We just left Texas Roadhouse after waiting for over 35 minutes for a table that was supposed to take 25 minutes. I went inside to check on the status of our table. The waitress was telling the people in front of me she couldn't find their reservation. When someone came to help her find the reservation, she said they would have to wait an additional 20-25 minutes. When she finally acknowledged me, she said they texted our party and we were waitlisted because we didn't answer. She had written down the wrong number. I protested. She then said we would be seated next. When I called my party in, she said we would have to go back to our car for another 20 minutes or so. She was horrendously rude to me and to anyone else who dared question the status of their wait. Needless to say, we left. Fire her. She's the worst hostess I've ever met. read more

I want to like Texas Roadhouse. I really do. They have so much going for them. I think their side salad is as good as any I've ever had. The rolls are good. The service is outstanding. And the beer is always cold. But I swear, every time I go there I get a steak with a piece of gristle in it. It doesn't matter the cut. Tonight my NY strip had a piece in it and my wife's fillet mignon had piece in it. It's easy enough to cut around but that's not the point. It shouldn't be. Party of 3 on a Friday night at @ 8pm. We were celebrating a successful filing of our taxes. Was told 20 minute wait for a table, but the pager went off after less than 10 minutes. There were much larger parties waiting outside for a table, and it looked like there was still a long wait for them. Drinks: Sangria Margarita, Tall Well Drink, and a Strawberry Lemonade. Meals: 2-10oz Prime Rib, with loaded potatoes, applesauce, salad, and a Bacon Cheese Burger with Fries. No dessert Drinks were fresh, Rolls were warm, and that butter!! Mmmmm. Food was hot, flavorful and given the number of guests that were still in the dining room, it was surprisingly fast too. Our server was attentive, personable, and checked up on us frequently. Our only issue was the applesauce side, didn't come with the rest of the order, and we had to ask for it specifically. Our server apologized and fixed the problem quickly. My partner and I are regulars to steakhouses -- both high end, low end, and everything in between. We were severely disappointed with our experience a few nights ago. While the restaurant was busy on this particular night, our party of two had placed a simple order. While we waited, larger parties at surrounding tables that had arrived after us had received their food first. Our waitress stated that our food would be ready shortly, several times. An hour and a half later, our two steaks and four sides arrived. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait as our steaks were overcooked, chewy, and difficult to eat. Every week or two the wife and I meet her Dad (Who lives in Richmond, IN) somewhere in the middle and we have dinner. It's nice and enjoyable...but, I did have a bit of a problem with this place. We pulled into the parking lot and there were no spots anywhere, so the wife ran in to see what kind of wait time we were looking at. She called me on my phone and said there was no wait, so I met her dad in the parking lot and went in. Then, we proceeded to stand in the front of the restaurant for 20 minutes until we got seated. Hamilton, while making changes, still really hasn't picked up the slack on the lack of good sit-down restaurants. Texas Roadhouse, in my opinion, is by far and away your best option for a hearty meal on the west side. The dinner rolls & cinnamon butter that come complimentary are a staple and absolutely fantastic. They used to be generous with these, but expect to have to ask for them some of the time. Not a big deal. Also, they don't seem to put the peanuts out much anymore, so if you want them then you'll likely have to ask for those, as well. Nice, relaxed atmosphere where you'll feel comfortable in any attire. Bar never seems to be too rowdy and the bartenders always seem to be completely familiar with who's sitting there. I'm guessing their clientele is a lot of regulars. It has a fun vibe to it, with local sports memorabilia on the walls, the game playing on the TVs and country music playing at a louder but totally reasonable volume. Their grilled chicken salad I'd out of sight. The ranch dressing is thick and full of flavor and they are generous with the hard boiled egg; my favorite thing to put on a salad. Recently I've been getting their sirloin steak and it's been fabulous each time. Cooked exactly how I asked and very tender and juicy. I also highly recommend their mashed potatos, and if you aren't concerned about calories then you MUST order a cactus blossom! Their service is hit or miss. They tend to hire high school and college students that don't seem to enjoy their jobs. Sometimes you go in and are paired with the friendliest, most attentive young person and other times you're stuck with someone who can't seem to get through their shift quick enough. We just moved to the area and thought we'd be on the safe side and have dinner at a chain restaurant that we normally love! Texas Roadhouse has cold beers and the best ranch dressing!!! Wow, was that a mistake... There were 4 hostesses who gabbed and joked around while there was a long line, not even helping to direct the traffic. The wait for 2 was about 20 minutes, place seemed empty, lots of open tables, guess they were a bit under staffed?? Waited for our table at the bar and grabbed a drink...well tried too. One bartender who spent a good 10 minutes making drinks and getting beer for the servers at the back bar. I get this is important but hello....what about all the other patrons at the bar! We patiently waited and a nice younger manager came to help and got our drinks. As we waited some more and empty on drinks the bartender came over and through out our beer bottles but didn't ask us if we wanted another. So we sat there without drinks until the second bartender came back. 20 minutes later and our buzzer hadn't gone off....so we tried our luck at the bar. The second bartender joined the bar area and was quite good, very attentive, took our order and we were good to go. And he got us more cold beer!! :) Things are looking up! That is until our food arrived.... I asked for no cheese (stomach issue) and of course my salad was piled high with cheese and most of the lettuce was brown...eww My husbands side dish was wrong but we ate it the food because we hate sending food back.... you just never know what goes on in a kitchen and we didn't to "bother" anyone... Texas Roadhouse is the only consumer-grade steak place in Hamilton. Texas-style atmosphere, big margaritas, lots of little yeasty rolls with sweet butter, etc. It's fine if you're a fan of all that. I can take it or leave it, but when the kids pick a place for their birthday that's where they want to go. And it's fine for what it is. We usually bring a group of about 7 and they cram us into a 6-person booth or make us wait for an hour for the maybe one big table to open up. The booths are long and raised up. Why is this important? Because the petite little waitresses can't reach very far, so you usually end up doing your own serving and bussing while the waitress is (as politely as she can) ordering you around. What's worse is that when they bring out the food, they don't know who gets what, so you get a meal shoved in your face that isn't yours and the shover doesn't know where it's supposed to go. Yes, I know to expect this from a casual place, but I'm usually a very generous tipper and I could not bring myself to put anywhere NEAR a 20% tip on a $140 bill when we ended up doing most of her work. Not that I ENCOURAGE tipping small, I'm just telling you you'll feel better tipping low than high when it's all said and done. The food is fine and everyone's order seemed right until i glanced over at my wife's medium rare steak (which she ordered medium) after I had unknowingly eaten half of my medium steak (which I ordered medium rare). Great place for salads, burgers, 'anything on the kids meal', steaks, and salmon! I absolutely love salmon, and whenever I go to a new restaurant, if it has salmon then I order the salmon just to compare it to the salmon at Texas Roadhouse, and Texas Roadhouses still has the best salmon. For those of you that really like fish, perhaps you have heard of "Bonefish Grill", I tried the salmon there, in which it was truly delicious, but the Texas Roadhouse salmon is still the best in my opinion. read more

We visited this location a couple of weekends ago while visiting family. Having never visited this establishment before, we didn't know exactly what to expect... except that we would get a hardy meal and likely have a nice time. We were not disappointed. Although there was an incredible number of people waiting both inside and outside - we could barely navigate through the aisles - we got sat at our table within 10 minutes. There was a bit of confusion, as we had made a reservation for the large high-top table in the bar, but when we got there they didn't appear to have noted it. But the particular table we were hoping for had just been vacated as we walked up to, so the staff was happy to clear it for us while we waited. I did feel bad for 6 of us standing there in the aisle, as staff and patrons alike were streaming in from all areas. But the staff never made a remark or looked displeased. The meal was as we expected - they serve you a TON of food for a small price. However, this review is being written solely to thank Donovan. I don't know if I have ever met a more knowledgeable and friendly server anywhere. His enthusiasm and professionalism were top notch and we felt welcomed and appreciated the entire meal. There was no request that Donovan didn't respond to right away, with a smile on his face the entire time. Our family said that this restaurant has great management and people truly do like their jobs here. But Donovan was a solid example of someone who truly enjoys and takes pride in what he does. My wife recently had 2 strokes and a massive brain bleed but is now home but bedridden. One of her favorite places to eat is Texas Roadhouse. Getting her to eat had been an issue and I have to tube feed her most of the time. Seeing her face light up when I mentioned a steak dinner to go from here mad me extremely happy but sadly, once I got the food home, it was a miserable letdown. The steaks were fine, actually awesome, but the rest of the meal was just pitiful. The baked potatoes on all 3 steak dinners I ordered were like they had been baked 5 days prior. There must be a shortage on lettuce also because all 3 salad containers (daughter got a steak dinner also),were not even half full, and oh, forget about ordering extra butter and extra salad dressing for all 3 meals because they just don't pay attention to it. $76.00 wasted. It isn't a good meal unless everything is good. You failed Texas Roadhouse, you failed big time and this meal was so very important to me because of my wife!! We were missing honey butter that we paid extra for as well as celery, ranch, and a side of broccoli. My tater skins were burnt and the rare steak was not rare but raw. Kizzy Bryan who is supposed to be a supervisor is rude and unhelpful too. She asked me to drive 20 minutes back over there to return the items that were not cooked correctly. She said that was all her boss authorized her to do but was unwilling to let me speak with her boss. She treated me like I was lying about how the food was cooked because my diabetic son ate the raw steak and I didn't want to drive 20 minutes each way to bring the skins back. Do you want to pay for my gas to drive 20 minutes each way? And to think I gave a $3 tip too. Very disappointed now for the second time. We are still owed a credit from the last time that I almost forgot about. It has probably been over a year since the last time we had Texas Roadhouse because they messed our order up then. Had a blast! Food was great and the hospitality was parallel. When we first got in the restaurant it was packed, our wait time was 5 minutes but we were located to our booth right away! If you want a nice dinner with your family come all down to Texas Roadhouse!
