We went to Texas Roadhouse in Lancaster Pa a few weeks ago and it was a glorious meal. We were so happy with the experience my daughter gifted a gift card for my bday. Last weekend my wife and I decided to visit the Howell location. I guess lightening doesn't strike twice, sadly. We used the app to reserve our space and notified the hostess upon arriving. We were offered bar seating along with a free app. Things were looking good. We were greeted immediately by a busy bar tender who was super nice. We ordered our drinks and were asked what type of free app we'd like. We opted for the boneless chicken wings. Then for entrees my wife and I both ordered sirloins, i opted for the combo with ribs, she got the steak by itself. We both asked for them to be cooked medium. Her steak was grey (well-done) mine was perfect. I cut mine in 1/2 and gave it to her. I ate a piece of my steak which was very nice. Then i cut into my ribs which turned out to be the driest ribs i've ever eaten. I literally had to grab my drink out of fear of choking (I'm not exaggerating). I've heard too many stories as to why you never send food back, so we opted to hold onto what we had. Sitting next to us was an older couple. They both ordered steak, the lady returned her steak as it was overcooked as well. By the time they brought her a new steak, her husbands steak was cold. They complained and were given a gift card to return with. After our Lancaster experience we were beyond excited to try TRH again only to have the wind knocked from our sails. read more

Food is always delicious. Can't complain there as this is a chain and their food is consistent. Ambiance is nice as well, casual place and that itself is comforting. The service on the other hand is not consistent. Sometimes I get good servers and sometimes I don't. I live near this location so I've been here plenty of times. But recently I came here and ordered a bowl of chili with a side salad and I asked for crispy chicken on top thinking that was doable. The server charged me for an $11 meal JUST for the chicken!!! Had I known that I wouldn't have ordered it. Clearly if I want a side of something I'm not looking to pay $11 for it. I think it's crazy the server didn't think to mention that. And then for things like chili every server asks "did you want any toppings" but they never mention each topping is like an extra $1 each. I'm much wiser about it now since I've been plenty of times but it's things like that I find really sneaky, be upfront about it with people if it's that much of an extra cost. Reduced a star I because they forgot about us when we checked in after getting called for having seats ready. Literally stood there for another 10 minutes while people behind us were being seated. First time here after passing by 1 million times. I like that you could join the waitlist from your phone before coming, which alleviates the wait time while you're at the restaurant. Got sat shortly after arriving. The staff were all very friendly. Really enjoyed the bread and the cinnamon butter which we were served upon seating. The bread in itself was just so good. Ended up getting a 6 ounce fillet for my meal with a baked potato and Caesar salad. The steak was a little dry, but I got it cooked medium well which was the perfect amount of pink for me maybe would add sautéed mushrooms next time. I would also probably ask for the Caesar dressing on the side next time. We also got the half rack of ribs, which were so good. Everything was totally affordable. Texas Roadhouse is my go-to favorite restaurant. But today's experience with the service was god awful. Went to the Howell location at around 6:30 PM on a summer Sunday night. We had a party of three. Vanessa is the WORST waitress at this restaurant by a mile. After ordering, she took 10-15 whole minutes just to distribute our drinks. Then, we asked her to bring us more rolls. Vanessa continues walking around the restaurant without any baskets of rolls in her hand. When my impatient father asks about the whereabouts of the rolls, she admits to forgetting about our table completely. Come on now, bringing rolls to a table is a 5 minute task max without delays! So, we end up getting our basket (Which we saved for home) from a manager AFTER our food came out. He ended up giving us a coupon while trying to explain this whole situation. My dad left a $5 tip, when he should've left a $0.01 tip instead. This gets a two-star rating because our food still came out good. I ended up eating a grand total of two rolls before my meal. Next time I visit this restaurant, Vanessa better have been fired, or else. read more

The food overall was great. The broccoli could've used a little more time because it was a bit firm the end cut of prime rib I got was fantastic. The service people are always very, very nice, and the laid-back atmosphere makes it fun for dining by yourself or with your family. Highly recommended. read more

As a huge fan of this chain, I thought it would be nice to grab dinner with the family here tonight. I've always done To Go orders at this location, so today was the first time dining in. Overall, we had a great experience. The layout and systems are the same as any other Texas Roadhouse with friendly staff that took care of us. I always enjoy their sirloin, done medium rare and of course their legendary bread...can't get enough of that! Facilities were well maintained, but only issue is parking during peak hours. I recommend calling or coming in advance to get on the wait list because dinner times, especially on the weekends, you're looking at an easy 45-50 minute wait time. read more

The ribs were mediocre when I come here was not very happy with them, but when I got the fried chicken another time (warning it is not actual pieces of fried chicken) it was beyond spectacular. I have been to the Pigeon Forge, TN & Jacksonville, NC Restaurants. It was so good. I was so excited when they brought one to Howell, NJ. Like every new restaurant they are super busy and hard to get into. Finally got to go to the Howell location on 11/2/25. I was so very disappointed. Our Service was fantastic. The food was so salty, we could not finish eating the food. They forgot my vegetables (Broccoli & Carrots), they finally came out and were not even cooked, I just brought them home and finished cooking them myself. A Manager stopped by our table to see how everything was as she was chomping on her gum like a cow, if you are in that kind of position, you should not be chewing gum while talking to customers. Both cooked perfectly as always. 2 management staff came by to confirm our meals were good and we have a good experience. Always join the waitlist. We had dinner there last night. The place was very crowded. Even at 5 PM there was a wait. The waitress Elizabeth (Liz) was very attentive and friendly. The appetizers and salad came out very quickly. They were very good and nice size. The chili was also very tasty. Liz made sure that our drinks were always refilled. We all loaded steaks. Amanda was our server- she is simply awesome! Came here on Friday night for a dinner a couple weeks ago and we were lucky enough to sit at her table for our dinner. She had a mask on but you could feel her smile from behind her mask, because her eyes reflected her smile. Hubby had the chicken dinner with the baked sweet potato, I had the rack of ribs with bakes sweet potato. His potato was not cooked all the way, so she brought him a new one- perfect. Due to pandemic there is outdoor sitting with paperless menus available, which were not so user friendly. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. After ordering drinks we were given an unlimited amount of buns with butter which I truly enjoyed. Good job guys. I ordered the BBQ chicken, whole potato with soar cream and the house salad. The house salad arrived shortly after the drinks which was delicious as well, 8/10. The actual meal took almost 40 minutes to get where after eating 5 plus buns and the salad I was pretty satisfied and ready to box my meal home. I have been to this texas roadhouse location before. I went today with friends and didnt have a good experience. My friend ordered a medium rare tbone steak and then later found raw parts on the meat. My bf ordered a medium well steak but it was medium rare. My other friend got a pulled pork sandwich and it had pieces of bones in it. I took photos of the meats to show. We showed the server the raw meat and then they took it back and just recooked the same meat and got back a very well done meat. They gave him a coupon with a $30 value for next visit. We werent satisfied at the fact that we still had to pay for the raw meat so we called our server again and the manager came to our table and took off the tbone steak from the bill.
