Service is very hit or miss. I've given it several tries before finally posting this review. Some visits, service is impeccable ... bread is always on the table drinks are always filled. Zero issues. Other times I feel like I'm standing on my table and waiving my arms just to get someone's attention. This last time I had to eat my entire meal without a drink because our waitress brought me a sweet tea instead of unsweet. (I don't do sugar). I could not even get her attention because she was dealing with a table of 12. In fact I couldn't get anyone's attention for 20 minutes .... on another visit the wait staff did not check on us once after they dropped our plates at the table. It wasn't until I was trying to get her attention for the check that she finally asked if everything was OK. Which is was.... but again, the lack of service was noticed. Other visits I've been lucky enough to have excellent service. Our wait staff has greeted us at the table with an upbeat attitude and a smile. Servers are personable and friendly. Never an issue with refills. And they always seem attentive to our table. The hostesses are the typical stuck up teenagers who seem to be inconvenienced by a job. Every time you walk in or as they are seating you, you'll notice the "teenager" attitude and the scripted small talk. Now let's get to the food. My steak has always been on point and perfect. There's never too much seasoning it's cooked to temperature. The sides are delicious... And the house salad should have a Social media of its own. Bread is always hot and tastes like heaven. One could probably have an entire meal just of bread and the cinnamon butter, with a steak on the side LOL Overall this could be an awesome place to get a delicious steak dinner. I just wish the service was more consistent. You never know if you're going to get good or bad service - it's always on one end of the spectrum or the other. I love Texas Roadhouse, I just hate that we can't eat the fresh hot peanuts and just throw the shells on the floor. I the steak and broccoli. The bread is good with the honey butter. We frequent Texas Roadhouses all over and this is by far the least great one I've been to. They are always loud but the music was so loud we didn't even talk to each other and rushed through our meal to get out. Had been my very favorite place for steak! Today's meal was going pretty well until the cockroach left his hideout from behind the menu stacked against the wall! Killed the meal right then and there fir me! This chain has been my "go to" between texas & Utah for YEARS, now ‍? My daughter "caught it in one of the menu's & gave it to a waitress, warning her to be careful. Seriously expected management or a supervisor to at least acknowledge & apologize, but nothing. Great food and service. We both had the 6oz steak both ordered medium, which came out fine. The hubby had a loaded baked potato and I had the veggies. All the food tasted great. Definitely recommend this place if you are traveling down I35 and want something besides fast food. read more

I must have been grumpy during my last review. If I am eating here I am overnighting. They may explain it. This is my favorite TX Roadhouse. I frequent these because I can order a diet-compliant meal. Tonight is Salmon, corn & green beans. No bread. I always eat at the bar and I'm here enough that the ladies acknowledge me when I come in. Makes the road a little friendlier. Peyton is the best bartender here and she is here tonight. I have eaten here probably a dozen times in the last year. I get a predictably good meal that is well prepared, served rapidly and by friendly servers. Have I had better salmon or steak somewhere else? Sure. But at twice the price and in excess of my $50 expense account limit. The salmon was perfectly grilled, flaky and moist with just enough grill. The sides are consistently good and Texas Tech Basketball was on the screen. Hard to beat for under $25. This is a chain that does a great job delivering a consistently good product. It's ridiculous that a party of two waited an entire hour after being informed of a 20min wait time.:. Then to see a group of employees congregating around the host stand and empty tables with multiple patrons waiting for seats!!!!.... Then after waiting an hour and being told your number 4 to be sat I checked the status to be told I'm not number 2 and the kitchen is backed up. That was the reasoning I got.... This was the worst Roadhouse experience I've ever experienced me and my family of 4 got seated at our table at 7 pm we were immediately greeted by our waitress and asked for our drink order and if we wanted appetizers gave our drive asked a couple minutes to look at menu. After about 5 minutes we placed our order and waited for it for almost 45 mins. After ordering both of our ribeyes it took until 9 pm to get our actual dinner!! When our food was brought our waitress had us cut into our steaks that were ordered to be medium rare my husband wasn't impressed with the overcooked steak it was almost well done at that point. We asked for it to be remade and our waitress informed us that his steak is gonna have to be remade and his would be first one out and brought by a manager to talk to us. We waited over 30 mins for it to be finally brought back and when it was it was the size of a child's steak! We told the manager there is no way that was his because it was tiny. Waited another 15 mins for a steak to be brought out by a noticeably frustrated manager who put the plate down not saying anything asking him to simply cut into to see if that's better with noticeable attitude as if she didn't want to be there. Annoyed with the whole exchange my husband simple said it was fine even though half of his meat was inedible with the amount of fat and cartridge. I give 3 stars because the rolls are awesome. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff is top notch. Now we come to the grill.... You basically have 1 job. That job is to cook steaks. Rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done. No matter how a person orders a steak, you should be able to cook it as a professional and turn out a quality product. Seriously, if a steak house can't cook a steak well done and maintain tenderness and juiciness, that steakhouse either needs a professional grill cook or to switch their menu over to a burger joint. No one has any business cooking a steak if they don't possess the skills necessary to turn out a quality well done ribeye that is both tender and juicy. Texas Roadhouse is country. Country music, peanuts amd country decor. As you enter you'll see the host behind a counter and their best cuts of meat on display on the other side. Depending on when you visit you may have to wait awhile as this restaurant is popular. We stopped at this location because it was open! We were driving to Austin late one evening and needed to grab some grub. We arrived 25 mins from close. The staff didn't seem put off or turn us away. We were sat quickly and greeted by our waitress. I ordered a shrimp toast appetizer and my husband ordered a t-bone. Our food came out quickly. If there's one thing about Texas Roadhouse that is they over season their food. Everything is so salty. It tastes good but your blood pressure may suffer! Our server was attentive. Food was hot when brought to the table. Restaurant was clean. I would return here again. Then the inside music was even louder waitresses were more interested in dancing and singing than checking to see if we needed things like silverware and drinks . Stay away from this place!! Horrible, rushed service. They do not care about returning guests they care about ticket times and making the most money in the quickest way possible. That's it. If you're thinking about visiting TXRH, please consider giving your money to a small business. I have gotten roadhouse to go multiple times and each time it was terrible. They either forgot part of my meal and then I had to go back in or their portions were so small and looked as though they were just thrown in a box. I have had a few nice experiences with TRH but the last time was particularly bad. We were three people for a birthday celebration, and finally got seated in a socially distanced table, BUT.. we had to SHOUT at each other from across the table because THE MUSIC IS SO DAMNED LOUD. We had trouble hearing the server due to his mask AND the loud music and had a lousy time visiting because of it. I asked the server to see about turning the music down, nothing happened. I asked a floor manager to turn the music down, nothing happened. Are they playing the music for THEIR benefit, or OURS. It's supposed to be ambiance music, not concert level. So the food was good! Walked out and forgot my to go box that had over 1/2 a 12 ounce ribeye in it.. my fault. Realized it not even 5 minutes later was still in the parking lot. Went back in and they threw it away! When I asked about it the lady at the front said if it is left it gets thrown away. I'm sorry but is there not common sense? But I guess that would be expected when servers and a manager are rushing us to leave for the table 5 minutes after finishing. I understand people are waiting for a table. First time there and only because we had a gift card. The music was so loud we could not even hear the staff talking to us. I am sure the db level was above safe limits. They told us that was as low as it could be turned down. Even the manager stated that. I feel sorry for the staff that will suffer hearing loss from extended exposure. The water and ice tasted lIke crap. Like drinking dirty pool water. Food was barely ok. I am a born and bread Texan and the food was not up to real Texas standards. We have another gift card that we will use for take out only but will have to wait until we are in Temple during their limited hours of business.
