It's so rare these days, to have polite and friendly customer service, but Marcos is ALL of that! He responded quickly, got every item exactly correctly, including making sure there was no sour cream on my friend's baked potato. You would be surprised how often waitstaff fails on that one, simple request! So, it makes it worthy to mention that he took care with the order. Definitely try to sit at Marcos' section! Came on 4th of July for dinner, and the restaurant was rather empty. Restaurant was quiet and nice. Service was pretty quick, and server was friendly. I got their Tuesday daily special i.e. lobster and shrimp tacos. The tacos were soft shell, and the lobster and shrimp were fried. Both lobster and shrimp were seasoned well, and the sauce was sufficient for each taco. There was a little heat in the tacos which I like. The watermelon martini was not too bad. But I prefer a stronger vodka in the drink than more sweetness. Overall the food was good, and I would come back again when I am in the area. read more

I came in and ordered the Wednesday special, steak and lobster for $25. I ordered the steak medium well. The lobster was slightly off and was a little undercooked. The steak was no where near tender and was overcooked. Very nasty specimen of a steak and was tough as a boot. My kid enjoyed her meal which was the grilled shrimp and baked potato. The biscuits are always on point. The waiters attentiveness was not bad, but his recommendation on the special was . Shame on the cook. I was too hungry to complain, so I ate it, paid and left. To go orders (online) move slow. Three times I've ordered online, checked in after the order should've been ready and had to wait an additional 20-30 min. Everything here is amazing. The servers and hosts are always so nice and the food is great. The Calamari, Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, Crab Queso, and Mozzarella Cheesesticks are amazing appetizers along with the Crispy Dragon Shrimp (my favorite), that i eat as an entree. The Shrimp Linguini Alfredo and the Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo is also so good. And this restaurant has THE BEST peach tea. It tastes so refreshing like it's made with REAL peaches, not with some cheap peach syrup. Everything here is high quality. My family had hardly ever been to Red Lobster until I decided to try it for the first time several years ago on my birthday and it never disappoints. After I gave it, I opened my mouth to say I was ready to order and he was gone. Okay. Remind you, I've been sitting with my menu closed and pushed forward for a bit. My husband and I had visited Red Lobster this past weekend. I haven't been to Red Lobster in a long time. I was impressed. Our waitress was so sweet and on point. I had the margarita flight. It was delicious. The bar was out of the watermelon but offered me different options, I opted for raspberry and it was delicious. (Not to mention, service wasn't that great) Days later, an email came in stating I spent 48.99 and knowing I didn't spend that amount, I called the restaurant. I've been dining at the San Marcos Texas Red Lobster location for quite a few years now and they are pretty consistent in food quality, cleanliness, and good staff. With that said I wouldn't say that Red Lobster is my favorite seafood place nor would I say that the food they serve is equivalent of a price they charge but at the same time it is just good enough to keep me coming back. Why four stars and not five? A-ok. Friend saw their ad and was craving shrimp, so invited me to dinner tonight. As full as the parking lot was, I was really glad to not have to wait for a table at 7pm Wednesday. I asked for a bahama mama, and Lance said for $2 I could get the larger version. I thought why not, having no idea of the OCEAN which would arrive at my table. My friend was in a fine mood and ordered more food than I have seen her order in any previous three meals out put together. Shrimp cocktail and calamari starters. Some kind of seafood platter--and it came on an actual platter. I had a half order of wood grilled trout and both our entrees came with salads. She had tea. The biscuits were the freshest and cheesiest I have ever had here, and I suddenly understood why people rave over them. Lance had lots of tables to tend but he did a fine job with us and I only heard one reminder to him from another table for something they'd already requested. The kitchen was busy so it wasn't the fastest food had ever arrived, but we had no errors and other than the calamari not being as good as my friend recalled, I thought everything was fine (I didn't taste the starters). All this food and drink was about $70 before tip and I estimate the leftovers totaled at least 3 snacks/meals for later. I'd go again at a friend's request. read more

We were so excited for dinner, biscuits and cold salad. First no one greeted us at the entry but about 5 employees walked by, looked at us but did not acknowledge us. Then a young girl came forward and apologized but I was like 'I'm sorry you work with douche bags who can't cover for you" It took 30 minutes to get a water, then another 10 for biscuits then I lost count but salads arrived. Our biscuit basket was empty by now. Food was okay. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our check. Oh and in the meantime, our drinks were never refilled. Visited May 22nd. Honestly everything was good. The drinks were awesome, although they sort of took a little while. Nothing too bad though. The appetizer was so cheesy and hot. We shared a Trio with garlic shrimp scampi, some breaded shrimp and shrimp Alfredo lol. I wish the Alfredo had shredded Parmesan cheese. Other than that, our time here was great! We ordered Walts shrimp using our veterans voucher that was given to me on veterans Day. The shrimp and french fries were hot and delicious. We will not return to ANY of these restaurants as this is our second time in 2 differing locations with terribly overpriced, awful meals and drinks. The server was wonderful and I will not remove money from her gratuity for that which she did not prepare- the meals. We started off with a margarita each. One sip. It tasted like watered-down lime juice. I am on blood thinners and am allowed ONE alcoholic beverage. If I am not feeling the effects of that ONE, it's no good. So, I ordered a 2nd and finished that one. Still, nothing. Wow. Next, the appetizer. We chose the seafood mushrooms. They smelled amazing but when I tried to cut into my first one, the mushrooms were RAW and the seafood mix on top? Cold. Strike 2. My salad was good. The greens were fresh and crisp. Do order the dressing on the side as they used much too much for me. That's a personal choice, though. Then, the entrees. By now, I wanted to leave. It was our anniversary dinner as we have now been married for 29 years. We chose to stay as the server, again, was wonderful. I chose the steak and shrimp with a baked potato. I was only able to eat the baked potato as the steak was not only TOUGH but it was far too salty. The shrimp were cold and again, too salty. My husband ordered a baked potato, steak, and a lobster tail with rice. The rice and steak were again, too salty. He ate 1/2 of his steak, the lobster tail, and the potato, and was done. The lobster tail was SMALL. Very small and cold. We left our "big anniversary dinner"- hungry. Both of us. We opted to go out for ice cream after we left. It's difficult to screw up ice cream. Prior to leaving, we asked to take our meals home- for our dogs. I cut the steaks while waiting for the check and thought our dogs might enjoy our failed dinner. Upon arriving home, one of our sons descended upon the meal and took one bite of the steak whereupon he spat it out and exclaimed, "Whoa! MOM! WHY is this so salty???" No idea. The whole meal was salty. Except for the baked potatoes, the salad, and the lobster tail. I fully expect I have met my sodium requirements for the MONTH. They did it to me again. Another "fest" at the Red Lobster this time being crab. You've seen those commercials with delicious crab legs getting cracked. That detailed shot of lemon being sprayed across the plate. Total food porn of the sea if I ever saw such a thing. I put RL to the test last year visiting during Lobsterfest only to be let down by the dish I ordered. Lets just say that Crabfest 2010 was full of awesomeness! I arrived slightly before the entire nursing home snagging a table in the corner with the kiddo. There she is; that supplemental menu with crab, crab stuffed with crab, surrounded by crab, and drizzled with crab. I went for the big boy crab feast featuring a half pound of snow with a half pound of king; with some crab stuffed shrimp thrown in just to tease you. Little Rooster and I started with the cheddar biscuits; tasty as usual. The Caesar salad that accompanied the meal was right on the money. On to the crab platter, you spend half your time dissecting and the other half dipping. Both the king and the snow were cooked to perfection. The stuffed shrimp were just OK. Service just as Ryan P. says is spot on. My server was friendly and my glass of tea was never empty. About half way thru the meal a guy and his elderly mom were seated directly behind me. Guys, do you really think the customers within earshot want to hear your mom's entire plan for dying? Cremation, ashes spread, who gets the Cadillac, what to do with the money, don't give a dime to that crazy bitch of a sister, and my favorite what she wanted to wear? Well, our family decided to gather in San Marcos for a birthday. Our hotel was close to the Red Lobster and Friday evening traffic was horrible due to construction so we walked to Red Lobster. We were seated quickly and then waited for 30 minutes for a server to stop by our table. We ordered our drinks (including some beers for a table of 6) and some appetizers. We waited another 30 minutes for that to arrive. The server told us he couldn't serve us our beers because he was waiting for our glasses to get COLD.
