Dhe did scramble to deliver the stone with a $200 delivery fee. I lived 11/2 miles from their store. After completing my project I had about 1/2 the stone left. I talked to the manager about returning the stone, on a pallet, since it was HER ESTIMATE. She flatly refused. DIYers beware doing business here, you are 100% on your own.w read more

Hands down the WORST cut Texas Stone I've ever bought! Purchases 1.5 tons and couldn't use 1/3rd if it. Supposed to be 3x3.... hell I've got 400lbs or rock larger than 5x3. Over half the lot I purchased is like this! HORRIBLE read more

Watch out they will sell you more than you need and wont but any of it back from you......they over sold me about $200 worth of extra, and now I have to dispose of It somehow... So.......start with a smaller amount and go back for more if you need more. read more

Never again! I went there this morning to get some crushed granite and will never do business there again. 2 reasons: - Overpriced: they charged $50 /cy when J&M across the street asks only $34. - The employee kept arguing vehemently than1/4 yard was "4 or 5" buckets, i.e. 20-25 gallons. In my experience with any other place in Austin where you buy bulk items (Natural Gardener and others) and everything I read online, 1 cubic yard = about 200 gallons (or 173 dry) = 40 "5 gallons" buckets. Maybe I'm misinformed but the employee could have "educated" me with being confrontational and violent. In short I paid 3 times what I should have if I had bought this across the street ... Very unpleasant experience! Never again as far as I'm concerned. read more

I see the reviews are a bit mixed for Texas Wholesale Stone. My experience has been very positive and I am a repeat customer. I find the customer service to be very good and the owner, who has made some of my deliveries, is courteous and professional. The office staff knows their stuff and they are pretty straightforward. I like working with them. I do not need a lot of fluff and a fancy office or sales site. I need materials at a good price and reliable vendors with good quality product. Texas Wholesale Stone meets my needs in that regard and I continue to give them my business. Yikes! The gals that work at Texas Wholesale Stone have the worst customer service skills! I ordered limestone paving stones from TWS and had to wait two weeks beyond the scheduled delivery date, and when I called to inquire about the delivery my calls were not returned. After our initial delivery, we needed a few more stones to complete our project. Against my better judgement we returned to purchase additional stones from TWS because I wanted them to match the first batch of stones. Again, the gal was so rude I just left without purchasing. My advice, find another stone supplier. There are several on RR620! read more

My wife and I have used TWS for the last two years for various projects around the house. Mulch, soil, sandstone for steps around our deck, Mexico stone for path steps, and limestone around our trees. The staff have always been helpful in answering questions, helping load our truck, & giving recommendations for various uses. Their new location is easy to get to & the new office/trailer is an improvement over the last one. Highly recommend them for someone interested in projects around the house. read more

This is going to sound weird so I'll just say it. I like rocks. I like rocks but had a bad rock experience when it came to doing a walk for our house years ago....so I've not gotten more rock to finish some work that was much needed. Apparently I didn't just get the wrong rock...I went to the wrong place all those years ago. I am not sure Texas Wholesale was here then...I'm pretty sure they weren't but I'm glad I found them now. They have a lot of selection, will let you run around the lot like you're at summer camp, their prices are reasonable (I have nothing to compare to of any worth so reasonable is based upon my expectations). We bought the most beautiful 2' limestone flagstones to cover an area at the end of our pool and have now decided the pad will need to grow to replace some of the older stonework.....we'll be back today for another ton of rock...the owner was helpful and helped ensure we were getting the right stone (obviously we hadn't in our prior experience) and directed us away from stone we would have regretted later for our scenario, even though it was more expensive. I appreciate someone focusing on the long term, rather than the immediate gain of a few dollars more. That means I'll come back....like I am today! If you're looking for landscaping stone, this is a great place to start....not the other places...start here. I wish I had years ago. read more

Kathy Cowey with Texas Wholesale Stone (TWS) greeted us and helped us find just what we needed! We were able to secure a half pallet of landscaping stone that most resembled the color and style of our house's stone. She was friendly and helpful! Her colleague, a kind cowboy, even allowed my young boys to sit in the fork lift for a bit. We were able to successfully install landscaping stones out to our mailbox and also over to our garbage cans which at times were inaccessible due to mud after a rain...What a big and beautiful difference this weekend project has made! We are grateful to the employees of TWS and are alread planning our trip back for mulch in the near future! read more
