We came in on a Sunday and were seated right away. Our server was nice but wish he was a little more attentive to our table since we wanted to order as soon as we could. We got two servings of chips and salsa since the food took a little bit longer (around an hour) to get to our table. The food was okay but we had to pack it up to go since we were unable to eat it at the location because we didn't have much time left to eat. We only ordered boneless wings and the triple dipper which we thought would be a quick in and out but we were wrong. The place was clean and they had TVs to watch sports on. The food is ok, but those kiosks on the table are a real problem. I was dining with my wife and two young children. My 3 year old daughter started playing with the kiosk on the table and I didn't think it would be a problem. However, when I got the bill I was charged $2.99 for some gaming fee because my daughter must have played a game on it. At least let parents know that you get charged if your kid plays a video game on the kiosk. I feel ripped off. read more

We took our 4 year granddaughter for her birthday dinner. She loves the chips snd salsa. Upon arriving as a typical 4 year old, she had to use the restroom. We headed to the rest room and the ladies room was closed. We asked the hostess who happened to be right there, if there was a rest room available, she said "sorry it's closed for maintenance". I asked you don't have a rest room available , she replied no! My daughter quickly rushed out and walked our granddaughter to target to use the restroom. We told our server and he said there was a unisex bathroom available. So the night was not turning out from the beginning. My daughter and I both got the 6 oz sirloin, very disappointed both of our steaks were butterflied and were approx 1/4 inch thick, They were flavorless. We came to the chili's in crystal lake for a curbside Togo order. All was efficient and quick to pick up. Food was great ... got 4 burgers w black bean patties and fries and a quesadilla explosion salad. All were tasting great when we got home. Downhill-after Covid it seems a lot of these chains have gone downhill. The restaurant was dirty. Garbage, food, etc on the floor. It wasn't overly busy for a Sunday, but the service wasn't great. Ordered our 3 meals, two came out okay. Didn't get mine. Then the manager walks up and asks how it's going, I mentioned still waiting for my food. No one said anything, they walked away. This place does not know how to properly cook a burger. My husband asked for a medium burger and he received a well done burger. So he sent it back and then received one that was pink but cold in middle and the patty was falling apart. The cook just smashed the patty and flipped it and smashed it again. The hamburger bun also look like it was stuck in a pressed and burnt on top. Finally the third time was the charm and it was cooked properly. We received the excuse that there are new cooking procedures that are being enforced. I call bullshit. The cook at this chillis doesn't know how to cook. Will not be returning for a while. We ordered our food to go. My husband order mild boneless wings, got bbq. I ordered soup with no cheese and it had cheese. Ordered fajitas with extra chipotle butter got none on both orders. When I called and spoke with the manager regarding the order she made excuses like miscommunication or the phone must have cut out. She did offer to refund or remake the order. But by then it was 9pm and my husband works at 5am. We took the refund but the lack of customer service or empathy, lack of compassion for someones time and money was ridiculous. I ordered a pick up order and the sirloin steak was to be medium rare, it arrived well done and hard as a rock. I contacted the Crystal Lake location and after 8 minutes of not knowing what the person on the other end was doing, came back on the phone and stated that I would get a refund in 7-10 days if corporate approves it. The girl on the phone asked me my phone #, last 4 of my credit card and what type of card it was. within minutes of getting off the phone with Chilis, I get a text message from them asking me to pay for my order, thinking it was a refund I clicked on the link and it showed a different order and a balance. I contacted Crystal Lake again and was told to ignore it. This place can not be trusted, as they can not make food correctly, or handle issues without blaming corporate. Now I am getting text messages from them telling me to pay for someone's order. Tried to contact corporate but they hang up on you. This is one of the most amazing dining experiences I have had in a very long time. My husband, son and I decided to stop for lunch. We were wearing masks of course. The restaurant was not busy at all. We stood in the entrance area for quite a while waiting for a hostess. A barback walked into her area, looked at us then went to the back. Still no one came out so we assumed she had not mentioned there were guests waiting. When someone finally came to help us, there was no greeting, only "how many" ? WOW. No name tag and the uniform was blue stretch pants and a blue t- shirt. Sooo, now she took us toward a seat when my son requested a booth. That seemed to be annoying to her. She said ok then, the other way. We were seated closer to another couple than we wanted to be. My husband had gone to the restroom. My son and I moved to another booth. She walked out of the back, saw that we had changed seats, and threw up her hands at us. She probably lost her restaurant about $70.00 and lost herself $15-20.00. This is the Buffalo chicken salad..I subbed the fried chicken with grilled chicken. It was good! I originally ordered the mex bowl, but my chicken wasn't warm when it came out. I lost my appetite after biting into slightly cold chicken so I let the waitress know. Her and the manager were awesome and made the salad instead as shown, and they didn't charge me. Arrived on Friday, November 15 evening and the hostess told me the wait was 45 minutes. No problem I replied. It did take the 45 minutes but, then we got seated. Thinking we would have an enjoyable evening server Daniel advised the kitchen was behind...first red flag. We began to notice people seated before us didn't have any food yet but, still thought we would wait it out for a little to see if things improved-2nd red flag. Around us we heard many tables of guests complaining to servers, asking about their food orders. Servers could only apologize. If you're keeping count, this is red flag 3. I wanted to leave but my wife really wanted her burger and didn't want to start the wait again so, we stayed. So, after over 45 minutes, a server delivered the mushroom burger and fries...she didn't want fries. My shrimp tacos arrived cold, cold rice and cold bean soup...all cold! I managed through dinner as I watched numerous guests upset, leaving and some just getting food to go. What a total debacle. I realize this is not our servers issue but, as for the manager this is inexcusable. The manager needed to appease guests with free chips and salsa and walk around apologize to guests. Friday night...7 p.m.....everyone is going out to dinner! While Chili's was very busy, we were warmly greeted and checked in. They told us 15 minutes, but it was only 10. We love the Coke freestyle machine, everyone gets what they want! (especially my wife, who loves the caffeine free diet coke...hard to find!) Servers are always fast and friendly. Jim, the manager, treats every table like it's his family! It's like having a great meal in your own home! (Without all the work!) We love the potato soup and the prime rib burrito! In the past year, I have been to this location and the EXACT experience repeated itself each time. We have a large group (about 8 people), simple lunch orders, and it takes an unnecessarily long time for our food to come out. When I say that, I mean 45 minutes to an hour. Both times were huge inconveniences because we only had an hour for lunch, and both times we were late back to work. Luckily I have a boss that is flexible and understanding, but this is absolutely unacceptable. What if my boss wasn't understanding? I would then waste my time waiting for food that never came and have to rush back to work on an empty stomach. Both time, there were no explanations as to why our orders took so long to get to us, just a simple apology and nothing else. I have been to establishments before that I experience a very, VERY minor inconvenience and I had the manager bending over backwards to make our experience better. Therefore, if the manager of Chili's is actually reading this, which I doubt, there are simple things to do to keep your customers happy. In an instance like this, offering a small discount off the bill, personally getting all hands on deck to serve these customers, or even offering an appetizer on the house are all acceptable ways to rectify the situation. We eat here all the time, at least 2x a month for years now. We have never not thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Staff is always upbeat and pleasant. Great, varied menu with healthy choices as options. Mushroom swiss burger with garlic is outstanding, chicken rancho tacos with corn tortillas (ask for corn instead of flour) are amazing, and chicken fajitas are great too! Love their chili and Caribbean salad as well. Fantastic salsa! Chips are made of corn, so gluten free. read more
