Disappointed an entire team of athletes who look forward to their one Texas Roadhouse team dinner every season. Coach called well ahead and understood they could accommodate our team. However, when our team arrived (on a Tuesday night), they were told it would be a minimum of an hour and half, and they refused to split the party up. Three of us had come ahead and were at a small table with ~20 seats in view just from our table, and we had had no wait upon arriving. It was clear from the manner of communication that they didn't want the business and were willing to disappoint a group of kids to avoid having it. (And in a college town.) We keep coming back and giving them a second chance, but after this evening we won't be coming back. We waited longer than normal, the steaks (all three of them) came out overcooked, the ones that came out after that were cooked better, but had zero taste (we even asked for extra seasoning). The manager didn't offer an apology or a discount, which wasn't expected, but would have been nice considering we had been there over an hour by the time the second steak came out. My husband kills it with a napkin before it climbs into our bread & calls the manager over. His response ---- "you want a new napkin?" Ummm? Okay. Doesn't even offer to wipe the table down. Nothing. Then my husband picks up his arm & feels some stickiness & notices BLOOD on the table. Which if he would've offered to wipe our table down we never would have noticed. I have watched this particular chain grow for many years. While I will admit ten years ago I did not care much for returning here, this particular location, has not only turned it around but turned it up! Sizzling up! Like back 40, cattle branding, bomb fire burning, all natural, professional meat cutting world championship wining, from hostess to scratch baking rolls, outstanding salads, steaks grilled to juicy perfection, bar tending, birthday party throwing, ....it does not get better than this. Everyone is happy, energetic and smiling even at closing time. For the last three years we find ourselves here at least five times a month and have only found one steak to have a bit of gristle in it. That screams volumes to me. The professional meat cutters stand inside the cooler cutting tonight's meat! But the juicy & magnificently tastefully seasoned & perfectly medium rare juiciness which we have begun to crave on a regular basis here is only topped inside this same beautiful barn by its own value & service, right here. Wednesday nights people. I'm talking Wednesday nights where you can order a whopping 11oz. Sirloin with choice of two sides for only $10.99. No where else have we found the doors opened for us like they do it here. This particular night has been perfectly & carefully recreated every night over the last three years by every employee under this roof. Our glasses were never empty. For me steak sauce is never needed here because what ever that gold dust seasoning adds only brings out the wonderful natural flavor. My salad always almost fills me up but never quenches what I came here craving as my juicy steak is sat before me & I am always asked to cut into it before they leave me to chow down, only so I can make sure it is both tender & cooked the way I asked them to cook it. I have not needed to send one back yet over the last three years. My bake potato hot until my last bite of steak was done. No complaints again tonight. Both Becca & our meal could not have been any sweeter. I have not yet found another steak house that serves a juicy flavorful sirloin with the tenderness of a filet. I am a past Texas Roadhouse employee. This means that I know the ins and outs of this particular restaurant chain and have very high standards when I visit one of the restaurants after spending a few years dedicating numerous hours to the business. With that said, I really enjoyed my recent visit to this Waco location. My husband took me on a romantic getaway for Valentine's weekend. We spent our honeymoon around Austin and he wanted to take us back there for the weekend. Having worked a long day on Friday, we stayed in Waco for the night and stopped here for dinner. Our server was top notch. Even though the restaurant was packed (even at 9pm) with those celebrating Valentine's, he still made us feel like valuable customers. Our drinks were refilled, more rolls brought to the table, to-go drinks, etc. He was attentive without being annoying. I ordered the sirloin kabob which is served on a bed of rice and a side salad w/lo-fat ranch dressing. Delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was super cold (my favorite). My husband ordered a ribeye, loaded fries, green beans and a side salad. Again, the steak was cooked perfectly. The salads were so good that we stopped again on our way back from Austin on Sunday afternoon for lunch. We ordered the Chicken Critters Salad. Yum! Our server on Sunday was excellent as well. I would like to start this by saying that I dined here on a Friday night, October 30, so the initial wait time is not absurd at all. However, I did create this account solely to convey my absolute disappointment with this establishment. I first arrived to the Texas Roadhouse at 7 p.m. where I then had to wait for an hour -- which is totally fine for a Friday night! When we were seated at 8:12, we then had to wait an additional hour for our food -- which would have been fine, had the food not come to us completely cold. No part of the food was even remotely warm. I am sure I do not have to explain why cold poultry and steak is a very bad thing. When I went to cut my chicken, I discovered another problem. My silverware was filthy. There was still food residue on one of my forks, which is quite alarming given that we are currently in a global pandemic. At this point, I was hungry, tired, and I simply wanted to go home. Our waitress was extremely understanding and was constantly checking on us, despite the fact that it was evident she was being severely overwhelmed by the amount of customers. This location is BUSY any day during any meal rush time. If it's open you are waiting to be seated behind several parties. The service was ok, the food was ehh. The atmosphere was very loud. The temp was comfortable. There were mostly families, even in the bar corral. They have a viewing window where they are cooking steaks which is fun to watch. A little saddle for the kids to buck around on. The food came out slooooow. My steak was burned. The salad was was not good. The appetizers and bread were ok. I have been to other TRH locations that had better food. They can do better. I got sick to the stomach for a two days after. Was here with a large cantankerous party on a Saturday night and there lot of large activities going on in town. I didn't have my expectations set very high on this being a good visit. Once we registered with the hostess that our party size was 10, I expected her to laugh hysterically. She didn't and said it would be about 30 minutes which I thought was not going to happen. I steer the group out of the high traffic area and resigned myself next to a barrel of peanuts. I figured about 50 would tide me over plus give me something to do in this beehive of servers, bussing crews and customers in every nook and cranny. Barely 15 minutes and our table was ready. I was wrong so I celebrated by grabbing two handfuls of peanuts for the walk to the table. We got into the seating which was actually not bad which fit most of our larger than average size bodies (height and width). Drinks and hot bread was out much quicker than expected. I think I was the only one that didn't have at least 3 modifications to what I ordered; just a ribeye, salad and baked potato. I felt so sorry for the staff. The service was top notch for such a large crowd and our party. Drinks were topped off without us asking, hot bread was kept on the table and they even kept me in peanuts! Salads and appetizers were rushed to us and just as we finished, here were our orders. It was 100% precision. They knew what went where and all were as ordered. I was flabbergasted with how they pulled that off plus they were still friendly and very positive attitudes. I'm not sure how they managed that as the aisles were so full of patrons and staff! My salad was perfect, the ribeye was perfection (taste, juicy, color, grill stripes, and how I wanted it cooked) and the potato was perfectly done with all of the add-ons in perfect proportions. Every time I order food online. The food states it'll be ready in 30 minutes even if I'm just ordering half a dozen rolls it still says it's gonna takes 30 minutes to be ready and every time I show up at the promised time that my order is going to be ready I always have to wait another hour for them to prep bake and give me said rolls, which is insane because it does not take an hour to bake rolls takes 10 minutes tops. Their service is always ridiculous. I went up to the front window to pick up my food because the app told me that my food is ready and four people passed me by the window and didn't even try to help me. Texas Roadhouse is crowded and noisy as usual. (Especially since we went on Father's Day). The food is good and the waitress, although crazy busy, took care of us. The problem was the bathrooms. They are remodeling which is badly needed but they were down to one working stall in the ladies room. When I asked about this I was told there were temporary bathrooms outside and that they had air conditioning. I didn't venture out there. Seems to me, they could get a crew to complete the renovations during the night shift so as not to inconvenience their customers. The poor staff was also waiting on line to use the restroom. I'm so glad we did because it hit the spot. The kind waitress came out to our car, wearing a mask, and placed our food in the backseat. We ordered the 6oz sirloin family meal kit, which comes with 4 sirloins, 4 sides, a family sized salad, and a to-go box filled with their hot and warm rolls with honey butter. You can never go wrong with their rolls. We got the steak fries loaded with cheese and bacon bits and dipped them in ranch. We were informed when we ordered that the sirloins only came cooked medium since they had to cook many steaks for the family meal kits. We completely understood and had no problem with it. Even though we prefer a medium rare steak, it was still very good. They said they are going back to their full menu tomorrow, so I'm glad we got to try their meal kit while it was available. read more

Great food and great bartenders. I know it's a chain but really the stakes of this place will challenge any high end place. I am very demanding when I comes to stakes and this is one of the only restaurants where I will order one. My rule is that if I can make something as good or better for significantly less cost and effort than what I paid, I will not order it. The stakes here are delicious and affordable. Now to the bartenders Briana was my bartender the first night I visited the Waco restaurant. She was friendly and an awesome host. She made patrons feel like people instead of just tips as many servers do. She was engaged with everyone sitting at the bar and was always staying busy doing work while she chatted. We went for our last night in town with our son for dinner as we leave him to challenge his mind at Baylor University. We went when they opened at 4pm as a late lunch early dinner. Our son ordered the porter house. I got the New York strip and my fiancé ordered the prime rib. All seemed fine until just before the meal was supposed to come out, the female kitchen manager came to the table to let us know the prime rib wasn't ready and it would be at least an hour before it would be. As my fiancé had her heart set on prime rib it was a huge let down, she switched the the rib-let's app. And was highly disappointed. As they gave her an end cup from the ribs and they were super dried out. Not to mention bc the rest of the ticket I am sure had to wait in the service window while hers was being swapped out my steak was over cooked as was my sons. We asked for remakes but they took forever and my fiancé's dinner got cold waiting for us. Server never even asked to assist. As she was new and training. We made arrangements for three days telling them we would have 11 people and wanted to surprise the birthday boy.
