We were actually impressed with this location of Texas Roadhouse. It's been years since I visited a T.R as I usually do not visit chain restaurants. Last minute impulse as we were in the area and gave it a go. Kinda of a lively place for 4:30 on a football Sunday. We were seated right away and two baskets of the best rolls were immediately brought to the table. No lie my kids couldn't stop eating them as they were so good. I paired my half slap of bbq ribs with a tall Pilsner. The ribs were delicious. Even more so the beer was ice cold. I had to have another. Overall we were pleased with T.R . Service was wonderful for 7 adults and 4 children 10 and under. Food was exceptional for a chain steak house. I personally had the best Italian salad dressing I've ever tasted along with excellent mixed vegetables. Every meal served was very good as noted by all of us and that never happens. The service people were very friendly. I sat at the bar, agreed to a 16 ounce cup of sprite while waiting. They brought out a Caesar side salad for the man next to me. It was abundant, crisp and fresh looking. I received my takeout food, 3 piece fried catfish with a baked sweet potato and a, yup, CAESAR SALAD. I carried it back to my hotel room. The catfish was very crispy with little flavor, the sweet potato, luck of the draw I guess, little flavor. The Caesar salad was a wilted tiny mess. Fried pickles were hot and fresh and well made -- not overly breaded; allowing the pickle to shine. Steak came promptly, cooked to my order and properly done. Sides were flavorful and well prepared. My beer glass looked clean when the fog lifted... the place was not loud, or at least no louder than a chain typically is... everyone was nice... seems like the bad reviews are older ones. This spot just opened 7 days ago but you wouldn't know that to stop here. Everything was running smooth as if it's always been there. We sat at the bar for this visit and then something crazy happened. An employee asked us if we wanted a free combo meal. We ended up ribs, ribeye, shrimp, sirloin, baked sweet potato, fries, cup of chili and grilled mushrooms/onions. The food did not disappoint as Texas Roadhouse has never failed me when it comes to consistency. I will say that they do have a few too many chairs at the bar area. We've been hesitant to try this TR location because they just opened and the reviews have been mixed as they get up and running. My husband and I went for dinner last Saturday evening. We joined the waitlist via the website and arrived in the window of time. We were told we had just a few more min till our table was ready so we sat at the bar to grab a drink. Bartenders Tristen and Adam were friendly and efficient with our beers. Our table was ready but we decided to stay put and eat at the bar. The staff and other patrons around us were friendly and a playoff game was on. I asked for and followed Tristen's recommendations. My caesar salad, sirloin (with mushrooms and onions added) as well as mashed potatoes and gravy were all very good. My husband was happy with his ribeye, broccoli and chili. He's got an infectious energy making everyone in the room feel welcome and excited to be there. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel like old friends. We had dinner at the Mansfield Ohio location. Our server, Savannah was great really good and a nice server. She pretty much made the experience the best because after that and everything else was horrible. When we first arrived, it was very confusing between the hostesses and seating. We asked for no onions and They put onions all over the burgers. I'm glad we weren't allergic to them because they were underneath the burger. The manager ( I believe her name was kaitlyn) She never introduced herself. She went to other surrounding tables asking how everything was but skipped ours. She looked as she hated her job. We were there close to closing time so waitstaff were doing their side work. One towel wipes EVERYTHING, tables,chairs,booths, light fixtures & FOOD BOTTLES(hot sauce, steak sauce). Not naming staff, takes lid off bottle, sprays bottle cap with same blue spray used for tables! Then proceeds to use dirty towel used for cleaning table & wipes the bottle necks & inside caps. The carside pick-up is just a very inefficient system for the parking lot set up. If you want to offer a service where people don't have to get out of the car, just offer curbside where the customer parks and the worker brings it to their car. read more

We received the worse service we ever experienced at a Texas Roadhouse. Too bad it had to be during our visit to Mason. We used the call ahead seating and when we arrived we were told it would only be 30-minutes. Instead, we waited over 90-minutes for our table. Then when we finally got waited on, it was another 20-minutes to get our salads. When we requested additional rolls, they were out and we had to wait again. Drinks also took awhile. The food was good but by the time we were done it was well over two hours overshadowing the good food we received. This restaurant serves cold, badly prepared food and has terrible meat quality if you get one of the budget entrees. My wife got an appetizer platter; the loaded potato wedges were burnt and hard. One person at the table got ribs that looked cold and dried out. Another person got a small sirloin that was dry, grey as ash and stone cold with cold fries. I ordered the beef kabob entree - the first one brought to the table was overdone (I ordered medium and every piece was grey.) The second redone kabob had good color but I spit out several pieces of steak that I couldn't chew and I couldn't even cut through other pieces which had sinew and fiber - inedible. The manager offered to comp the kabob dinner with a return trip coupon but I pressed for a cash refund instead because I have no reason to return. the place is clueless ... we went in tonight at 1025pm so needless to say not busy ... we go in there a lot and the service manager kayla told us if we ''ever'' wanted to eat outside and then tell me noooo .. to tell them kayla said to let us sit outside .. so the rules are outdoor dining after 5 friday saturday and sunday .... so we go in tonight .. saturday night place is maybe 25% full and no one outside on the patio ..so we said we would like to eat out on the patio ... they said its closed... now its 70 degrees and a beautiful night ... so we asked to talk to the manager .. he comes out and apologizes that we cant sit outside ... so i say which is it kayla says we can . you say we cant ? no one is outside? place is not busy .. servers all over and they say we cant sit in a seat about 15 feet from where we are talking ... and whats whats funny is the male manager tonight has seen us in there many many times .. sometimes has stood for 15 minutes talking to us .. so needless to say we will not be back .. bad thing is the servers are so nice and will lose money it their pockets since the managers cant agree ... but that was our last visit to the roadhouse ... we will be longhorn diners from now on.... if you have never tried the desserts at longhors try the 2 pieces of chocolate cake and 2 big coops of ice cream with whipped cream for $10 ..... We ate here last Sunday. The food was excellent. Our waitress was prompt and courteous. But the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Even our waitress had to keep asking what we said. We asked if they could turn it down. They did, but then turned back up. Asked again and someone came out and said that is Roadhouse tradition. Not near as loud at other locations we ate at. Tonight I had the absolute worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant. I was with a party of three other people. We all ordered our meals. Two ordered filet steak. I ordered their 14 oz ribeye medium rare. When I received my streak our wait person asked how everything was before we had a chance to cut into our steak. After she left I cut into my steak and discovered it was cooked to at least medium well if not well done. It was quite a while before our wait person came by again. My table mates had already eaten half of their meals but I sent my steak back. By the time the manager strolled out with my replacement everyone else had completely finished their meals. I told the manager it was ridiculous that it took so long to receive a replacement steak and that he should just take it back. He essentially refused and said he would comp my meal. I told him he should provide dessert for the table because of the inconvenience my friends were being subjected too. We all thought he agreed to that but when the wait person stopped by I asked about the dessert I thought the manager promised. She replied that the manager told her he was comping my meal and that was all. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on my and my table mates part but we all thought he promised dessert for the table. At that point I took the plate off the table and handed it to the waiter and told her to give it back to the manager. She then lectured me about my "shoving" the plate in her face and then that she was 23 years old and didn't have to put up with that and she handed the plate back without taking it. I didn't "shove" the plate in her face, I handed it to her at waist level. I don't believe it was even forceful but was merely making it clear that I was unhappy with the situation mainly having to wait for my meal so long that everyone else was finished with theirs. I realize that this place just opened, but there are a lot of issues that need to be fixed in the service area. We visited on Sunday night. It wasn't too busy, but there were a decent amount of people there. We had a party of 6, including a baby and a 5 year old. We requested a sling at the hostess station for the baby's car seat. Once we were seated, they did not bring a sling nor did they give us a child's menu with crayons. We asked the waitress for both. She brought us the sling, but no child's menu or crayons. We ordered our drinks, which came out fast. The only problem with the drinks is that two of us had sweet tea and asked for refills, but they ran out of sweet tea! They also did not have regular tea available. We ordered replacement drinks instead. Here's where things go south. After we ordered our food, we sat for an hour waiting. The waitress only visited our table once with refills and to give us more bread. We didn't get updates on our food and she never came back for us to ask about our salad. It never came. Others around us were getting food and what seemed to be decent service. We got really hungry and the kids were getting restless. Finally, an hour later our food arrived, except for mine. Still no salad. The waitress went back to the kitchen to check. Meanwhile a manager stopped by to see how we were doing. We told her that my food, including my salad never arrived. They returned with the salad and explained that the waitress forgot to put my order in. Another manager came back and said that my meal would be comped. Once my food arrived, it was ok. The mashed potatoes were cold and not loaded as I had ordered The steak was not bad. My husband's burger looked good but he ended up only eating half of it. He said it wasn't great. Our check came but it included a charge for my meal, so we had to tell the waitress that the manager said that we would not be charged for it. It took longer than we expected to get that fixed. Overall, this is not the legendary service that we expect from Texas Roadhouse. It was sadly disappointing but could be easily fixed with little effort. The restaurant overall is clean. It needs some major improvements in service. read more
