Texas Roadhouse always has some good food. It's always busy when we go here, so expect a wait, even sometimes with call ahead seating. The peanuts are nice snack while waiting though. First off love the rolls/buns with the cinnamon butter! Then I always get the salad with ranch, probably one of my favorite salads I get. My most recent trip here I got a sirloin with shrimp and a baked potato, all were very tasty. My wife got the chicken fried chicken another good choice. The place is a bit noisy and crowded but the food is good. The beers are always cold here, it's kind of cheesy with all the dances and things they do, but it's a lively atmosphere. read more

The business hours are inconvenient, it's very loud in the restaurant, it's kind of pricey, and it's always crowded so the wait times are pretty long. Such incredibly fast service. We couldn't even think of needing something. The waitress would bring a new water when our glass was below half. We didn't feel like they were rushing us out at all, but we ate an appetizer, steak and chicken dinner and we were finished in 40 minutes! We were blown away at the amazing service! I have to say one of the best things about this place is their yummy buttery rolls with the cinnamon butter. They are absolutely to die for! My family came out to eat for my dads birthday and I just want to note that for small groups the place is ok. If you have a party of 22 then I would go else where. This place is not set up in a friendly way for huge groups. You can sit next to your group but not at the same table as they are unable to accommodate. Also if you have kids and the kids all sit at a different table then the adults, the waitress will not combine your bill with your kids. I thought that was odd and not very customer friendly. You are not even able to order your kids meal from your table. I feel that management should have a better setup for this. My family ordered a variety of things from the menu. The BBQ chicken is absolutely yum, the prime rib not great...it came out really dry. A few of us got some steaks and if you like yours more on the pink side err to the mire rarer side. Texas Roadhouse! Yes, the chain restaurant that almost everyone knows and loves. We came here for just a big family dinner with everyone. The wait was a fairly lengthy, approximately 30 minutes; just imagine an Olive Garden visit on a weekend with dozens of families waiting outside with pagers. They are pretty accommodating with our "large" group (9 people), they have loads of seating and pretty great steakhouse atmosphere. The decor, the staff, everything is on point for their theme. The food is always good and predictable (the standard chain taste) which is not necessarily a con, but just a note. For those who don't know, just don't expect a high end steakhouse quality meal, it is still a chain with standardized preparations. We love TX Roadhouse! It's the only place we go for steak, unless we're feeling the need to spend a ton of money. The Ft Worth Ribeye is priced at $14.99 and has so much flavor that it's almost always worth a higher priced meal. My usual: Sirloin or Ft Worth mid-rare, baked potato with only butter & the buttered corn. Perfect. Try the Peach Iced Tea. Absolutely fantastic. Always fresh and ice cold, perfectly sweet. Staff is always friendly, attentive and the food comes out fast and hot. We've never had a bad visit. Sometimes you'll catch up to a 40 minute wait, but there's a reason and it's because the food is worth the wait. The music is a little loud for my taste, and it's country which I don't like, but it adds to the ambience. It's a peanut throwing, loud, steak & beer kind of place but it is so good. We came early (right before 5pm) because we knew there'd be a line. But we got right in without a wait. Once we finished their large waiting area was packed. Ribs were awesome! The sides were great and service was fast and polite. Family friendly. The seating arrangement makes it feel like a smaller restaurant because each area is at a different level or walled off, which is kind of nice. Time after time people waiting lined up in front of our booth to place an order with bartenders at the end of bar and interrupting our dinner. This seemed to be a standard practice. If I remember correctly from my previous visit to this location a few years back, this place used to serve delicious food with enthusiasm from servers. Not anymore. I totally understand that this place is always busy. But, it always has been no matter what! So what's changed recently?!? Every single dish was salty. It seems they have forgotten how to make delicious food, so they just added more salt?!? Everything was salty. Steak, fries, corn, everything! Oh wait, not the drinks! We ordered 12 oz ribeye, kebab, kids meals (chicken breast and steak bites). Kids could not swallow a single steak bite because it was chewy. The ribeye steak wasn't too bad other than being salty. But after the whole meal, my mouth went numb because everything was so salty! The service wasn't particularly bad or anything but no enthusiasm whatsoever. Tried ordering online today starting at 2:00 pm off and on and the website was down and wouldn't accept payment. Finally called to place an order at the Urbandale, Iowa location at 4:30 pm for a 16oz prime rib and they said the earliest for pickup was 7pm. Said that was fine and placed the order. Got a call at 6:10 saying that they were all out of prime rib and wouldn't be able to fulfill the order. I asked if they would replace with a T-bone at the same price. Said they couldn't do it. Told them to forget the order altogether. OK, no big deal to them. How's that for customer service! Also, the West Des Moines location no longer lists prime rib or T-bones on their menu. Cool atmosphere here. I ordered a ribeye steak which tasted ok. The staff was very friendly and attentive the entire evening. Not the best steakhouse I've been to, but to be honest, I was expecting something a little better as I was in beef country. The peanut room to the right of the main entrance was cool. Located near the interstate in Johnston, Texas Roadhouse is casual fast food. I had low expectations given the loud and cramped feeling of the dining area. I ordered the 6oz sirloin with ribs while my companion ordered the grilled chicken portabella sauce entree. With low expectations I was impressed by the quality of the steak. The ribs were "fall off the bone" but felt they lacked bbq flavor. Service was very efficient despite being very busy. The music was loud and occasionally staff breaks out into clapping to a song. Cheesy yes so this isn't a fine dining establishment. But if you are looking for a step above fast food for decent value this is an option. this is our go to for birthday dinner's with our family of 6. We always have a great meal, great service and a great time. This time (9/24, 6:30PM reservation under Jenny S.) our bone in rib eye was atlantic ocean salty. Never had this before so I'm thinking it was an accident. When we brought it up to our server, she didn't really know what to do or say. They took $8 off our $27 steak without offering to at least recook it. Just disappointed. I'm still not sure how I feel about the Texas Road House. The Texas-sized portions are generous as are the drinks. The atmosphere is "fun" - if your idea of fun is a loud crowded restaurant. The food is passable; certainly nothing gourmand, but edible. All entrees come with your choice of two sides - I had the side salad which was excellent. Full of veggies and some of the better croutons I've ever had! The female waitstaff dances around to Cotton Eye Joe every so often which I found both sexist and ageist. Perhaps that is me being a fuddy duddy - but I don't need my meals to be accompanied by jumping and dancing high school aged girls. Super busy location even at 3pm. I was surprised that we were able to be seated right away with a party of 5. First location I have seen that didnt have peanut shells all over the place. Felt very welcomed and comfortable here. I decided to be different and order fish at a steak place. I wasn't sure what I should be expecting, but I was very surprised at how delicious it was. I like the food from Texas Roadhouse but I find the atmosphere highly obnoxious simply because it's loud and the restaurant is poorly designed to accommodate people. There is a very narrow walkway between the to-go desk, host stand and four feet away is a prep area where the staff pickup these appetizer rolls. My number one complaint about this place is this gauntlet of people all trying to get seated, pick-up to-go food and staff buzzing around in a very small space. Once you're seated the music and everything else is very loud and their birthday song is very annoying and you'll hear it several times. Because of all of this I always get my food to-go. Generally the staff tries to do their best to get things moving in an efficient manner. I've generally have good service for dine-in. When ordering to-go there is a recording on the phone that sounds like it was recorded by a rodeo clown who's suffered brain damage. Make sure that when you get food to go you inspect everything especially condiments and sides to make sure that nothing was omitted because that can happen from time to time. Out of 10 times eating there in the past year the food was great 8 out of those 10 times. Not melt in your mouth like a ribeye should be. I got a side salad and asked for Italian dressing. The dressing was sweet, Italian isn't sweet, Balsamic dressing is sweet. Nuff said. This was my third visit and the first time I had a waitress that seemed like she cared and knew what was going on. I actually really liked her. She was knowledgeable about the menu and how steak should be cooked by preference. Refreshing and made me wish she worked at one of my favorite haunts. I know it's a chain restaurant and I shouldn't expect much. But they have such a following I do expect more. I did however love the peanuts amazing! WOW!!! This Texas Roadhouse has gotten it right!!! A+++ I've had a horrible experience at a TRH before... and my experience tonight changed my mind about all Texas Roadhouses! The parking lot was full, yet we were seated promptly! We were greeted with a polite smile and a cheerful attitude! The entire night our water glasses were never empty! Our food was cooked properly! And I'm VERY picky about how my steak is cooked... they got it right on! I'm very picky about how loud an establishment is... and this one has learned where the sound level needs to be!!! My wife did ask for them to turn the sound down a hair... they did more then that! The sound level of the entire restaurant lowered because of that, which made for a more enjoyable environment. I asked to speak with a high level manager, Nigel, our waitress Casey & the lady we asked to turn down the music at the same time. We thanked them all for our wonderful experience & service! Once they bring your order out - the hostess or waitress goes through the entire order with you to make sure that they didn't miss anything. Our order has usually been perfect. Now that I tried this place for dinner, I need to provide an update. We had 4 adults and 3 kids. As busy as the place was, the wait wasn't too bad. Our waitress was friendly. She got our drinks and salads out in a timely manner. Now for the main course, a few hickups. A brief breakdown of the 4 adult plates. 20 oz med rare ribeye came out well done. The prime rib dinner came out with a plain baked potato instead of mashed potatos and gravy. A 12 Oz Filet came out with a plain baked potato instead of loaded. Another 12 oz med rare filet came out well. So that means all 4 adult dinners were screwed up. My buddy's wife for some reason decided to chew on her well done filet. I had to send my ribeye back. That pretty much ruined my whole dinner, because I ate my loaded baked potato while waiting for it to return. It was way longer than it should have been. I had no appetite when it showed back up. Another little issue was that after we finished our adult beverages, the waitress never asked us if we would like another, or even brought us water. So the last 20 to 30 min of dinner a couple of us had no beverages. I guess I'll have to only come at lunch if I decide to stop by again. Doesn't seem like they have dinner dialed in. read more

Never had a bad experience til this happened to me tonight , I ordered a grilled BBQ chicken with a baked potato , and fries . My waitress brought over my food and I started eating my chicken and when I got to my baked potato I ate til I was about in the middle and this black thing comes out and I pull it out and it's cooked mold ! I hope I don't end up with food poisoning! And I hope they investigate every potato now before cooking it just cause theirs a little spot of mold doesn't mean it isn't all the way inside the food , if theirs mold throw it away! We used to eat here at least twice a month, food is usually pretty good, good price and friendly service. We get carry out from them almost every week since the Covid 19. Just ate there recently after they opened for dine in, service was good, food was ok then I found a piece of hair in my Chili, we notified the waitress, she then apologized. She said she will let the manager know, which the manager never stopped by to say anything to us. First experience at this restaurant last week for a family celebration. Place was packed on a Thursday night with over 30 people waiting for tables, but was still able to get a seat for a party of 7 within 20 minutes. At the front near the hostess station was a glass case displaying cuts of beef, but you could barely see the cuts as it was used as a leaning-post for the staff waiting to seat arriving customers. I witnessed 4 staff members resting their backsides against the display at one time. A shame, considering the chef had some nice cuts on display. Our booth/table was clean (pet peeve) as were the silverware and the steak knives were sharp (very important for a steakhouse). Getting to the table, or the restroom, was a challenge. There are troughs attached to the dividers between the bar and dining area full of silverware, etc. When the waitstaff would stop to retrieve items out of those troughs it would cause a traffic jam as people were being seated or trying to find the restroom. The floors were filthy. I understand it's a steakhouse where you can throw your peanut shells on the floor, but there was garbage on the floor as well. Wooden floors would be much better than old, worn-out carpet. Music was too loud, which caused people to have to shout just to talk to one another. Our party loved the fresh, warm rolls and cinnamon butter, as well as the cactus blossom. The sauce for the cactus blossom was gritty though. I had the 3-3oz filet with portabella sauce, house salad, seasoned rice and fresh seasonal veggies. The salad was fresh and tasty. The broccoli and carrots were fresh and cooked perfectly. The steak was med-rare, but I asked for med and one of the 3 filet medallions were ripped almost in half. I assume to check the "doneness" of the steak. It was still tasty. The rice can best be described as being "off". Not fresh, had odd taste and only took one bite. Overall, the plate had poor presentation. Just thrown together. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and was quick to satisfy our needs. Though, he was very busy, only took away empty glasses and our app dishes were never removed from the table. It appears he was overwhelmed, as the place was extremely busy. Perhaps they could utilize the staff resting their backsides on the meat case to assist their waitstaff. Overall, the prices on the menu were lower than expected, the focus seems to be on higher turnover at the expense of food quality, presentation and service. read more

Meh. This Texas Roadhouse isn't what it used to be. We were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. It was my daughter's birthday and she's a member of the birthday club (free appetizer or sidekick of ribs) we ordered the Cactus Blossom for the appetizer. When it came out, it was at least cooked through (we have been here before, and the batter is not cooked in the middle of the onion) just really greasy. We both ordered the same cut, 16 oz. Fort Worth ribeye ($23 each), and ordered them medium. My ribeye was grey and completely over cooked, whereas my daughter's was undercooked and blue rare/raw. The sides of broccoli were cold, and we both ordered a sidekick of ribs, that were the best part of the meal. Our server was hard to find, and when we finally found her, she offered to have both steaks remade. My daughter had her's, and it came out over cooked. The manager came over and said she'd take care of it, and by taking care of it, was to give us an $8 discount. Texas Roadhouse is a steakhouse and they should know how to cook a steak, but that isn't the case the last few times we've been here. It's on a steady decline, and not worth the 35 mile drive.
