It started where everything starts: the wait staff. Maria was non-engaging, acted like we were not on her schedule, and proceeded to get my order wrong. It was a simple chicken salad with no cheese or eggs. They bring our food and no eggs () but it has cheese. I asked her to remove the cheese and that's what got the eye roll. She brought back my salad and it had no cheese but now it had eggs. Tried to eat around it, that was a no go. I sent it back and asked that they remove it from our check, and they did... and we got to hear her mumble something as she walked off with my plate. Did not see her again. I usually love Texas Roadhouse. It's one of the few chain restaurants that usually is consistently good. However, on this night we were very let down. Mostly because of the service but some of the food too! We had a very rude waitress (Mercedes) she had two tables that were one big group but separated and us (table of 3 adults 2 kids). She always had a ugly attitude and seemed frustrated to be there. My tea was empty and I asked her nicely for a refill and she told me it would be a while she was too busy with her 12 top. hmm what!? As for the food, it was pretty good except baked potato tasted like straight up pickle. It was gross and I am unsure why I would taste like that. My daughters steak bites that were ordered medium were burnt to a crisp. Also, while we were there an incomplete party was sat next to us. They were served drinks and bread. Turned out a few more ended up coming and they didn't fit at that table anymore, not a big deal, they were accommodating to them. However, when they got up to go back to wait for a larger table that one was never fully cleaned. A young kid simply wiped up the cup rings and restacked the plates that they had already been touched. It was not fully reset and the poor next people used possibly contaminated plates. Yuck! Sat at the bar. The service was great. The music was just loud enough to drown most of the tables out but I could still talk to people around me. I order a few beers, only main stream stuff on tap, and a meal. I got the 12 oz Ribeye, steak fries, and garden salad. The ranch was great and very thick. The steak fries were seasoned well. The steak was cooked and seasoned very well. I am very apprehensive about ordering steak because it is usually not cooked right and I sometimes question the cut and whether it's a real steak. For Texas Roadhouse tonight was a big disappointment. We were going to celebrate our anniversary. I have not been in a while, but have their portions gotten smaller? It sure seemed like it. Well, my wife ordered a loaded baked potato with her steak. She never got it until we were all done and ready to pay. Then the waitress never refilled our drinks at all. I will admit that the manager did take the price of the potato off the bill. I guess because we were celebrating is the reason it was a big let down for us. We went there for lunch today. They opened the doors promptly @ 11 AM. We were seated right away. Our food was tasty and served hot. As always,the Roadhouse was a tad loud. Cooking my steak right I asked for medium rare and I got well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't frequent this establishment, but Birthday or Anniversary celebrating is when we take a family meal here. This time we were let down for a couple reasons. My wrapped silverware was dirty, when I asked for a different set, they brought new ones and I opened it up to find dried lettuce on this set, so I had to ask for a 2nd replacement. Do the persons wrapping it not look at what they are wrapping up? The other reason we were let down is this little machine on the table, it is used to pay with a credit card, convenient right? Yeah, but don't touch it while you are sitting there. As this day of technology grows, people tend to mess with devices, this one apparently had games on it, They do not tell you as you are seated that should you become bored waiting for your food, and would like to play some games, for a small fee added to your bill, the kiosk at your table is available. Nope, they do a low blow, cheap shot and slip it in on your bill. That is so wrong, I have seen this place with a line out the door, they don't appear to be hurting for revenue, shy why do this sneaky crap? I asked the girl at the counter what the charges were, she had no clue, she had to call a manager to the front, then after the manager gal explained it proceeded to ask me if I wanted her to take that charge off. I had already paid my bill, left a generous tip for my server and was on the way out the door. No ma'am I am not going to stand here and wait 10 minutes for you to reverse charges for that buck 99, yall were so desperate for cash, that you do that sneaky crap. Keep your $1.99, use it to pay people to make sure the silverware is clean! You just bought a NO RETURN customer with your $1.99 game fee. I don't mind paying for services, but be upfront about it and give me the option. This was a stupid reason to lose customers. read more

Thos place is huge. Not happy with front desk hostess. They seem to just be gathered around to talk among eachother and not customers walking in. Tall skinny blond hair gentlemen had his back towards us and I had to walk around him to ask to be seated. They said they are cleaning the table handed me a beeper we had to figure to just stand around and wait. Wait over 10 mins. I watched them talk a young 5 of hostess I guess they were. Never ever had I experience such professionalism in a large establishment like this. Now we wait and see if service and food will redeem my experience in the 15 minutes standing here waiting. How can a restaurant call itself a "Texan" restaurant and not serve the true Texan soft drink, Dr Pepper? That and cinnamon butter. Really?

First of all, I LOVE Texas Roadhouse food. We were passing through and stopped on Saturday night. This review is for cleanliness. The place was so dirty. The restrooms looked like they haven't been cleaned all day with toilet paper and paper towels flowing onto the floors. It made me wonder if that was okay with all the workers who had to use the same restroom. The floors were slippery from food. I can understand peanuts being on the floor but with the other food and grease, this is a perfect example of why you never wear shoes in your own home. read more

I had forgotten about steak could taste that good. It was tender and juicy and tested like it was cooked to perfection. I had it smothered with onions and mushrooms. Delicious. My steak order took about 11 minutes to get to my table. The hardest part was deciding what to order as my sides. If you are feeling like you want to taste a great steak and not break the bank come here, even if only once for the experience. The overall decor hado a dark sports bar feel with buckets of peanuts on every table. My waitress was Jacey. She was very friendly and paid a lot of attention to me. She advised me about the sides and condiments for my steak. So 5 stars for the waitress. I guess I got lucky at the time of 4:30 pm because I didn't have to wait in line and the place was average on their noise level. The food here is really good. I do thoroughly enjoy the steaks I've gotten here. I give the steaks, meals, and service 4 stars. This recent visit our waitress was fun, they usually are. Again, the soda system was broke and unable to serve soda's or draught beer to customers. Which doesn't bother me much as I always drink water. But, you might not want to tell people that until they ask to order a soda. Server started right off that drink system was down, which leaves me a bad impression that the drink systems are always broke here. Third visit in the last year and the system is broke, again. The serving staff here are always happy and fun to deal with. My usual is the always smiling Hannah. She wasn't here on this visit. Really missed her. I didn't catch the name of the young lady this time but, she was really nice and fun too. The steak was more on the rare side when I asked for medium but, I can live with that. As long as it's not well done and dry, it's a steak, I can eat it. My beef was with the sautéed toppings. The mushrooms were perfect and a plenty. The onions highly disappointed me. Sautéed onions are always supposed to be soft NEVER hard and chewy. The cook sautéed the hard outer skin, the bad part of the onion that you peel off and throw away. Apparently the prep person didn't remove that outer layer and the line cook didn't care too much either. I can easily spot that part of a raw onion when I cook and toss it out of the mix, so when several such pieces ended up on my steak, I had to pick them out and flick 'em to the side. What a waste, poor quality control. My real beef that brings the rating to 2 stars ... the VERY LOUD MUSIC!! Isn't this supposed to be a family restaurant and/or a nice place to bring a date?? I work with a lot of bands in many venues, so I enjoy very loud music, in the right environment. But, this is ridiculous. You can't hold a conversation with a person two feet away from you without yelling. Much less to say the hearing damage this is causing employees in the long term working without protection. I can hear every conversation at every table around us because everyone is yelling, which is conducive to an even louder situation and negative atmosphere. It's ridiculous! It really sucks having to text a full conversation with someone sitting just two feet across the table from you. When I spoke with the manager in the past about this issue, his answer was, "That it's out of my control, it's corporate policy." YET, 50 miles away in Lawton, at their Texas Roadhouse it's a very comfortable volume level and allows for normal conversation and complete enjoyment of the meal and atmosphere. When I asked the manager there why he doesn't play the music VERY LOUD as per corporate policy, he looked at me very puzzled and said there is no such policy. Then, with an inquisitive reaction he says, "Oh, you must be from Wichita Falls?! We get complaints all the time about how loud it is there. NO, there is no such policy to play it loud." read more
