There was a lack of service on several levels. I came in with my wife and my in-laws. We were told the wait was 30 minutes. That was fine. When our buzzer went off, we got up, and then after a few minutes, they host staff (there were 3 up there) said they accidentally hit the wrong buzzer. They told us the situation, but they didn't apologize or say we were next or anything. When our meal came out, my wife and I split the 16oz prime rib. It was cooked the right color, but the texture was off. We pretty much ate 12oz of prime rib. 4oz was not chewable. Then, came the bill . . . my father in law insisted on paying. So he gave them his credit card. 8 minutes later, the waitress apologizes saying that their machines are down and they can't run credit cards or put in orders. The waitress offered to get us more rolls while we waited, but we said we were ok. 20 minutes later my father law is getting upset. He has to flag down our waitress and tell her that something needs to get figured out now. She says she'll go get the manager. 5 minutes later, the waitress comes back with the credit card. They made a copy the old fashioned way with the roller. We pay and leave. **The manager never came. So pretty much the FOH staff needs to be coached on communication. The kitchen needs to work on cooking. The waitress needs to get the manager when she says she's going to get the manager . . . I know it wasn't the best situation for the restaurant, but I have worked at a SBUX where the credit card system went down. We had a plan immediately. You can't stop business and you can't keep your patrons out of the loop. read more

I'm not stranger to the Texas Roadhouse family. I moved to Waco recently and had to try this location out. The service at this place is not that great. There was a long wait, even though there were open seating. When we ordered our food, it took over 1.30 HOURS to get it to us. The first excuse was that they had a BIG basketball team so that made a backlog of getting our food out, which is BS. After awhile, they told us the computer system was down and our food orders were lost in it...At this moment I wanted to get up and leave, but I've waited a long time to just give up and walk away...crazy right? Eventually the manager came out to apologize and gave us the free meal..oh and the food? Everyone talks about the incredible bread basket that comes before the meal. It comes with a cinnamon butter and it's just as good--if not better--than everyone says. Wow. That bread comes off more like a dessert. Served warm, the rolls are soft and pillowy. They are roll-your-eyes delicious. We asked for regular butter and he brought a second basket of bread almost immediately since the bread disappeared like a magic trick. We ordered: Ribeye Steak w/Ribs Combo (3/5) This comes with two sides. I got the loaded Baked Potato and Caesar Salad. The steak was undercooked, but he took it back no problem and grilled it a bit more. Steak was OK but not great. The ribs were under-sauced but enjoyable. Caesar Salad was good but way overdressed, literally swimming in dressing. The Baked Potato was on target. Deep Fried Onion (3/5) I forget the name they had for this, but it's the one they serve where the onion looks like a flower that's blooming. It was served with ranch dressing and I had no complaints. Deep Fried Mushrooms (5/5) Possibly my favorite thing on the menu, right up there with the bread. Something just plain delicious about these. We all left very full and satisfied. The service was good and the food was enjoyable. I've had better steaks but if we lived in the area, I might come back again to try other things on the menu. Went to the Texas Roadhouse in Waco last night. Greeters and wait staff very friendly. Food is okay and reasonably priced. Our server was super nice and attentive, but still we got our appetizer AFTER our meals. All in all, you get way you pay for - reasonably priced food. The most memorable part is that we were SUPER TURNED OFF by the girl only line dancing that seems to required. Right in front of our table every half hour. I just thought the whole thing was distasteful and reeked of a 70's style gimmick that really borders trashy. You are already battling the super loud music and then they add that. It's impossible to have a conversation with your table. I think next time, we'll shoot for something a little quieter and more dignified. read more

Great food and great deals. First time here and had a sirloin steak. Was cooked perfectly. The service was also very on point. It's fun to eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor. At this particular location (Waco) a reservation for the waitlist was made for 14 for 5pm - a confirmation number was given. Upon arrival the initial hostess presented to us two areas of choice where we could sit. After choosing the area the young lady sat 8 of us down and pulled menus from a side table And took a birthday cake to the back In about 10 minutes /4:45 a Caucasian manager came to the table and stated that we would not have a server until around 5:30-they we're waiting for someone to arrive. We asked could he take drink orders at lease- he suggested we proceed to the bar. So two of us proceeded to the bar and purchased drinks and returned to the table. Meanwhile while sitting, an African American gentleman proceeded to the table And asked us to get up and return to the waiting area until 5pm (it was 4:58-I presented the time to him on my phone). I asked him why although another hostess had brought the remaining group of 6 and seated them. He stated that the other hostess should have prepared the tables correctly for our arrival-after his nasty attitude demanding idiotic request in which he ranted nothing for 4 minutes-everyone looked at him in disgust. We asked him what more needed to be done, napkins were present, plates were present peanuts were brought but no bread- we were told we had to wait until server arrived. By this time it was 5:10 -another customer at another table shared his bread (twice). Then comes Mehgan, our waiter who was a 19 year old Caucasian very kind and very sweet young lady in which we very much enjoyed (by the way a second waiter who witness her struggle alone with such a large group offered to assist her- I overheard him say That he would assist her with clearing the tables. She took the orders very quickly but the food was delayed in the kitchen-she apologized to everyone individually and stated that she's on top of it- Although we did not ask for a manager one did not appear to the table as well. We completed our meals (appetizers and entrees) upon arrival to the table. Although she and the young man worse clearing the tables I asked her could she bring the cake with some plates. She looked puzzled because no one told her that a cake was brought in. She returned to the table and ask me to describe the cake and his container-apparently she was not getting assistance from the staff upfront- She later returned with the cake on a tree we sang happy (ourselves) birthday she then proceeded to gather the restaurant staff members and did the restaurants presentation as well. We cut the cake we shared the cake with other customers around us as well as her self and 2 busboys. Meghan 10 stars but the restaurant management, food and service 1 star. The bill was $260 but she was given a gratuity of $60 on the ticket and $20 left on table. Me and my boyfriend went here over the weekend and it was packed!!!!! But we where greeted immediately and the doors where held open for us. We walked up to the count r where given a ticket and where immediately seated. Our waitress walked us to our table asked how we where and if it was our first time visiting we where seated right by the bar in a booth witch was absolutely perfect for us! We where given there very soft rolls and butter that was soooo amazing! Shortly after we where brought our food witch was of course amazing to. I got the chicken portobello with mushrooms and oh my goodness it was delicious!!!!! We also ordered drinks and let me say their bartender is perfection my pina colada was sweet I could taste the alcohol but it was not over powering witch I loved!! After we where done we did not have to wait long at all for our ticket we gave a $10 tip cause our waitress was awesome! Also it was a great place ice! Rolls, (2 baskets) his meal and mine 2 sprite 2 waters and he got a beer and I got a pina colada and it was $40 with the $10 tip!! Was really disappointed after we were told we will be seated in 15 minutes after being outside waiting on the seating for about 20 minutes, we went back inside and the lady taking names asked us to go back outside in the cold weather when others came inside after us and were waiting on tables also. It was not what we wanted we told no we are already cold enough and she could ask others to do as we already have done. But I watch and she only told a few but not all that came in after us again. Then when we got to the table after 40 minutes when we were seated they brought us rolls, I asked if I could have just regular butter and the waitress saud yes 5 minutes later I received it will the rolls was cold by then. The ice tea was not very much ice in the glass at all, maybe they were running low on ice. It may look like I'm being too picky, but when you go out to a nice restaurant and spend alot on a nice meal in a nice restaurant I would thing you should receive good service. But now I think it's best to go a local place that is not a national restaurant that does not care what they look like from the public view. It will make me think twice about going back. This past weekend my buddy & I drove to Waco to hit a few guy stores. It was around 5pm and we were starving. We both wanted to grab a steak so we hit Texas Road House on the way home. We walked in and my buddy told me to pick out a steak. I had never done that but picked out this sweet ribeye. We were seated quickly and grabbed a beer. That steak and food was top notch! I will never return. My first experience was awful. I had a bartender that was more interested in her cell phone than providing me with any service. So as you can imagine the service was subpar. I had to literally hollar across the bar to get my bill and leave. I contacted them via their website and got a call from the general manager, Bill. He left a voicemail within a reasonable time and seemed apologetic. Bill offered me $35 off my next visit with seemed fair. Tonight I decided to give them a second chance. I told the bartender right away about the $35 to give the manager plenty of time to research it. I received great service and good food. When it came time to pay it was taking so Long I told the bartender to just print me the bill and I'll pay it, I had been done eating for a long time and just wanted to go. The manger showed up almost immediately after I said that. Jerry was the manager and had no idea about the $35 at all. It wasn't written down and he didn't have any manager log to look at. I was treated like I was trying to scam them out of a free meal, like I didn't have the money. I played Bill's voicemail for Jerry who then took money off my bill. I was so irate for being treated this way I told him I didn't want the discount and just paid full price to further show him I wasn't some piece of trash and had money. At what point does a customer who had a bad experience have to play a voicemail to the manager on duty from the general manager in order to have credibility and get treated with respect? EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE! Ordered onlineat 6.23pm & told it would be ready by 7pm. We get there & the order had not even been started! 45 minutes in, we explained the situation to one hostess & asked what was going on. She said, "There's nothing I can do about it." & walked away! In all, we spoke with 4 employees & a manager & never even an apology!!! After 1:45, we finally received our order! Got home to cold food & no side dishes on 3 orders! I called back after we were home to ask for the store number & the corporate office information. I spoke with the manager & heard an apology for the first time. Since it is 8.52pm by the time we are home, I will be calling in the morning! CRAPPY SERVICE AND POOR MANAGEMENT!!!! Definitely NOT a good way to run a business! I'll note that this is the ONLY location we have ever had a problem with! We've been to several locations in the DFW & Austin area and never had any problems! If there was a lower score than one star, this Texas Roadhouse would receive it. I have never had this awful of an experience at this restaurant. Our waiter was extremely rude and inattentive. We called an hour ahead and still had to wait almost another hour for our table because they gave it away to someone else. We had no silverware and when we asked, our waiter was rude again and blamed it on his coworkers. Some of our food never arrived and we had to remind them. The ceiling was also dripping rusted water on a member of our dinner party and the manager proceeded to tell her, "please move", and get up on a ladder and touch the AC. (Literally didn't do anything). We never got any water refills or any drink refills. Worst management of a Texas Roadhouse I've ever experienced. I am never coming back here again. Congratulations, Texas Roadhouse, you have managed to piss me off royally not only in person at your Waco location, but also at the corporate level. Bravo. I am going to spare a long, drawn out account of how ridiculous our visit was, but in short, it took over 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food to come out. Insanity! Our server offered us NO apology, NO explanation, NOTHING. That's BAD ENOUGH by itself, but to add insult to injury, my steak, which I had ordered medium rare, came out well done. At this point, I decided that I had waited long enough for this stupid meal, and I wanted to enjoy it, damnit, so I (politely) sent it back. Almost 20 minutes later ( WAY TOO long...when you F up someone's dinner, you better replace it on the fly...), the manager delivered my steak to the table. She slammed the plate down in front of me with a scowl on her face and didn't say a word. No apology, no "why don't you cut into that and see if it looks ok"...NOTHING. This, despite the fact that my fiancee was already done eating. Oh, and guess what...the 2nd steak was approximately medium well. Still wrong. Got the check...no comps, still no apology for our server or from management. Needless to say, I left here pretty disgusted with the whole situation. I will be the first to admit, I kind of let things get under my skin...bother me a little too much...so when I got home that night, I decided to fire off an email to Texas Roadhouse through the "contact us" feature on their website. I chose my words carefully, and composed a diplomatic email expressing my disappointment in how this situation was handled. Well, guess what...no response! Not even a form letter...nothing. Hmm, I guess the corporate philosophy is to cut your losses rather than deal with an unpleasant situation...and they must train their managers to handle unsatisfied customers as such. Ate here with my daughter while shopping at Central Texas Marketplace. We got there right as it opened so we had not wait. It was a chilly day and we got seats by the fireplace. The server was cute and would sit on the hearth to chat. The rolls are good with the sweetened butter. Problems are it takes forever for the food to arrive and the cuts of meat are very strange. I ordered a filet and was served a New York strip. I know the difference. The server told me they cut the filets in half (really?), horizontally that is, which results in that appearance. You don't ruin a filet by well, filleting it. No way you can do a medium rare on such thin pieces of meat. It was gristly too, supporting my belief it was not a filet. The server did go back to the kitchen to check, to no avail. I have since talked to someone who had the same experience so no telling what kind of meat they are putting out there. read more

We have always loved coming to Texas Roadhouse here in Waco and other towns but Waco has no idea how to cook a consistent MED steak. I used to always order my MED steak but always had to send it back and by the time I got it back it was usually way over cooked than just MED and my sweet potato was cold. I just took pic of the MED steak my husband ordered tonight and it is blood red. I started ordering grilled chicken salad, but would have loved to have had a steak. My moms Margarita glass was chipped and sharp that you could cut your finger. They went and poured the drink in a a new glass instead of getting us a new drink... HORRIBLE service. read more

I cannot believe the poor service we got tonight. We were seated and set for over 10 minutes before our waiter appeared to take our drink order and it was another 10 minutes before we got our drinks. He took our order one of the people that was with us could not have barbecue sauce on the ribs he was specifically told do not put barbecue sauce on the ribs.
