I have always loved this place until yesterday and after talking to the manager on duty (Cody) and him hanging up on me, I will not be going back. I opened my iced tea to re-use the cup from yesterday, and it had a huge chunk of calcium in it, looked like limestone. I called this morning to inform them they needed to check the ice machine in which he informed me that it is serviced regularly, basically calling me a liar. I told him we could argue about it or like a good manager would do they would check the machine, he hung up on me. I wish I could post a picture of what was in my cup. read more

Good food. Quick food as apposed to fast food. I have not made it passed the taco bowl. Since they ask you what items you want, if you don't like it you should not have ordered it. If you dine-in, get a to-go lid because the taco bowl has enough food for two meals. read more

Just ventured out to this place. The cooks and staff were very pleasant and helpful with helping us do our curbside pick up. Me and my both did the beef fajita and carne guisada plate. The beef fajita with pick, cheese, lettuce, sour cream YUM!!! Will be getting that again for sure! The carne guisada was good too almost like shredded roast beef, I think next time I might see if they could add some peppers. The beans were really tasty too! Food is good. The people are awesome. Decent amount of food for the price, which is on the higher side for casual dining. The salsa and the heat level (spiciness) of the food has to be the only complaint, salsa is generic in taste and no heat. Got one of each and was excited to try what was considered the hottest, unfortunately it had no heat and tasted like a generic mild salsa. I'd go back, but I'll have to remember that if I want actual heat in the food, I'll need to bring my own. read more

Outstanding tacos. I haven't made it further than the guisada, ckn and beef tacos but I don't need to. Poblano rice is spicy but delicious and the green tomatillo is just mild enough that I can eat some with every bite. I frequented this restaurant when it first opened. The food is fantastic and the staff has always been a pleasure. In the past, I could hardly finish a taco bowl and generally had to get a to-go box. Now, the prices have gone up and the portions are a fraction of what they were in the past. When you pay $18 at a fast food taco restaurant, you expect the food to be good and the portion to reflect the price. Instead, I'm leaving hungry. I could've gone to Jardin's or Chuy's for the same price, equally good food and much larger portion. It saddens me to say this, I really loved this place in the past. read more

Great place! Have gotten the taco kit several times. The meat (fajita beef and chicken) are moist and flavorful. The toppings are all fresh. Love the chips and flour tortillas that I think they make. Always ready at the requested time. We order the medium for two us to have leftovers the next day. Plan to try the outdoor patio on cooler day. read more

Overall, I'd recommend and will be returning. We tried the medium TX taco kit, it was great. The homemade corn tortillas were the best we've had from any restaurant. Not to say the flour were bad in any way, but hard to beat fresh corn. Fajitas were moist, tender and flavorful with a nice char. Will definitely be going back and trying the other meat options. I enjoyed their chips, fresh and seasoned, but seemed like not very many in the bag. Queso was a close second to Torchy's. Beans and Mexican rice were fine, nothing to specifically rave over. I see other people saying how good the pablano rice is, so may try that next time. read more

These were the best tacos we have tried out in leander area. They make the tortillas fresh in house. The eggs and potatoes in the breakfast tacos were cooked perfectly and super large size the salsas were also delicious. Our toddler loved the eggs and potatoes. We will go back. read more

Basically a more expensive Chipotle clone with fewer options.....we showed up on a Saturday at 10:45 and they had already cycled off of breakfast.....so no eggs.....most places serve brunch (with egg dishes) on the weekends....we both had the chicken taco salad.....the fried white flour shell was so flimsy that it was cracking apart when trying to fork the skimpy portion of chicken....the 'bowl' was 3/4ths lettuce......on a positive note, the chicken was excellent....very moist and flavorful.....just wish there was more of it....all the ingredients (except the shell) were very fresh....tomatillo sauce was good and the place was clean and well organized....another plus, they have Topo Chico....we ate outside in a fenced little yard on a picnic table.... read more

We were hopeful that this taco place would be somewhat decent as it is very close to our home. We tried a couple of different time and each time they were either closed early or not answering their phone. We tried last Friday night and were very disappointed to find that they close at 7PM. That is way to early for a restaurant. We finally were able to place an order today. Disappointment is about the best way to describe the food quality. Everything tasted out of a can or frozen, the tortillas were clearly store bought and dry. The rice was pretty much white rice with no flavor what so ever. I had the chicken taco's and did not finish as they were just disgusting. My husband had the taco salad and picked the meat out and tossed the rest in the trash. Don't waste your time, Taco Cabana is better quality. Guess we will continue to drive to Cedar Park for decent taco's. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally did. Ordered the taco plate with grilled chicken on flour tortilla and the green Chile pork on corn tortilla. Picked the Mexican rice and Street corn for sides. Without being too harsh, I was very disappointed with the tacos. Both the flour and corn tortillas fell apart as soon as I picked them up. They were both heavy on the condiments (which were fresh and tasty) but the protein on both was just okay. Same thing with the rice. No flavor at all. Street corn was good but could have used some chili powder to boot. Overall, this place is selling mediocre food for a high price. Don't see myself going back until some recipes are improved.
