My wife and I went here Sunday evening thinking that they were following the same rules that other restaurants in the county were following. Apparently, some one in the county approved for this place to operate at 100% because they installed screens between all the booths. The problem operating at 100% requires a full staff who constantly are moving in the same walkway that it takes to get to your table. No social distancing at all. Visited the place last night after traveling from California. We had a party of 8, they were very nice and sat us pretty quickly. Our server, Stefani was so so nice and very patient w our group. Our food came out fast and everything was amazing. All our food was well cooked and seasoned. Our favorites were the onion blossom and the croutons in the salad. All the meats ordered were really good! Mac n Cheese was the only thing the table wasn't a fan of. The prices were very good especially the 3.99 margaritas during happy hour! I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I walked in, the hostesses were friendly. Sometimes in places, they are too cool for school and are on their smartphones. So tonight I though I would try one last time. But after sending my food back for for a total of 3 times I had to call it quits. The manager was nice about it and offered to cover the meal on the second try, and the bar staff was fantastic, but after the 3 try they couldn't get the steak kbobs medium like I requested from the start, I had to just leave. for each time the steak came out it was over cooked to the point it looks dry and with out flavor. She was not pleased that we had questions, and two of us actually changed a small order, and we visibly irritated her. So Texas Roadhouse is by far my favorite restaurant but today they failed. It's father's day. Hubby still can't go be in crowds so I decided to pick up a meal. Placed order online about a hour before pickup time. Get there and I still ended up waiting another hours before our food was ready. So we finally get home. Potatoes are cold and there are no salads ( we both ordered them as sides). I'd call but no way am I going back up there today to get them. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Came in when it was crowded and a cold front blowing in and when told 40-50 my husband and I sat down on their bench inside for people waiting. After about 20 min a hostess came up and asked us to go wait in our car and when I said no it is too cold to walk all the way out to the far place we had to park she argued with me and would not stop harassing me for wanting to wait inside. There is always a wait coming here, so put your name down and walk over the peanut shell covered floor to the seating by the door. Thankfully the complimentary rolls and butter are heavenly and there is zero judgment for ordering 4 baskets before your food arrives. I ordered the roadkill, which is a "steak"/slab of meat smothered with mushrooms, onions, and cheese. I ordered it medium rare as I normally order my steak, but it came out so well done that there wasn't a hint of red anywhere on it. We came in for Mother's Day it was great we called ahead and got on the waitlist. We were seated quickly and our waitress tend it to us right away. Probably my favorite restaurant in town. Always juicy meaty goodness for the perfect price. My favorite thing here is their sweet rolls with the cinnamon butter. SO YUMMY. You can also choose your own meat as well, which is neat. I get my meat medium rare, and you should as well. The only downside is that they ask you if you want your sweet potato to be loaded. The last two times I have eaten here and again today, the steak has been overcooked. Medium rare had pink center. They consistently overcook the steaks and then the next one comes out seared/burned on both sides with a charred taste. My advice is to order one away from what you prefer. Had I ordered it rare, it likely have been perfect and medium rare. Or, just eat it the way it comes out because at least then it's still juicy. After 15 minutes, it arrives charred on the outside and nearly raw on the inside. Chewy and horrible...After the third time in a row, my advice is to go to Saltgrass or Longhorn if you want it cooked correctly. Or don't order steak from here. Pic is of second one. Spectacular meal. Party of 11 .. although we didn't get to sit together (separate booths) the meal made up for it. Several dallas steaks were orders and I had chicken tenders. The plate was overfilled with chicken strips & a separate order of stake fries and corn. I cannot remember ever getting such tender, flaky, softy center chicken... absolutely delicious! Went to Roadhouse today (go at least once a week), ordered catfish to go. When my husband was picking up my order he asked for ketchup, they said they had no "to go ketchup". Now I'm sure they had ketchup in the restaurant, they could have poured some in the to go containers they put the butter in, which is how it comes. I can't believe people like this place, the service isn't that good but they have employees standing around everywhere, they make you wait even with 15+ tables wide open. The steaks taste like they cooked them over diesel flames if you order it rare, they just crank up the gas and make it really horrible. The one good thing that they had going for them was the rolls, they were quite tasty. I got some appetizers that were still frozen in the middle, so much for fresh foods.
