    Margarita on the rocks

I ordered a cheeseburger my husband ordered wings he said they were really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was music playing which I loved the service was fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a classic margarita which was amazing. I would come back

Disappointing kitchen closed at 10:25 but weiner mobile sighting was epic!!!

So, came to watch the end of the Thursday night game and grab a drink. Unfortunately, they were out of simple syrup, so no Old Fashioned. Which is fine, just got some Garrison Brothers, neat. But, disappointing that at 10:25, the kitchen was closed even though they are open till midnight. Will skip next time I am in the Galleria. Only saving grace, the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile parked at the Embassy Suites! How fun is that!!!!

Went to Texas tap house recently for some food and drinks with a friend. We were just visiting the area and wanted a chill place to watch the game. Based on the pictures online, Texas tap house seemed like it would be a great spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty big with lots of table and bar seating, large screen and multiple tvs to watch the game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All was true however, [[HIGHLIGHT]]once we got there it was pretty empty and we were surprised.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But nonetheless figured we'd give it a shot. The waiter, was very nice but informed us they did not receive their latest food delivery so they had a scarce menu. With that being said we did not receive a menu at all, instead he listed the items we could choose from. Went with tacos, however, before we could ask what the specifics of the orders would come with he was gone. I got the veggie tacos which were okay, no real flavor except that comes from the Sautéed veggies. My friend got the chicken tacos and mentioned the meat was a bit tough. Maybe the food is better on days where they have all the ingredients they need. The service was not great, not attentive at all, once we were served our food, we didn't see the waiter back at table again, for a very long time instead the staff seemed to be hanging out with friends or familiar customers most of the night. But one good thing about this place was they had a great selection of local beers on tap and drinks available to choose from. The waiter was great and helpful with helping us figure out which local beer would best suit our taste.

Farm House Burger with a Long Island Ice Tea

The farm house burger with a fried egg (hard) was one of the best I have had in a long time. Long island ice tea did the job. (Iykyk) [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a sports bar feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

As you walk in, you'll be greeted by the 70's/80's/90's bar music of rock/disco and chessboard floor pattern. Then you get your drink order from one of the many pleasant bartenders (or Louie) and sit either inside or outside and think to yourself you're the luckiest person in the world. So they specialize in three things: cocktails/liquors, cigars, and patio seating. When you combine all three of those, it's the perfect bar. Cocktails such as ol fashions and cape cods are plentiful here. I also appreciate they do a new york sour here which is an underrated cocktail. Cigars are sold here too and they have cutters and plenty of torch lighters to spark them up. Outside on their patio deck has plenty of seating with some of those heaters in case you houstonians can't handle the cold. Only gripe is I wish they had a larger wine selection as they only have bordeuax or a red blend. Not sure if they serve white wines either. But there's wine bars for that. You're here for the hard stuff or a quick beer, maybe a cigar, and definitely a peace of mind. That's what keeps me coming back!

Before that, I remember the baguette bread and very well-seasoned meat, etc. These were the closest to ones from Philly, bc even to this day, other places often make atrocious Philly sandwiches. I went here recently a few times for the first time in 5 years. I ordered the 6 inch Back Home Philly with no cheese, plus a side of tomatoes togo. The bread was more of a soft, dense and slightly chewier type rather than crispier version like the former baguettes. It was still a great bread option resembling one you'd get from an authentic Philly sandwich. The onions n mushrooms were obviously great n cooked well adding more excitement in taste. The tomatoes were nicely cool n refreshing with some contrast to the warm saltiness of this sub. The meat itself was seasoned enough and tender in every bite. Not as deep in seasoning as years ago, but still definitely done right. It was a delicious, fresh and comforting sandwich and would definitely come here for it at times when craving a Philly steak. I would say Jake's and Philly Flats are the only ones like the real thing down here. I do prefer the seasoning from Jake's even more tbh. Great, very welcoming and efficient service on these visits.

Our server was great, I can't remember his name, but he joked around with us the whole time and made the experience a lot more fun. Good service can really make a meal, and he definitely did. I asked him for his favorite menu item, and he recommended the Houston Cowboy Burger. It had really good flavor, and I enjoyed it overall. It was definitely on the spicy side (which makes sense with the jalapeños), but if you like a little heat, I'd recommend it. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was solid and I'd order it again. My only real complaint was that it was pretty loud inside. There was a game on, so there was a lot of cheering and noise, which made it feel a little overstimulating. That said, it's more of a sports bar atmosphere, so I don't really fault them for it, we just weren't there to watch the game. Overall, we had a good time, enjoyed the food and service, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Well, it turns out, there was a World Cup soccer match going on. The place nearly cleared out after the game was over. Anyhow, when the place was packed it was very loud. But once it cleared out, not bad. Upon arrival I learned the hard way that it's open seating. I stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes and then was told to find whatever open seat I could find. We mainly went for drinks but decided "what the heck" and ordered food. The buffalo wings were good but not great. Same with the Marinara pizza. I was impressed with the size and the crust was pretty good. I suggest adding jalapeños to it. We also ordered a sushi roll (who knew you could order that and they just get it from Sushi on Post Oak next door). That roll was pretty good but also very pricey. Overall, pretty good experience and I'll be back. Parking lot is also large with plenty of spaces which I appreciate.

They also have arcade games including Skee Ball and Pop-A-Shot. The menu had beer, wine, and cider, but they do have a full bar. I didn't see any specialty cocktails on the menu so I just asked the bartender, Marc to make me a gin based cocktail. Marc came up with his version of a Corpse Reviver. It had a tart, yet fruity twist to it. I can't recall all of the ingredients he used, but I liked it. I also had a Gimlet which was really good. Marc informed me about The Railyard shot special.
