The quality of the food being served there now is not even close to what it should be for the price they charge. McDonald's has better quality control compared to this Texas Roadhouse location. Strongly suggest going somewhere else to eat. This is the second time I've eaten at this location, both times my meat came out way over cooked. I would've sent it back this time, unfortunately, the waitress never came back to ask me how my meal was. Our grandchildren love eating here, good variety on menu, especially the rolls. Our wait staff was excellent, DJ checked on us constantly, professional, friendly, and thorough. Everyone's food cooked as requested. The only problem with this restaurant is the floor plan. Very tight space to move around about and no room for large parties. Can't believe I got a bad steak at Texas Roadhouse but I did. I ordered the 12oz NY Strip cooked medium with blue cheese crumbles on top. It arrived medium-rare without the cheese. I can eat it slightly undercooked but there was something strange about the texture of the meat. It was almost spongy. Like it had been treated with meat tenderizer or something. I sent it back for more time on the grill hoping that would fix it. Still the same. I had to spit out a ball of unchewable meat with every bite. That's not the way a good NY Strip is supposed to be. I noticed they haven't raised their prices. I think they've reduced their quality. I'll be choosing a different restaurant next time. read more

Wait times are always very long. Then after waiting even after joining the wait list you get seated to wait some more. Every other time the steaks come out before the apps or salads. And the last few times my silverware and dishes have had food that didn't get washed off. I understand that the demand for the restaurant is high and staffing is short everywhere but it would make sense to only seat the amount of people that can adequately be taken care of. It would be better to wait longer if you could actually get decent service. But end of the day it's about the money they make and people keep coming so they have it figured out. read more

Waited almost 2 hours after we were told it would be 30 minutes, then once we got inside and placed our order we had to wait almost another hour to get it and when we did it was cold. All the food was great and we had a wonderful waiter! The reason we gave it a four-star rating was because the table next to us was not as fortunate and their waitressed sucked. This evening, my family visited this location. Food was good, and our server was great and attentive. I visited the women's restroom with my kids, and there was an employee (not a server, no name tag) standing by the sinks scrolling on her phone the whole time we were in there; I'm assuming on her break. She went out as we did, still staring at her phone while walking around. When I worked as a server many years ago, that was definitely never allowed and it's very sad to see how times have changed. First off I understand with CoVid19 that certain per cautionary measures are taken with that being said staff not covering their nostrils is not how the mask are intended to be worn. They explained upon the second text our table would be ready. We waited for the text and it explained at 8:52 pm to let the hostess know at the entrance. When my daughter approached the hostess she told her to go back to the car and wait for another text. By the time my daughter turned around to say that to me a third text came through stating our table was ready and I held my phone out and she ask what name is it in. I said our reservation name and she told us go in. After being seated no high chair was brought nor any activities or coloring for children to stay busy or entertained. Straight away I placed a drink order with two appetizers so we wouldn't have to wait to much longer as we had driven two hours to come to this location for a surprise dinner with my family. After ordering the entrees two were just alike except the sides Ribeye medium rare and shrimp combos. Green beans and potatoes. My husband ordered a forth worth ribeye 12 ounce medium rare as well. Everything came out and two out of three stakes were cooked correctly. Mine was over cooked and had a lot of fat,the green beans were gross like old grease (bacon) was used to flavor them. Morgan was our waitress and was fabulous and couldn't have ask for a nicer personality or better skills with service and understanding. The waitress brought out the salad and it had paper laying on top of it. Like a receipt. We're working out of town and came here because it was close to our hotel and we wanted steaks and salad. When we pulled in the parking lot it was so full we almost didn't go in because we were assuming a long wait. Good thing we went in because there was no wait and even though it was very busy we were seated and served quickly. The food and service were very good. The kitchen manager came to my table just about when I was to cut into the steak and asked me if i really wanted the steak this way cooked. Turned out the waitress talked to him and he came direct to my table to apologize and to fix the problem without me even having to say something. Worst Steak Ever: I ordered To-Go on a Friday night because I didn't want to deal with the crowd, and paid online. First of all, there is no To-Go parking. So my 12 year old daughter and I had to park at another establishment and walk over. From the moment I walked in the girls were super rude. I get that a friday night at a busy restaurant isn't fun, but it's also where you make your money, and good customer service should be an expectation. When I got the food it came in a bag and they asked me to look to see if everything looked okay. Well, you know what they don't do? They don't give you a fork and a knife and ask you to see if the steak is cooked correctly. They just have you check to see if it's the right stuff. That seems reasonable I guess. Except, apparently not. I ordered a 16 oz Fort Worth Ribeye medium rare. I had one at the Texas Roadhouse in Asheville about a month prior, and it was so mouth watering I had been dying for another one. This is not what I received. The steak was overcooked, tough, dry, and flavorless. It is the ONLY time I've had to use steak sauce on a steak sauce in this type of establishment. I have never been so disappointed in the service and food. It was awful. If it's undercooked, I can cook it a little longer. But if it's overcooked, a twenty dollar steak is ruined. I would have called or went back, but because I "checked" my food, it was unlikely to be corrected by such rude people. My advice, don't order to go. And if you really want a good steak in Hickory, go to longhorn, outback, or basically anywhere else. I could have gotten a better steak at the Golden Coral across the street. read more

Why would we wait another ~40 minutes for another steak to be served cold. She could have even brought this to the manager's attention, but she didn't.
