    Smoked daily!

I downloaded this app just so I could write this review. This is NOT your average place. The people that work here have a Passion for the meat and a desire to please the customer that you Rarely find today. Excellent service, great food along with a clean restaurant. Bravo!

Weekly specials - valid all day

We decided to try Texlahoma as others consistently mention it as "best BBQ" when people ask for recs in the Edmond / OKC area. The daily specials menu brought us in - $6 for a pulled pork sandwich is a great throwback price, too. Overall we found the menu to be reasonably priced and we ended up getting a $6 sandwich to go for someone at home, and we tried several other items, pictured. I would definitely order the queso potato again. It looked simple but was bursting with flavor. The sliced brisket was extremely tender - notably more so than other BBQ joints. I liked the flavor of the baked beans, and we all agreed that the French fries were perfect. Service was helpful and enthusiastic. I prefer the counter ordering system they use here, but they did bring our food out, which I appreciate. The restaurant wasn't busy when we visited during the noon hour on a weekday, so I really hope they can gather enough business to stay open because the food was good. Everything was clean and there was a mix of tables and booths. The only downside was my husband wasn't a huge fan of the BBQ sauce, which had a sweet onion flavor. I liked it, though. He would've loved a spicier option without the onion. Another bonus is their meal specials are valid all day, not just at lunch time. So kids eat free all day on Mondays! We'll be back.

Their baked potato was so tasty. The turkey was juicy and potato was huge! Maybe it was the temperature of the day or the room but potato got cold fast and my butter wouldn't melt but a quick zap in the micro fixed that. Will definitely have again.

Pulled pork Chopped brisket Street corn Potato salad

UPDATE: I came back today to get some brisket. I ordered the 2 meat combo w/pulled pork, chopped brisket, street corn and potato salad. The food here is fucking delicious and easily in the running for my new favorite bbq spot . The street corn was full of flavor and very well done. I normally am picky with potato salad and I love their "mushy" potato salad. The pulled pork once again was very moist and juicy. The chopped brisket also, was very moist. I can't recommend this place enough. Cheers!

Street corn, not good at all.

Ribs were the only thing that were halfway decent. Did not like the baked beans AT ALL. BBQ Sauce was like a sweet chili sauce...odd.

Food was cold (we ate at the restaurant). They forgot two of our sides. Ribs were greasy.

Delicious food. Some of best bbq around IMO. Wish they did the burnt ends here. But other than that, the new place is legit.

I called and they put our name on some sort of list and said we could claim it when we went back in, but we never did (well, we tried to at the 2nd st location and they didn't believe me ha). This was quite a few years ago, but when I called in March 2026 for the first time in years, I mentioned it, not expecting to be accommodated,I said I knew it was a long shot, but the lady I spoke with was very friendly, efficient and best of all, believed me and worked with me even when she didn't have to. So we finally got our pound of turkey, what, 5 years later, or something like that : ) They have great food to boot, you don't need to spend gas driving to get bbq in OKC we've already got the food stuff right here in Waterloo.

Everything I got this time had really good flavor, ribs had the perfect texture (In my opinion), beans weren't too spicy but also weren't too sweet but, almost everything on the plate was served at room temperature minus the beans. The beans were warm. The fact that just about everything was about room temperature made me rate this experience lower than I wish. Not sure if I will come here again.

Gage, our waiter was very professional and helpful. He guided us through the menu and helped us make good choices. We started with three mule cocktails. We had the Oaxacan, the Moscow and Kentucky Mules. Everyone enjoyed the cocktails. One thing that stood out to me for my Oaxacan Mule is that the Mezcal's smoky flavor really shown through and it was not overly sweet. A very clean cocktail, which I highly appreciate! We ordered the Chef's Salad Wrap with Onion Rings, French Dip with the tomato soup, and the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with seasonal side of grits. I enjoyed the Chef's Salad Wrap but I would probably be a little more bold next time and get the Cortez or the Reuben. I craved a lighter choice and was more sinful with the over the top delicious onion rings! Wowowow! Hubby enjoyed his soup and French dip and son enjoy his Philly cheesesteak and grits. I would definitely love to revisit and try more of their items.

The layout is well thought out, with a convenient entrance for to-go orders and seating available while you wait. As you walk in, you're greeted by a long entryway lined with their awards, and it's clear they take pride in what they've accomplished. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the experience stood out even more when the manager personally stepped in to seat us instead of making us wait. That level of involvement says a lot about how they run things. The food was amazing! The burger I really liked, it was cooked just as I asked and had a good smoke flavor even if it wasn't cooked on a wood fire grill but a flat top. The brisket was great, the fries and I have to say I didn't hate anything. I absolutely loved everything. Even the strawberry lemonade was delicious. I liked the sweet competition sauce but their original kc sauce was just right with its peppery sweet taste. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and gives you a clear view of the food you're about to enjoy. Overall, it's a welcoming spot with great energy and attention to detail. Definitely recommend.

The burnt ends were delicious! The broccoli and the bbq beans didn't quite meet the mark for me though. But the cornbread and that whipped butter tied it all back together for me! The prices on their website online are accurate :) I would come back to try the prime brisket French dip sandwich!
