I'll have to take a star back. Pretty good food but can be packed most of the time and services starts to lack. I've been to other jam packed places that don't have this problem. They need to rethink the floor management cause at times I simply think they tend to have a lot of staff but just in the wrong places. I had a great lunch here, my first time in Macon,GA. They start you out with some delicious warm rolls with that butter that you wish you could buy. We just finished eating here on Father's Day. They did a fabulous job. We were seated within 30 min with bread on the table, drinks and appetizer followed in just a few minutes. Went for my daughters birthday dinner as this is where she chose. Excellent in that when the hostess seats you she brings a basket of rolls so we were off to a good start. All of the meals and apps we ordered were delicious and we needed 3 boxes out of 5 meals for take home leftovers, plenty of food. Our waitress was awesome. Shelbyanne was on top of it and a genuine person that wasn't fake at all. She was like talking to a family member and kept drinks filled and plates moving. Talked to Matt Lane, the owner while we ate and had a nice conversation with him. On a side note he is very supportive our athletic department at our school and donates plenty of goods and services. Had the worst experience yesterday! Ordered a WELL done steak and shrimp with no pink and it bleed when I cut into it after sending it back twice. Finally said give me some fish instead and it was hard. My best friend ordered grilled chicken and it was cold after sending her steak back TWICE! Still charged me for the the food I didnt really eat because at this time we were frustrated, just ready to leave. Took off the steak finally but that was it! No apology, nothing. This place is awful. We had bugs on our table and the manager showed no concern in accommodating to our problems. The server we had was good, but the restaurant is a major fail. I'm being generous giving this 1 star, if I could do lower, TRUST I would. We only received %20 percent off our bill at then end when food was half done and incorrect. Eat at your own risk. I really wanted to give TR a 5-star review but they've messed up my take-out for the third time now. At first, I was giving them the benefit of doubt considering they'd adjusted their take-out process because of COVID. However, when I order online and pay extra for an item (adding marshmallows to my sweet potato or adding a side salad), I expect to receive it - not just because I paid for it but because I actually wanted it for dinner. This last time I called back and the person I spoke with said, "We're so sorry about that" and pretty much hung up without any resolution. Very disappointed in the food. I got the bone-in ribeye, the most expensive steak in the menu. I ordered it "medium." 1) The steak was thin, full of gristle, and the bone was huge. The bone must've made up the lion share of the weight value; minus the fat and gristle, there was relatively little meat. 2) The steak was not grilled to "medium", but "well-done" with no pink, except at the bone. It was dry, and barely even warm! 3) The steamed broccoli side was warm, but not hot. It was overdone and mushy. The cup of chili was warm enough, but not hot. 4) The server wasn't talkative or helpful. I asked where the sides were on the menu, but she wasn't really listening, and I found them myself. She did repeat my order and had it correct. That was the most conversation she made. The timeliness of service was fine. Quit quick, actually. From the time my order was placed, my food was delivered in about 12-14 minutes. Nonetheless, the quality of the food was far below the standard of quality of Texas Roadhouse. I've had better steak at Waffle House! And that's just sad! I'm thoroughly disgusted with the whole experience. read more

Dirtiest restrooms I have been in a while. So bad I made my family leave. The menus and booth were dirty as well. I told our server and she said oh it's the hostess job but they never clean them. I will start off by saying the food was good and the steak was great. The 2 star is for the service from the server. It was my birthday and my wife expected the server to be more attentive , but she was virtually non-existent. We had to ask other servers for assistance. After we had paid, my wife confronted the server to express her displeasure with her lack of service . The server responds with, " I'm done with you now, will you leave now ". WTF! I'm in the middle with these folks and trending downward. This place is close to my office and myself and other people from my office generally eat here at least once a week. Lately it seems as if they don't know how to cook a steak. Used to be they could nail a "medium" steak, no problem. Not so much lately, though. This is THE most common steak fire in the USA, but 3 of my last 4 visits and 5 of my last 7, they have managed to only deliver a Medium Rare at best. Yeah, sure, the manager will come to your table and listen to you bitch, but will NEVER offer to reduce your billing. And don't bother to send it back for refire, because by the time it returns to the table, you will have eaten your potato down to the skin and your salad to the bottom of the bowl. If the waitstaff can describe a medium cook to you when you order - "a little pink in the middle" - the why in godsakes can't the friggin' cook deliver it? Ordered appetizers that never arrived but the waitress still attempted to charge us for them. While driving from Atlanta to Florida, we needed a place to stop and eat dinner. Using Chili's as a reference point, we came upon Texas Roadhouse and decided to check it out. We were so glad we did. The hostesses suggested we sit at the bar to avoid a wait time. We were greeted by Amanda and Nina, whose service was courteous, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was full of a dynamic crowd: families, friends, date-nights. Country music and smiling faces everywhere. Somebody had a birthday and the staff came out with a rolling saddle and commanded the attention of the whole restaurant to say happy birthday. Halfway through dinner, a special song came on and staff broke out into a synchronized line dance. Needless to say, we were entertained. Their pulled pork dinner was delicious. I paired it with a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. My husband loved his New York strip. It was cooked to perfection. He was very impressed. We sat down and everything was fine to begin with we ordered our appetizers and food and just waited. We never received our appetizers and our food was ok. Last night after driving up to Macon from Warner Robins with a friend, he suggested Texas Roadhouse. I do enjoy BBQ and steak. The main reason for going was my friend had been here before, so, not being one to pre-judge I ventured in.The decor was typical over done southern cowboy style (the wait staff even line-dance and yell "YEA HAW"). The VERY loud overtly cowboy & western music assaulted my ears, the garish decor made my eyes glaze over.. and I haven't even gotten to the food. Our waiter "ROD" was VERY pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and perky. His demeanor was out-going and accommodating. My buddy suggested the friend pickles, which were the best part of the evening. crunchy, tasty and slightly tart (which for a pickle is a compliment). A side salad that was only enhanced by placing the friend pickles into them, was adequate. The yeast rolls were good - you can't go wrong with yeast rolls. Then the main course - in life you often ask yourself in retrospect "WHY?". It was already too loud, people riding horses saddle for their birthdays, and enough country to make a Yankee cry! But the food... where does one start. I ordered the "BLUE RIBBON" ribs, full rack. I had asked Rod if it was possible to have them dry with a side of the sauce (not wanting to try it wet since I wasn't sure if I would like the sauce), with a sweet potato (with cheese and butter, I don't care for the marshmallows and cinnamon). After waiting for the food and having Rod come to our table and remove plates and re-fill our drinks, the food arrived. 1) The sweet potato was cold 2) Although the amount of ribs is a lot more than you could eat, look unpleasant. 3) One bite and I knew it wasn't for me. Now I want to clarify something my friend said last night - "you realize that it might not be the cooks fault, you simply don't care for them". A good point, I'll give you that, but one simply goes into a BBQ "joint" and takes a chance with the food since you have a preconceived notion of how it is going to taste. 4) When i asked for the potato to be re-heated Rod did offer to give me a new one - being that I didn't want to waste food, I just asked him to re-heat it. 10 minutes later my "new" potato arrived, plain. I had to wait another 5 minutes for Rod to come back to ask for Cheese and Butter. (all the while the full onslaught of the flavor from the ribs had hit my palette). 5) After consuming the potato, i looked at those "blue ribbon ribs" and I'd had enough. Getting Rod's attention said that I wasn't happy with the ribs. Well, you'd thought that I had slapped him across the face and called him "Sheila". He was speechless, as if no one had either said anything about them before or whether I had the "bulls" (spelling intentional since this was a cowboy grille", to state such a thing. Seriously, he was floored, he had to take a moment to come back from Kansas (read between the lines) and come too. He asked me if I wanted something else.... 6) I remembered my buddy said something about the burgers. Realizing that we'd spent plenty of time in this "restaurant" I asked for a cheeseburger "to go" and for everything to be on the side. After going through GUT WRENCHING YEA HAWS and line dancing, the food was promptly placed on my table. The young waitress asked me if this ok.... it wasn't... 7) Being that I had asked for the food "to go" and for everything to be placed on the side, the entire burger was prepped and stacked as if I was ready to eat it there an then. Not wanting to believe that I hadn't asked Rod for everything on the side, asked him to come over to our table... I showed him the box, and again, his expression was priceless... "remind me Rod" I said..."did I ask for everything on the side"... He answered yes. By that time it was very late and I wasn't about to go through the explanation and having Rod come back from Kansas (sic) again, took the food and left. Now as I sit here and re-reading through my jaunt through memory lane, I am struck by the lack of believability. The entire place was too loud, to garish and you had to shout to hear the person opposite. I am not going to say that some people wouldn't enjoy this place, but unless you are deaf, no style sense whatsoever, tasteless, or simply grew up eating this style of food, you wouldn't enjoy this place. I didn't realize that they have a night club atmosphere, complete with LOUD music and a shouting band of employees that group together and sing and dance for your "enjoyment". Repeatedly! All this, coupled with bad acoustic design, made the noise level unbearable. The experience was bad enough that we couldn't carry on a conversation and we never made it to the salad! I took my dad out to his favorite restraint and it's wonderful. Atmosphere is great, food Is delicious, prices aren't bad, but most importantly my server was outstanding. Well... Let me start by saying I usually have a great experience at this location and frequently visit at least twice a week. Now I will not be back again. We went to celebrate an event. My daughter is 22 years old. She ordered an alcoholic drink. The lady asked for ID. As soon as my daughter went to hand it to the server, she was shaking her head. She states " I am sorry but I can not serve you a drink." She didn't even touch the license much less look at the date. She says " We have a new policy that states no matter your age, if you have an upright license that you got before you were twenty one, we will not serve you a drink" You have to be kidding me. Nope. Her license does not expire until 2025 and she is not gonna renew before she needs to. Do they realize how much business they are going to lose by refusing to serve alcoholic drinks to people just because they have the upright license if they are 21 and older? My daughters college friends go there at least once a week. Which they won't be anymore. This is a bad company decision to enforce this crazy policy. In the long run it will affect the bottom dollar in a very negative way. read more

I have been to other Texas Roadhouse restaurants in my business travels and they are all very similar in the consistency that they provide. The concept that they base their service on is similar to that of Outback with the exception that the offer more drink and food specials. During my visit to this Macon location I have to say that the service that I experienced from Stephanie at the bar (which is where I had dinner) was absolutely spectacular. read more
