If you're expecting a quiet first date, this is not the place. This is a country music, cheering servers, loud people kind of place (which I like and don't mind). They start you off with some AMAZING bread rolls with sweet butter, I always get fried pickles as my appetizer and their sirloin is great. I always ask for mine medium well with butter on top, it's delicious and mac & cheese and mashed potatoes as my sides. They're always really quick with the food, servers and hosts are always sweet. We had to wait almost a full hour to get sat and it was only me and my wife they took us off the waitlist without telling us. When we were talking to the manager Bryan about it, he said that it wasn't their fault as if that was any way to talk to a customer, trying to place blame instead of a solution is not something that should be in leadership position/customer service . I'm very displeased with the service we received today. We never ended up getting sat, my wife is pregnant and this whole situation was very stressful to her as well. I attempted to have a meal here on 2-19-26. There was a party of 8. We were seated the waitress appeared asking for our drink orders. Water was requested for the table. It didn't show up. I ordered a voda collins, waitress returned stating they didn't have the ingredients. I then ordered a Woodford reserve on the rocks. The waitress did not know what to is. I explained it was bourbon and she left. Shortly afterwards a male employee showed up asking who ordered the Woodford. I came here on 5/8/21 for dinner with friends. I've been to a Texas Roadhouse before but not the friends and they wanted steak. This was one of the few places that were open late. We arrived about 9:50. I was told it would be a 10-20 minute wait. As soon as I got back to the car, I was alerted that the table was ready. Our waiter was Jaye and he was amazing! He said it was his 3rd day working there. He definitely made the experience better. He has a great personality. 3/4 of us got cocktails that were delicious. One drink was wrong but we got to keep it while they made the correct one. We each added an extra shot to the drink, which was $2-$3. We all got steak too. I got the combo with ribs. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. I got it mediums well. I got mixed veggies as a side, and it was carrots and broccoli. The carrots tasted so raw. Meaning, it was as if they were just chopped and added with the broccoli; they weren't cooked or anything. Very nasty. The ribs were falling of the bone! friend 1 asked for their steak to be medium well, but it was actually well. Additionally, it was supposed to be smothered, but it wasn't. It was taken back and a fresh one was made and it was correct. Friend 2 got shrimp but it was cold. They sent it back and got fresh shrimp that was fine. Friend 3 had no issues with their food. Their rolls with that honey butter,...omg!!! I ate a whole dozen and so I had to take me meal home Togo...and with another 3 boxed of rolls. The chicken sandwich was huge and moist. Only thing is buns were already soggy when taken a bite. Chicken fried steak...big. Good not the greatest but still up there. Ribs where good...service was very nice. The servers and bar staff have no idea about what they are serving. One of our party ordered a Mojito cocktail. The server said he would have to ask the bartender "if they had that." He came back and informed us they don't have that. So, basically, if it doesn't come in a bottle, can, or is made with a mix in their machine the bartender has no idea how to make a cocktail. The three of us ordered our entrees and wow, they make frozen dinners more appetizing. The grilled shrimp had no grill marks whatsoever. The beef entrees also lacked any grill marks. It was like microwaved food. The server mixed up all of the side dishes. He didn't even offer to take the plates back to rectify the problem. We had to switch meats and veggies ourselves. I ordered a to go meal from Texas Roadhouse the day after Christmas. I had just had surgery two days ago and wasn't up to cooking. The steaks were perfect, my husband had fries and rice and I had baked potato and green beans. The beans were so good. And the potato was so salty it was almost inedible. I do like a bit of salt with my potatoes but the salt crust on this potato was just ridiculous. I peeled the skin off and ate the insides. My appetite was off so it served me for two meals. Just had the worst restaurant experience of my life at this establishment. I would not recommend this location to anybody. We were seated at 8:43 and didn't get our food until 10:13 after several attempts of asking about our food and kept getting the same answer of it'll be 10 to 15 minutes. Once I get my food, they get my order wrong and still get charged full price after having to sit there for so long. I didn't even eat. I still had to pay my bill and watched people come in and out, get served, eat, and have the experience I and my family were expecting to have. Save your time and money. I think that maybe made difference or maybe there just a good restaurant from cooks to staff. I went to roadhouse in mcallen on my bday and it sucked. The cat fish was soggy and just didnt tast or look good. My mothers plate was just as awful which was to salty and are waitress was terrible. She sat us in a booth and booth had a part of table u can raise up to make longer and she said no u can't do that. You can clearly see that u can .. so i called the manager and he didn't for us and all this on my bday. So it was terrible food along with service in McAllen restaurant. Love the steaks here. Most likely because of the tenderizing. Glad I'm not allergic to it. My sister is. I will try a steak without it being tenderized and see if it still tastes just as good. Salada are always cold and fresh. Enjoyable in the Texas heat! Sides are great, too. I usually have a baked sweet potato with some cinnamon! So, so good. I don't come to eat here as often as I like. They open later in the afternoon and by then I forget! Hahaha! Steaks are tender and cooked to my liking which has gone from rare to medium over the years. Food is served hot! We usually have better service than this especially at this roadhouse, but our waiter today ruined the visit. We usually get sat with bread but the bread wasnt here until a couple minutes before our meal arrived. We all had finished our drinks and 20minutes had passed and she finally came up to us and asked if we needed anything. We finally got our food and I had to ask for fried pickles (an appetizer) during our final meal. We did not end up getting our fried pickles and she had the audacity to tell us we did not order them when it was the first thing we ordered. Our waiter was horrible. The food was incredible as always but the waiter made the night bad. We should not be asking for everything twice or be waiting 2 minutes after we all finished our drinks. Texas Roadhouse was quite a restaurant when they first came to the scene. Over the years they've really gone down hill. A lot! The food always tastes good, but that's where I draw the line. The restaurants, including Pharr, always feel dirty (and I'm not talking about the peanuts)! The servers are basic order takers, the drinks are just trashy beer or too sugary. Our experience today was dirty silverware, roll after roll, after roll. Is it wasn't rice between the prongs, it was cheese melted to it, and most often was dirty dish water still on the freshly rolled silverware This tells me two things.... 1. Sanitation is not a concern for this restaurant. They are not concerned with changing dishwasher water often enough that it shows on their dishes. 2. They don't pay attention to detail, at all. The person who rolls silverware should see the filth they are rolling. I've complained to corporate about the bathrooms in the past but corporate doesn't care either because they didn't get back to me. This chain has gone down hill so much, we won't be back. I'm absolutely disgusted with the cleanliness of the silverware! The manager was quick to discount the check. I told him that change the dishwasher water and fix the problem and that a discount is not what I wanted. I want the problem fixed. Just sad! read more

Wonderful location on the southside of Edinburg, right off the Expressway. I have a hunch this location is just bigger in size that the one in McAllen. Not sure if I'm correct, the interior just seems larger and more spacious; you don't feel on top of people. It's a little loud, but the vaulted ceilings help absorb some of the noise. The bar area is really sleek for a roadhouse with excellent seating and a great bartender! The food is really good, excellent steak selections and wonderful bread rolls. I honestly could fill myself up on bread and peanuts alone. I've ordered the grilled chicken before, excellently cooked and perfectly seasoned. The kids ribs (which they will let you order as an adult) are fall-of-the-bone tender! Can't really go wrong with any of the food options. Overall, this little chain restaurant is clean, offers great food, and is in a great location. Can get a little crowded, but they offer call ahead seating which is fantastic! They'll let you call ahead an hour in advanced which helps you beat the lines. read more

The POSs are ALWAYS dusty they do not clean properly. Kitchen staff have their masks half on and half off. This is a dirty place and they sit their guests way too. Poorly run and awful customer service. If you have a group, you need to avoid at all costs and choose another restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday with a large group of 13 and being it was a Sunday night we wanted to make sure we had reservations to avoid long waits with the size of our group. We called Texas Roadhouse earlier in the morning and they asked we call back about an hour before the time we wanted to be seated. We called back at 6PM and made the reservation and even received a confirmation number. They asked we all be here on time so we could be seated as soon as we arrive. We arrived early at 6:45 and were told it would be a 50 to 55 minute wait. When pressed as to how it was any different than just showing up, the hostess struggled to answer. They had chosen to seat another, smaller group in the group area and had no other sections that could accommodate us. They seated that group at around 6:40- just five minutes before we arrived and 20 minutes before the time we indicated we would be arriving. For a large group of 13, you think they would be concerned with us leaving but instead just asked if we still wanted to wait. No apology or anything. No attempt to keep our business. This is the first and last time I will ever attempt to eat at a Texas Roadhouse with more than four people. read more

I have always enjoyed a good steak but Texas Roadhouse has been going down hill especially the one in Edinburg. I ordered a medium rare steak but instead got a raw steak that was cold. Instead getting a fresh steak I got a reheated steak that was dry. Don't understand why I couldn't get a new steak plus my steak fries were soggy. My wife and I are visiting from CA. Our first time here and we loved it. My wife just commented they Nayely may have been the best server that we have had anywhere. WORST HOST EVER I went on 03/03/2019 and had the worst experience ever! I went in with 10 friends from playing basketball super hungry and requested a server I previously had a good experience with. So these two hostess told me it was going to be 1-2hr wait so my friends and I were willing to wait for the good service. One hour into waiting we get up to ask the hostess how much longer the wait was and she gave me an ugly look to just say "the way for that server is 2 hours" already knowing we ALREADY WAITED ONE HOUR! At this point 3 of my friends left cause they weren't going to wait any longer. Then I found out that these girls sat 2 people in a 6 person booth we could've sat in. We went in first then that couple and we are a huge party, we should be priority and should've have to be waiting ONE HOUR. The server spoke out to the manager, I noticed the manager approach the hostess about the situation so I stand up from the waiting area to see what's going to happen and this one server by the name AISHA looks up away from the screen straight to me with the ugliest look! The manager then approaches me and my friends saying if I am willing to wait 30 more minutes he can seat us with our requested server. I tell him we've been waiting too long just to wait another 30mins so my friend and I got up ready to leave, and he tells me he'll give us free entrees if I give him 5 mins to work something out so we decide why not. We get seated on the other side of the restaurant AWAY from our server making it very difficult on her. The manager and herself provided good service and did the best they could to fix the problems these two girls caused. Despite all that we left our server a $20 tip for still providing good service from across the restaurant, but that one experience really did it for all of us. WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN, y'all can thank AISHA for that. read more

This is the worst Texas Roadhouse I have ever been to. My husband and I went once and it took the waiter 20 minutes to come to our table, mind you not they had just opened so it was dead.
