Our group of 4 arrived 20 mins before check in time but we were told we couldn't do anything because "thunder storm" so we need to wait every 30 mins. We finally went on our climp at 1:40 so that 40 mins behind the schedule that totally out of our control. What an adventure! This was our first time at a place like this and we were pleasantly surprised. We went for a birthday party and were assigned to a treehouse. Inside there were lots of windows that allowed for a nice breeze and great views of the climber's. The staff were friendly, patient and knowledgeable. There were 10+ children and in our group and I was impressed by how organized the process was. After checking in and signing waivers, we headed to the treehouse to see the birthday girl. After most of the party had arrived, the kids first lined up for harnesses, followed by the adults accompanying their children on the course. We then headed to down a set of stairs for the safety briefing and to learn how to maneuver the course. I was surprised how quickly the children grasped the concepts. Once everyone passed the evaluation, we headed back upstairs to line up to enter the course. It was much higher and challenging than I expected. I'm not terribly afraid of heights but to transition to and from each obstacle took a tremendous amount of core and upper body strength. It was so cute seeing the kids clip on and move freely. This was a very fun day and I look forward to returning for a night event as we enter the hotter months in Texas. read more

I had a great time! STAFF REVIEW: Staff was nice and excited about their job. Very knowledgeable as well! There was someone who got all the way to the highest level, walked across a couple courses and then had a panic attack. The entire place JUMPED into action. They were going back and forth on the walkie talkies and they were able to repel her down to safety. SAFTEY MEASURES: The equipment is very easy to use and it will 100% catch you if you fall. I saw 2 people slip off, but they dangled in the air safely until they got help. You will not fall from great heights if you slip either. They go over how to use the equipment and you practice before going on the actual course. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: I will admit, there were a lot of difficult courses even tho they were marked in green (meaning they're easy). They had different heights too. You have to have pretty good arm strength and core strength. I was sore the next day since I wasn't expecting it to be THAT much of a workout. Very fun tho! Don't get me wrong. I'd go back! WARNINGS: 1. You really do need to get there on time. Don't be late. They will literally start going over everything AT your time. Be a responsible adult and plan accordingly to get their promptly. 2. If you get there and decide you can't do it. Fear of heights, anxiety, sickness, etc. you will not get a refund so make sure you are READY to climb. 3. GO IN THE MORNING! Our time was at 10:30 and you can climb around for 3 hours. But in that time, more people join (the start times will overlap) which will make it more crowded. And we went in June so it was also just super hot out. 4. Bathrooms are a slightly out of the way but the staff will inform you to use them before the instructions start and if you need to go during your climb, it might be a pain to get down, undo all your equipment, walk over there and hop back on. Just go before and you'll be fine! 5. Photos/Videos. This will be something that many people will be greatly annoyed with. We are in a generation where everyone wants to post everything they're doing. Document their life. Brag to others. Post on insta/tiktok...but you CANNOT bring ANYTHING on the course. No one from the staff will be taking photos of you either - so no photos to purchase kinda thing. All of my photos and videos were taken by my dad who did not climb with us. If you can't live in the moment, then you need help lol! Unless you REALLY need to be filmed/photographed, bring someone who is afraid of heights and they can be your paparazzi. If you aren't climbing, you don't have to pay. My dad came along because it was my birthday and he has too many medical conditions that prevents him from climbing. Hopefully my review helped! Absolutely loved out experience here! Totally worth the one hour drive from Sugar Land to experience Texas TreeVentures. The safety training was hands on and very good. The obstacle course has a variety of different difficulty levels all over and you could take the easy route or challenge yourself -- I did both! There are employees all over and you can ask questions and request help or advice at any time. You cannot bring a phone or anything with you onto the course, which is GREAT! No one wants to get hit by falling objects from above or have to wait while people take a bunch of selfies or get the perfect photo. Friends/family can stand on the edges of the course and take your photo if you want, my husband took mine when he decided to finish a few minutes before me. Time slots are for 3 hours which includes about 30-40 minutes of safety training. I think they have timed it perfectly. At the end of 3 hours, I was done and ready to give my arms a rest. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Bring and wear gloves! Any type of gloves will work but they really are incredibly useful. Wear good tennis shoes. There is plenty of free parking and bathrooms. Go to the bathroom BEFORE you gear up, otherwise it's a process to remove it all. My husband ended up breaking his finger on the course - no fault of Texas TreeVentures, but he just hit a handhold on a wall wrong and it happened. When he got off the course, the staff was very helpful in getting us icepacks and lotion to get his wedding ring off (of course he broke his one finger with a ring on it). They were responsive and helpful and accidents happen. My husband had a great time on the course and did over 2.5 hours with a broken finger (he broke it at the beginning and just powered through until he really was done). We both thought the safety protocols were top notch and the course is very safe. That's saying a lot since my husband had surgery two days after breaking it and now has 2 temporary pins in his finger. We'll still go back and do it again... after he fully heals. Suggestion: Book an earlier time. The later it gets the more people are on the course. read more

I definitely recommend choosing a time where it isn't too hot outside, since it is outdoors and the water they provide is lukewarm. We have been wanting to visit for the last two years and I'm so glad we finally got to go. It was so much fun! I was a little skeptical about the 3 hour limit, thinking there is no way it will take 3 hours. Well, we spent 3 hours and still did not experience all the "elements". My two daughters loved it (17 & 9). Prior to going I thought the price seemed a little steep but after the experience it was definitely worth the cost and money well spent. The staff was very nice and informative, although some seemed a little standoffish and shy. I feel like overseeing something like this you need to be outgoing, however they were quick to call out and correct people who were not following the guidelines. The only downside is that the restrooms were kinda far to walk to. It would be really nice to have an on-site restroom and some lockers to keep your belongings in. We walked on a tight rope over 100 ft in the air, stumbled slowly over swinging logs and belayed down the tallest point of the obstacle course! The instructions/training course is thorough bordering on tedious, but I believe I'd prefer tedious and safe versus exciting & broken. Safety first. What they mean by Glow in the park is they give you a glow in the dark bracelet or necklace that doesn't glow because the course is lit up with white light. On top of that we had to buy gloves instead of being able to borrow gloves like the woman stated on the phone. Paid full price and was kicked off in less than an hour because I didn't know the course like the back of my hand. They mention in "ground school" that there is a 0 tolerance policy and they aren't kidding. You're expected to know every in and out of the course safety layouts as if you've worked there all summer like the employees. There is a large central platform on the course that can get pretty crowded and sometimes it can be hard to find a line to clip into. The platform is large enough to feel relatively safe being unclipped, so I thought it would be okay to walk up to the next level unclipped. With sunglasses on and it being my first time, I missed the line you are supposed to clip into to walk up the stairs and was "caught", if that's what you want to call it. There are many small platforms built around the trees that have 3 person limits that I don't think the average person would even toy with the idea of unclipping from their harness out of fear of falling, but the central platform feels much more like a safe zone. They don't really differentiate the platforms in "ground school", but will hold you to expert safety levels after the 20 minute instructional that is helpful, but it doesn't effectively simulate how it actually is on the course. After making this honest mistake, I apologized to the guides and tried to explain I didn't see the line, but it was too late. Thats all it took to be considered a hazard on the course to everyone and I was asked to leave. I don't make scenes wherever I go, I follow the rules, I keep in line and just try to go with the flow of life. I wasn't being rowdy or terrorizing other customers or endangering anyone, I was just guilty of being human and making one mistake that only affected myself. It felt like they wanted to make an example out of me and/or power trip for some reason amongst of crowd of people who all were trying to do the same thing, just have fun and be safe. On a final note, "ground school" doesn't mention going up and down between the levels of the course, only between obstacles, maybe add that in so people are more aware. You should also reiterate that the large central platform is still required to be clipped in at all times despite being significantly larger than any other platform. Lastly, maybe don't say things like "bonus points to whoever can figure out how to unclip without the key" if you're going to be this unforgiving or strict with your rules. Humor can be useful in long winded demonstrations, but this was not the right way to do it. My request for refund or partial refund was denied. Will not be returning. read more
