Chicken and pork BBQ is amazing! I'm a carnivore so didn't touch rice or beans and won't comment on that. But, meat is really good!

The BBQ was good (not great but solid. Irealize this is subjective), and definitely satisfying for a casual bite. One letdown was the jalapeño poppers, which were bacon-wrapped rather than the traditional style, and not really our thing. Drink options are limited to sodas and water which was unfortunate as a small beer selection would've taken things up a notch, especially with BBQ. Their BBQ sauces are top notch, though - make sure to try them all. Also, the chili is absolutely spectacular. That said, everything else we ordered was tasty and well-prepared, and the overall vibe was laid-back and welcoming. Worth a visit if you're in the area and craving a quick, hearty meal.

Driest least tender crap brisket ever had! Stopped going to this spot several years ago because…read morethey screwed up our order every time, several times in a row. Was pretty good back in the day. Nothing awards worth winning but good. I can make better in my back yard on the weber. Tried this joint again, tonight, for the first time in several years and more than disappointed! The brisket sandwich was like a beef jerky sandwich, dry very chewy and no way smokey and tender. Seriously the worst brisket I have ever had at a smoke joint! Never again, and if you want good smoked food look elsewhere. Would give negative five stars for the joint if I could. Really, if I can make better smoked food in my back yard, why is this place still in business? Go somewhere else.

An odd little place, but good for lunch…read more We were there mid-afternoon and the place was empty. Our server (one of the owners) was very friendly and attentive. At her suggestions we ordered the piri piri mixed grill to share between the two of us. Although it comes with rice and french fries, we opted for the fries + a salad for a $1.75 upcharge. It also comes with garlic bread and olives. The garlic bread was tasty. The french fries were spot-on: arrived hot from the fryer and were nice and crisp. The salad was also very good, especially considering February in NJ. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy and I didn't see any brown or wilted leavesl. The tomatoes were the sad pale imitation of real tomatoes - I'd use cherry tomatoes or leave them out if I were making a salad this time of year. The only dressing offered was oil and vinegar, which was fine with us. There was plenty of meat on the platter, a good varity of chicken, pork and beef, and it was well-seasoned. However, it was a bit dry and tough (except for the chicken, which was good). I felt that a sauce of some sort on the meat would have improved it a lot. We like Portuguese/Brazilian food a lot. I think we'll likely go back and try something else.

We have been getting take out from Norah's for about a decade and loved every meal…read more Unfortunately I cannot write that about the takeout my husband picked up last night. I ordered beef ox tails which were always in a flavorful brown gravy over white rice with sweet plantains and sautéed cabbage with some mixed vegetables. Last night they were in a sauce that is best described as a sticky, gluey bbq sauce that I have never experienced there in the past. There was just a tiny amount of sautéed cabbage though I was grateful for it as a palate cleanser. One piece of sweet plantain, in all fairness, I did order the small versus a large order. The rice was unpleasant with that dark, sticky sauce already stirred into it so there was no escaping it. (Today I took an entire pint of leftover white rice from a previous oriental meal and stirred it into Norah's rice to make it at least edible though still not delicious like it used to be.) I am extremely disappointed Norah seems to have changed her beef oxtails brown gravy recipe. For me ... it completely changed my opinion about her beef oxtails. I miss how it used to taste.

I ordered 4 items: Oxtail dinner Curry goat roti Oxtail empanada Oxtail& Mac& cheese egg roll The oxtail was the star of the show. The goat was a close second. In my opinion, the oxtail is best savored in dinner rather than in appetizer form. Next time I'm trying jerk chicken some kind of seafood.

It had blackened steak bites, fresh pico, and cheddar jack cheese, served inside crispy lettuce wraps with a side of their special rice. It was flavorful, however the juices were a little messy, but worth it. I also ordered the Spicy Cheeseburger Nachos ($19) to share. Good seasoning on the beef with jalapeños and onions, but note that it didn't come with sour cream or guac like traditional nachos but the cheese was layed. I washed everything down with a diet coke ($3.50). Service was ok, a little slow and it wasn't that busy. But no real complaints. The inside was huge and was a nice bar area and seating area in the back large enough for a dance floor. I have no doubt this place gets back. Loved the food, it was really that good, and would be back if I am in the area.
