A couple years back when I was given a drink with glass in it, and bartenders were very nasty about it (claimed they had broken a glass 2 hours ago over the ice and no one else complained) it was really disturbing. Had to go to great lengths to get it addressed out of concern for anyone ingesting glass. I kept coming back despite some really weird experiences, but when a very big rough guy entered bar and was incredibly threatening and insulting towards me as I tried to eat in peace, I responded loudly in kind because I felt very threatened. Interesting no one had my back or acknowledged what happened. He even made a point of making abusive comments as I left. Yet when I came back whatever bs story was told involved me being the issue. Same bartender who was fine serving me glass and had attitude toward me from day one the one close by, so no surprises. The atmosphere is lively and fun, and the staff is friendly enough, making it a comfortable spot for a family dinner. That said, the last couple of times we've visited, the food hasn't been as good as we've come to expect. I believe this location is the newest in the Phoenix Metro area. It's an ideal location due to the stadiums being near by. Not to mention the eventual opening of the Vai resort and mattel adventure park. Sporting events, concerts being in a lot of in towners. Which makes this Texas Roadhouse unique, in my opinion. Steaks are good if a bit overly lean. cooked exactly as I requested. ok choice of sides. service is always good, but I really wish they would ask before giving you the overly sweet rolls. Also the odd way they always ask how you are as they take you to your seat kind of gets old. This was our first time at this Texas Roadhouse location we came here thanks to their 2pm opening time (an hour earlier than the others in the area) for a Thursday afternoon at opening it was busy. Numerous cars of people waiting at 1:55 for the doors to open. Trust me it's worth it. We were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. Anna was the only bartender serving not only the bar where I was at but also bar tables and making drinks for the entire restaurant. I visited this restaurant with mixed feelings about the service policy/Phx, AZ. On arrival, one member of our party was running slightly late, and instead of allowing us to be seated and enjoy drinks while waiting, we were firmly instructed to wait at the entrance. This was particularly frustrating as there were clearly open tables available. The front desk young lady was quite impolite when asked to explain the "policy," simply pointing and tapping at the policy card posted on the wall. The policy not only seemed rigid but also lacked the common courtesy of making guests comfortable.While we were still waiting at the entrance, I saw two other ladies come in and get seated at a table where people were already waiting for them. This clearly shows the restaurant can seat a partial party when tables are open. When we asked the front-desk staff how that was allowed under the same policy, they could not give an answer. That inconsistency, combined with the earlier rudeness, made us leave and choose another restaurant instead.Another issue I observed was two young ladies from the front desk/entry area eye-rolling and shaking their heads in a sarcastic, ironic way -- behavior that should never be visible to customers.The experience left a sour note and completely overshadowed what could have been a pleasant afternoon. Restaurants should prioritize guest comfort, especially when tables are available. Husband and I went after a long day at doctor's appointments. Bread came out quickly, salads were excellent and very well done. However, when the "Four piece catfish dinner" with a side of French fries came out, we were shocked. The fish portions were half of what they have been over the years, and the fries were awful - like they were cooked yesterday and warmed up. PLUS, the price was increased substantially from our past visits. When we notified the manager, he too stated that the portions were much smaller. He did offer to give us more, but it had been a long day, so we declined the offer. I'm pretty sure the next time we will head to Surprise for the awesome food at another Texas Restaurant. I haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse in several months. May 6, 2026 I went to the Peoria, AZ location. Upon entry I viewed am appealing ribeye steak that was displayed. So I ordered the 14 0z. ribeye. I paid $30 for the worse possible ribeye. It was about 50% gristle. What a ripoff! I also ordered a garden salad. It was so shredded that I could only eat it with a spoon; very average salad. Their dinner rolls are good WITH plain butter; not that strange butter they provide. There is a restaurant chain that serves an A+ salad. They have never tried to change it because it is excellent. What a disappointment. We spent $100 for 2 adults and a kids meal and got absolute crap. My steak was 50% fat, 20% bone and 30% eatable meat which is insane because it was $33 for my meal alone. My husband's steak was overcooked while mine was basically still moo-ing and yet we both ordered it medium rare? The rolls are dry and so much smaller than they once were and tasted rancid. First of all, use the website or Texas Roadhouse app and get on the waitlist. At 3:45pm on New Year's Eve, the wait was 5-15 minutes. When we arrived I texted "Here" and was told to proceed to the hostess stand and we were promptly seated, ahead of people in the waiting area. By 4:00pm the wait for walk in's was 30-40 minutes and when we left at 4:45pm the wait was 60-90 minutes. USE THE ONLINE WAITLIST! OK, now for the service. Our server was a happy and helpful girl. Great service. I cashed in my free veteran entree coupon today. I ordered the sirloin with 2 sides. The sides were great, but when I got the medium rare sirloin, I could barely cut into it. I wasn't going to make a fuss since the meal was free. The waitress "Jordan" was very adamant that she could take it back. So I let her. The manager "Janelle" actually took the time to come out and make sure that the new piece was suitable, and it was. Guess sometimes there are end cuts and they can be a bit tough.
