I'm so glad I never have to go to this place again. Normally I give an establishment two or three times before I cross them off my list. But the hostess was unbelievable unfriendly she said our wait time would be 15-20 minutes NOT! More like 45-minutes and no apologies or compensation on our $100-plus bill. The food was okay, the seating appalling, the restaurant was not that clean but manageable. Clearly the local Health Department does not go in there often. Texas Roadhouse used to be one of my favorite places to grab food. Lately, the orders are consistently wrong. The steak is over cooked, the potatoes taste like dirt, and they always forget to give you half of your order. I suggest going somewhere else. read more

Our first visit to this restaurant was awesome! The food and service were outstanding Thank You Tristan! We had the boneless pork chop (so tender and flavorful!) and the steak and shrimp. OK, I love a good steak. So I went there for one, Texas style. It should have been a great experience. That was in 2016, so it might be irreverent toay, Once in the door, my brother and me saw the steaks in the bin and were told to take any seat. After getting seated, we were given some peanuts. Over sauleted but OK out of the shell. She just kind of shoved it to us and walked away. Then the "female" came to take our order. She/it was chewing gum with its mouth open. Disgusting, at best. We made our order and figured the experience would surely improve, when we got the food. Then the "thing" brought our chili and crackers. All the time chewing with its mouth open, chewing gum. It was so over salted that it was sent back. The replacements were not much better. Understand that I love well salted foods. Salt and iodine are essential for good health. But this was putrid. We finally our our steaks, which were mediocre, at best. Not cooked well, at all. And delivered by some pig that was still spitting while chewing her gum. Overall, the only positive experience was to see the families and kids there. I just hope they didn't get sick. read more

The last two times we've eaten at Texas Road House we have received subpar food and service. Most recently, the steak salad I ordered arrived w/ steak so cold I thought it had been refrigerated; my husband's pulled pork "tasted like it was a week old" and had no barbecue sauce on it. Since I had read recently about some store closings, I decided to do a little research and learned the company filed chapter 11 bankruptcy in August, 2016 and settled an age discrimination lawsuit w/ the EEOC in March, 2017 for $12 million. These types of setbacks suggest inherent problems in the corporate culture. We have been long-time patrons of the Pocatello Texas Road House, but slow service--as in food arriving late and in shifts--as well as questionable food quality have us rethinking our dining options where TRH is concerned. read more

Used to love going here when I was younger but I came to realize the food and service is awful. I've been here multiple times and each time my food came out cold, or was wrong. Even when I asked for my prime rib to be brought back to the kitchen to warm up they must've put it in the microwave because the edges where fried and dried out while the inside was still cold. read more

I do not know what has changed about the Roadhouse here but you should pass. Head to BW's, Applebee's, Red Lobster, or Chili's. They are all about the same price and at least you will get warm food and staff without a chip on their shoulders that might have bathed in the new millineum. The only reason I gave it 2 stars were the peanuts and bread were good. My family and I used to love coming here now not so much. This place needs a little more hands on management. Out of towner ....went to this place as it was recommended by my sons college roommates. Service was great and food was great tasting for all 7 in our party. You don't brine a rib eye, they're naturally tender! Why are they charging for a Rib Eyed steak and serving cuts that aren't correct? Corporate greed? Generally, I don't keep large chain restaurants at the top of my list because they are plastic, impersonal, and the quality of food is very hit-or-miss. In Pocatello, however, there isn't much beyond the big chains. And the mom and pops haven't impressed me much. That in mind, if I'm looking for a really nice quality dinner, I come to the Roadhouse. I do like a good hunk of meat. This place is fairly new to Poky and it certainly hasn't lost it's novelty on the locals. It's busy at all hours, every day. Waits are common at dinner rush hours. This is Pocatello, so don't even think about going to any restaurant in this town on a Saturday night without expecting a long wait. As far as ambiance goes, it's kitschy, it's tacky, it has plastic cacti. Every hour a certain song plays and the poor unfortunate waitstaff gather in the center of the room to line dance. Granted, this may not seem out of place in Idaho, but I'm originally from Chicago and I feel embarrassed just watching them dance (especially the guys). As far as quality goes, it's surprisingly high. We've diner several times here and have not had any complaints. The Dallas Filet is pleasantly juicy and tender. Price is good for the quality. As a former Chicago girl I know a good rib, and these ribs rank well. We witnessed a table with a single fella get forgotten by his waitress. For those with little buckaroos, the kids menu is reasonable and the drinks are free. Try the bowl of Chili. It's nice and spicy. The waitstaff can be a little slow on busy days, but considering it's a big place, I'm not surprised. Typically they have been friendly to us. Noise level is very high in this restaurant, so don't expect a romantic date. read more

DON'T ORDER ONLINE YOU WON'T GET A REFUND FOR A CANCELLED ORDER. I made an online order of 3 prime rib dinner on 4-21-20. I called the restaurant to verify my order. They told me there was no prime rib so I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. I called a few days later to verify the refund, I was told that it was processing. It is 5-1-20 and I still have not received a refund. I talked with the store owner Josh and he stated that an order was delivered of top sirloin steaks and medallions. The service was okay; seems like our server had a few too many tables, and the hostess station was a bit too over-staffed (c'mon, four?). And when the Montana Grizzlies buses (three of 'em) arrived loaded with college football players, heaven help any other customers hoping to get seated, as all four of our ponytail-wearing young ladies were hovering at the counter batting their baby blues and giggling as though each and every player had just told a witty and slightly bawdy tale. Food was okay, nothing exceptional but also a welcome departure from the fast food that tends to be a cornerstone of a road trip focused on racking up miles with the quickness. A big draw for me is the rolls. They didn't have any rolls today, I was told because the guy who makes the rolls called in sick. Why is there only one guy who knows how to make rolls? The bathroom is the worst bathroom ever in a chain restaurant. Dirty, smelly, and the towel holder is crooked on the wall. I got a steak today and there was one of those plastic temperature indicators melted and stuck to the bottom of the steak. I didn't even notice it until I cut into that part of the steak. Went in with my honey late last night after the rodeo. It was about 9:30 - we definitely weren't expecting anything to be exceptional because of the time, but boy were we impressed. They were busy, but we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and efficient despite being very busy. I ordered the prime rib with a loaded sweet potato and a garden salad, my partner ordered a full rack of pork ribs and the loaded mashed potatoes. We started with the cactus onion, and of course their amazing complementary rolls with sweet cinnamon butter, YUM! Needless to say, we have enough leftovers to get us through lunch and dinner today (the day after) and found the meal to be fairly inexpensive for the quality and portion sizes. I know it's a chain, but it's our favorite restaurant in town. The wait staff is always super friendly, and the food is awesome. The steak is amazing, and it's usually cooked perfectly. If it's not, they don't mind re-doing it. The caesar salad is great, and perhaps the best thing is the hot rolls with cinnamon butter. We always get extra and take a few home.
