This was mine and my husband's go-to place for about a year. It started out great, but as the year went on, the quality of the waitstaff and the alcoholic drinks deteriorated. Maybe they thought we looked young so they thought they could get away with giving us lower quality drinks. The last few times we went, we had to send back the drinks that weren't the quality we used to expect from our favorite restaurant. It has been about 6 months since we have been, and I don't see us trying them again any time soon. The only reason they got two stars instead of 1 is because the food was always good quality. We love Texas Roadhouse and frequent them in various cities.. as a parent of a TTU student we have dined here the last 3 times we have visited and our son has dined there inbetween our visits.. I have to say we won't be going back to the Lubbock location and all because of a continual cooking issue- every single time we order filet cooked to order medium it is blood red in the middle and we have tried to go medium well and it is cooked over each time.. it is unfortunate because other cuts such as sirloin don't have this same issue when ordered.. but this last visit I asked our waiter how this can be resolved and he was apologetic and tried to explain the difference in their two cooks, but that unfortunately isn't helpful enough. Because each time we have to send the steak back- this has happened atleast 6 times in 6 mths. So I have finally realized that we have to go to other places for steak while in Lubbock. What a shame, other than that huge issue service and such is fine. read more

Would come here about once or twice a month because the food is good, but a very negative recent experience means I'll not be returning here. Was denied using a coupon when it was completely valid in my most recent visit. After finally agreeing to pay for items I should not have. My server who had been absent for close to an hour took away the rest of food and beer without my consent. I'm happy to say I will not be returning to a place run like this. read more

I LOVE beef...I had been looking forward to coming back to TX for the best. There are several Texas beef places like Roadhouse. I had my hopes up for a nice thick juicy rib-eye cooked to Med Rare to perfection...nice and marbled. Unfortunately for me, my rib eye was thin and overcooked...medium well is what I got. My husband had a nicer and thicker cut of rib-eye and my son had the 6 oz sirloin and he enjoyed his. So what happened to mine? I think it had something to do the thin-ness of this cut of meat. Should I have brought this to my wait-person's attention? Yeah, probably. But, I didn't....I was hoping for that juicy morsel of medium rare beef with every bite all the way to the last piece. Now what? Do I complain after I've eaten the whole piece of meat? If they brought me a new one, I would be too full to eat it. That would be an embarassment. So, I said nothing and dwelled instead on the dinnertime conversation. And ate my baked potato. BTW, my son's side of green-beans were overcooked and his other vegetables were of the pre-frozen packaged variety. The bread was great, everything else was nothing special. One of the most filthiest places I've even been to. Food not to bad just have to get past the filthy tables, walls and silverware. The peanut buckets both looked and smelled like puke buckets, I can't believe this place hasn't been closed by the health department. First time ever at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. The manager Mike brought us samples of their chili since we hadn't been there before. He also was very informative and welcoming. Awesome service from our waitress Destiny. I had a ribeye and it was the best steak I've had in a chain restaurant ever. Cooked perfectly and great quality. Ate here Sunday night, 9/24/17. Atmosphere was ok but the music was way too loud. I must be getting old. One of the managers came and introduced himself and I couldn't hear a word he said. Service was fair but not outstanding. Ate the pork chop and steak fries. Pork chop was great but the fries tasted like they had been sitting a while. Good thing they serve free peanuts and bread. Wonderful food and amazing service! Even on a very busy Saturday we were seated rather quickly as soon as a table came available in the bar. We don't mind sitting in the bar plus my husband loves all the TVs. We were waited on by a bartender rather than a waiter which was great. This guy had personality for days and was attentive but not overbearing. Everything came out hot and ready to eat and our steaks were cooked perfectly. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good steak and a good night out. We have been once before were our poor waitress seemed so flustered and overwhelmed when we came in at 3:00 but we decided to give it another try. And we are glad we did :) read more

This place is wayyyyyyyyyyy over rated. So, people who are reading these reviews that have never been, don't get your hopes up. Expect a mediocre steak, nothing bad nothing great. Oh and call ahead or prepare to wait 2 hours to have a average steak. I would suggest cagles, triple j, hell even outback is better. If this is the best steakhouse you have ever been to then I wonder where the hell have you been trying steaks at? Get out and explore. I can name at least 5 in Lubbock that blow it away. Had lunch with Dad here last Saturday. We got there early, 11:30, to beat the rush and both ordered the larger sized Ft. Worth rib eye. Sometimes this place can be hit or miss, this day it was perfect! The salad was crisp, the sides were spot on, and those steaks were AWESOME! Very super disappointed with this trip. We asked specifically for water with lemon, and she gave us our waters without a lemon! I was very excited to see a Texas Roadhouse in Lubbock, having been to them in Colorado! Greeters were nice, and I arrived around 5pm, so was seated pretty quickly. The peanuts are always fun, and the bread with the cinnamon butter is amazing! I went pretty simple and just ordered a sirloin steak, with mashed potatoes and corn and it was all good. The steak had a very simple salt/pepper seasoning, and it was very flavorful, but not overdone. I ordered the early dinner special so the steak was a 6oz portion, which looked really small when my plate arrived, but was a perfect size for me that night. I ordered the potatoes "loaded" which was fine, but in retrospect, they didn't need the extras. Probably wouldn't order it that way again. My waitress was nice overall...had a little sense that she wasn't thrilled to be there (which I get, it's work and all) but nothing major with her. The early dinner special was about $10 for a 6 oz steak and 2 sides, which made for a good dinner. read more

Great place to treat a friend or co-worker. I have been 4 times and all 4 times have been great. I love their dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter and they have buckets of peanuts to snack on while you wait. Nice menu for a sit-down restaurant. Lots of good and bad with this place. Went with a party of 7 that included a person in a wheelchair. While they seated us quickly - despite the place being absolutely packed - it was extremely difficult to get to and from the table. The layout of this place makes no sense as the wait stations are in the middle of just about every walkway in the place, plus you have customers who seemed to be waiting to be seated just kind of milling around. Hard enough for someone who can walk to squeeze thru, but very, very difficult for the person in the wheelchair. As for the food everyone had the steaks except for myself. I ordered the tri-tips and rice. While it was nice to have the option of having the the meat cooked the way you wanted (and it was good) the "sauteed" onions were raw and the mushrooms obviously were just an afterthought. Everyone else in my party loved their steaks so overall I would recommend the food. Just be aware that the place is not very friendly for those who have a hard time getting around. read more
