I am no river outfitter expert, but my experience with Texas Tubes was great. We were able to park for free, fill up our tubes with air from the building across the way for free, use their bathroom facility (which was actually clean), and for $15 per person jump into the river, and grab a shuttle ride back for the day. We arrived a little afternoon, and had to wait in along line for those of us with credit cards only, reminder next time bring cash. Also, they do NOT accept American Express. They were really nice and kept a bag of my belongings behind the counter, and it was still there when I got back. Once you pay, then you wait in another line to get into the river. There are some stairs to a landing in which you throw your tubes in, climb down a ladder and then maneuver your way into your tube. We had a third tube with us, that served as our cooler for snacks, water, and cans. If you forgot sunscreen, they did sell some items at the cash register. You will definitely want to reapply sunscreen while floating down the river. The Comal is a beautiful river, warmer than the others, about 3 miles long and can take about 3-4 hours to float down. It is a slow moving river, with several river chutes well signed along the way. Their are two exits on the river, and they are well signed. At the last exit, you climb a bunch of stairs, and in no time we were met by a shuttle that took us back to Texas Tubes and our car. I don't think I would go 2x, so a day pass seems silly. I would definitely recommend Texas Tubes, easy to find, convenient and friendly. read more

I went tubing for the first time EVER last weekend, and it was fabulous! I felt very Texan! It was an incredibly hot day and we got a late start, but things went smoothly. There was a big parking lot where we could leave our car and a shuttle (which was actually more like a paddy wagon, but it did it's job) took us to get our tubes. There was a VERY long line, but it went by pretty fast. Drinking in line helped! For $11 bucks you get a tube and a shuttle ride to and from the river. They also had tubes with bottoms for the coolers. Great time. I can't wait to do it again!! read more

The place to rent tubes. The people there are AWSOME!!! They have tons of parking, the best tubes, and the best spot on the river. The shuttle they have is a one of a kind tricked out bus with all all of the walls covered in photos of drunk crazy people. At the end of your tubing trip they are always there waiting, and even on the ride back to your car they keep you entertained by blasting music and practicly driving on two wheels as they break every law to get you back to the top of the river as quickly and joyfully as possible. read more

While a bit more pricey than I expected, tubing down the Comal was a freaking blast. Granted, it's only pricey once you factor in a tube for your booze, water-proof containers for your I.D./etc. Either way, it was still worth it. I had to pay for a second trip around. I'd prefer something with more "rapids," although the little waterfall and the "rapids" they do have are amazingly fun for the brief seconds you get to experience them. HORRIBLE!! We had to go to the over flow parking lot and waiting over 45 minutes for the shuttle to take us to Texas Tubes once at Texas Tubes we waited in line for an hour and a half then they announced they didnt have any tubes and they were forming a seperate line for those who needed to pay and then those who needed a tube. Well everyone rushed to the front and there was no order to anything. We ended up leaving and walking back to the over flow parking lot after being in the HOT Texas sun for over 2 hours!! Texas Tubes also let people cut in line so as long as you had one person in line "holding a place" 20+ others could join....another reason why we waited so long. I was so angered and disappointed by our experience with Texas Tubes. We had a great experience on the river but on the bus back to the office, our fellow passengers were making loud comments and "jokes" about Mexican people, "illegals," etc. At one point, they even loudly mocked and jeered at a Latino boy walking on the street our bus. Obviously, the behavior of customers is outside the control of the company. However, I was disappointed that the bus driver was laughing alongside the passengers, and one of the passengers said that the driver was the owner of the company. If he truly was, then I am all the more disheartened that these sort of comments were not only tolerated but encouraged by the owner and management of Texas Tubes. read more

Had a great time, its really pack, and a tad too long for me.. there an area that you have to slide off, make sure you are not tied to each other.. we had like five tubes tied together, we all flipped off.. other than that, it was fun. read more

I went tubing today and used Texas Tubes. We decided to do the Comal as to miss some of the crowds this weekend. We arrived at 945am, had no problem parking(free) was able to go right up to the counter and rent a tube with no wait($14 w/ bottom). Once our full group got there around 10a, we were able to walk right down to the river with no wait and get in. The ride was only 1.5 hours. I guess I am just use to tubing the Guadalupe as the ride seemed very fast. Once we got to the take-out point, we had to wait for the bus for a while. Once we got back, the parking lot was packed and there was a line. Just before getting to the take-out point for Texas Tubes, I saw a sign for Rockin R tubes that said unlimited rides for $12. Texas Tubes charges $5 for any extra trips. I think maybe checking around for pricing may be better. All in all, the process seemed pretty smooth and the workers were very nice. I'm not sure of the value of the ride. read more

Had a blast here. Simple, easy, cheap fun. I plugged the address into my GPS and it delivered me to their doorstep. Good sized parking lot (though I can imagine it fills up quickly). Cheap, simple process: pay for your tube, get in water, float, get on bus. If you're passing through stop at Dollar General or some gas station to get some coolers to fill with beer and ice - no bottles/cans/Styrofoam on the river. Definitely a good time! read more

My daughters and I went floating yesterday and ended up using Texas Tubes to rent our tubes from. The staff was awesome and the tubes were large and great! They even gave us rope and a nylon bag to use for free. Ended up saving us money because the were able to recommend what we really needed (which was cheaper). I will use them again for sure. Parking was free and they even had showers and bathrooms to change in. read more

River tubing in the morning is always the best way to go! I tried another river tube company prior but Texas Tubes is by far the best! Fast service! Close proximity to the parking area! Great service! Our party of 5 couldn't decide if we wanted a one trip down the river or the unlimited one. Thankfully, you can decide later in the day if you do decide to go back in the water. We went on a Tuesday before noon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so much that we added on a day pass and floated the Comal again! It took us just over 2 hours each time to float. We were able to leave premises to grab lunch and come right back after a short break to get back on the river. Great day! read more

Rent a tube for $15 a person. Then gets in the water float for about two hours. They are the only ones who will shuttle you back to the beginning for round two or to turn in your tube. Great experience all around. read more

Very convenient and the staff is always friendly. I have been multiple times and never had a bad experience with the staff. On the other hand free parking is always a plus but why am I stuck walking from a parking lot far away on the weekends and paying $10 to park when it's free for the select few who got close parking? read more

We stopped here last minute after trying a few other companies that were closed after labor day. Texas Tubes were the only ones we could find who were opened. These guys are thoughtless jerks! My friends tube lost air as we were going downriver due to a gasket problem. My friend hopped out an asked them if they could help give him more air. They had NO ONE in line and the guy wouldn't help him out because we didn't rent tubes from them and had our own. Pretty lame. It wouldn't have cost them a dime and only woulda took a couple minutes and air - yes free air! I'm sure if he were a woman in a bikini they woulda been ready to help! Poor guy had to stand in the hot parking lot and do his best to blow the thing up by mouth - not recommended! If they can't help out someone who lost air floating the river, they don't deserve any business as far as I'm concerned! Far from Southern hospitality! read more

i've been here three times now and am definitely a fan. they are always super nice (even when they are really busy), and very informative. there are very clear signs warning you of the shoots/exits and the shuttle is usually waiting for you at the end. once we had to wait like five minutes. it's a 2.5 - 3 hour float but for $5 more dollars you can go again! other amenities: they hold your keys changing rooms/restrooms free parking if you rent your tubes there (unless the lot is full) they have string to tie up your cooler tube or to each other thanks texas tubes for a great tubing experience and a great place to cool off in the texas heat! we'll definitely be back (hopefully next weekend)! read more

Great experience renting from these guys. They really know their stuff, and are well organized and keep the line moving. Customer service is top notch as well. Came for one float and decided to get the all day pass instead, glad I did cause I love those tube chutes and wanted another go. Impressed with their prompt shuttle service and the ease of getting another set of tunes to go again. My first float started around 9:30, much more peaceful than the second but both were fun. Labor day weekend too, didn't feel too crowded even though there were plenty of people. Def will return. read more

My sister and I had a great time toobing down the Comal this morning! We arrived at Texas Tubes just after 9 am, the free parking lot was totally empty and we had absolutely no wait (on a holiday no less!) We paid our $15 each for a toob with a bottom (one drivers license was held for both toobs,) handed over our keys, and hopped right in! The water levels were low but we still traveled the whole river in 2 1/2 hrs. I only got dumped over once on the little waterfall, but others nearby helped us rescue our things and off we went. We almost missed the river exit, we were looking for a Texas Tubes sign from the water instead of the very obvious "Last Public Exit" sign that we needed to exit at. I would definitely bring the family next time, especially in the morning before it gets too crowded and the partiers show up. We still got plenty of sun and would have gone for another float if we had had time, as there were still no lines and the river still wasn't too packed when we headed for home at noon. read more
