meat and bean chili. With the appetizer and the bottomless basket of fresh baked dinner rolls with cinnamon butter there was more than enough to stuff ourselves on and still go home with leftovers. TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE oh where to start... let me start off by saying this was a weekday night and they were not busy by the least bit. we did not see a server for almost 10 mins and didn't have any water til almost 15 mins after. we did not get our food for 25 mins which is not bad, but still. our server was not attentive and we didn't even get asked for a refill. she asked us only once how everything was. the bread was stale, i ordered the bbq "pulled" pork sandwich. the meat in the sandwich was not even shredded just giant pieces of meat and a bunch of fat. the steak fries tasted like they were reheated for the second time. i only ended up eating my fries and i had my boyfriend hide the sandwich especially all the fat. it made me sick to my stomach. we were supposed to catch a movie so that's why i didn't ask for something else, but my boyfriend even said the steak was not great. i bet the food at the movie theatre would've been better than this and cheaper. did i give a good tip? absolutely not, start learning to be a more attentive servers thanks. will never be coming back here! ps. wish i got a picture of the sandwich but i didn't think i would be writing my first Yelp review ever either. read more

So let me start by saying I've been coming here with my wife and family for years. And up to three times a week. We even request regular servers and made friends with many of the manager there. Shout out to a few good people there. Elizabeth is the best server. Possibly best of any restaurant. She's great. Cory is an excellent server as well. Teagen is an awesome front of house hostess. Cheyanne and Kory are amazing managers who know how to treat people. So just in general leading up to tonight its a hit or miss adventure. We like the flavors of their steaks and the price is unbeatable. Having said that. They have no idea how to grill a mid rare or rare steak. More than half the time it's well or mid well. And we don't flip out and get angry. We love the wait staff and we are reasonable. But they come back with a blue steak and it's frustrating. But we tip 20+% and keep coming back to this location only because of our servers. We love them. In fact we go to Texas's all over. Kenosha is a good location and it's cheaper. But we usually get our meals correct more than 90% at any of the other locations we have been to. On one occasion I ordered a 14oz fillet and speciffically asked for mid rare and absolutely do not butterfly it cause it changes the texture. And it comes and it's mid well and butterflied. I refused it and said I didn't want a new one. I'm sorry I'm not paying 48$ for that. Tonight my wife ordered an 8oz sirloin and I did the 16oz hers was a mid rare and I wanted rare. When they can. Mine was medium and hers was mid well. Our server immediately say this and before we could even say a word she took them back and reordered new ones. My wife's new one came medium and she decided to accept it. Mine came back medium well and was sent back. Soon after the 3rd attempt came back and was blue. I accepted it cause I was tired of the "grilling cook" playing around. Was told the the "grilling cook" was having a hard time getting much of the steaks cooked correctly. Not a big surprise tbh. Been meaning to try as many professional critics say the chain has the best quality meat of any of the mid-price steakhouses. I had the petite filet, fries, and green beans, started with the onion thing, as I had a free coupon. The steak was prepared to my specs, and was flavorful and tender. The onion bloom was fresh fried, hot, and crispy. Green beans had been cooked past the oblivion stage. The rolls were fresh and hot, I don't care for flavored butter, personally, but people seem to like it. As a result, the roll basket left with almost as many rolls as it came with. Service was fine. Chatty young man. The ambiance is perfect if you're a NASCAR fan. I have one actual complaint. They put some sort of seasoned salt on everything that comes out of the kitchen. We were seated quickly with a warm plate of bread rolls and honey butter that was sooo good. The place wasn't that packed because it was a late lunch. It was well lighted, country music playing. Our server, Tyler, took the time to welcome us and give us a short background of Texas Roadhouse and the menu. He made us feel comfortable and well taken cared of. I started with freshly brewed decalf coffee while my husband ordered pop and chicken wings appetizer. My husband ordered a combo of chicken and bbq ribs with the side of salad and Mac and cheese. I had chicken BBQ with sides of Caesar salad and baked sweet potatoes. The food was served warm. The taste is something to come back for. Meat portion was just right and was so tender. My husband and I frequent this spot often and usually we have the best service. This time around we had a young waitress who had a bit of attitude when ordering. When we sat down she didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink she automatically asked if we were ready to order. We told her we wanted two cokes and we ordered an appetizer she then proceeded to ask if we wanted to order we told her no we asked for more bread and she never brought it. Came in for a late dinner with my kids. Knowing that most Texas Roadhouse are a hit or miss. The reviews were telling me to miss this particular one and head over to Schaumburg. I was in lazy mode and DID NOT want to take a 40 min drive when this badly rated one is literally 7 min away. It was COLD out so we bundled up and left. When we arrived we were quickly greeted with smiles and seated in a warm and cozy spot. Waitress came out right away and served us drinks while we put in our orders. I was feeling extra due to prompt attention and Great service so I picked out a nice MAN sized steak good for a WOMAN. Drinks and appetizers came in time. We savored them as the food arrived. Food was on point! Steak cooked medium just like i like it and the kids were doing the food dance. (When the kids start doing the food dance then you already know what time it is!) I had the margarita with extra shot , it was too sweet for my taste so I give the margarita a 2 star ... I love a good margarita and this is not the place for it. I ordered a delicious ribeye 12oz steak with ribs and it was delicious! Juicy and perfectly cooked! My husband had the sirloin steak and grilled shrimp and yummy , the shrimp had garlic butter so amazing! The sides are so good they have potatoes, corn , broccoli , baked potato and more! And the blooming onion was so good! They always make it so greasy at other places but it was absolutely perfect here! Try the onion it's yum!! First off I saw my review on google was removed. I just wanted to say something about Corey the manager. Who apparently according to other reviews treats his waitresses pretty bad, not to mention customers apparently. I had a $30 steaks cooked like a tire and another one that was supposed to be well done basically seared on each side and thrown on the plate. Corey, their manager thought this was a Karen concern when I gave my complaint. After reviewing this voicemail I've decided I wouldn't even want to go back. Corey needs to be knocked down a notch. Texas Roadhouse is one of those chain restaurants that you know when you go, that it's not going to be top tier. First of all, I can't stand Country music. Secondly, I can't stand any team sports as I feel they hinder the evolution of our male species. However, the service and the food are excellent. I like the convenience of how reservations are made. They aren't called reservations, but that's what I call them. I forget their way of describing it. Basically you tell the staff when you plan on arriving, and then text them "here" when you have arrived. I think my mom and I waited 10 minutes max. We were early too. The restaurant is super loud. I couldn't hear what the staff was saying half the time. When you are being guided to be seated, the hostess will ask you if you want to pick out your beef. They have it on display in a case. I wanted to scream at the girl seating us, "I can't hear you over this horrible music!" But I didn't want her to take it personally. To corporate: you're annoying if you think this music level is appropriate. Anyway, all the meat in the case looked devoid of fat and it actually discouraged me from the experience I was about to have. Again, the staff was super sweet. No problems here. Our waiter was also super sweet. My mom kept hitting on him and I thought that was awesome. He didn't look like the kind of guy that watched football or barked at the TV screen, so that scored points with me also. The margaritas were tasty, but they did not come out consistently tasting the same way. My mom ordered a Jamaican Cowboy, which tasted better than the mango one I ordered. When I went to order one of what she was having, mine tasted different. The food was delicious. We ordered the blooming onion, and the dipping sauce paired with the friend onion was so good. I was worried about the lean meats I saw in the meat refrigerator, but the sirloin that I ordered came out tasting delicious. It was perfectly pink in the center. My mom's fillet was the same. Our potatoes were so good. You can get them loaded and the bacon bits are nice chunky bits of bacon. My mom and I arrived around 4pm and the place was already getting busy. Again, it is so loud in this place, it was difficult to converse with my mom, who is in her seventies. We kind of ate in silence and that was a little depressing. When I was in my twenties, I never liked eating in noisy restaurants either. It's like I have a hard time tasting my food over the loud music. Especially when it's bad music. Not sure that I will return. I cannot order carry out because it would be cold by the time I made it back to Woodstock. Come here if you are barbaric and like to bark at sports on the TV and belting out the latest country hits. The service is great, and the food is delicious. I made reservations 3 weeks early for a very important reason, they have booths. I had a party of 12, including elderly. They assured us they can give us high tables and it would be no problem. We fight our way through hordes of people, give Sarah and Ana our confirmation number, to then be provided with excuses on top of excuses. I lost count of how many times I heard "have you considered our booths?". No, thanks, we wanted to sit together, hence the prior preparation. In short, they overbooked. My husband and I came here tonight, and it was our first time ever visiting a Texas Roadhouse. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here, and we will definitely be back! Those biscuits and butter are pure clouds of bliss! For appetizers we ordered a Cactus Onion and their Cheese Fries. Both were delicious and not greasy! The fries had thick-cut bacon on them, so it was a nice touch, as usually you get bacon bits from other places. The onion was crispy, and the Cajun dipping sauce that comes with it is a nice touch with the spice. After that we ordered our dinner. My husband had the country fried chicken with macaroni and cheese, and a Caesar salad. He said the salad had too much dressing on it for his liking. He like the macaroni and cheese. The chicken was tender and breaded well. He said the gravy was okay, but that there was a spice in there that was throwing the flavor off a bit. I had the NY strip steak with a bake potato and buttered corn. The corn was okay; it came out in a bowl of butter (maybe water), so that was a bit different. The potato was steaming hot, and had a great salt crust on it. However, my steak was simply amazing! I was truly impressed that they cooked it perfectly (medium rare is the only correct answer), and the natural flavors were all that I needed.
