We went with friends yesterday to celebrate the sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces who died to protect our nation and its interests. Everything was good, as usual, except the gravy on the 'country fried steak'. I'm not sure what kind of gravy it is supposed to be, but it isn't white gravy as we have it in Texas. White gravy isn't supposed to be sweet and salty. Flour, bacon grease, salt, pepper, and some milk (sometimes cut with a bit of water). That's it, nothing more. Don't yankeefy it with rosemary or anything else. This really ruined the entire plate. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This restaurant is FILTHY! We got sat at a booth with smooshed food all over the floor. My husband said the men's restroom was so gross he couldn't even use it. Then, I ordered a medium rare ribeye with blue cheese crumbles. I worked at Texas Roadhouse for two years, and had this ordered many times. What I got was a ribeye with blue cheese "dressing" dumped and heated on top. Then when I complained, they tried to push it on me. "This is what you ordered" they said... looked more like curdled gravy. When they finally brought me my actual order, they talked to me as if I was a toddler, and we still paid full price. read more

This review is directed to Mr. Smith the Managing Partner. Every single experience we have ever had at a Texas Roadhouse, whether in Austin, Round Rock, El Paso (best steak ever), Milwaukee, Nashua NH and other places has been excellent. Until, we came to the Roadhouse in Temple, TX around 5:40pm 12/17 not too busy. We were a party of 9 including to children under 10. We were told that it would be 15-25 mins which is fine. 1 hour and 20 minutes later we were seated. My wife asked the young lady 3 times how much longer and her reply every time was 15-25 minutes. Meanwhile we easily saw more than 100 people on the low side get seated. Parties of 5-7 would arrive and get seated immediately (granted we were counting). My wife then asked the Manger her name is Angelique or Angelika not sure. This lady told my wife if we did not want to wait we could go elsewhere after already being an hour into the wait (What gull and she is a manger, I hope you fix that). Not sure how many people would feel about this treatment but we certainly did not like it. We were there to celebrate a birthday we came from Round Rock, Georgetown and Temple. The food was ok but my steak was super dry and my stepson's steak was so salty that he took two bites and did not eat anymore (it was comped). At no time did Angelique the Manger apologize for the inconvenience or assume responsibility for the mishap. In closing Mr. Smith I hope that you address this or at least put some measure in place were this does not happen to other good folks like us. Find a way to make this disaster right. Ok, this is a two part review. 1. We dined in. The food and service was awesome (4 stars). I have a service dog-in-training puppy, Bear. He was offered water and was treated very welcomely. I know it is the law to let him in, but he is not always welcomed (If you know what I mean). The 2nd part is what makes this place earn the 5 star review from me. 2. We asked to see a manager concerning supporting a free Temple event we were organizing. I am the President of a veteran/community 501c3 nonprofit. It is normally like "pulling teeth" getting help for this sort of thing from places. The PR person from the restaurant, Kennedy (sp?), showed up and presented us with several prize coupons. She even followed up with me to see how Texas Roadhouse could do more for us in the future. I truly don't know what it is about Texas, but y'all's tap water is DISGUSTING! and I say this because I know that, that is what the ice cubes and the base of all drinks. I like to say that I'm a water connoisseur (LOL I may be cheap about some things, but I am bougie when it comes to water and I drink a lot of water but definitely not nasty ass tap water). In Hawai'i the tap WAS good and obviously as years go by and due to the Red Hill Crisis where the US Military leaked jet fuel into a water reservoir, leaving it contaminated and irreversible SMH the reason I've brought this up is because I ordered the lemonade and if was my mistake for thinking that it was 'freshly made,' the syrup for the lemonade was NOT strong enough to mask the nasty as tap water taste. I even tried holding my breath while swallowing LOL or holding my nose and it didn't work. When I asked for a Kenny's Cooler, I thought I'd be rid of the nasty aftertaste but I was wrong. I don't know if it makes sense to you, but I could taste the ice and it made me cringe. Thank goodness, I had my own water bottle in my purse because I could not take it. any how, I had give this place 2 stars because like the rating says, it "could've been better." Maybe my expectations were too high. Being born and raised on an island has its perks, I mean, I know the people who catch (hunt) the meat and prepare and I know everything fresh and so maybe I expected more from here because I was being optimistic. I ordered a steak which would have been better if the cook had followed my instructions and made it Medium Well and not rare. Loved the loaded mash potatoes tho! For starters, I enjoy posting positive reviews for businesses and avoid posting when there is a negative experience. However, to say the hostess was rude is an understatement. They would not sit our party of 7 because 3 were not there yet. I asked if we could just split the party up so that we could go ahead and sit down so our kids could eat and the other party could sit separately once they arrived. She refused and then proceeded to sit multiple other 4 top tables in front of us. I asked again if we could just sit at a table for 4 and she stated we can sit at a table for 7 when the rest of the party arrived. She laughed at me as she was talking then proceeded to roll her eyes. I know she's a young kid that probably wasn't raised any better, but I would hope Roadhouse would do a better job of hiring better quality employees. Finally got to get into this place! Hub and I were out to eat. First time we came by a week or so ago, the draft beer was down. Second time, the place was packed...couldn't even find a parking space! Sat at the bar and Theo, our bartender, immediately greeted us, continuing to be professional and courteous throughout our stay. We ordered some dinners: me the bbq chicken, with salad, and sweet potato, and him the chicken fried steak, Caesar salad, and loaded baked potato. Very tasty, both. Not gourmet, but we didn't expect that. Yeast rolls and cinnamon butter were delicious as always. Had a few beers and relaxed. One patron had a health issue and EMS came eventually. Hope she is OK. Texas Roadhouse is cliche' and corny with the decor and stalking Andy Armadillo. But they do know how to present a delicious, tender, juicy steak and a ass kicking ( no way can I do two and drive ), cocktails. We chose TR over, outback and long horn. Last visits to Long Horn have been less than joyous. But this was a lotto hit, right out the ball park winner. The staff was accommodating , friendly , good mix of the community. We swung in on our way back from San Antonio. I'm glad we did. This is probably the most laid back Texas Roadhouse we have been to. Straight away we didn't like the table they seated us at and we asked to move into the bar, no problem the girl said and she switched our tables. Our Server Jacob was a nice kid. He was a little overwhelmed moving from table to table. He forgot a lot of what we asked for or needed but eventually he got it for us. He was such a nice kid we couldn't be mad at him. Im sure as he gets more practice he will get better. Food was top notch. Everything was cooked just like we asked for it to be. I really have no complaints. Our preferred location is Kingwood up close to Northpark. We like to go a bit early before the crowd shows up and the waiting line gets long. Our personal favorites are the Dallas fillet and the fillet pieces on the stick with mushroom sauce - always tender and juicy. Service can be a bit slow sometimes but that's what the rolls and margaritas are for. Personally I'm beginning to like the auto pay at the table ability. read more

I have ate at roadhouse for years and two weeks ago came and got full rack ribs they weren't cooked all the way this week the service was horrible so far and I haven't even got to eat yet the front desk is unorganized and lost and servers won't listen wanted to argue about trying to set me at bar when I repeated it several times no bar area. I love the roadhouse but last couple times has been hell and Covid is not a issue anymore it's a crutch for excuses now for every place u go no matter food medical car dealers ect it's the new way out excuse !!!!! I love Texas Roadhouse and go regularly in Houston, but had the worst experience at the temple location. I went with a group of 7 people in which we called ahead for. The waitress did her best and was sweet, but was unavailable for 30 min. We didn't receive our food for 45 min and most of table ran out of drinks and we obviously concerned about our food. We had to notify a hostess that we haven't been attended to. Then our food came out. A "medium rare" roadkill came out as extra well done. A "medium" was well done. And two sets of sides were not given with the entrees Literally one of the worst service I've received so I asked to talk to a manager. The manager had an incredible attitude and refused to make any of it right outside of getting the right food orders. My opinion is that not getting food in a timely manner, poor food quality, and not providing sides should result in comping a food item. Idk who the manager is at 10pm on Saturdays, but I can not give a worse review for her. Obviously not running a tight ship or offering quality customer service. We dined at Texas Roadhouse on 5/22/24 when a tornado hit temple. Instead of the employees letting everyone know to shelter in place or the bathrooms, all employees just disappeared into the freezer. I hadn't been to this Texas Roadhouse in many years. They did a good job with social distancing. Check-in was all done by mobile phone. You checked in and stayed in the vehicle until they text you. It worked perfectly. There were a lot of people in the restaurant but they were spread out through out the restaurant. It was my granddaughters birthday so we had a lot of fun. Hot rolls were put on the table with cinnamon butter. I ordered a 6oz sirloin steak that was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. The steak was so good the seasoning was awesome! I had a salad and a loaded baked potato. Really good. The waiter was on top of everything at our table. When he would see that drinks were getting low he immediately brought a fresh drink without us even asking for a re-fill. Customer service was spectacular! I will definitely be back. read more

The waiters claim they cannot lower the music This used to be a great to eat and talk... This is not what I found in the TRH in Waco, San Diego and other sites. I would ask the owner of this restaurant to put a sign outside to alert to the loud music so time is not wasted by Adults with adult conversations or those with children and no ear protection. I will NEVER eat here again! They have THE WORST customer service! They treat black people VERY POORLY! we called ahead and made reservations for our table, ..we booked reservations online on their website, ..AND we have someone from our party GO INSIDE and make a reservation in person and STILL. When we got to the restaurant they refused to seat us even though our entire party was there and accounted for. The front door hostess was not helpful at all. On the phone she told us she was going to seat us once everyone from my party was there, but that was a lie. She told us there was no seating available for us, but we were looking at four tables that had no one sitting there , so we ask can we sit at those tables that were LOOKING AT with NO ONE SITTING THERE and the front door attendant told us that there were no waitresses to service that area. Fast forward five minutes and another couple that was not black came in and was seated in THAT'S SAME area immediately and had a server immediately. The entire time we waited out front, which was over 20 minutes , plus the 20 minute prior reservation we had already made!... we stood there and watched five employees hang out in that empty area and talk and joke, and be on their cell phones laughing and chilling... , meanwhile, the front desk attendant tells us that there is no one available to work that area... . After asking for a manager and asking, why are Black people not allowed in that seating area, then we were seated immediately by the manager, mostly out of embarrassment... Then our food took forever to come out, even though my wife only ordered salmon which literally takes under ten minutes to make.. and when it did come out, it was bland and had no flavor. For some reason they bright out tater sauce for salmon.. idk anyone who eats salmon with tater sauce, but ok . We thought it would come with a creamy garlic sauce.. We asked the waitress for ketchup, salt, and pepper, because there was none on our table, like they were supposed to be , .. and she refused to bring us any. She never came back with ketchup, salt and pepper for the entire night. We had a table of nine people and got one basket of four rolls with one small thing of butter. I got the pulled pork, which was not pulled at all. It was huge chunks just thrown on my plate with no flavor. I also ordered steak fries, which also had no flavor. We ordered the onion blossom, but only got one small sauce for that entire platter. We asked to have the TV switched so we could watch the game and they would not accommodate that request either.. The front desk attendant try to just hush us up and move us off to the side out of her way so that she could service other non-black customers , and we felt very disrespected and not wanted in the establishment. Had a great experience, wonderful server, fast service, and very clean. I've ate at other locations but I think this one has been my favorite. I will definitely be returning. Also even with covid still going on the staff was very mindful of maintaining their distance but giving excellent service.
